The Garden Room

We were in Dublin for a long wedding anniversary weekend and were looking for someplace special for dinner. We liked the website for the Garden Room and decided to try it out. Service is very warm and welcoming from the moment you step into the hotel (the restaurant is part of the Merrion hotel). Somehow I was expecting more of a "garden restaurant" atmosphere with a lot of plants so was a tad surprised not to see more of that. But the ambience and food made up for it :) Service is very attentive and forthcoming. I really appreciated the thoughtful and delicious anniversary surprise from the kitchen.

Everything was excellent! The food was truly high-quality and delicious. We tried the lamb, duck, fish, and burger — each dish was carefully prepared and full of flavor. The ice creams were also amazing, both in presentation and taste. Our waiter, Hasan, was very attentive and friendly throughout our visit, making the experience even more enjoyable. We would like to thank him especially for his great service. This place will definitely be one of our top choices for dining, and we highly recommend it to everyone!

The ambience of the Merrion hotel was exceptional. The restaurant was lovely with good food and the chef was excellent. The thing that let it down is the service. Not great for a uptown restaurant

The hotel the day this restaurant is in is beautiful. The restaurant itself wasn’t fancy but felt very approachable and welcoming. The food was great and I loved that they had a Slovakian tasting menu. We didn’t have it but my husband did have the potato dish from that menu and it was excellent. The pork chop that I had was delicious! The staff was so kind and attentive. The wine was really delicious. Great start to our Dublin vacation.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent (as always). On previous visits the food had been good, but it was to a really high standard this time. The gluten free options are also very good, including delicious GF breads made by the kitchen and GF tuile with the ice cream. Thank you for such a lovely lunch!

The staff is absolutely amazing, the energy of the place is so peaceful, food was a 10/10. I had the best dinner there, thank you so much so the amazing staff, can’t wait to be there again soon!

Really nice setting for lunch. Not cheap and probably over priced but you're paying for the location and the name as well as the food. Positives were the service and the Pork main was delicious. Negatives were the Tuna steak being overcooked and it was meant to come with scallops which never appeared.

I had a lovely pre theater dinner at the Merrion hotel. The service was impeccable. I was eating alone and the server offered to get me a newspaper. When I left the restaurant, the host thanked me by my last name even thought I was not a guest at the hotel. These little things stand out.

Very nice place to spend a Sunday afternoon , The food was delicious and the staff were helpful & Friendly . we will come back again.

The setting is amazing, the staff is on point. The manager of the hotel is top notch at his job and very polite and friendly. The drinks are just as good as the food and you may just see someone famous if your dining at the right time. Loved it , highly recommend. You won't be disappointed I promise.

This place is so beautiful and nice. The atmosphere smells expensive. The food is delicious and the service was great.

We celebrated a birthday here with a party of seven and it was an excellent experience. Top-notch service, extensive wine list, and a menu that includes 'snacks,' starters, entrees, several vegan options, and a wonderful desserts menu. We had cod arancini, prawns, soup, and a salad to start and all were delicious. Moved on to salmon, fish and chips, mac and cheese, another fish I can't remember right now, and sirloin steak for our main dishes and everyone loved their food. Chocolate fondant and bread pudding for dessert, and again, they were both delicious. They were already out of three items at 3:00pm, which surprised me but didn't affect our experience. Beautiful environment and, again, stellar service.

The Garden Room at the Merrion is a beautiful spot for breakfast or tea. We had breakfast there two of the mornings we were in Dublin and it was lovely. There is a great buffet selection at breakfast with pastries, fruits, meats, cheeses, cereals and yogurt as well as an a la carte hot menu. They make a nice Full Irish and the eggs and salmon were delish as well. Great service and ambiance.

Nice atmosphere and very spacious. Very attentive staff and the food was lovely. Chocolate fondant was the star of the show though. Can go out for a drink in the garden afterwards which is beautiful. Great experience

Lovely room for dinner at the Merrion Hotel, adjacent the garden. We had dinner for 5 with everyone happy with their starters and most happy with their mains: chicken , fish & chips and salmon. The halibut wasn't as well received. It was "watery" according to those that ordered it. We shared 3 desserts and they were all stunning. Beautiful Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

The place is nice. Servers are friendly and food is good. The chocolate cake is thumb eating great!! Dessert is always delight of the day.
