The Gaslamp Bed & Breakfast

On arrival we stepped in to a Lovely Victorian parlor all decorated for Christmas. Our room was beautiful with touches of Christmas as well and we thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace. The Inn is centrally located and we could walk to everything. Jeff and Jim were the most wonderful hosts and couldn’t have been kinder. The breakfasts were delicious and they crafted them all themselves. And the folks we met at breakfast in the parlor were delightful and some of the best moments of our trip. Totally boosted our holiday mood and feeling the spirit of Christmas.We’re already making plans to come back.

The Gaslamp is a beautiful bed and breakfast right in the heart of Provincetown—just steps from amazing restaurants, shops, and some of the best drag shows and entertainment in town. The newly renovated rooms are cozy and full of character, decorated with an eclectic mix of antiques and local art. Jeff and Jim are wonderful hosts, and the breakfasts are absolutely delicious! It’s always such a treat to relax in the parlor over a slice of quiche or a warm scone with coffee, chatting with other guests—and, of course, getting some love from their ridiculously adorable French bulldog, Nathaniel. You truly can’t go wrong staying at The Gaslamp. Once you visit, you’ll definitely want to come back again!

If you are planning a trip to Provincetown , do yourself a favor and make a reservation for The Gas Lamp. I was there the weekend of December 12th. It was just magical. I stayed in room 6 this trip and it was just so cozy. Beautifully appointed and a huge shower and separate soaking tub. There is a hot tub in the back yard. I used each day. One afternoon it snowed and I was in the hot tub and all the Christmas lights were on. Again, just magical. And the breakfast is just fabulous. Jeff and Jim are just so nice and welcoming. The Gaslamp felt like a winter wonderland. It’s even more impeccably decorated in person than in the pictures. Really feels like both a luxury and cozy getaway. They make the space feel like home and an oasis. Highly recommend for a solo or group trip! Feels like the owners really care about you having a great experience.

Jim and Jeff are tremendous hosts. They really care about their guests’ experience and it shows. The rooms are so thoughtfully decorated (we were in room 6), breakfast is as good or better than anything we could’ve gotten in a restaurant, and the overall vibe was just so friendly. Some inns in Ptown can be stuffy, but Jim and Jeff really try to set the tone that everyone is a potential friend, and that meant I was delighted to bump into our fellow guests around town throughout the weekend. This was our first time at the Gaslamp, and we are already figuring out the dates for our next stay.

Years ago when I first became aware of B&Bs, it seemed like such a romantic thing to do. It obviously takes a lot of effort to do it well. And Jeff and Jim do it well. Their friendship is an obvious key ingredient of The Gaslamp. It is a lovely Bed and Breakfast. It is conveniently located in the center of Provincetown. The decor is well thought out. Details such as bathrooms that actually have room to move around inside, and showers that don't feel like you're on a boat made our overnight that much nicer. Our room was small, but very cozy and restful. Breakfast was delicious, and it was pleasant to sit and chat with other guests in the piano room as we ate. Our trip to Ptown was a quick visit to see Cortile Gallery before it closes, but we will definitely return to stay at The Gaslamp.

We loved everything about our stay at the Gaslamp! We visited in the fall and found the house itself to be the perfect cozy, romantic setting. The rooms are tastefully remodeled in a way that modernizes without taking away from the original aesthetic - the photos don’t do them justice! Jeff, Jim, and Nathaniel are excellent hosts and the breakfast each morning was so much better than it had any right to be. Located just one block of commercial street, you’re steps away from all the activities. So happy with our decision to stay here. Wouldn’t change a thing… aside from maybe a longer stay!

I stayed one night at The Gaslamp in Provincetown and was genuinely impressed. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Ptown, steps from shops, galleries, and the waterfront, yet the inn feels peaceful and tucked away.||My room was cozy and full of character, with charming details and a welcoming ambiance. The bathroom was modern, spotless, and beautifully designed, featuring sleek fixtures and a calming aesthetic. A standout detail: the Aesop bath amenities. They’re my favorite, and it was such a treat to find them here—definitely elevated the experience.||If you’re looking for a stylish, well-located stay with thoughtful touches, The Gaslamp is a gem.

