La Parrilla used to be a Bozeman staple in my life. It used to be employed by weirdos, who liked their job and stuck around, and made consistent amazing food. Now, it's just another Bozeman eatery. I still go, but I never know what I'm getting anymore. Missing ingredients, HUGE sways in portions, and constantly seeing new staff members that just look like deer in the headlights. When I say "house style", there's always a pause, there was never a hesitation at the old location.
But, I don't assume this will change now that they have their new location, with their hipster/yuppy bar attached. It's such a bummer.
My most recent visit, today, I paid $24 for a blackened salmon & chicken alfredo. I asked if I could sub guac for the ricotta in the salmon, they said "sure no problem" but was still charged for guac. The portions, were just sad. My chicken Alfredo was a flat layer of noodles at the bottom of a to go container with sauce on it. I exposed the corner in the picture to show. It made me sad really.
As a local I've been trying to support the businesses I like during the tough times we're in, but charging full price for something like this makes me feel like the business is just grabbing at my money. And it is MY money, I'm blue collar.
I just can't justify supporting this business anymore, I'm sure my absence will have zero affect.
