The 15 Best Hotels in Savannah, Georgia

"It's impossible not to be awed by The Galloway House Inn, a historic mansion. The huge, two-story pillars and immaculate topiary give visitors the impression that they're about to experience something very special. This is an all-suite property with discrete entrances for every suite. Our Caroline Suite had a bedroom, living area, kitchen, and bathroom. The overall decor blended contemporary and rustic pieces. Each suite is different, though, with some filled with antiques and others more bohemian. If you’ve seen the delights of downtown before and want a different Savannah experience, this is the place. It's hard to imagine a better version of local hospitality." - Paul Oswell

Galloway House Inn

"Why did this hotel catch your attention? It's impossible not to be awed by The Galloway House Inn, a historic mansion. The huge, two-story pillars and immaculate topiary give visitors the impression that they're about to experience something very special. What's the backstory? The house dates to 1895 and after a succession of owners, sat empty for a while before it was bought by current owner-operator Keith Galloway, who runs the place with his partner Jim Klotz. The Galloway House has been a real labor of love, and that work has paid off in spades: It's one of the finest inns of its kind in the South. Tell us about the rooms. This is an all-suite property with discrete entrances for every suite. Our Caroline Suite had a bedroom, living area, kitchen, and bathroom. The overall decor blended contemporary and rustic pieces. Each suite is different, though, with some filled with antiques and others more bohemian. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi?The Wi-Fi is free and fast. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at?A continental breakfast includes standard bagels, muffins, and coffee and tea. There are plenty of other food options within walking distance, too. How was the service?Galloway himself couldn't be a more welcoming host, lending restaurant suggestions to everyone, regardless of whether they're a first-time guest or a repeat visitor. What type of travelers will you find here? The hotel draws an affluent, mature crowd that values privacy and space, rather than the communal vibes of a huge full-service hotel. What about the neighborhood? Does the hotel fit in, make itself part of the scene? The hotel, on the edges of the main historic district, sits in a quiet, residential neighborhood that fans of tranquility (and walking) will love. Forsyth Park is only a short walk away, and the rest of downtown is very accessible. Any other hotel features worth noting?A stay at a Southern mansion isn’t complete without sipping a cocktail on a front porch—and that's particularly delightful here. Bottom line: Worth it? Why?If it’s your first time in the city, you might consider staying somewhere more in the thick of it, but if you’ve seen the delights of downtown before and want a different Savannah experience, this is the place. It's hard to imagine a better version of local hospitality." - Paul Oswell

We were just at the Galloway House Inn last week to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in Savannah. Overall we had a great time in Savannah, and staying at Galloway House Inn was the foundation to a wonderful week. Just close enough to downtown to access everything, but just far enough to be a calm refuge with southern charm. Keith was great welcoming us and being accessible for any questions we had. He was even gracious enough to let us meet Hudson one afternoon on the classy inviting front porch, their very sweet Great Dane (we have two, so a welcome puppy fix). Own room, Then Renwick Suite, was the perfect size to be comfortable and cozy and again was very charming. The next time we go to Savannah, this is where we will be.

We just spent the week here celebrating our 20th anniversary in Savannah. The Galloway house was great. Very charming, loved the location, close enough to downtown but also quiet and calm. Keith made us feel very welcome and was ready to answer any questions. Also, it was a treat to meet his Great Dane as we needed a puppy fix leaving ours at home. Highly recommend.

Such a relaxing stay during our honeymoon! The owners were extremely accommodating and responsive. This was the most clean suite I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. You could tell the attention to detail on cleanliness was present. Not a speck of dust on anything. I felt very comfortable.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay in the lovely carriage house. Just perfect for two, with all the amenities and a great location, easy to get anywhere you'd like to be in Savannah. Quiet and beautiful, we loved it. This city is a amazing and the Galloway House fits right in.

We had a great trip to Savannah. The Galloway was perfect in every way. Jim and Keith are kind and helpful and will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. The neighborhood was perfect for us, giving us a better sense of what it might be like to live in Savannah, but certainly close enough to the touristy stuff.

