Popped in here last night before heading home and so glad we did! Atmosphere was awesome and the bartender was even better! Corinne took care of us and made us feel right at home. She was so great we’ll definitely visit again!!

First off one of my local favorites as a person who lives in upper east. On top of that We filmed a short film 🎥 here. Absolutely amazing, owners were great to work with and very flexible. All around and amazing place, would recommend to anyone!

Stopped by on a cold winter night after a day at the Met and we had a great time.

Great no frills sports bar. Service was solid. Prices a bit high for what it is, but that’s only because of where it’s located. Would definitely return if I find myself in the area again.

Miss this place...25 years ago...was ...." all that, and a bag of chips"...now...fun friendly..low key...TIP KENNY WELL!!!

Casey is the best bar tender!!! Not only did be make sure we loved our drinks, prices were reasonable, and service was outstanding (there was a belligerent guest, who he took care of without fuss to the vibe). Overall, chill and nice bar w darts and decent drinks.

Cozy bar to hang out with locals and bartenders are great. Also a good spot to watch the games with lots of Tv's, jukebox and games for when the party begins.

This is your average local sports bar. Many locals here when I came as they seemed to all know the bartender and each other. This is not a big bar but they do you quite a bit of bar seating. This place has some games in the back like pac-man and it seems to be a great place to play darts. They have two boards set up. There are many awards up for dart leagues. The bartenders seemed friendly which is a plus. This is one bar in the neighborhood I don't visit often at all. Maybe that will change in the future.

We just stopped here for drinks. We wanted someplace warm, quiet and chill. It satisfied all categories. It also has a good clientele and a good and friendly bartender. We will definitely go back!

Good place for NYC trivia night! There are plenty of seats for you and your friends/ teammates to join in the fun.

Short Review: Great neighborhood bar! Longer Review: I don't drink but I pass by this place every day and it is always bustling! I REALLY NOTICE typography, signage, lettering etc. and one of their chalk signs assaulted my eyes (they even apologized on the sign writing: "I have terrible handwriting" and that made me guffaw and LOL. I awkwardly went in (I am not smooth) and suggested I'd do their signs for free. They did not take me up on the offer but they were very kind & friendly and the bar looks great! And now their signs are adequate! Check out their PATIO!

Good beer, friendly bartender, dart boards, flat-screens with the games on, and a chill casual neighborhood vibe. What more could you want out of a local Irish pub? They have persevered through the pandemic with some tables and heat lamps outside on the sidewalk. A far cry from the fun time we had here for St Patrick's Day in 2019, and the occasional after work brew. Hoping for a better 2021 to take a stool at the bar inside and relax with a cold one.

The bartender on late night Friday isn't a friendly individual. Please do not go. If you're not white, he will not serve you... he has his little goons at the bar to protect him if you say anything that he doesn't like... you're better off going to somewhere else...

No frills, no bros and zero bullshit. What more could you ask for. This place has what you need...and darts, oh, plenty of darts. Good stuff. Enjoyed myself a bit too much here and I wasnt the only one. There was a great crew of people, each looking to chase their own dragons, and thats a good thing. Most enjoyable. Most fun. Most non-UES joint around (also a good thing).

Great casual neighborhood Irish pub with a contemporary feel, jukebox with great feel good music, darts and a very friendly bartender. A number of televisions airing different sports games. They changed locations from their previous upper east side spot. Recommend as a chill neighborhood spot or to watch games

We had some friends and family here after the marathon and it was the best experience! The staff was so accommodating and super nice. The atmosphere was really great as well as the drinks. Great place for both outdoor and indoor seating. Good for small and big groups too.

Cute ladies, handsome boys! Juke box is off the hook, Brian the Host is out of control accommodating and friendly. For nfl they give out free wings! Can't say enough on this joint! Only wish I live close by- the again no! I would be in rehab! Do not miss this place if you want to meet people and hit busy! Balls ass operation! First class YO!

This bar had a good vibe to it on a Saturday. TVs were on with various games. Lots of great options for beer. I would recommend the summer shandy. Bartender was friendly, too!

Lol this place is a neighborhood bar that is super relaxed very chill. It's almost the definition of a dive bar. Prices aren't bad, beers are cold and flowing at your own convince. There might be good but I can't be sure for certain. I came here with a friend of I'm after dinner for a quick drink and it's what was absolutely needed in the area. If I lived in the area this would be my dive bar is call my second living room.

I never come to the UES, but I'm glad I found The GAF. After Manny's didn't have an inch of air for us to breathe - we found this quaint place showing all sorts of football on their TVs. The bartender was sweet and the crowd was random. We were in. Note: their kitchen was closed (New Year's Day), but the bartender gladly gave me his binder of take-out menus and was more than happy to have us order a disgusting amount of messy wings and eat them. Big points in my book! Also, buybacks, even on pitchers? Marry me.

