"My friend takes me to restaurants in town, always the same places. There’s a pizza restaurant that’s delicious called The Fridge. I think the food there is better than a lot of places in New York City — they serve lots of local craft beers and delicious thin-crust pizza."

We walked here to enjoy some delicious food and drinks. A cute little bar. The pizza is delicious if you enjoy thin crust pizza. The chicken thigh sandwich was very good. We ordered at the front and both of our orders ended up being wrong but they fixed the issues and let us keep the wrong food as we waited for the correct food. Service was great and they correct our issue with ease.

We just had lunch at The Fridge in Lancaster, PA and really enjoyed it. The pepperoni pizza was excellent—super thin, crunchy crust with great flavor. The Caesar salad was just okay; the chicken was pretty sparse. But the hot dogs stole the show! We tried both the Kraut Dog and the Chicago Dog, and they were fantastic. The all-beef dogs are top quality and the toppings were spot on. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Well I didn’t expect pizza like this. This is a great little pizza joint in Lancaster that will knock your socks off. The menu is perfect with great options. We had the Brussels, pep pizza and the white with garlic and ricotta. I can’t wait to go back and experience more. They have glizzies too…. Beer selection is great as well.

Google
Not at all what we expected from online search and menu. They were out of a lot of items ("big group just came in and cleaned us out", they said.) Candidly I liked the chicken tacos, but was sick the next morning. Pizza was okay, pretzels okay. Only Boylan sodas, so for me the driver, not what I would have liked. It's a dive bar with attempted epicurian food. I think the black toilets speak for themselves.

Google
Great spot for beer and snacks. Unique style of pizza that will miss for those looking for NY or NJ styles but is very good on its own. Tomato pie is great. Recommend as a food stop after hitting the beer garden, easy lunch spot, or anyone looking to check out interesting local eateries. One of my favorites as a local. Outdoor seating available and dog friendly. Wheelchair accessible.

Google
Nice draft beer selection with an even larger canned and bottled beer inventory but the food is what brings us back! Thin cracker like crust on the pizza is super good and with plenty of topping choices Always have the pizza because it’s so good but all the food coming out looks so appetizing! Order at a counter and the servers bring the food to your table. Inside and outside seating options.

Google
The Fridge has always been one of my favorite go-to spots for a nice cold beer and some damn good pizza. You can’t go wrong with any pizza but I will say the game changer is the Bat Outta Hell Glizzy and THE ITALIANO!! It’s just that good 10/10 thing that you know you’re going to come back for EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. If you’re not that hungry and you just want a beer, munch on the bacon fat popcorn! (Thank me later!)

Google
My favorite restaurant on the planet. This place started my love of craft beer. Plus, tremendous pizza options and the hot dogs are truly wonderful. Also, don't sleep on the hummus. Update (5/10/23): Surprise, it's still great. We got the Bat Dog (as per usual), potato wedges, curry cauliflower, beef tacos and the garlic mac and cheese, and it was all great. Had Forest and Main and Hidden River off tap, and then grabbed a can of Little Log Cabin, which were all terrific. Staff was great as always. Oh! And we got a slice of tomato pie!

Yelp
Great food, great service and great beer selection! Nice corner spot for casual bite.

Yelp
Very good thin crust pizza and cool chill place. Self service to clear tables, and order at the counter, but small place so works out just fine. Right by the stadium and a good place to start a night. Large selection of beers; however 'the fridge' was half empty the night we went which was disappointing. Overall a good place though which I will return to.

Yelp
The food here is phenomenal and always good. Our biggest problem over the past few months is the beer selection. This used to be a destination spot for the draft beer and can selection. Sometimes we'd spend a while just trying to decide what to get. Anymore, the coolers are about 1/4 filled and it's all generic beer, nothing unique. I think the local Sheetz has a better beer selection. We used to stop here very regularly but have since cut way back because the beer selection here sucks anymore. Their website menu is also never up to date which is really annoying to show up to get something to eat, just to find out they don't have it. We will keep stopping back in to eat but it will be less and less unfortunately.

Yelp
Sad state of affairs at the Fridge these days. I get the slacker vibe, but the people behind the counter are supposed to actually be working right? There was a time when all of the coolers were full with interesting beers and each one was even turned so you could see the labels. Now they're well under 1/2 filled now and aren't even too interesting. Service is abysmal, food took forever despite being barely occupied and even then our order was wrong. They did credit back a hit dog for the delay, but overall sad - especially compared to what it once was (or to any other bars or restaurants). Oh, and no woodstove in the main area anymore!! Total bummer!!!