My boyfriend and I had a great time here! We stayed in the upper level of the guest house and it was so nice to have our own private entrance. The hosts communicated with us via text, but they would have come and met with us in person if we weren't being so anti-social. :) Everything was great and it was nice to have a little kitchen to use for our two-night stay. Instead of going out to eat we Doordashed some groceries one night. There were two window A/C units in the space that kept it nice and cool on an 87° day. In terms of location, you're about a mile and a half away from downtown Savannah, which is walkable if you're into that, or a quick Uber if you're not. There is no nightlife in the immediate two-block radius but that also helps with the lack of noise.

We made a good choice staying at the Galloway House. Parking was easy and there was no extra charge. The Carriage House had everything we needed to cook our own meals and sleep comfortably. We used the free trolley to reach the historic district but we also enjoyed walking around the Galloway House neighborhood. There were lots of restuarants and we stopped for a flight of beer at Two Tides. We even checked out the public library just one block away.

My mom and I scheduled a last-minute trip to Savannah, and we were lucky that the Galloway House had availability. We stayed in the Renwick Suite above the carriage house. To access it, we walked on the brick path in the lush back garden and ascended one flight of stairs. The suite is private and we couldn't hear anyone below us.||Our stay was absolutely lovely! The combined sitting room/kitchen was elegantly appointed in Savannah style. My teenagers would rave that "the vibes are immaculate." ;) It was perfectly clean, the king mattress was very comfortable, and the bedding was high quality. We appreciated that the kitchen was stocked with water bottles and cofffee.||We loved being in a quiet residential area instead of frenetic tourist districts. We walked most places. We ate breakfast at Big Bon Bodega across the square several times and enjoyed Bull Street Taco. The Galloway House is just over a mile to downtown, and there are so many charming restaurants and shops along the way. ||Jim and Keith were so gracious and accommodating. We enjoyed meeting them. This place is an absolute gem for a serene and sophisticated visit. We will stay here again if we have the privilege to return to Savannah.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay in the Caroline Suite, on the first floor of the adjacent carriage house. This is a one bedroom apartment, with your own bathroom, kitchenette, and living room. It was adorably furnished, with wi-fi and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in while traveling. You will not get accommodations of this caliber in any of the chains downtown--and with free parking, also! The furnishings and towels are of the highest caliber. Being out of the way of downtown allows the traveler to enjoy a more local's experience as there are several walkable restaurants nearby that cater more to the local crowd. As this is a privately owned inn, the owners live on-site and are especially particular. Outside guests are generally not allowed on property-I had to get special permission to invite a friend over one evening. Guests are "never to sleep on the sofas," and you are assigned a particular check-in time. These rules, while understandable, may not work for every traveler. Also, some of the walkways and accommodations are not handicapped accessible. You will want to inquire with the owners if you have any mobility concerns. Staying at the Galloway House Inn will afford you very nice accommodations in a lovely neighborhood at a great price--offset by some particularities that might not work for your situation. I found the owners to be very open about these, so it's best to ask about them before you book. Their cancellation policies are especially rigid compared to other inns in the area. For a certain traveler, Galloway House is a lovely place to stay!

