15 Best Places to Go Glamping in the U.S.

"Looking for an off-the-grid North Carolina getaway that trades a hotel room for something a bit more whimsical and wild? Asheville Glamping gives travelers the chance to shack up in a family-friendly safari tent, a dome with a colorful spiral slide and private hot tub, a romantic treehouse hidden away across suspension bridges, or an “invisible” glass cabin. The entire setup feels like a childhood fantasy turned reality." - Travel + Leisure Editors

My husband and I loved staying at the Glamping collective! The domes are well decorated and functional. It’s a hike to get there but so worth it. The amenities allow relaxation and fun. From the hot tub, fireplace, and trails we were never bored. The kitchen is fully equipped with whatever supplies you may need as well. They are also stocked with extra towels, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies.

I had an incredible stay at The Glamping Collective! The accommodations were absolutely stunning—I stayed in the Ultra Luxe Dome, and it exceeded all expectations. The dome was beautifully designed with a super comfortable king-sized bed, a private hot tub on the deck, and a luxurious spa-inspired bathroom. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated to provide the perfect balance of comfort and style. One important tip: the road to the property is steep and unpaved from the entrance, so I recommend using a vehicle with all-wheel drive, especially in wet or snowy conditions.

As a romantic getaway, we decided to stay in the glass cabin at The Glamping Collective. The cabin was beautiful with all the necessary amenities. It was quiet and very peaceful. Great place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The rooms are luxury meets nature! Beautifully stocked kitchen, super soft pillows and bedding; all things you need for quick getaway! The dome widow is perfect for looking at the gorgeous views or stars at night, but the best thing is they also offer a huge curtain to allow for late sleeping! One of my favorite features was the open concept bathroom with heated floors and heated toilet seat! Unfortunately it was a bit too cold/windy to enjoy the hot tub during our stay, but watching it snow on the porch was a memory I won’t soon forget. This place is just gorgeous spot for a couple’s getaway!

This place is amazing! The views are beautiful and they are equipped with everything you need for a super comfortable, unique stay. We hiked, grilled, chilled by the fire and enjoyed an amazing time together as a family. It’s very close to a cute town and you can find groceries and restaurants 5-10 minutes away. Will definitely come back!

This was our second trip to the Glamping Collective and it never disappoints. This year was a last minute decision to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in the glass cabin this time (a dome the first time). Both were incredible. We learned the first time to bring meals to cook as the ride down the mountain takes some time. Definitely suggest to come prepared. We love coming and bringing our dog, hiking the trails and soaking in the private hot tub after a long day. We will definitely return to the Glamping Collective again.

This was our second trip to the Glamping Collective and we will be making more in the future! The location is remote and quiet and the views are stunning. We stayed in an Ultra Luxe Dome our first trip in 2023 and in an Ultra Luxe Cabin this trip. Both were awesome! The property is beautiful and there are 3 different trails to hike. We always bring our dog and have a great time here.|I definitely recommend being prepared as it is a decent trek down the mountain to the grocery store and other amenities. If they are calling for any kind of inclement weather, you will need four wheel drive as the roads up the mountain are steep and the driveway is gravel.|The staff communicates well via text message and responds quickly to any questions or issues you may have.|If you are looking for a beautiful remote getaway that still puts you within 20 minutes of Waynesville and 30ish minutes of Asheville, then you need to book today! Can't say enough good things about this place and we will be returning soon.

We stayed in an ultra luxe dome and the view was incredible! The dome was very clean and well appointed. Everything you need if you wanted to cook there is available. We recommend pushing the table to the window and having dinner at sunset. We thoroughly enjoyed star gazing from the hot tub. The fire pit and grills were perfect for staying warm while we grilled out. Judith and team were very responsive and flexible, great communication. We HIGHLY recommend The Glamping Collective for a wonderful mountain getaway!! Be sure to support local resultants and businesses while there.