Yelp
Excellent, best roast vegetables sandwich I've had. Large beer selection I recommend highly!

Yelp
I would come here again. We loved it. Best veggie pizza I ever ate. My sister said same thing. Weird, but it works! Plenty of drinks to choose from... a whole fridge to pick from.. lol Bacon popcorn is weird, but we couldn't stop eating it even though we were like... hmm... Very helpful staff!! Cool old antique stove and cool decor vibes.

Yelp
We came here for a quick bit to eat, on Black Friday. You order at the counter, receive a number, and then your food is brought to the table. I wasn't super hungry, so I ordered the Brussels sprouts, which were delicious! My friends ordered pizza, and while I did not try any, they said it was delicious. Low key vibe, but good food. Overall I recommend!

Barb S.

Yelp
The Fridge was our every Sunday lunch spot for the past 2 years but over the past 6 months the "fridge" has been empty. Not sure what is going on but the beer selection is non existent compared to previous years. I really hope things turn around because the food is still really good and we enjoy the atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
Come for the wide range of beer selections and enjoy a decent pizza while you are at it.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this gem of a place when staying right next door at the Lancaster Arts Hotel while on a college visit with my son. With an eclectic, yet simple menu and outstanding beer selection, The Fridge piqued my curiosity; the experience for me and my 17yo exceeded already lofty expectations. A memorable outing, one I hope to replicate in the future.

Yelp
The crab dip wasn't the greatest. The pizza was a pleasant surprise though. Laid back atmosphere with a mix of young and old. Beer selection on draft isn't superb (10 selections) but the coolers are well-stocked. Most of the staff was kind, one was unpleasant.

Yelp
Just have to update my review to commend The Fridge for adapting their business to meet COVID guidelines, enforce the rules and make their guest feel safe. All tables have been removed from inside. They have an employee standing by the fridge to get your beer for you. The tables in the outside tented areas are spatially distanced and QR code's on each table. Food purchase is required at some point during your stay.

Yelp
Fanatastic! What a great beer selection and they have food that I can eat since I am not a carnivore. That combination is really hard to find. Love the flatbread pizza. The vegan burger was the best I have ever had! The staff is super helpful about beer selection and we really enjoyed talking to the owner. Ambiance is perfect....on the small side which is my preference. Wish we lived closer!

Yelp
A strong 4.25. I've been stopping in here for the better part of 6 years when I'm in town from Virginia and have always loved this spot as a "beer guy". It's a cool cozy space to grab beer to go, have a pour and some food. When it's cold out, they've got some wood stoves fired up to warm up. The draft list is always well managed. They've always got a healthy selection of IPAs, stouts, porters, etc. most of which are local to the PA area. They even manage to get a few Hill Farmstead taps from time to time. My one gripe are the price points on can singles to go are absurd. There is a great selection but the prices per can are painful. The craft IPA/DIPAs that id be interested in leaving with range from $7-$12...per can! Good for them if they have no trouble getting those cans out the door relatively fresh but that markup is just too much. Anyhow, I'm there for the draft nowadays which is always rotating and tasteful. You can even get a flight. I'll see you guys next visit!

Yelp
Excellent spot to explore craft beers. I used to live down the street and would walk over to pick up mix and matched six packs. It's a great spot in town for lunch as well. They have a roasted veggie sandwich with delicious avocado hummus that is to die for! The location is small but has indoor and outdoor seating. Great little spot.

Yelp
I often stop here on my trips to Lancaster. I have made 3 stops during COVID. If I'm staying next door at the Arts Hotel I order online & then just walk over & pick it up. In the summer they added more outdoor tables & umbrella tables and I sat out of the sidewalk which was delightful. In Oct & Dec I ordered my fave cremini mushroom, kale, gruyere & garlic oil pizza. The personal size is plenty for 1-2 & the large is big enough for 3-4. Their website is up to date on all COVID measures & restrictions in place. They have added "garage space" and a heated outdoor tent to accommodate more diners. In early December I literally called in my order from their parking lot & it was ready in 15 min, pizza & beer to go! Oh they have crowlers & growlers and a zillion cans. I recommend Levante Cloudy & Cumbersome IPA.