Yelp
We loved our stay at the Galloway House. It was beautiful and comfortable. The large front porch was our main congregating area. The location was perfect as well. I would recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
1. The property was not as advertised--The proprietor assured us the property was well equipped and ready for long-term stays and that it was in a safe and award-winning neighborhood. It was most certainly not. When calling to his attention that the suite was lacking basic needs for us to stay 30-days he said "well this place isn't set up for stays more than a few days" in spite of the fact that he assured us at the time of booking it was. We were also told there was laundry access, but when we arrived we were told we couldn't use them and to use the laundromat down the street. It took us repeated requests before they granted us access to their appliances. Regarding the neighborhood, it was far from picturesque and safe. In fact, when I walked across the street to get coffee, my fiance was accosted by one of the homeless men who were living in the park 50 years away. Also, on our second night at the property, we went to the grocery store down the street where there were several police officers involved in a confrontation, arrest. It was the antithesis of "safe." 2. It was not equipped for us to work there--When booking the accommodations, we repeatedly told them we were running our respective businesses from that location and were assured multiple times that cell reception and wi-fi were strong. The reality was that neither worked whatsoever rendering it impossible for either of us to run our companies while there. When we brought it to his attention the morning after check-in, he told us we should have traveled with our own wi-fi hotspots and that it was adequate. In fact, the reception was so poor that our call kept getting cut off when filing the complaint with the credit card company. We ran wi-fi speed tests and the results were a fraction of what is considered acceptable. We requested that the host purchase wifi boosters to make the wifi suitable for working from home; he refused to do so. 3. Extraordinary circumstances - While none of this was disclosed prior, during our walk-through the proprietor revealed that a previous owner hanged himself in our suite. It made us extremely uncomfortable and it was clear that he intentionally withheld this information revealing it only after collecting our fees. Also, what was also not disclosed was the fact that the owners had 2 giant Great Danes that ran around the upstairs at all hours of the day and night as well as ongoing construction happening mere feet away from our bedroom all day nullifying our right to peaceful enjoyment. 4. We were caused undue stress - When peacefully confronting the proprietor the morning following check in with our observations, he became argumentative and antagonistic, creating a hostile environment of animosity, causing me to have several panic attacks over three days we stayed there. They also had surveillance cameras on property which felt like an eerie invasion of our privacy. 5. They did not live up to their commitment of re-listing the property - On two occasions we asked the proprietor to re-list the property and let us out of the rental agreement, he assured us both in person and on the phone and via email that he would re-list the property and would refund us any nights he was able to rebook. We vacated after only 3 nights due to all the reasons cited above and notified the host that we were vacating via email on November 24th at 1pm EST. HE NEVER RE-LISTED THE PROPERTY. We checked daily and it was never re-listed. After 3 days of us not being able to adequately work, sleep, live or safely walk the neighborhood, we elected to vacate the property and take the matter up with the credit card company citing the reasons above for disputing the charge to our card. The merchant was informed of this fact on 11/24/21 at 1pm EST (please see attached email). He never replied to us and never re-listed the property as he had promised to do, and we were out the entire $8,112.50.

Yelp
Horrible experience. I never write reviews, but I stayed here with some girlfriends on a very low key bachelorette weekend and the owner of the place turned out to be super controlling and very unprofessional. I felt very uncomfortable and honestly scared and uneasy after realizing he came into our rooms while we were gone throughout the day and stole some of our things. We eventually got them back, but it was a very frustrating ordeal. I am only writing this to ensure others don't encounter the same experience. One of the weirdest weekends of my life haha.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay in the Remington Suite. The 2 bedroom apartment is huge, luxurious, comfortable, clean and lovely- one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. The beautiful neighborhood is a 10 or so minute walk to Forsyth Park, the heart of Savannah, and near lots of restaurants. Keith and Jim are knowledgeable, gracious hosts. Their attention to detail is impressive. We ate breakfast a couple of times in the well equipped kitchen. They provided us with bottle water, cream for our coffee, and beans and a grinder -- and a Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil video, which is set in Savannah. The huge front porch with comfortable wicker furniture was perfect to for hanging out. It was also very reasonably priced.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of staying on the 3rd floor loft: we will never stay anywhere else except Galloway House from here on! It's GORGEOUS! Super private, the room is huge! There was a ton of water bottles in the fridge and it was stocked for breakfast. Bagels and cream cheese and muffins with yogurt. In addition there was OJ and fresh ground coffee. I felt like i was at my home away from home! Keith was so welcoming and kind. He told us all about the area around the hotel. Within 2 blocks there are restaurants and a brewery. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Worst place ever for our honeymoon. Was under construction and NO BREAKFAST. The owners did not disclose there would be construction mess. Incredibly horrible stay ans definitely not worth what we paid. Stay anywhere else.

Yelp
Place is a dump . I found mouse crap in the top draw completely freaked me out. And whoever cleans the toilets should be fired cause there was feces still left on the top of the rim. And my sheets had a big yellow stain which I called management about they did replace it but still these rooms should be checked.

