The George & Dragon

Today I ate literally the tastiest vegan meal I’ve ever eaten. All of us loved what we ate but as someone who loves to cook and is vegan so often eating out is disappointing. Over the moon to find a restaurant in marlow with such high quality options, clearly made by someone who is passionate about food too. It could not be better located without be on the river - it’s right by the bridge - and to top it off, the service was excellent. Thank you Jess and Ben for looking after us this evening! Both were so welcoming and helpful and it was a treat to be served by them. So happy we booked for two more birthdays in December. Loved how each option was a bit different but consistently delicious! Best dish; truffle arancini (oh my goodness wowee!) but the cassoulet was also delicious with all the components together - such an exciting meal! I did not stay at the hotel but ate its food and could not recommend highly enough!

Fantastic food!! Roast dinner with unlimited roasties, yorkshires & gravy, £6 starters and deserts when added. The soufflées are incredible, up there with the best we’ve eaten anywhere, fluffy and light. Cheese to start, the most delicious pistachio soufflé for dessert - this is a Must try! Great refurb and atmosphere, great menu, friendly. Was very busy, so food service was a bit slow, otherwise excellent, would recommend.

We arranged a 50th wedding anniversary and the staff could not have been more accommodating, with a big special shout out to Victoria who was amazing. All the staff were, but she was exceptional. |The newly refurbished restaurant and bar are of the highest standard and very welcoming. |Food was truly excellent and tremendous value. All the staff were excellent. |The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished and were of a high standard. |It all contributed to make a wonderful evening, but was only very slightly marred by the fact we had to finish by 11.30 because of licencing which was overly enforced. As residents, we regrettably assumed we could celebrate longer in the bar. |Well done though, The George and Dragon

A wonderful last minute two night stay at the hotel in a snug room. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious for a snug (room 17) and very clean and quiet. I was extremely comfortable and didn’t want to leave! Hotel is brand newly renovated, staff are welcoming, professional and make the stay that extra special. Breakfast was excellent with a wonderful wide selection - probably the best quality breakfast and choice ive had at an inn or boutique hotel in the UK over the last two months of travel. Parking was free right outside the front door overnight (6:30pm-8am + 2 hours from 8-10am) which was perfect. couldn't highly recommend enough. Special thanks to Mike!

An attractive and well situated pub/hotel. We had lunch here on the 8th October 2025. The restaurant had plenty of seating with tables well set apart. The ambience was good and our meal tasty and well cooked. Service was excellent, especially our wait-person, Jam, who was attentive and polite.

Booked a table online for the following evening with no difficulty. We were met at the door and immediately taken into the dining room and given a choice of tables. We were served by 3 different waiters all were extremely polite. We were advised to download their app and were rewarded with an immediate free drink for 1. The meal was excellent and beautifully presented. Our waitress, Ellena, was very helpful in describing the deserts and gave her opinion on her favourite.

We went for Sunday roast today with friends and had really lovely food. There were lots of friendly waiting staff, quick service. Loved the bottomless Sunday roast, the roast potatoes were lovely and we just kept ordering more! Delicious desserts too. Will definitely be back as was a really lovely atmosphere and great value for money!

We had an excellent experience here! Our service was handled by Victoria, who was amazingly helpful and attentive. We started with the Vegetarian Board, which was absolutely delicious—the sourdough bread and pesto sauce were especially delightful. For mains, we ordered the Veg Pie, Tomato Risotto, and Ravioli. The risotto and ravioli are definite must-tries! To end the meal, we had the Pistachio Soufflé and Chocolate Torte, both of which were soul-satisfying. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and would highly recommend this place!

Diabolical... Booked in for Christmas dinner , they had clearly overbooked . Told on arrival hour and a half wait for a table . We left along with quite a few other people, still waiting for refund . Not one apology from staff for ruining our Christmas. Avoid at all costs

Poor food and even worse service makes the restaurant portion of this establishment a weak dining choice.

Good service, many choices of beers and ales. Average pub with outside seating, although on the main road. Nice place to sit down and view the church with that deserved pint.

I feared the worse when I saw the generic looking menus but it was unfounded. I had a very nice seafood linguine (a bit of rocket on top was a nice touch) and the gammon steak. Very well priced as well.

The George and Dragon in Marlow has been refurbished and re-opened last summer. It is now attached to the new Premier Inn. I have been there on two occasions for Lunch and each time I have had a fairly well priced meal. First time a had the roast chicken and my friend had a curry. And the second time we all had the burgers (which were about £6.95 I think and came with 2 toppings from a choice of things like cheese, mushrooms, guacamole). The quality probably isn't amazing, but it is really quite good value for money. The staff were friendly and polite.
