The Frederick

Amazing Dining Experience! The Rolls melted away with buttery delight! The Braised Beef Cheeks and Pappardelle was so tender and flavourful (but could use a bit more sauce). The Agnolotti was creamy and velvety divineness. The burger was one of the best I've had in the city. The desserts were solid decadence! We celebrated a birthday so they gave us a free Sundae. The whole staff delivered warmth and care (Umu- u rule!) Go to this place soon!

stopped by at night here for their happy hour snacks and drinks. our server was genuinely warm and friendly throughout. I had the buttermilk fried chicken and enjoyed it. it’s boneless and comes with a sweet and spicy maple sauce, with sweet pickles on top. don’t usually like pickles but these were more sweet than sour and i liked the bite on them. the chicken was crunchy and not too dry. I personally prefer dark meat, but this still held up well. We also had the fried zucchini. The texture and seasoning were good, but I wish they were cut thicker. As is, it felt a bit like eating well seasoned fried vegetable peelings. I tried the Rush Hour cocktail too, their take on an espresso martini made with rum and wintermelon. It was enjoyable, but decadent and on the sweeter side, and became a bit heavy to finish as time went on. Overall, it was a nice space to hang out and I’m curious to try more of the menu. the restaurant vibe felt kind of like a moxie’s or milestone’s to me. they were playing the raptors game on and music was pretty loud. I also appreciated the clean, spacious individual washrooms with the sinks inside each room, which is always a plus.

Loved my first experience at The Frederick! The staff is super friendly and attentive (even though the place was packed). Cocktails were amazing with just the right balance of mix. As for food we had the Frederick Rolls and BBQ spiced half roasted chicken which was cooked to perfection. I personally prefer speakeasy restaurants, the music volume was just at the right level making it easier to communicate. Overall, we greatly enjoyed the experience and the service was outstanding. However, I was uncomfortable with the mandatory minimum 18% tip, as I believe tipping percentage should remain at the customer’s discretion.

Had a fantastic experience at Frederick. The shrimp salad was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the buttermilk chicken was absolutely to die for—perfectly crispy and seasoned. A special shoutout to Luke, our server, who was simply outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and made the whole dining experience even better. Will definitely be back!

Had lunch at The Frederick today and we were absolutely blown away by the entire experience. We ordered the buttermilk fried chicken, shrimp salad, and half roasted chicken, and each dish was cooked to absolute perfection. All of the dishes we had were delicious, balanced, and thoughtfully prepared. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside yet juicy inside, the shrimp salad was refreshing and full of flavor, and the roasted chicken was tender and seasoned beautifully. The desserts we had (tres leches cake, cherry sundae, and molten chocolate cake) were equally as good as they delivered both in flavour and presentation without being overly sweet. On top of the outstanding food, the service was equally exceptional. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made the meal feel seamless from start to finish (special shoutout to Ian!) Honestly, I couldn’t find a single flaw in my dining experience. From start to finish, everything at The Frederick exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a meal that delivers both in taste and service.

The Fredrick is the new exciting addition to Downtown Toronto and I’ve been excited about trying them for a whole now. We made a reservation for their Happy Hour during the weekday and our table was ready when we arrived. The vibe is lively and is suitable for dates, friend/family gatherings or corporate events. We ordered “Rush Hour”, “Bog Eye Tuna Tartare” and “Buttermilk Fried Cho Chicken” from the Happy Hour menu and enjoyed how fresh and tasty our food was. The staff are very friendly and help you with your order. The service is fast and food/drinks are served in a timely fashion.

Everything was delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive. Cocktails were out of this world. Bread super oily in a good way. We had the crab cakes and lobster roll, which I crave to repeat already.

Wow ! First time dining here - couldn't get a table but sitting at the bar was even better! Came here with my friend and had the best service from Steph, what am absolute doll. The whole team was very attentive, hands down a great night out, just a bunch of girls enjoying a great atmosphere food drinks and excellent service. Everything that Steph recommended was spot on excellent 👌🏻 will be back to try the rest of the menu and drinks ! Fyi the cocktail shrimp. Uffff delivered and are huugeee

This restaurant is in the ground level of the building where The Chase restaurant is on the upper level. Lively atmosphere with a bar area and some booths near the bar. Great selection on the menu. Lots of small plates, appetizers, and mains (upscale casual foods like burgers, crab cakes etc). Service was pleasant and knowledgeable. They gave us time to visit and didn't rush us. On the mid-scale price wise. Small plates were perfect for sharing. Location is just south of Queen subway slightly west of Yonge Street. Food was excellent.