Yelp
Savannah is my happy place. Whenever life gets crazy, or a special event comes up, it's off to Savannah I go! I'm usually a much better planner, and have my whole agenda figured out, but this time, my birthday crept up and I realized... "HOLY CRAP!!! My birthday is this weekend and I didn't book anything yettttt.... AHHHHHHH!!!!! AND I HAVE NO BOARDING FOR MY PUP!!!!" So, I freaked out a little... not that you could tell from above I'm sure... but I hopped online and did some detective work to see what I could find last minute that was dog friendly. I looked at a few options, and came across the Galloway House. I fell in love. I hopped online and booked the place right then. When we arrived (early..oops.) Jim was super pleasant and told me that we were fine and our place was ready for us. BIG SIGH OF RELIEF. It had dumped rain on us the whole freakin 4.5 hour drive. I was ready to just relax. When you walk up the steps to this place you KNOW you are someplace special. The front porch is so welcoming with it's big comfy chairs and lazily turning fan above to keep you cool. I made a mental note that I was going to come out here to relax later. Jim walked us back through their back yard...OMG. This back yard was like none other!! Exotic plants greet you as you enter and more chairs sitting next to some exquisite Spanish moss trees. I pictured myself painting a masterpiece back here as I saw the sculptured face staring dreamily ahead. This back yard was like a private get away in itself. LOVE!!! He took us up to our apartment, and it was much larger than I expected. He told us all the great places to eat that were in walking distance, and also the places that would allow me to take my 4 pound bruiser of a dog. I opened the fridge and there was cream cheese, butter, bottled water and a BOTTLE OF WINE! I turned around and there were fresh bagels and some nature valley bars! This was so nice of them to do... talk about customer service and awesomeness!! I turned around to the book shelf, and there is a stack of post cards with a beautiful picture of The Galloway House on it. You fill it out, and they mail if for you!!! I seriously walked through this cute little place saying, "Aww.. aw.. awwwwww.... look at this... this is so awesome!!" My boyfriend just nodded in agreeance.. lol The next day we met Keith and he was as nice & helpful as Jim, even while holding back two great danes from wanting to give me some big ol kisses. They think of everything and then some to make you feel so welcome. It was incredible and I lucked out that they had a place with my last minute procrastination. We will definitely come back and Zombie (my pup) even approves!

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE - Owner went in our rooms while we were out (all girls), STOLE our things. Called the police. I've never stayed in a place quite like this. We rented the first floor (4 girls) and back carriage house (3 girls). We had a girl tag along last minute and I completely forgot to add her to the listing for the carriage house. This became an issue after the first night when Keith called us at 9:30am saying he wanted to talk to all 7 of us right at 10am because he had seen in the security cameras that there were 7 girls instead of 6. Myself and the other girl who booked a room, along with 2 other girls, met him on the porch but he refused to talk with us until all 7 girls were outside - 1 of the girls had gotten food poisoning the night before and was still in bed - and he made us get her up. He scolded us like we were 5 year olds (we are all 25-32 years old) for at least 30 minutes. We apologized for forgetting to put the 7th girl on the listing and asked what he wanted us to do. He mentioned that he "could evict us if he wanted but (he) wasn't that kind of person." By the way, at the end of this we did pay him the extra fee. He came off very emotional like we had done it to spite him and that he just wanted to scold us. After this demeaning conversation, we thought we had smoothed things over even though we didn't feel great about what had just happened. That same day we had a class that we left for at 2pm. When we came back a couple hours later, we noticed things were moved like the ice bucket we had on a towel in the dining room had been moved to the sink and other random things. Later that night we also noticed that our candles were missing and realized he had come into our place, touched our things and STOLEN our things in both rooms we paid to stay in. This obviously made us all feel extremely uncomfortable. Who's to say he didn't go looking through each one of our things? I was at the point where if one of the other girls opened the front/back door I was scared the owner was just walking in. He wasn't going to say anything and completely ignored our messages asking about clean up for check out the next morning. We ended up calling the police to put it on record what had occurred. We left the place completely clean. In the end when we were getting in our cars, one police asked us if we would like our candles back. She asked the owner, Keith, if he took them and if so to give them back. He said he had them and brought them from the second floor where he lives. He proved that he had entered our rooms without us there and touched and stole our things. Believe every negative review you read about this place. Do not stay here!!
google avatar

Ashlee B.

Yelp
I know I said he kept almost $200, but he actually kept over $300 from us! Rather than just charging the cancellation fee, Keith decided to withhold the full amount as if we had stayed there for a whole weekend. When I pointed out this error, Keith immediately copped an attitude and told me that he had actually UNDERCHARGED us by $1.59 when looking to the full price of the hotel for a weekend. Okay, because it's really time to nickel and dime us when you've already robbed us for nothing. Went to see how empty the Galloway House was for the weekend we were going to be traveling to Savannah & every room was actually booked up. So Keith made money not only off of us, but also off the people who stayed there that weekend. This is actually illegal, but it didn't seem to bother him. After getting an attitude and telling me I didn't know how to read, he completely stopped responding to my emails. I'm sure it's a beautiful location, but I honestly don't know how this place is still in business or have good reviews. This man has zero interpersonal skills and displays no kindness toward potential visitors--it is all about the bottom line.

