The George, College Station (College Station, Texas) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The 60-acre mixed-use Century Square development, adjacent to the Texas A&M campus, is home to a multitude of shops, restaurants, and bars, as well as two boutique hotels. The George is the more luxurious of the two, and marries sleek urban-style design with hardy materials like richly figured wood and leather. King and Double rooms are swanky enough, while the Executive Suites spread out to 800 square feet. Downstairs, the 1791 Whiskey Bar is a sensible place to begin and/or end the evening, and Century Square’s restaurants begin right outside with Porters, an upscale chophouse and bar." - Tablet Hotels

We called ahead to ask on how to book a handicap room. They did ask what day we would be staying and it shouldn’t be a problem just add it to the notes. I book more than two weeks in advance. We showed up and could not get a handicap room because there were fireman men in town. Was the reason we were told. Asked we could provide a shower chair she said yes never got one. I asked later if she planed on doing she said yes she forgot and apologized we said it’s ok it’s late anyways after we made a purchase from the gift area. We walked into the room the design and décor is very impressive. However the smell is musty and the room was warm to hot and had to lower the A.C to get it to a decent temp. The location of the hotel is great around so many restaurants and shops all with in walking distance to please different appetites. Pretty cool feature is they have sheep that gust can put anywhere. They company might want to consider moving kitchen stuff outside window views. For a luxury upscale hotel it was an ok stay nothing to impressive other than location. One thing I forgot to mention, there was also what looked to be burn stains on the sheets.

A perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and Texas charm. The George offers an experience unlike anything I've had in a hotel. The mixed-use real estate around the hotel makes it a perfect location for an easy stay. There is no reason to leave the immediate vicinity of the hotel -- everything you could need for food or shopping is within a few footsteps. The George has a shuttle service for A&M home games. The bar is spacious with a great selection of top shelf spirits and bartenders who know how to mix your favorite cocktails. The hotel room showers are spacious and fit for a King.

We had an incredible experience thanks to Hugo! From the moment we arrived, his welcoming spirit made us feel right at home. His knowledge about whiskeys is truly impressive he guided us through some fantastic selections and shared stories that made the whole experience special. Hugo’s genuine warmth and expertise turned our one night stay into something memorable. We can’t wait to come back, not just for the amazing service and atmosphere, but to see Hugo again. He’s the real reason we’ll be returning!

Good location, pretty lobby, but the room fell short. Upon walking in, the room had a musty smell. The humidity level in the room was so high, that everything felt damp. I called front desk and the solution was to just make sure the air conditioner was turned on(it was). The humidity issue never really resolved and furniture/ carpet always felt damp, with the smell persisting. We live in a humid area and are accustomed to humidity, but not inside like this. Upon reading other reviews, this seems to be a common issue with the rooms and a/c system. The beds were actually really small for two adults, so just a heads up that they are smaller than the normal hotel experience. We’ve stayed at other Valencia hotels and had better experiences. For the price, it was just not a comfortable room to come back to at the end of the day.

Great hotel service, location and it smells wonderful and very clean. The bar is great too. Only thing is the beds and room are a little smaller than what you would expect. The bed sizes seam smaller than normal. Regardless, we love this place.

Literally one of the best hotel experiences I’ve EVER had! Justin,Emilee & Daisy at the front desk just really took care of us! Tried all of the restaurants on the property and AMAZING is all I have to say! Zeke at Porters took such good care of me and my friends ! Chloe at the Cantine was just so pleasant & wonderful and Juanita’s had the best margaritas! Major plus for us was our kids could play in the pools while we got to relax at the restaurants overlooking them! Literally right next to the pools! Shopping is all in the square , along with the movie theater and Popstroke ! The George will for sure be our go to in CS from now on along with all my friends and family! Great job to all these young adults with such professionalism and great manners! Trent the bellman of course was my favorite ❤️

My hotel stay was decent, but didn't quite meet my expectations. The location was excellent, making walking to shops, restaurants, a movie theater, and mini-golf easy. However, the hotel fell short in a few areas based on its advertisements. Their lounge was promoted as a whiskey bar, but they served my Old Fashioned in the wrong glassware, which caused the large ice cube not to fit in the bottom of the glass and the bourbon to sit below the ice. Additionally, I was charged $35 for early check-in, but the hotel did not fulfill that service. There was no acknowledgment or refund issued for the inconvenience. Again, the stay was decent. Not bad, not great, just decent.

I come to the pool at the Canteen and eat here frequently!! Amazing customer service, hospitable servers, and great food and drinks. Every experience I’ve had here has been great. There are always clean towels available at the pool, and you can walk into the restaurant to order food. There’s usually music playing and they sometimes have live music at night. Family friendly and the perfect place to enjoy a nice afternoon or peaceful night.
