We’ve just had Sunday lunch. It was superb - I’ve eaten the nut roast there before and it is seriously good. Apparently Keith was cooking - step forward and take a bow Keith! Only fault was that the pub wasn’t quite warm enough. Great choice of good beers as always. Love the place.

The pub is in Hudswell, 2 and half miles from Richmond, North Yorkshire. Warm welcome to the George & Dragon pub; and we arrived as doors was opening. Hubby and I had lunch outside as it was a a beautiful day & lovely views. Can only eat on tables on top tier if eating outside. Quite a few people came in at 12pm. Relaxing atmosphere. I had the pulled prk& bbq sauce roll with chips and colslaw( couldof done with a bit more bbq sauce),& my hubby had the same but with cheese and pickle. Both cost £18 reasonable price. I tried cask ale for the first time, Ruby mild, a coke and lemonade cost £6 reasonable again. There are steps to enter the pub. A nice pub, I will go back again when I'm next in the area.

A gorgeous sunny beer garden (with plenty of seating!) in summer, and a cosy interior (with a fire!) in the winter. Always a great selection of beers on, with friendly staff behind the bar. The food is good too!

Lovely little pub, with great food, and friendly staff. Dropped in for a late lunch while visiting Middleham and Richmond castles. 2 of us had pies which were amazing and I had a vegan burger which was delicious. All freshly cooked, great value for money. Good selection of ales, including no/low alcohol, and they do coffee in a little french press for one 😍 Staff were lovely and friendly. Highly recommend paying it a visit.

Walked here today and had Sunday dinner and a few drinks. The Sunday lunch was fantastic, all home cooked and was delicious. Oh, the gravy... You could drink it on its own. Great pub. Well worth a visit.

Great Real Ale pub. We cycled 11 miles from a campsite in Leyburn especially to visit this great pub again. 8 cask beers on including several excellent Yorkshire bitters. Lamb pie was very good and the barman very welcoming and friendly. Dog friendly and nice views from the beer garden.

The George & the Dragon really deserves its CAMRA No.1 status. Not only was the beer incredible but the barman Alex was an absolute legend. Given you're on the absolute edge of the Dales here, he effortlessly ran a bar that in London would’ve needed 10 people. Brilliant pub, great atmosphere, and service you don’t forget.