Yelp
I stayed at the Galloway House for a couple days this weekend. Ii took advantage of the 2-bedroom apartment and it was an exceptional selection. The owners were very helpful and pleasant. The apartment was extremely large and very comfortable. I was able to secure the two nights at a deep discount in hotels.com which made this option more than competitive with local hotels. I would definitely recommend the Galloway House as an option to consider when trekking to Savannah.

Yelp
Stayed June of 2019. Place was outdated and the manager gave us all the creeps. Caught him constantly staring awkwardly at my wife and daughters. Made us all feel very uncomfortable. Cannot remember his name, Kevin or Keith I think. Room was nothing to write home about for what they charge. Look elsewhere.

Yelp
It's hard to describe just how wonderful this property is, but I'll try! We arrived to our gracious host showing us the property and sharing advice about great restaurants and local attractions. The Remington Suite was perfect, from carefully chosen furnishings to a fridge stocked with water and snacks to the fluffiest of towels and a lovely bottle of wine! The Galloway House is within walking distance of many great restaurants. Staying in this lovely property gave us the opportunity to really experience Savannah as a 'local'. Additionally, the property was pristinely clean and quite comfortable with ceiling fans and great AC. Our only complaint is that we couldn't stay forever. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Yelp
I stayed here and wasn't impressed. My daughter got bitten by bed bugs. Never again!!!

Yelp
I absolutely loved staying at the Galloway house. The location is close enough that you can walk to River Street but far away enough from the hustle and bustle that you can sleep well at night! Parking is street parking with a couple of small spots off of the alley which isn't a huge deal but could be better. The rooms are outfitted with miniature kitchens and the refrigerators are loaded with bottled water and a few snacks. The innkeepers are extremely knowledgeable and welcoming! Our bedroom and bathroom was gorgeous. The price is very fair and you get far more than what you pay for! I would love to stay here again next time I visit the historical Savanna, Georgia.

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about The Galloway House! My mother and I were looking for a get-away location, but we don't like to board our dogs as they are a little spoiled and not used to boarding. When we saw they accepted pups, we were sold! My mother and I accidentally arrived a day early, and Jim and Keith were more than hospitable and went out of their ways to place us in another apartment until the Carriage House was available on our regularly scheduled day. Pros: - Accepts dogs (and even provide doggie bowls) - Complimentary wine upon arrival - Stocked fridge with bagels, granola snacks, cream cheese, muffins, orange juice, and water - Coffee beans with grinder for FRESH coffee each morning - Only a couple of blocks or walking distance from the Historic District and Forsyth Park - Beautiful decor, quaint cottages, and a restful garden - Jim and Keith were always accessible and willing to offer info about the area - Clean and full-attention is paid to details! Cons: - None! :-) We'll be back!

Yelp
This place is absolutely immaculate and beautiful. When me and my friends checked in, the fridge was stocked with yogurts, waters, and bagels & cream cheese. There was a chilled bottle of wine waiting for us. It felt like a dream, and well worth the money. I would not hesitate to return to this haunted beauty!

Yelp
We had an amazing time at the Galloway house. Keith & Jim are perfect hosts, and we can't wait to go back. First class accommodations, and being treated not only like a valued guest, but a returning friend is something that you can't fake. This is simply one of the best lodging experiences of my life. Room quality was superb, the gardens and decor are pure artwork... it was really nice to look around and say I'm staying here, and gosh we were sad to leave. We were treated with such hospitality, and in a place that didn't need that to make up for any shortcomings. Again, I can't say enough about how much we loved it there. We can't wait to come back to Savannah to stay there again!

