MAINE in winter is glorious! We’ve just returned from a mini escape to Maine in winter, and what a wonderful surprise it was! The Jaquish is perfectly situated at the end of Bailey Island, offering views so stunning that even "breathtaking" doesn’t do them justice. Waking up to the sight and sound of the ocean in the crisp winter air was an unforgettable experience. The property itself was warm, inviting, and well-appointed—everything we needed for a cozy and relaxing stay. The charm of a Maine cottage combined with modern comforts made it the perfect retreat. The property managers, Mary and David, were incredibly responsive and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed. Even though it was winter and their other properties, part of The Gills Group, were closed, we were lucky enough to tour them, and they are just as charming—classic Maine cottages with beautiful, comfortable furnishings. Looking forward to our return, whether in winter again or another season. This stay exceeded our expectations in every way, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic escape!