The Gaslamp is our favorite place to stay in Ptown. Jeff and Jim are wonderful hosts, who are very involved in and knowledgeable about the local community. They make the best breakfast in town! My wife and I have been staying here for years, including for our wedding weekend. The boys took such great care of us and our loved ones, making it all the more special. Room 1 is our favorite, but all the rooms are lovely and comfortable. Even with its location in the middle of everything, it's still quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. Love!

This is an excellent choice for a stay in Provincetown. Nice accommodations and helpful owners. Very good customer service. They listened to my specific needs and responded well. I recommend this place very highly.

Awesome location close to shops and restaurants, but out of the downtown noise. The breakfasts that Jim made were delicious and unique.  Great input on what activities would be good for our all-adult family. Wonderful response time when I had any inquiries prior to our stay.  Really enjoyed our stay.

Don't know where to begin. This old, native Californian has been to far reaches of the globe, but this was my first time visit to the East Coast in which I took time off work to explore New England. My 4 nights here were magical. All of the other guests seemed blissed out, too. Most were East Coast residents. Please note that my review is from a West Coast perspective. This guest house is ancient and funky. As is much of Ptown. And special and charming and stunningly beautiful. Everything is well maintained and decorated. I had a small bedroom with tiny shared baths, which were spotless and amusing. And it's affordable. The A/C unit, fan, and mini-fridge kept me cool during the night, while visions of uptight Pilgrims and Samantha Stevens danced in my head for restful sleep on the surprisingly comfortable bed. The Inn is centrally located, yet just off the hyperkinetic main street and walkable to anything except Mars. The housekeeper and the proprietor are delightful and helpful. Jeff's gourmet breakfasts hit it out of the park every day. He's such a great host; non-intrusive but helpful and kind. The main focus of my wonderful experience turned out to be socializing with other guests on the gorgeous downstairs deck. So many beautiful plants and flowers that don't exist, at least not in the Summer, where I am from. This is where guests -- if they choose to -- socialize by day or at night around the hot tub, clothing optional. Jeff serves breakfast every morning here. I wish I were more like Jeff. There's an ice machine and a modest open bar, a delightful surprise. Half way into a Bloody Mary, I suddenly found myself without clothes and in the tub, laughing with other guests. The free WiFi signal pretty much dies when you are out on the deck....hmmmmmm... they really thought of everything. When in Rome...Hours of fun conversations with gay men, trending towards older. The Gaslamp Inn welcomes everyone. The "clothing optional" aspect was completely appropriate during my visit: In the evenings, mostly gay men hung out in their birthday suits in the tub. On one morning, a charming, elderly straight couple from the Boston burbs appeared for breakfast. It was their 12th visit in as many years. Everyone kept their shorts on, not that they would have cared. I ended up spending two hours with them, talking about everything. The next day, a family of four from Orange County appeared in the morning after breakfast. The Father disappeared to go do something. Worst nightmare: I was in the tub and my shorts were 20 feet away. I asked the 19 year old boy to throw me my shorts. His sister was in the tub with me, in a swimsuit. She ordered him not to, so I pulled my towel under the water. They were giggling. The Mom dragged me into a live, national trivia game playing her cell phone. Turns out my knowledge of pop culture is embarrassingly accurate. We made it to the final round, huddled together around a hot tub in freaking Puritanical preppy New England, as if I was family. (Did I even leave San Francisco?) Turns out they were visiting that sneaky daughter -- an Electrical Engineering major at MIT. WTF? Not catering to a diverse clientele in Provincetown would be a bad business model. Guests at this Inn seem to be open, accepting, and understand the environment, at least during my 4 night stay. Was here at the end of Bear Week. This place had a room left. Was intending to stay at a plastic motel. So glad I landed here!