Yelp
This grande old Southern dame will make your visit memorable! Visiting Savannah on any occasion is great pleasure, but getting to stay in an amazing home, with a perfect location, and run by attentive hosts made the visit all the more memorable. Galloway House is a grand ole' southern dame, laid out with privacy in mind. Unlike most B&B's the Galloway is broken into individual apartments. We stayed in the Renwick which is located in what was the original carriage house. Up a small flight of stairs brings you a small private outside seating area where we enjoyed morning coffee and an evening glass of wine. Very relaxing! Walking inside you are welcomed to a comfy living room with state of the art TV. Shelves are stocked with local books on Savannah and suggestions on things to do in the area. There are even a couple of DVD movies and one that we had to watch our first evening was of course "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" what a hoot! The small well appointed kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need for a fresh brewed cup of coffee, muffins and rolls for the morning, waters, juices, etc. We even had a bottle of wine as a welcome gift! A small hallway leads you back to a spacious comfortable bedroom with a very comfortable king mattress and a perfectly cozy bathroom. What more could you ask for? And if there was anything you needed Jim, our host, was more than willing to ensure you had it! His recommendations on the local restaurants were spot on. We had the pleasure of enjoying several and they didn't disappoint! Galloway house is a few blocks shy of the downtown area and for us it was beyond perfect. Only a few blocks from Forsyth Park, the location lets you enjoy the joys of Savannah without battling the crowds staying in the commercial downtown. Galloway House is a perfect home in a great location and when those positives are combined, it's the best way to enjoy this amazing city! Thanks Jim & Keith for our amazing experience

Yelp
Such a lovely B&B. We stayed in the carriage house; for 2 people it was a nice quaint space. The owners really made it feel Southern and furnished the space nicely. Breakfast is provided in your personal kitchen, as well as a bottle of wine (which is the first in my book). Overall, a really wonderful place to stay if you want a low-key Southern experience. NOTE: They do provide WiFi, although it may have been down while we were there. Not a big deal for us, but may be for you. Also, the owners have 3 Great Danes which roam the backyard when they let them out. Again, they are sweet dogs but if you are allergic, this may be an issue for you.

Yelp
WAIT-------- DO NOT RESERVE THIS PLACE ONLINE They cancelled my reservation on my way there! They charged my card for almost $600 even without me staying there. They accepted my deposit which stated I would be arriving at 10pm and cancelled my reservation stating it was because it would be too late of a arrival. This is after more than one email of my exact arrival time and after the own left a voicemail stating he was aware of my 10pm arrival ( which I still have on my cell phone) This has been a nightmare. Required multiple calls hours of my time and trips to the bank. They even charged my card after they cancelled my reservation themselves!! I highly recommend if you are going to stay in this place use cash only!!!! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO TAKE YOUR PET - JUST GO TO THE MARRIOTT which is where I ended up after having to find another place to stay the Marriott was very understanding of the poor business ethics and welcoming to both my pet and I. TWO MONTHS LATER THEY STILL REFUSE TO CREDIT $557 out of pocket even with my bank calling they are fighting to dispute the claim to a place they cancelled the reservation that I made in advance. ****anyone who would like to view any of my emails , banking information or the owner's own voicemail please contact me so I may share my freedom of speech THE OWNER'S RESPONSE : "You and I know the truth! We had four older guests leaving very early the next morning for North Carolina and for their safety they had a right to a good night's sleep. If you had replied to our emails and phone calls the whole problem could have been avoided but you didn't, so now damaging the reputation that we've worked so hard to build is the right and proper thing to do. That's great if an old house boarded once again and four people to loose their income, after all you won't loose any sleep over it!"

Don't stay here unless you feel like getting ripped off. My wife and I had an emergency situation come up with my 7 month old daughter nearly dying in the hospital. They were not willing to reschedule or work anything out. I have never been treated so rudely before. The owner recommended that we break the law by producing fake dates for rental insurance, which is illegal. Now we have lost over $500.00 dollars for nothing. We tried to work out something, I even told him they could keep the deposit. The place might be decent, but I would definitely think twice about what kind of people you do business with, especially in this economy. I noticed afterwards that another person had a very similar experience, avoid at all costs!

Yelp
An amazing place! We stayed on the first floor carriage house and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations. The garden was beautiful, the room was immaculate, the snacks were scrumptious, and the list can go on. After searching for dog friendly places in the area to celebrate my birthday, we chose to stay at the Galloway House due to the friendly service on the phone and the very reasonable prices. We are so glad we did! Upon arrival, Jim came out (in the rain!) to help us settle in. He gave us a ton of recommendations in the area (all on point), was extremely accommodating, and accessible by phone. The Galloway House made our first trip to Savannah very memorable. If you ever need a place to stay in Savannah, there is no other place except the Galloway House!