Yelp
I went to the fridge for the first time on a Friday afternoon to meet friends and loved it! Super fun atmosphere and I have never seen so many beers in one place locally. Beers are organized by location which is so fun. They also had ciders--I recommended the Blueberry cider--and cocktails. They have a small food menu that includes personal pizzas and mini cupcakes from Lancaster cupcake. Vegan options too! There is some outdoor seating as well which would be nice on a warm day. When we first arrived around 3 it was very quiet but definitely picked up during happy hour. I really enjoyed the experience and I'm looking forward to going back!

Yelp
Fun place. Nice people. Good beer. Chill. But speaking of chill, you cannot refrigerate fresh mozzarella. It toughens it. If you're unaware of this issue, order a pizza here, and when you confront leathery, chewy cheese, you'll understand what happened.

Courtney S.

Yelp
This was such a cool place with a great selection of beer! The pizzas were absolutely delicious though the popcorn left a lot to be desired. The spice on the popcorn was bland and flat. Overall I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The Fridge is a fantastic hangout place. Pizzas, hotdogs and lots of craft and imported beers. What more could you ask for. When you arrive, there's parking on the right side of the building otherwise it's street parking. You can order any of their fabulous pizzas or just grab a fresh slice. Pick your favourite beverage out of the Fridge. Pay or run a tab. Don't forget to enjoy.
google avatar

Eileen S.

Yelp
The Fridge has a wonderful and fun vibe- the perfect place to hangout with numerous beers and delicious and simple food. Their draft list is amazing!
google avatar

Leah B.

Yelp
The pizza was great. I got a margherita, which was crispy and cheesy and delicious. The space at The Fridge was nice, and I liked that they've added more outdoor-type space. It wasn't a huge deal for us, but we did have to wait about 50 minutes for one pizza and an hour for the other, so I wouldn't recommend this if you're on a tight timeline.
google avatar

Yelp
My 4 stars are for their beer collection. For Food - I would say they do not have alot of choice. But again this place is known for their beer collection. From what I was told their collections change based on seasons. I am a huge fan of Hefeweizen and it being May 13th they were barely carrying any fruity beers as yet. It was Mother's Day and we took hike to The Fridge to celebrate after exploring other side of Lancaster. The staff is extremely helpful and provided great customer service. In beer husband and I ordered Collusion; where as daughter ordered Blueberry Shandy. We picked 6 pack mix and match on our way out. In food we ordered Portobello mushrooms flat bread pizza. Husband and I liked it. Daughter not so much. Like I said this place is good for beer collection but a little pricey and limited choice for food.

Yelp
I love this charming little spot! It's a little small but with lots of tables and a small patio with outdoor seating. They have several fridges that you can browse through for bottles of hundreds of types of beer and cider. (My favorite is Dirty Little Freak, a vanilla bean lager with a dark flavor that isn't too bitter.) In addition, they serve the most delicious pizza. It's thin crust with several varieties including chicken, kale, mushroom, ricotta... the list is endless. The pizza is very flavorful, but sits out and doesn't taste super fresh unless you order a pizza that has just run out and is being made. Either way, still very good. The prices are all reasonable-bottles are around $4-5, and pizza slices are around $3. Bonus! There was something wrong with my slice of pizza, so they made me a whole new pizza and gave me the whole thing! They were super friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Love everything about this place!!! Awesome vibes and great food. I really like the people who work here too. Very inclusive vibes all around which is a nice change of pace in this area

David R.

Yelp
Awesome place. Best pizza around. Lots of different types of beer and drinks. Recommended

Yelp
Atlanta needs a place like this. But noooo Lancaster gets it! It isn't quite a bar. Isn't quite a sit down pizza joint. Isn't quite a carry out. But it is wonderful. The show stopper is the beer and cider selection. Not just local brews but from all over the country. Hands down the best cider selection I have ever seen. You can pop open a bottle and hang out with the nice staff or grab it to go (wish you could ship!). Pizza is very good and a great gluten free option for the hubby. You can tell they enjoy good beer and cider and if you need help can point you in the right direction. This and Root's farmers market are my must do's when in the area.
google avatar

Mike P.