Where do I start? The staff is great, and they make great cookies and muffins! Stan & Lenny were so helpful filling us in with things to do and places to eat at. Some of the best times I had there was just sitting around in the morning, groggy with all the other guests and our hosts. Every one was funny and had a story to tell. They have a lot of artwork displayed by local and non local artists throughout the house. It inspired me to do more of my own! My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. I can't say enough good things about Jeff and Jim. I've stayed with them several times, and each stay has been superb. Excellent customer service, a cozy house, great breakfasts, and they are located in the very heart of Provincetown. Five stars.

I have stayed in other b&b's and hated it. If every b&b was like this I would never stay anywhere else. My entire family bought out the place. Imagine being trapped in a house as an adult with your family and basically being willing to chew your own arm off to escape. Except the place is gorgeous with every detail painstakingly planned out. Lavish breakfasts. Snacks so you can stay up talking after whatever event is done. The hot tub back deck. Jim and Jeff are the kindest, nicest, most patient thoughtful people I have ever met. It was colder and rainy during our visit and I could not have cared less about the weather. Do not stay ANYWHERE else. Did I mention they also do events that benefit local charities? Yeah.. good people doing amazingly good things. I want to be adopted.

I had the pleasure of staying here this last weekend of august with my boyfriend and it was the best thing we could have done. It was our first vacation, our first b&b, and our first real visit to Ptown. Words can barely describe our stay. The hospitality was above and absolutely beyond, our room was cozy and comfortable with an a very nice bed, the breakfast each morning had plenty of variety from fresh fruit to something homemade and delicious. The outside patio with the hot tub was a perfect sanctuary for the weekend and was just so relaxing. We became friends with other people staying and got to share international stories and plenty of laughter. It was a weekend like no other and we thank the boys from the bottom of our heart. We will absolutely be back

This is the most wonderful B&B! It's the middle of February, but this Inn could not be more warm and inviting. There is charm and character galore in this fabulous old house. The beds were outrageously comfortable, and you will remember the luxury of those linen sheets! Our breakfast was a made-to-order delight. The homemade scones with home-grown raisins were the best I've ever had...an I'm a scone snob! Thank you for your hospitality, Jim and Jeff! We hope to see you again.

We spent a night at the Gaslamp a couple of weeks ago, and enjoyed our stay quite a lot! Jim and Jeff are very friendly and professional. The decoration and design of the place was awesome... every single piece in the house was chosen with care to create a classic and unique. Our room was small but very clean and comfy. In the morning, we were provided with a rich breakfast and freshly baked tasty cones. We will definitely go back there in future for another nice stay!

My girlfriend and I came to PTown for the weekend during the off season, and we're SO glad we stayed at The Gaslamp. The bedroom was SUPER cozy and comfy. The house itself was decorated so nicely and elegantly. The location is fantastic because you're 2 blocks from EVERYTHING. Don't even get me started on the breakfast in the parlor every morning. Literally to die for. Jeff and Jim made (all from scratch) quiche, French toast, breads and fruits galore. It was hands down restaurant-quality breakfasts every morning. At night, they would put out yummy cheeses, crackers and meats. They were so friendly and welcoming that it felt like you were staying with friends. If you visit PTown and DON'T stay at The Gaslamp, you're making a mistake.

