Very friendly staff. Receptionists were really helpful, and particularly Susmita who dealt with a few of our issues. ||Breakfast was reasonable. The continental selection was much better than the hot food. The bacon was like rubber unfortunately and wasn’t even bacon really. More like warm slices of ham. Fresh fruit, bread, pastries were delicious. ||We stayed in a penthouse room. It was lovely to hang out on our balcony. However the electrics in the room were concerning, lose sockets, the tvs kept going off so there is definitely an issue there. ||We used the indoor pool, but it was pretty cold, and had a massage. I really wanted to use the jacuzzi however but it was already broken when we arrived and wasn’t fixed whilst we were there so that was disappointing. ||The hotel is in a good location with access to a good supermarket close by and plenty of restaurants. Highly recommend The Avenue and Blue Elephant, both less than 5 minutes from The George. ||So overall, lovely people but the facilities need updating and to be fixed more quickly. To be charging the rate we paid, I expected quite a bit more.

Ok but DARK.|I stayed here as part of a Gate 1 trip.|Pros: Clean room and nice lobby. Bring a reusable water bottle and fill up daily from their source. It’s very good water. The location is very good. Lots of shops, restaurants and bars nearby. There are grocery stores that are close as well. Rooftop pool ok. Staff very nice. |The daily breakfast is fine. Something for everyone.|Cons: I found my room to be very dark even with the curtains open and all the lights on. The elevator is dark too. If your eyesight isn’t what it used to be, you may not like it here.|My mattress has seen better days. I was quite shocked when I got in bed the first night and fell into a gully, but I did sleep well after 2 nights when I started taking Advil PM. |If I could do it over, I would stay at the Hilton.

Really nice place to stay, we got the penthouse suite first three of us which was at a discounted price when we paid, only £20 more than the normal room. The room was very big and the bed was huge, but the second bed was quite small however that was fine. Bathroom was lovely with a large shower and a bath. Balcony was huge although it was joined with the other balconies with no fence or anything, which would be good if you had a few rooms with friends in next to each other but as it was just us, it was a bit annoying to have other people right next to us when we just wanted to sit in our towels after showering, but that is a minor issue. The only other negative thing I would say is the floor inside and outside the room was quite dirty but apart from that the cleaning standards were good. The rooftop pool was very nice and mostly in the sun til about 6pm (our balcony was in the sun til around 2pm). They serve drinks and fries at the pool which were very nice and only 5€ for a big bowl of fries. Perfect locations for our girls trip, less than a five minute walk to the main strip and around 5/10 mins to the closest beach with lots of restaurants around and a couple of shops right on our doorstep. The beaches are quite stony though and minimal sand but that’s just a general review of the country. We were about a half an hour uber from Valetta, St Paul’s Bay (where cafe del mar is) and Sliema ferry port is about 15mins drive away which is where we went for a boat trip to Gozo and the blue lagoon (100% recommend). There’s also a water fountain downstairs in reception which saved us a lot of money on constantly buying water bottles since you can’t drink the tap water. There was also a spa downstairs which we briefly checked out but that looked quite nice. ||Overall a great stay and no real complaints about the hotel. Great location, great room and great country.

On the positive side the bedrooms and shower were good. On the negative, maintenance of the hotel was bad, the rooftop pool was lovely but the floor surrounding it was broken and dangerous. The restaurant was only open for breakfast which was below standard. The pool top bar was open from 11.00am to 7.00pm and the bar in the reception area was permanently closed. The lighting in the whole hotel including in the rooms was inadequate. The surrounding area was very noisy, the view from the swimming pool was of five cranes, although we had been assured by TUI that the surrounding building work had been completed. At night the street in front of the hotel was noisy, mostly from an all night bar selling very cheap alcoholic shots. The customers from this bar spilled into the street and were still carousing at 5.00am. A disappointing stay, not to be repeated.

I had high hopes I really did, the location itself is really good. However it is next to a lot of buildings undergoing construction which woke me up in our first morning ‘a Saturday’ from about 6.30 am. The room|Itself is large but the lighting is so poor. The minimal LED lights both in the bedroom and the bathroom which is even worse make it really hard to see and you can’t open the curtains as the room Opens into a courtyard where all rooms are facing each other! There are no USB charging facilities in the rooms which I would say for a ‘boutique’ hotel surely would be a given. The TV hardly worked due to poor Internet, the hair dryer was probably 10 years old attached to the wall in the bathroom, there was no sit down make up mirror and you couldn’t straighten your hair in the mirror in the bedroom as there was no socket to plug in near the wall which had the only mirror. The house keeping made the bed upside down so the duvet cover opening was by your head and not at your feet. The second time we went to the pool|Bar they had completely run out of beer and they said we could go and buy our own and bring it with us. Some of the wooden slats all round the pool lifted when you stepped on them. So I was actually really disappointed and I really don’t give negative reviews but this hotel isn’t boutique it’s just a hotel that has quite a few flaws that haven’t been fixed.

My partner and I stayed for a week in September. The experience was very disappointing overall. ||When we arrived the young man on reception advised us that they had overbooked and our accommodation was being downgraded. We weren’t contacted before our arrival to be notified of this. We had to move rooms during the trip which was very inconvenient. ||They advertise an indoor heated pool and Jacuzzi on their site. I looked forward to this as the heat outdoors during the day can be too much. Both have been out of order for months and they don’t notify you at all before your stay. No signs stating they had any plans to repair them either. ||The restaurant isn’t in the same building so ordering meals in the hotel isn’t actually an option, this again is contrary to the website. ||The walls were very thin so you could hear everything going on around your room. ||Had we known beforehand the facilities weren’t working we would have booked elsewhere. There’s plenty of other hotels in the area. Being downgraded was the cherry on top. We won’t be back to this hotel again.

Hotel okay for a short stay. Although modern in design, its very heavily used & in need of a refurb. (Loo seat worn, cracked tiles on the floor, wardrobe doors dont close due to wear). Rooms lovely & big. Beds comfortable. Rooms cleaned daily but they knock you up at 9am daily to do this, unless you put the 'do not disturb' sign on. But you still hear them knocking on doors. Road is a building site, not the hotels fault, but you will need ear plugs as they start at 8am & only stop on a Sunday. Breakfast is basic but ok. Bar at the pool closed & bar in reception not staffed. As I said, okay for a short stay, not for a week. We booked through Tui uk, (only mentioned building work half way down the t&cs). I would describe as a 3 star not 4. If youd like a late check out, after 11am its €10 per room, per hour.

I've stayed for two nights and the room was fine. The bath was not exactly clean because there was mold on the shower head. Also, when I've walked with my socks on the carpet, they got a bit dirty. The toilets, shower doors, and the entrance door to the room we're very loud, I've constantly heard the other residents of the hotel.
