"There’s no better place in Hobart for a sundowner than this bar and restaurant, situated on the pier where the ferry to the Museum of Old and New Art departs. Its menu is filled with Asian-inflected dishes such as Korean fried chicken and pork belly bao."

We had a fantastic lunch here! The staff were amazing from the moment we arrived, very attentive, friendly and helpful. They were happy to answer questions about the menu and offer suggestions if required. It was also lovely that our water glasses were topped up regularly without having to ask. We loved our meals. The food was delicious and fresh and nicely presented. The chairs were very comfortable and we were seated right next to the wonderful big windows looking out over the water. It was a lovely place to sit and they were happy for us to sit and chat after our meal, we definitely weren't rushed out! There are two unisex accessible bathrooms, with grab rails that drop down on both sides of the toilet as required, which was great.

It was my 60’s birthday! My wifie treated me to a trip to Hobart. We looked at places to celebrate online and intuitively picked Glasshouse. What a blast. The Hobart harbour looked sensational at sunset and the warm welcome at the restaurant made us feel ready for an exceptional gustatory experience. The degustation menu could be adjusted to pescatarians and was just simply out of here. So good indeed. The staff was amazing. Although we had to tame the “big boss” .. No we didn’t , he was more than Ok! A very memorable 60th birthday celebration! XO

$85 feed me menu is a lot of food! But well worth it for the diverse range, produce was fresh and presentations was interesting. Everything from morowong sashimi to a pork schnitzel and spetzal took my taste buds on a journey. Staff were friendly and attentive and ambience is nice surrounded by the Hobart waterfront.

Beautiful venue on the water. Well spaced tables with luxurious comfy chairs. One can have a drink and bar snacks during the day / evening but we were there for lunch. We had a cauliflower dish which looked impressive but was a bit raw. Hard to cut which made it difficult to share. The beetroot salad was superb, as was the chicken liver parfait. The waiter was lovely and friendly which made it even more special. We watched the Mona ferry depart and arrive a couple of times plus the seaplane. July 2023 - I've visited a second time and it was just as good. They now have a special of pot pie on the lunch menu. We had arancini, beetroot salad and bao with a fish cake. Dolphins were larking about in the water near the restaurant.

Excellent location with unobstructed harbour views from the main dining area. Very good service, and quite creative cuisine Their stracciatella heirloom tomatoes were amazing perfectly ripe and sweet with Parmesan pangritata for some crunch, for me they were the highlights of the meal. The eye fillet was melt in the mouth tender, roast cauli a large serve with nice savoury miso enhancing the browning of it, was about half a cauliflower. Dessert (the lime one) was just as creative as the rest of the meal with none of the components overly sweet, perfectly refreshing after a big meal. They have a happy hour also which I notice included $12 cocktails and deals on beer, would be a great place to hang out and have some early evening drinks.

Came here for a dinner with my wife on our honeymoon. Was recommended by a Hobart local and it certainly did not disappoint. Firstly, the service. Our table was waited on by a woman named Dola. Every tiny attention to detail was perfectly managed and attended to by her. She was polite, discreet, gave sound advice and overall just made the night an unforgettable experience. The food and drinks were also equally commendable. We opted for the “feed me” option and it was a perfect choice. The variety of the dishes and flavor profiles were an absolute joy to eat. The cocktails were of a high caliber. I would thoroughly recommend this bar/restaurant for any couple visiting Hobart. The views from our table were the icing on the cake for our fantastic night.

My partner and I came here for dinner and opted for the $55 Feed Me option. This included a delicious array of entree dishes, main dishes and desserts, all for great value. The food was all delicious, as were the drinks we ordered (we especially liked the Rhubarb and Ginger G+Ts). We were impressed with the atmosphere and music and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Google
Excellent service, creative food, loved 3 out of the 4 dishes we ate. Sambas squid was a bit too ambitious and ended up just tasting like uncooked turmeric. Great cocktails . Pricy but good for a treat. Can't really see any view after dark. Can be a bit loud because of the square class Box layout .

Yelp
Fantastic view of the dock. recommend to catch last bit of day light here after a little shopping at Brooke Street dock local vendor. Once it gets dark then it was nothing but glistering lights from the bar. Service was fantastic.... and they offer wine by the half glass... which is so good for a traveler who wants to taste as much as possible.

Yelp
Small servings, most like tapas. Delicious food. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Fantastic wine choices and spot on pairing suggestions. Enjoyed the view of the harbor.