Yelp
Amazing beer selection and chill vibes. Excellent food, excited to come back and try more. Great place for lunch and a drink just to relax. Almost has a coffee lounge feel to it. Don't have kids but saw a decent amount there so kid friendly for anyone that was wondering.

Yelp
We're from out of town but it seems like bad service is a thing in this city. The service at this place was not friendly to say the least. We felt like we were bothering them. The manager (maybe owner?) welcomed us but the girl behind the counter seemed preoccupied, even when we talked directly to her. Pizza was decent but if someone asked me if I'd go back I'd prefer to try somewhere else. This place would probably be a last resort. If you're looking for a wide variety of drinks they've got you covered so I'm guessing that's what all the good reviews are from.
google avatar

Jusyin W.

Yelp
Man their waffles are the best in Lancaster. Although I would rather eat their tacos and pizza. Recently after an article was ran by the local newspaper discussing issues faced by Covid certain people whom have not eaten or even visited are writing negative reviews, accused of being racist, accusing the owner of being a Bono look alike and even damaging their outdoor tent... we've lived a block away and have been regulars for years. If anything the Fridge is welcoming to all. They have gone steps beyond to be Covid safe and some people may not like this. If this is you go eat somewhere else. Kevin the owner said it best I will not be taking down negative reviews or engaging them, those who know us know who we are. This is so true and it's just sad that certain people would rather try to disrupt other people's lives by writing negative reviews. You want good beer, great food and a friendly staff then head to there. If it's your first time let them know so they can show you the ropes and help you out!!
google avatar

Nat L.

Yelp
Great spot to grab a beer. There's a massive fridge with a hefty selection of craft beers in bottles or cans and you take your pick and bring it up to the counter. There's also usually 4-6 beers on tap, as well as some fresh flat bread pizzas and tacos or sandwiches of the night. Great atmosphere and cool place overall.
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, food, and brews. Just a good chill vibe and happy folks everywhere you look!
google avatar

F. L.

Yelp
The pizza is not really pizza, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's incredibly thin and crisp, to the point where it's really more of a flatbread, but the toppings are fresh and flavorful, which is what really counts. Definitely worthwhile food as food. I'm not an expert on alcohol (I honestly don't really care much for beer) but there were certainly a lot of options, and I was pleased to be able to choose from a few different ciders, including one that's not over-the-top sweet in the way so many ciders are.
google avatar

Naresh N.

Yelp
Good spot and great food. The chicken white bean chili is hit, and the personal pizza was excellent. We will be coming again before we leave Lancaster.

Yelp
My husband and I finally got to come to the Fridge a week ago and it was the perfect spot for a Friday night: We were exhausted from the week, just wanted a few drinks and craving some "hang out" food. This was PERFECT. Obviously, The Fridge has an amazing fridge full of an insane variety of beers AND ciders which made me super happy. Then their food, which the gal behind the counter was very nice about explaining to a bunch of newbs how to order. Their pizza is nice and thin, not too crazy or heavy. Love their pickled beets too. Just great snack food and wonderful beer selection. Also nice to sit outside.

Sandra G.

Yelp
BEST GOURMET PIZZAS ever!!! I just love every single one!!! The crust is not just delicious but really thin -(which I personally prefer)-, but the combination of ingredients is soooo TASTY, ORIGINAL, UNIQUE and on top of that: HEALTHY! Large variety of local and imported beers and ciders!!! Although the menu is not very vast, between the delicious food, nice ambience and beer variety, what they have to offer is just enough to enjoy every visit! One of my favorite places in Lancaster!!!
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
This place can be hit or miss food wise. Have had good pizza here and have had some that was not so good and even cold. Good beer selection and some decent sandwich options as well.
google avatar

Billy V.

Yelp
Amazing beer selection that rivals almost anywhere else in the world. The food is solid and the owners and staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. That being said, my only complaint is the size which is of no fault of anyone but seating is generally difficult to find during the most popular hours.
google avatar

Novianti B.

Yelp
Nice place to hang out. Delish pizza (tried kale, mushroom, cheese pizza), our group enjoyed the beer selection. Staffs were very attentive and friendly!!! Highly recommended when you all in Lancaster PA

Jennifer J.

Yelp
First time customer just passing through but OMG I wish this place existed in my neighborhood (Manhattan). Edamame hummus and veggie pizza were ridiculously delicious. Even the kids were pleased. Thank you!
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
A really good to hangout and have a really great time and drink a nice crazy beers salud..

