Visited July 8th-10th for my husband’s birthday . Stayed in room #202, upstairs tower facing street, which was noisy .||We have been visiting for the past 10 years, multiple times a year , always on ground level with a cozy little patio, usually by fountain .||This room had no patio, and I felt claustrophobic right away . We asked “Richard” by the front desk if he had anything available with a patio , he was patient in the beginning , and took the time to show us two other options (had a old smell )so we did not like them . We then asked for a ground floor room and was told “nothing available “ As we settled in our room which had a Huge closet (but no hangers ) my husband called Richard at the front desk asking for some , Richard at this point lost his patience with us , and according to my husband had a tone with him , not very professional. The furniture was worn down , mattress uncomfortable and the room service also not acceptable, empty food containers left behind , bed pillows left on chairs , and dirty towels just left hanging over bathtub .The breakfast which is included (but you pay for as in guest amenity fee of $40) per night , was so bad that I didn’t even want to take advance of it the day of our departure. The young man who took our order never checked up on us , my scrambled eggs were powered eggs and my bacon was soft and rubbery (no way that was real bacon ) could not eat it , past trips I have always enjoyed the breakfast , not sure what has changed .This is the first time in all these years that I have had this kind of experience here , I have always loved it which is why we kept coming back , after this last trip I honestly don’t feel like another visit. This place used to be so magical to us , this trip was just so disappointing in so many ways 😕And how about wishing my husband a Happy birthday upon arrival , small gesture that some ppl might appreciate .