Yelp
We asked our waitress to pace our dishes, so that they don't come all at once. We waited for the two cold dishes for over 30 minuets. Ten minutes after the cold dishes arrived, the three hot dishes arrived all at once. We complained to our server, she did nothing. - Kingfish carpaccio: 4/5 - Wallaby tartare: 5/5 - Kale with crispy brussel sprouts: 2/5 (Too greasy) - Lamb: 0/5 (We got 3 U.S. quarter coin size meat out of 3 chops, the rest is mostly blubbery fat) - Beef: 3/5 (More medium than medium rare) Not recommended.

Yelp
Ooh, the Glass House is a fancy place for fancy people. I'm occasionally fancy people, so thank goodness I have the option of this place to head to when the occasion calls for it. I will ALWAYS delight when a new cocktail place opens in Hobart, because when I moved here three years ago they were few and far between, and mama needs her gin cocktails. And who knew cocktails paired so well with Japanese-influenced cuisine? The soft shell crab bao took me to another place, it was so good. It was SO good. Beautiful fresh salmon sashimi, too! I've only been of an evening so far but the Glass House is going to be absolutely divine on long summer evenings when it's still light and you can gaze out at the water with a divine cocktail in hand. I'm making plans. I'd better make some reservations.

Yelp
My wife chose this restaurant to celebrate her 70th birthday. The 6 of us have never been so disappointed. Eating after 6 p.m. theGlass House becomes a house of mirrors. She chose to go with the shared meal option, which surprised me as she doesn't like oysters. She ate one scallop of the first entree. Waiting nearly 45 minutes for our second dish, we were served up a very small portion of salmon and this glob of vegetables so smothered with soy sauce that it was hardly edible. In a nutshell, we found nothing to our liking. In fact, a lady in our party, who managed a restaurant for 25+ years, said it was one of the worse meals she had ever eaten! Thank goodness, the company we were was great. In your ad you rave about your mixed drink selection. Why doesn't your bar tender go to America and learn how to make a proper cocktail?

Yelp
Terrible service. Forgettable food. Ridiculous prices. Other than that, what's not to like?

Yelp
Service was impeccable! At the start of the night our waiter was Opeti and by the end of the night him and I became homies! The food was really nice and the presentation was great Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Absolutely loved our night there. First visit and won't be the last, and had a great table overlooking the water. The cuisine is very much tapas style but absolutely delicious and the chefs present it as a work of art. We pretty much went through the menu from sashimi, kingfish ceviche, pork belly, quail, new potatoes, mushrooms served with a poached egg and we chose a beautiful wine South Australian Shiraz to wash it all down . Thoroughly enjoyed our night even though we were an early sitting. Highly recommend it for a meal or even just a drink. Terrific service and pricing.

Yelp
If you want a seat at this restaurant, you need to book. We visited The Glass House on a Wednesday evening, and simply sat at the bar, as we had not booked in advance. The view from the restaurant is fantastic, overlooking the water, CSIRO vessel and into the harbour. When you first open the menu, it may be different to what you see on many review websites, due to the menu frequently being changed. You'll then turn to the second page of what appears to be a book, and my goodness it is quite a drinks list. The options are endless, although I would certainly recommend the cocktails, as this place is known for them. Now for the food.. it was by far one of the best tapas style restaurants I have ever experienced. My favourite dishes were the quail and pork shoulder. If you're in Hobart, make sure you add The Glass House to your itinerary.

Yelp
I came here after a day at the MONA and it was hot and i was a tourist and let's just say i was not looking super fresh. the ferry from the museum lets you off in the pier that also houses this restaurant though, and we were starving and in a pinch for time, so we just walked in and hoped for the best. and they let us in! the restaurant is beautiful, the bar is lit in warm lovely light and the view of the water on three sides is really really nice. we ate fried chicken which was has honestly kept me up at night since i ate it -- like i just want it again real bad. we also has prawns with pork belly and a selection of tasmanian cheese and everything was awesome. there was also albacore and a kingfish hamachi which looked excellent. the fish was clearly very fresh and prepared with the perfect amount of seasoning that let the quality ingredients shine. not as expensive as you would expect, and absolutely delicious! cant wait to go again.

Yelp
Beautiful location. Divine oysters -- go with the natural as opposed to the sauces. Salmon sashimi is also first rate. However have to mark this place down for the most offensively priced alcohol I've ever experienced -- more than Paris, London Tokyo NYC. Ridiculous. Would have been 4 or 5 stars but for the alcohol prices for the smallest pour ever (60 mils/ 2oz) for US$20. Obscene.

Yelp
Incredible cocktails! Beautiful balance and wonderful flavours. The food looked great and we hope to get back here again to eat. Price tag is very reasonable considering the atmosphere, service and view. Well done!

Yelp
Great vibe with lots of attentive staff. Table service for drinks, they keep refilling your water and the chips were AWESOME. Nice view too.
