Had lunch at The Frederick today and we were absolutely blown away by the entire experience. We ordered the buttermilk fried chicken, shrimp salad, and half roasted chicken, and each dish was cooked to absolute perfection. All of the dishes we had were delicious, balanced, and thoughtfully prepared. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside yet juicy inside, the shrimp salad was refreshing and full of flavor, and the roasted chicken was tender and seasoned beautifully. The desserts we had (tres leches cake, cherry sundae, and molten chocolate cake) were equally as good as they delivered both in flavour and presentation without being overly sweet. On top of the outstanding food, the service was equally exceptional. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made the meal feel seamless from start to finish (special shoutout to Ian!) Honestly, I couldn’t find a single flaw in my dining experience. From start to finish, everything at The Frederick exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a meal that delivers both in taste and service.

I recently had the chance to dine at The Frederick, and I left genuinely excited about the potential of this newly opened spot! The overall experience was already very good, and with just a few refinements, this restaurant is absolutely poised for excellence. The moment you step into The Frederick, you know you're in for a treat. The design is a major highlight, it's beautiful, cozy, and elegantly sophisticated. The thoughtful art pieces give the dining room a wonderfully inviting yet refined feel. Plus, the menu is an exciting read, with a compelling selection of modern bar fares that make you eager to dive in. My meal was a fantastic journey, featuring some truly standout dishes that show the kitchen's brilliant capabilities, along with a couple of areas where a little tweak would go a long way. • Maryland Style Crab Cake (9/10): This was a triumph! The crab cake was perfectly flaky and delicious, with a wonderfully crispy exterior. The expertly made remoulade was a delightful balance of tangy and sweet, and the accompanying fennel salad provided a fresh, bright layer of flavour. The side gem salad, with its lovely mustard seed and pickled onion, was also a great touch. • Shrimp Louie Salad (8/10): This is a delightful modern twist on a classic! The combination of jumbo prawns, crisp iceberg, avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes and house thousand island dressing worked in beautiful harmony. The one minor thing to note is that the prawns were slightly tough, likely from being just a touch overcooked. Ensuring the prawns are perfectly tender would make this a must-order salad every time. • Mafaldine & Wild Mushrooms (6/10): This main course has tremendous promise. It looked and smelled wonderful, clearly showcasing effort and fresh, quality ingredients (the mushroom flavour was exceptional!). However, the execution of the pasta was a slight distraction: it was a little overcooked, leading to a texture that felt soggy and absorbed too much liquid (pasta water). Fine-tuning the pasta cook time would allow those incredible mushroom and truffle flavours to truly dominate and make this a superb dish. • Coconut Tres Leches Cake (10/10): A flawless finish! This dessert was decadence defined. The moist sponge cake and velvety, flavourful cinnamon custard sauce made this a truly perfect and memorable offering. The staff were attentive and checked on our table often, which is much appreciated! To take the service from good to truly excellent, I have two small suggestions: • Table Maintenance: Periodically crumbing or wiping the table between courses when needed would give the dining experience an even cleaner, more polished, and refined feel. • Menu Knowledge: The staff's current menu knowledge is good, but a deeper, more confident understanding would empower them to offer truly excellent recommendations and enhance customer engagement at the table. On a positive note, the attention to detail is clearly there, as the bathrooms were well-maintained and sparkling clean—always a great sign! Over all I had a wonderful experience at The Frederick. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service is attentive, and the menu features some truly stellar, exciting dishes. I'm truly looking forward to visiting again to see the restaurant’s continued growth!

Had the pleasure of experiencing The Frederick for dinner with some friends and it was incredible. The appetizers were exceptional and came out in a timely manner. We all shared bits of our meals and everything was so flavourful and great portions. My favourite was the salmon, it was to die for. I'm not a big sweets fan but the desserts were outstanding. I was thoroughly impressed with their non-alcohol drink options. They were the best I've ever had. The atmosphere and service were beyond what I expected. Our server was on the ball but not overbearing. We never felt rushed and the whole staff was so friendly. Walking in the first time I felt like I had been there 100 times. Highly recommend.

Wonderful atmosphere and staff service. The staff treated us with special care and hospitality and the food came out in a timely manner. Every dish we tried was absolutely exceptional! In particular, the salmon dish, the buttermilk fried chicken appetizer, the crab cake appetizer, and the mushroom pasta were favourites! There are special drinks for people who choose to abstain from alcohol and they were especially delicious! A great precursor to your concert or for a special night out.

Amazing dining experience! The cold dishes and starters were fresh and flavorful, the pasta and house specialties were perfectly cooked and unique, and the sides were excellent. Desserts like the Molten Chocolate Soufflé and Coconut Tres Leches Cake were delightful. The cocktails were refreshing and beautifully presented. Highly recommend!

Had the pleasure of experiencing The Frederick which is an amazing new restaurant in the heart of Toronto. For a brand new restaurant having just opened you would think they had been running for over a year already. The staff were absolutely amazing, introducing themselves, being very kind and conversational and not rushing your experience at all. The food from appetizer to dessert was phenomenal. Chef and the staff have curated an amazing menu that is not to be missed. From buttermilk chicken bites to crab cakes and chocolate soufflé there are so many items to try. Pictures to follow. Lol. The one thing I personally would like to comment on is the atmosphere from the acrylic centrepiece art work to the background music and acoustic treatments. Having a career in audio and installations The conversation is extremely manageable at the table with a full house where as you do not feel the need to talk loudly all the while being able to hear the music in the background but nice and full sounding. Looking forward to the next time I am in Toronto to dine here again