Yelp
This place is a dream come true! We booked a two room suite, and what we got was AMAZING, A gorgeously restored house - kitchen, living room, formal diningroom, sunroom porch, back yard! All in the heart of Savannah's historical district, cool, a little funky, full of life! Couldn't have asked for more! The price amazing for what was provided, and our hosts made us feel like we were their personal house guests! This made our visit to Savannah, and we fell in love with the city!

Yelp
I can't overstate this: we adore the Galloway House! If I could live there, I would. About 4 years ago, I went for the first time with some girlfriends and stayed in the carriage house (so pretty and cozy). I loved it so much that my husband and I went to Savannah for our Honeymoon and stayed on the 3rd floor. We just recently got back from another trip, and we loved it just as much the third time around! The place is a big beautiful plantation-style home with a wide, gorgeous porch on the front. For a couple like ourselves, the carriage house apartments or the 3rd floor in the main house are perfect for a getaway. First floor was perfect for family of ours that came into town with us. The whole place is tastefully decorated (but not obnoxiously so - they've taken care to let the original details of the home stand out) and this place feels more like a home away from home every time we go! We always appreciate how clean and fresh everything is when we arrive. The bed is always big and comfortable with fresh crisp linens, and the bathroom was spotless with big fluffy towels to wrap up in after a shower. We love the little touches they add - fresh flowers, historic pictures, a great selection of Savannah travel books in addition to a binder full of useful information on the area. We also love the breakfast provided in our kitchen - fresh bagels, muffins, cream cheese, orange juice, and plenty of bottled water (plus a bottle of wine chilled and ready for our arrival!). The 3rd floor apartment is bright, cozy, and absolutely dreamy. I spent a few mornings sitting in the big beautiful window seat overlooking Savannah with a cup of coffee and a good book. Jim and Keith have never steered us wrong on restaurant recommendations - definitely try Foxy Loxy if you stay at the Galloway House: it's less than a block away, and is not to be missed with plenty of great locally sourced ingredients in imaginative dishes, and fun local brews! Jim and Keith also steered us toward Vic's On The River when we stayed at Galloway House on our honeymoon, and it's one of our favorite restaurants to this day. If you're looking for a place in Savannah, look no further. It's a fraction of the price of other 'historic' B&B's, with a much more laid back feel. It's just a minute or two from the downtown area, so it's close enough to get to the fun places downtown off Broughton and Bay streets, as well as the fun spots down on River street. It's far enough away, though, that you can really enjoy the quiet more laid-back aspects of Savannah. It's also dog friendly! We have never brought our pooch before, but it would be the perfect spot to bring a well-behaved dog. Jim and Keith also have two big beautiful (and super-friendly) Great Danes that add a lot of charm to the Galloway House.

Yelp
Stayed in the carriage house upstairs apartment. The apartment was spacious and clean, and it was really nice to have a kitchen and living area. We chose this b&b because we were traveling with our small pup and wanted a place where she'd be welcome. No complaints about any of the facilities. The owner gave us a quick run-down of Savamnah (it was our first time here) and offered some restaurant recommendations. Our only wish is that it was closer to some of the action. Although the town was only a short 5 min drive, we prefer to walk everywhere.

Yelp
This place is amazing. My only complaint is it is a little out of the way down a side street, but that may be part of it's allure. If you have time/money, stay here. Extremely comfortable and relaxing. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Yelp
My partner wanted to make my birthday special this year, so we started looking for someplace to stay in a long awaited destination, Savannah. We considered many options, and decided The Galloway House would be the best choice. We stayed in the first floor apartment of the carriage house. It had everything anyone could want, (including a DVD of "Midnight in the Garden") and more. The apartment was warm, inviting, and private. Even though the apartment is directly on a lane, we slept well. Keith and Jim the owners, were friendly and knowledgeable about places to see, and wonderful restaurants to visit. There is so much to see in Savannah, one visit is not enough. We can't wait to return and stay with Jim and Keith again to continue our ongoing tour of Savannah. All in all, you can't go wrong staying at The Galloway House. It felt like a home-away-from-home while on vacation.

Yelp
What a fantastic place. We brought our large dog to their beautifully decorated savannah home and had a fabulous time. The space and decor was perfect and comfortable. It had all the luxuries of home, and the hosts were super nice. We will definitely recommend them to our friends and come and stay again.