I've been meaning to write a review for a few years now. After our 7th stay at the Gaslamp, I think it's time. I've been going to PTown for 20 years and have stayed nearly everywhere. This is the first place has truly felt like home. The owners, Jeff and Jim, are the best hosts. They are friendly and gracious. They know the town inside and out. Everyone in town knows them because they are so active in the community. As a result, they have their finger on the pulse of the town. Every gay scene has its own rhythm. It can be hard to know what THE bar/club is for that night if you are on vacation in an unfamiliar place. Jeff and Jim always know where the crowd will be. And their restaurant recommendations are on point every time. The best part is that they take the time to understand you and what you like. So whether you are 22 and coming to town for the first time and want to go clubbing, you are a 40-something on your 30th visit to town looking to switch it up, or a straight couple looking to explore the inclusivity and beauty of Provincetown they will send you on the right track. I cannot say enough about them and the difference they make every time we stay. The food is frankly insane. We end up saving money because we no longer go out for breakfast. There are some amazing breakfast places in town. But the food the Gaslamp serves is just that good. This weekend we had Dutch pancakes, quiche, an egg bake, oatmeal, gourmet cheese and meats, wine, eggnog bread pudding... all from scratch. I'm always a little excited to see whats on the piano when I get up in the morning. The location is just awesome. You can be at the two major bar/club complexes in under 3 minute walks (Atlantic House and Crown & Anchor). The ferry is about a 10 minute walk to the tip of the pier. The Pilgrim Monument is extremely close too. You are at the center of town and in the heart of gay P-Town. If you are here to enjoy the scene, you will love that you can easily get back to the room, switch outfits, and head back out again. You are one block back from Commercial Street, though, which means you don't have the crowds or the noise out your door. The best of both worlds. You cannot beat this location. We like to stay with these guys in the office season when everything is a little quieter and it is easier to just enjoy the town beyond the party scene. We've stayed for Halloween, Holly Folly, New Years, and just random weekends. The town is still lively but not insane during the event weekends. That's when I think the Gaslamp is at its most special. Their breakfasts on the baby grand have a salon-like atmosphere. Jeff and Jim are amazing conversationalists and you meet people from all over the world. I always learn something new from one of the guests. In the afternoon, I will sit in the parlor, read a book, and have a cup of coffee. It just feels like home. So if you are considering booking here, I highly recommend it. My only request is you treat the guys with the respect they give you. This place is special. This is Jeff and Jim's home and they are passionate about welcoming you and making your stay first rate. They deserve every good review here. You will not regret staying here for a second.

Comfortable, friendly place. A block from the busy center of town it's still quite quiet. Contrary to another review here I've always felt at home and welcome, which is why we come here again and again.

A wonderful Bed and Breakfast with with the friendliest hosts. This was our 2nd time in PTown and our First Carnival Week. We were so happy to pick a B&B with a great location, clean rooms with all necessary amenities (even Jacuzzi out back) along with homemade delicious and unique breakfasts every morning. The hosts even gave us the opportunity to hold the Rainbow flag during the Parade and gave us free tickets to a dance party! We're so grateful we got to stay at such an extraordinary house. The other guests and Hosts made it that much better. Definitely would recommend and most likely stay again next summer!

My girlfriend and I stayed this past Saturday night in a great room with a private bathroom! I called and booked the reservation initially with Jeff who (due to it being the off season) told us we could check in early and enjoy all that P-Town has to offer. Upon our arrival we were greeted by both Jeff and Jim who asked us if we had any questions and what we liked for breakfast. Let me tell you, breakfast was unreal! The pastry selection was great, the eggs were made to order, bacon crispy and thick, and the fruit was fresh. They have a great hot tub that makes the stay in the winter time and even though the guys just took over the place in June you can tell they are vested in the community and their guests to the max. You can see why any member of the gay/lesbian community would feel right at home but what some readers might find surprising is how incredible it is for all. We would be back in a heartbeat, don't spend your money at some hotel when you can stay here!

Great little bed and breakfast. Very quaint, clean, and comfortable. Jim and Jeff were wonderful hosts. They were very hospitable, provided us with delicious baked goods and snacks, and made sure we had everything we needed. The deck in the back looked great for sunbathing in the summer and the hot tub was a great way to cap off the night in the winter. I would highly recommend this place to friends and would happily stay again.

August 2011, my stay at Romeos was awful! The level of customer service was non existent. The owner Stan Klein seemed to go out of his way to make me, my husband and our friend more than uncomfortable. During one conversation Stan commented when someone was looking doe me "I can see him in the chair, the lights are on". Sounds innocent right? Well as a very dark skinned African American man, this comment did not feel so innocent. Most of our 5 day stay here was filled with discomfort and dread made worse by comments like the one above and others like "you will be kicked out and no refund given". This would be stated if you stayed too long in the hot tub or if you would forget your keys after 11 pm and hand to ring the bell. I would not recommend this location to anyone, friend or enemy.
