The 7 Best Affordable Hotels in Tokyo - AFAR

"Set on the edge of bustling Ginza, the fourth-floor lobby lounge with soaring double-height windows provides a calm, skyline-framing retreat from the neighborhood’s energy. The 164 guest rooms and suites balance comfort and function—Nespresso machines in-room and Hansgrohe raindance showers among the amenities—and guests receive exclusive access to a 13th-floor rooftop terrace where complimentary drinks and light snacks are served with panoramic views. Nearby attractions include the Imperial Palace jogging loop and a range of dining options from sushi to oversized udon, plus atmospheric pubs under the tracks at Yurakucho." - Yukari Sakamoto

30 Best Hotels in Tokyo for Every Budget | Condé Nast Traveler

"A budget-friendly hotel disguised as a luxury stay, the Gate Hotel’s glass tower rises up over a bustling intersection in Ginza , offering those quintessential Lost in Translation views. The first thing you’ll notice when you step off the elevator is a lively champagne bar inhabiting the lobby-cum-lounge on the building’s fourth floor, filled with a mix of hotel guests and local business folk enjoying an afterwork coupe. The front desk around the corner may seem like an afterthought, but au contraire—service is as polished and capable as any of the city’s five-star offerings. Spic and span rooms come with a brightly colored accent pillow to enliven otherwise dim, nightlife-inspired decor. Light sleepers may want to request to avoid the rooms facing the train tracks—we did, however, think the double-glazed windows were doing an effective job of blocking out noise." - Brandon Presser

This is the second time I have being lucky enough to stay in this lovely hotel in just over a year, and it was just as good as last time. Location is excellent, a modern hotel with a more business like feel, which is perfect for me. Everything about the hotels is efficient and professional. All the staff are courteous and helpful at all times. For my 2 week stay we dined for breakfast every day and also had 2 evening meals, everything was fresh, delicious and cooked well by the chef and his team who always appreciate you greeting them and thanking them. Housekeeping, as with last year, is excellent. Every day everything is replenished, I never had to ask for anything. Prior to arrival, the reservation team was very helpful and accommodating. |I travel today to their sister hotel in Kyoto. I hope I have a similar experience. Many thanks to everyone who made my visit so enjoyable

Would give 4.5 if allowed. ||Very central and convenient location - directly above a subway exit and within walking distance of Ginza’s high-end shops, department stores, and countless dining options.||Our room was comfortable, with white cotton pyjamas provided and the delight of a high-tech Japanese toilet. The shower was adequate.||Breakfast was good: freshly squeezed orange juice alongside other juices, and a choice of 3 cooked options (including French toast or eggs Benedict). ||The gym was well-equipped for cardio and basic strength training (treadmills, chest press), although it lacked free weights; it was empty during my early-morning visits.||The hotel lobby greets you with a beautiful fragrance but I wouldn’t choose it as an evening drinks venue. ||The free umbrellas were invaluable in August’s sudden downpours.||Overall, a very good stay.

This was my favorite hotel that we stayed at in Japan out of five places. It was so spacious, smelled great all the time, had an amazing breakfast buffet and the staff was so very nice. I'd recommend this hotel to any of my closest friends!! 😍 Also, the location is amazing. It's a short couple of blocks from a strip of Ginza bars and restaurants tucked under the rail lines that sparkle at night and make your mouth water. Going back to the hotel is an oasis after the sights and smells!!

Excellent hotel in the heart of the Ginza area! Beautiful building, wonderful interior, the hotel has a rooftop where you can have a glass of wine overlooking the city. There are also restaurants, bars, a gym, a work area, a smoking area. The rooms are clean, beautiful, cozy. Excellent cosmetics, pajamas, smart toilets. There were three of us in one room and there was enough space to open all the suitcases and pack your things. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help. The hotel is close to the subway, to Haneda Airport and to all the shops and restaurants. I recommend it with all my heart and want to return to your hotel!

Our first experience of an hotel in Japan - clearly not “anticipated stereotypical Japanese” as the rooms were a really good size; very modern; and well located for railway stations and shopping. As expected though, the hotel was spotlessly clean - and the staff very polite and welcoming. The included breakfast was very good - not an expansive buffet but a good offering and very good hygiene by the hotel - only 3 ‘hot options’ but served fresh to order. ||The reception is on the first floor - accessed via a lift at street level - so not immediately obvious.||The bar was not overly great - poor location adjacent to reception - but served a refreshment rather then a “must spend time here”.||Overall the hotel would be easy to return and recommend

The room was surprisingly large for Tokyo, and the desk had 2 full sized TV screens and docking for a computer. It was billed as a business hotel, and definitely it is that. The décor is mostly black. The lobby is up about 7 floors from street level, so the entrance is not highly noticeable. The service is the normal Japense blend of efficiency and charm. It is about a 10 minute walk from Tokyo Station (if you know your way through the maze of streets!), or 1 stop on the JR metro to Yuracucho station and a half a block. The Ginza is maybe a 5 minute walk away.||I’m really impressed. Great location, modern and comfy room for a reasonable (by Tokyo standards) price. I need to remember this one next time I’m in town if it’s still in my price range.

Google
Stylish and comfy solution in the heart of Ginza. Beautiful lobby bar with captivating views on the surroundings, cozy but well decorated room (also with a captivating view in our case), strategic walk-friendly location. Would recommend

A quick visit. Nice room with a view. Excellent staff. The best part was eating their Eggs Benedict for breakfast. Really, really good. Service in the restaurant was top notch. Not to be missed.

Yelp
This is for the Ryoguku location... We are impressed! Although we booked this hotel with our flight package for 8 nights, we truly only stayed here for 6 nights because we went to Kyoto and Osaka for 3 days, we still enjoyed it waaaay too much. When we were in Osaka, we were excited to get back here because we loved our hotel so much. Everything about this hotel and especially our room felt like home. It really felt like home but with housekeeping every day to refill everything. They were so attentive which made our stay even better. We really didn't need to pack toiletries. I mean, they even provided us with pajamas! I love how the hotel is along the river. We walked the river so many times, it was beautiful. The hotel itself was upscale with a beautiful rooftop terrace. It's not as bustling as most parts of Tokyo, so if you are want to relax, this hotel is the perfect choice. Ryoguku station is less than a 10 minute walk and there's a 711 right next to the station. We were frequently there and we loved it. If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars, I would. The staff are all welcoming and professional. Our room was super comfy, super clean, spacious and we loved the shower! Everything about out stay was great. I couldn't ask for more.

Yelp
Excellent hotel! The staffs are great, such a great location near stations, and also beautiful room. I stayed here for the first time with my mom to celebrate her belated birthday. They gave us her little gift. The room was amazing with lots of amenities like coffee maker, mini fridge, cups & glasses and all bath amenities. They have a balcony seating areas you can take pics and drink. My mom needed a shower cap and I called them and they brought us the shower caps right away. I'm more amazed how these staffs are well trained as well as room itself. I will recommend everyone for this hotel.
