The best chicken salad in Memphis, full of fresh chopped herbs. Price points are below fast food and even grocery prices, so the more you purchase the more you will save. Their sourdough crackers are a sturdy shingle for all the summer salads and spreads. Perfect Parisian croissants, in a variety of flavors, are southern sized. Ample parking in front in the heart of Midtown. Local artists have tables set up with adorable earrings, fairy houses and crotchet crafts. Can't afford a vacation? Step in the Ginger's Bakery for a taste of Paris.

This place is a gem. We were driving around after eating lunch looking for something sweet and wanted to try out a new spot. This came up on Google and we decided to try it out. They have such a nice, diverse collection of treats including pastries, croissants , cookies AND cinnamon rolls. They also have an assortment of handmade items /gifts from local artists such as jewelry, hats, art, etc. Okay back to the goodies. I got the bourbon almond chocolate croissant, an espresso chocolate chip cookie and a bag of challah rolls. My sister said the cinnamon roll was the best she has ever had. The croissant is also on point. The challah rolls? So soft and the perfect amount of sweetness. Last but not least, the guy who checked us out had a great personality and was genuinely kind. We will definitely be back.

If you love the smell of freshly baked goodies, this is your place. They have many different kinds of breads, croissants, muffins, banana bread, cookies, breakfast pastries- all sorts of tempting stuff. They bake fresh with good ingredients. Try to visit them in the morning. Otherwise things run out quickly. Don’t miss their savory scone with cheddar and bacon. That’s too good. You will get previous day’s stuff in discounted rate too. Check this incredible place out. It’s near the Kroger grocery on union.

I just love this place. The little handmade items from different vendors inside the shop, the cinnamon rolls are always moist and delicious, the challah rolls are the best ever and the guy that's always there is always a pleasure to deal with as well. Best bakery in Memphis.

Google
Bought a bourbon pecan croissant, highly recommended. And a loaf of rosemary-black pepper bread, so good dipped in olive oil.

Google
Second-best sourdough bread in town (yes, we don’t have many options, still - this is good if a bit uneven). If you are on the fence about bread with a crust, come on Saturdays between 3 and 4pm for half-price breads, there just may not be any left. If you like classic sandwich bread, talk to them. They sell a soft crust sourdough to local restaurants, so they might add it to their regular offerings. Also, I took one of their focaccia breads to a party - everyone loved it (dipped in a little olive oil or straight up).

Google
Very nice bakery, I picked up a loaf of their challah bread for French toast, and it turned out great. The bread itself is very good, strudy, dense, with a touch of sweetness. This bread would be great with any choice of butter or jam. They have a good variety of bread, pastries, cookies, and they even have a bread slicer. Next time, I'll have to try a loaf of their wheat bread.

I came in just a few days ago for the first time early in the morning right after opening while they were still setting up and the guy behind the counter (I'm sorry I forgot his name!) stops everything he is doing and was able to explain everything they offer in detail. Excellent service and very excellent bread and pastries, thanks!

Yelp
As much as I love a Good bakery I Cannot believe it took me this long to experience the incredible creations at this place!! When I walked in I was enveloped by the beautiful aroma of fresh baked bread, that smell has a hold on me and I can't resist. I was greeted and my questions answered about their offerings and I somehow settled on a few items to try. I got the blueberry muffin, the chocolate chip cookie croissant, molasses cookie and the triple chocolate chip cookie. Let me just say, I'm in love! Everything was delicious. The chocolate chip cookie was buttery with a hint of salt. The molasses cookie had bits of ginger throughout. That chocolate chip croissant creation was in fact gooey on the inside. Lastly, the Blueberry Muffin was full of blueberries, an excessive amount and I'm here for all of it!! All I can say is if you like bakeries, you'll love this place! I want to thank The Ginger's Bread & Co for being Great!!!

Yelp
If you're looking for beautiful baked goods that are as delicious as they look, then look no further! My husband is a big fan of the croissants and if you're gluten free like me, then you NEED to get yourself one of the chocolate tahini cookies! This has now become a regular spot for me! The host is always very kind as well and keeps us informed of what might be coming soon. There is also a lot of other items for sale in the storefront. Local art and whatnots. It's always neat to see what's there.

Yelp
Wow! Chris and Anderson were awesome today. I came in to check it out, left with some awesome goodies. The gluten free-vegan Tahini cookie was so good. I can also attest to the pecan and almond crescents being phenomenal. I tried them in spite of my gluten allergy. Picked up a country sourdough loaf for my family. Already looking forward to popping back in sometime soon. Chris and Anderson were both very knowledgeable on the selections. Talk about a carb overload! Wow. So good though. Very chill and laid back vibes.

Yelp
The bakery was in a big room with a few other tables selling small stuff, like crochet bags and hair ties. Since I was there later there wasn't as much left in the bakery. But I got the chocolate croissant, it was good! I'd just want a little more of the chocolate filling though. And it was a little overpriced, since it was over 5 dollars for a croissant. And it wasn't amazing, but I understand since it's a small place why it costs a little more. But the service was good, they were nice and friendly. Not sure if I'd come back, but it's worth checking out, their bread looks pretty good.