Thomas Z.

Yelp
I ordered a half of a cuban sandwich and was unaware that by "half" they not only mean half of a sandwich but also half the meat. My cuban had 1 slice of ham and maybe a single ounce of pulled pork, and that's being generous. It actually had more pickles than meat. Luckily, I ordered a pizza, which was decent, and it was the only thing that kept me from returning to the store to get my money back or to have a new one made. Ridiculous I paid almost $7 for a half of a pickle and mayo sandwich.
google avatar

Cory H.

Yelp
This store blows. I drove half an hour to get there just to get a growler fill of this specific beer. I have a 32 oz. growler that I've filled at dozens of places and the staff claimed it couldn't be filled because the neck was too small. Are you kidding me? And then you don't even have 32 oz. growlers for purchase? Their pizza is as crunchy as a triscuit. The beer prices are some of the highest I've seen in the country and I've travelled across most of it. Avoid.
google avatar

Kurt I.

Yelp
Four stars for the beer selection, two stats for having literally zero things for me to eat. I like this place. Clean, fresh looking, good location, great prices. I'll def come back with friends. The beer selection was the best I've seen in the Lancaster area. Like truly awesome. I suggested to the truly sweet people working there to carry a dairy free selection for those of us who can't consume said products. She said this wasn't the first request and that they are now considering it. Please do! It's brand new - I'm eager to see which direction it heads.
google avatar

Dakota H.

Yelp
Edamame Hummus is to die for... I literally have dreams about it. Love the concept and atmosphere of this laid back bottle shop. Food is delicious as well.
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
Wonderfully casual place to eat. Walk up and order at the counter. Great healthy gourmet pizzas and unique lighter fare. I enjoyed the chicken tacos with salsa Verde and pickled red onions. 2 for $8. The taco variety changes (the other option tonight was a pork with Chipotle fig and pineapple salsa). They also have multiple varieties of gourmet pizzas, including some great vegetarian options. Some are regular on the counter others are nightly creations. I got a cranberry orange margarita off the specialty cocktail menu, but standard is wine or a bottle of beer from the multiple "fridge" doors. Fun place with lots of regulars. It can get busy and although there is outdoor counter seating, during the winter it is a bit cramped and hard to find a seat during busy times. There is a wonderful seating area around a wood stove.
google avatar

Kristof T.

Yelp
Exceptional. I have been here several times and it never disappoints. The layout is funky and cute - there's even a fireplace! I've had the great pizzas several times and they're always topped with interesting freshness: sweet potato, zucchini, kale, hummus, portobello, crimini...you can't go wrong! And the beer selection is second to none ( got an awesome "evil smoosh" ipa today). Today my friend and I came for a burger. What an experience: two mouthwatering explosions- "bat out of hell" (spicy aioli, bacon, arugula, copper cheese) and "yeeeeehaw" (bacon-jalapeño cream cheese, tomato lettuce onion). Wish I could have ordered mine medium cooked ( they were both well done), but I loved it all the same. Service is perfect. Keep it up!!!

Yelp
Since my last review about 6 months ago we have truly become regulars here. We come here at least once a week. It is truly the greatest hidden gem in this whole freakin city. I love you Fridge. Please never change.
google avatar

Rick K.

Yelp
It's funny, because in 2012 when I first reviewed The Fridge I would have no way of knowing that it would be one of my solaces and safe havens when in the city. I would end up moving across the street a few years later. The selection is obviously the focal point here: it probably offers the widest selection for a bottle shop outside of Philadelphia. Kevin and Skully are always keeping things interesting and fresh. Hill Farmstead in Pennsylvania? Sure, why not? The Fridge was also one of the first taprooms to carry Tired Hands on draught (not to mention they pretty much have a dedicated tap line for the brewery). For a beer lover this is heaven. Don't overlook the food either. Yes, everyone talks about their flatbreads, but the small chalkboard on the wall to the right of the counter is where it's at. If they're offering a sandwich special, get it. Also, the hot dogs are so, so delicious and great if you're feeling peckish. The best time to come here is during the day because you can almost always find a seat. At night, finding a table or even a chair can be a bit rival, but be patient fellow beer lover, the wait is worth it.
