Expectation/Reality: The rooms and the photos were pretty close, and you will get pretty much what you expect. The bed is a foam top which isn't bad.Security: Generally secure. No safe, and the key is attached to the bracelet, but the location and the space felt secure.Hygiene: Generally good. You may have to ask for fresh towels, but the space itself was clean.Hospitality: Quite good, everyone speaks english and is fairly competent.Social Atmosphere: WARNING this is a party hostel. Music will be playing until mid night, so if you want to sleep early you need very good ear plugs. There's lots of events and lots of people to socialize with, typically they are around 21-22 years old, but there are older and younger, generally a good crowd. The volunteers organizing the events are just OK and doing their job, not the most keen or enthusiastic, but reasonably good enough.Overall: Good value for a private room. Good location to see the touristy sights. BEWARE don't book transport through the hostel. It seems convenient but it not a good experience. You get picked up by a tuk tuk, dropped off outside of town and wait by the side of the road were no one speaks english to get into a jam packed into van with broken AC, and no one speaks english, the van left about an hour behind schedule and when arriving at Phnom Penh, it was a dodgy experience, getting into another van alone to be dropped off into the next hostel. It was an uncomfortable adventure, but I did arrive safe, but if i did it again I would book transport through a provider with more direct responsibility.

Perfect location and staff organised events. Most things are within walking distance of this hostel. Very social. Positive atmosphere. Can be loud but that’s the vibe of the hostel! Two bars, night lights, music, variety of cocktails and affordable. Staff are very helpful if you need help with anything. Reception always happy to help or bar staff. We did a sunrise tour of Angkor Wat, absolutely beautiful views. Affordable and worth the early start. Completely unmissable event. They have a coach come pick you up from the hostel. Great way to meet friends when travelling.

The hostel was pretty average, if slightly run down. Given one star because the hostel staff don’t care about the safety of solo travellers. One girl who was travelling alone while we were there got far too drunk, and had passed out (eyes open, unresponsive) and we were saying we needed to call for medical help. Both hostel workers were trying to convince us that it wasn’t necessary. BEWARE SOLO TRAVELLERS! Cannot trust them to take care of you.

Best hostel I’ve stayed at on my travels! Amazing facilities and loads of events for a great price including the sunset tour and pub crawl where I met some friends for life. All the staff especially Lola were incredibly accommodating. Perfect location for everything you want to do and to top it off loads of coupons for loads of different places and facilities!! Even though a party hostel our room super close to the music we couldn’t hear a thing and rooms always clean. Stay at funky village for the best stay in Siam reap🫶🏼🫶🏼🌸

I have to give a huge shoutout to front desk worker Mai, who was SO helpful and funny and nice every time I went up to the desk. Gave me great advice on tours and how to get to my next city. Give him some love for me, cause he’s always there! The whole team is really great and responsive.

Great for solo travellers, very social place and the staff are very friendly. My one and only negative about this place is the fact that in the 10 bed dorm the top bunk did not have curtains. Recommend this place for anyone in Siem Reap

if you want to sleep, don't go to this hostel!! We stayed for 6 nights in a private room. They have loud music right below the windows until 12-1am and they keep repeating it's a party hostel, but nowhere online do they specify it's just the party and not a hostel!! Seedy dudes hanging around, foreign staff is only partying and not actually working. Internet was not working at all in our room, and the coworking was right next to the loud music. Such a joke! Also let us not forget the "lock" to the room is an actual padlock, like it's the 1800s or something. Ants were everywhere in the room, as were other bugs. Not clean. Towels and linens were very old. The rooms are located in an adjacent building where dogs are let free in the courtyard that you have to pass through to get out or to the reception. Worst experience in 2 months of traveling through Asia. Really, if you only want to get drunk with college dudes, this is the place.