Yelp
The products here are extremely high quality and delicious! I also find that the prices are reasonable. You can get fresh loaves of bread, cookies, pastries....really anything you can imagine getting from a bakery. Whenever I go, I buy at least 3 items to try because they are so affordable! I only wish their front of house was updated. They have a beautiful large space and I think they could do a lot more with it.

Yelp
I bought three cookies at the Pink Palace Museum gift shop. Now, I'm addicted to the delicious Ginger Molasses Cookies, and I need to get more! I certainly hope that they also make croissants and beignets.

Yelp
Made a quick stop here for the first time on my way to work. As I walked in the guy who helped me was plating their pear and ginger scones (if you haven't tried these yet pls do. They taste way better than you'd think). I also grabbed a ham and cheese croissant, which was also GREAT, very big and flaky. Everything tasted so fresh and the scone isn't overly sweet. The price is very reasonable for the portion size. Their space is so cute and open - has seating and other clothings/accessories you can buy.

Yelp
Oh yum!!! My favorite was the ginger pear tart! This place is good! Unique flavors that taste very good. Nice blend of sweet and also savory items. Fabulous for packing a picnic lunch. I would like to see tables, chairs, drinks and seating areas.

Yelp
The croissant bread is to die for! AND, the young man, Eric is so kind and nice! I had a lovely chat while getting my goodies! I got some cookies as well and my family loved them!

Yelp
The service was quick and very friendly! This was my first visit to this store. I tried 2 croissants and the country white sourdough bread. The pastries were flaky and delicious. The bread was perfect! I will be a regular at this store!

Yelp
This would be the longest Yelp review ever, if I told you all the great things about Ginger's, but, to summarize - if you are looking for a traditional bakery selling authentic bread, croissants, and cookies, you will not find better than here. These guys know how to laminate croissant dough. That's a skill few master. I've just eaten the best croissant I have had since I lived in France. Then, don't even get me started on the challah... And what a cute and quirky store and great guys, not only selling delicious baked goods, but it's also a little artisan craft gallery. Forget all those faux bakeries with their cupcakes and unicorn sprinkles - do yourself a favor and get down to this place - it's the real deal.

Yelp
Just updating my review from 2 years ago before Ginger's Bread opened their bakery on Union. Nice to see the more recent posts. If you enjoy fresh baked breads (great selection), scones (pear ginger) muffins (any of the berry muffins), cookies (ginger molasses) tarts, slices of misc cakes, pies, etc. be sure to stop in Ginger's. During Mardi Gras they had King's Cakes and muffulettas. Have found no other bakery like it in Memphis. Also misc gift items. Super nice folks. Buy local!

Yelp
Am thrilled there's a bakery like this not far from my downtown home. Have tried many of their breads & pastries & all are great. I especially like the scones -the pimento cheese scone is a favorite. Sour dough roasted garlic bread is excellent -wish garlic cloves were cut up more because they fall out of bread when you slice it. Other favorite is the almond tart (?). Don't know what it's called but it's delicious. Croissants are very good as is the Challah bread. I'm a little put off by the tables of thrift store type items & clothes for sale inside the bakery. It really takes away from the appeal of the bakery food. Not appropriate. I overlook it but am aware of several persons who couldn't. They left bakery without buying any baked goods after seeing what they thought was a yard sale. Local art is fine but should be displayed nicer & no flea market crap. I overlook it but many will be turned off by it & I want Ginger bakery to stay.

Yelp
These were the best croissants I have had in Memphis. We tried several...plain, almond and bourbon chocolate(i think) and they were all excellent

Too good to take a picture!!! The croissant and ham & cheese croissant was amazing. We can't wait to go back next Saturday. Everything looks beautiful and they have a good variety of bread and baked goods.

Yelp
Went in today to just check it out! Got a baguette to eat with some cheese. It was the perfect mix of crispy hand soft. The cookie we bought was also delicious. I'd definitely check this place out! Everything seems like it was made with real care and skill.

Yelp
Wow!!! Best croissants I have ever had! We ordered ahead online which was super easy and convenient. I ordered 2 butter croissants, one s'mores croissant, and one bourbon pecan and wow they were incredible! We will certainly be returning to try more baked goods!

Yelp
I've been getting their challah bread and sun dried tomato + basil sourdough from highpoint grocery for some time now. I've been baking sourdough for multiple years and can say: this stuff's legit. I'm stoked to try their NEW instore location at 1613 Union. God bless the artisans.

Yelp
Oh Ginger's Bread & Co.!   This is ARTISTRY!  The sourdough breads are almost too pretty to eat.  Favorites for me are the Kalamata olive, tomato basil, and country white (toasted and served with jam and butter YES PLEASE).  From dipping in oils/vinegars, taking sandwiches completely to the next level , adding small slices to charcuterie boards, etc. I cannot  get enough of these sourdough breads.  Perfect texture!  I have also had the cranberry white chocolate scones and the chocolate croissants and they are dreamy.  SO PERFECT with a cup of coffee for breakfast, dessert, or afternoon pick me up.  On  Tuesdays and Fridays Ginger's Bread delivers their stock to High Point Grocery and I try to get by there in time to stock up.  There is also the option to order online for pickup on Linden in midtown.  Instructions and options for that are clear on the website and the time that I went that route it was simple.

Yelp
I love love love this place. Try the croissants and you will love them too. Easy on-line ordering. I am so happy to have this place in our neighborhood!

Yelp