No food, but great beer and atmosphere. Plan on coming back to watch football. Solid Irish Pub

I don't usually hang in the UES but a friend of mine was having a "going away" get together so I made the trek up from Brooklyn. It literally felt like I was walking into my neighborhood bar once I walked in. The bartenders were super friendly, the drinks were great and priced well (not to mention the buy backs). Bar food isn't my favorite but I was so hungry that I decided to check out the menu. To my amazement, they had a great selection of food options that you wouldn't normally expect from a bar. I had the Bacon Cheddar Ranch Burger which included bits of applewood smoked bacon all throughout the burger (TO DIE FOR). I also had an order of Bourbon Maple Glazed wings which were absolutely like nothing I've every had before - AMAZING!!! The kitchen is a fairly new addition to the bar, so the Chef came out asking people how they were enjoying the food. He introduced himself as Wolfe and at first glance you could see why they named him, Wolfe. He's a big man but once we got to know him, we realized he's just a big ole teddy bear. haha... Wolfe was nice enough to explain how everything is made, bought us a drink and by the end of the night he was hanging with everyone in the bar. I have to say, If it weren't because I live in Brooklyn I would go to this bar all of the time. I highly recommend people visit whether you're a local or visiting from out of town. You are guaranteed to have a great time and wonderful food. If you can see this Wolfe, thanks again man!

Locals pub with a relaxed atmosphere, not pretentious. The bar staff were really friendly and attentive. I had a paper bag that broke in the rain and they were kind enough to offer me a plastic bag they found lying around for me to put my stuff in. Many thanks!

Great casual pub on the UES. It's kind of between dive bar and pub. Great place to see games, have a neighborhood feel and kick back.

The only Dart bar in NYC.... play the best of the best!!!!!! You haven't thrown darts until you have played here ....

One of the best bars we found during our recent trip to NYC. Great service, reasonable prices and open late what more can one ask for? Will be returning for sure.

I went in last week for the first time as my kitchen was being renovated looking for a quick reasonably priced meal. What I found was an amazing bacon encrusted burger (they mean encrusted, not 2 or 3 strips the burger is literally encrusted in bacon and then charbroiled) served with delicious fresh definitely not frozen hot and crispy fries. I also have to mention the friendly bartender and welcoming regulars. I decided to go in again tonight and had another great burger and some great conversation with the bartender, the chef, and a couple of the regulars. After talking to the chef and smelling them next time I am definitely giving the short rib sliders a try This place will definitely be added to my regular rotation for a quick and delicious meal even after my kitchen is back and operational!

Please don't come to the gaf. We love it here and it would really suck if other people found out about this place. And now that they have one of the best burgers in the UES (If not manhattan), we'd be really bummed if the place got too crowded. Really, please don't come. Don't come for the jovial bartenders. Don't come for the cheap beer. Don't come for the great food. Oh okay fine. Come. Please come. Friends are always welcome. We'd love to have you.

The Gaf East is a great mix of regulars and people just stopping in. The bartenders are all super friendly and there always seems to be good craic. The new location is definitely an upgrade and when the subway construction is done it will be even better. This is the type of place you can stop in for a pint and have a good conversation with the bartender and strangers. The juke box plays upbeat tunes and the prices are very reasonable.

Do not order a drink here spend your money else where. The bar is definitely a dive bar but the service is awful. They are rude and treat anyone that is not a regular like a tourist.

Apparently GAF means living room in Gaelic. And that's exactly how it feels here. Comfortable environment. But most of all phenomenal Bar Food. Unique and delicious spins on your favorite bar foods. Just plain AWESOME!!!!!

First time here and it wont be the last. Great bar, great music. Sara was awesome behind the bad. Great crowd that has convinced me to come back and join the dart league. Perfect Sunday Funday.

One of my favorite bars... it's a locals dive bar with dart boards and space for dancing in the back. They also just opened a nice little patio in the back yard which is great for some summer day drinking.

Old school Irish pub. That really don't make them like this anymore. Has an old man crowd earlier in the day but becomes younger as it gets later. Usually open late on weekends. The new backyard is a nice place to hangout if the weather is warm. Best dart set up in NYC.

I am only writing here because of the menu. I don't know what they've changed but I went last night and there were no burgers on the menu. Only wings, some mac and cheese options and starters and sides. We opted not to eat here so I don't know if it was good, just be warned that the great food everyone else mentions in their reviews aren't options anymmore

This place is excellent. We are from out of town with friends. Bar is so much fun. We played darts all night and are two full orders of wings and waffle fries. Bartender is great and very personable. Well worth the visit.

Was excited to try this place because the reviews are so good and I love darts, but alas I'm very disappointed. I came in with my good friend and we asked what the happy hour was. He muttered "domestic drafts until 7." Not very specific at all; maybe next time say how much the drafts are and which ones?? I'm glad that the white business men are enjoying it but not for me! enjoy the darts, men!! :-) #bye

This is an open invitation to Bobby Flay's "throwdown" challenge!!!.. I recently just had the most amazing bacon burger at this Yorkville bar. Chef Wolf delivered this unbelievable bacon encrusted burger...I mean encrusted on both sides with bacon and served with fries that were twice fried to golden perfection. Too all you Zagat loyalist and Food Net work junkies - this bacon burger could be the one that will top Top all burgers in our NYC dining universe....and by the way his entire menu is also off the hook !!!!!!!!!

I have been following the Gaf since I first moved to NYC and they were on 85th Street! I feel quite comfortable there - and always welcome :-) No attitudes here - just a laid back atmosphere when you need to unwind. I am a travel nurse between Fort Lauderdale and NYC and I will always make it a point to stop in at the Gaf while I am here! They have plenty of restaurant menus if you want to eat at the bar.

GREAT FOOD!! Such an awesome menu! The food is really delicious. Such a fun atmosphere. Great place definitely a must! Chef is a such a personable guy. Awesome, just awesome.
