The Glebe House

Came to North Berwick for a three day golf trip and found the Glebe House to be excellent. The house is literally in the center of the charming town. The home is gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the full Scottish breakfast is outstanding....worth the trip in and of itself. Gwen and her husband are lovely people who made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend.

We spent two nights at The Glebe House in North Berwick.|We had a wonderful time staying there. Gwen served a delicious breakfast in a beautiful dining room. We had the run of the ground floor with two spacious sitting rooms. Our four poster bed as a treat. Gwen went so far as to dry my clothes after an incredibly wet round of golf and helped us get to the train station. My wife loved all the little touches in Glebe house. Recommended by friends and supported by excellent trip advisor reviews, we decided to book three nights at Glebe House. Well we weren't disappointed. The house is beautifully decorated and in its own lovely grounds. Gwen and Jake are lovely hosts who made us feel at home but never intruded. The breakfasts were wonderfully cooked and presented by Gwen. She was was very helpful and even obliged by fulfilling my wife's yearning for rhubarb. Can't recommend Glebe House enough. Thanks to Gwen and Jake for letting us share their beautiful home!

Looking out your large bedroom windows overlooking St. Margaret's Church belltower (it runs two minutes fast) and the waters of the Firth of Forth, one can almost feel what is was like 200 years ago to look out those same windows at a similar setting. All guests who stay at Glebe House are fortunate that Gwen Scott has opened her gorgeously furnished home as a high-end B&B. Bedlinen, towels, showers and furniture are all of superior materials, there are fine paintings and china collections --but no pretentiousness is observed. There is a small, colorful garden patio where you can sit and read a book. Gwen will provide solid advice about local food establishments and arrange for a table for you just a short walk away.||Why not choose to stay in style as you visit East Lothian for golf, walking, the sea or visiting gardens? You won't find a finer B&B.

Sara and Dave are the perfect hosts and looked after us extremely well. Glebe House is a stunningly beautiful house with all sorts of beautiful artworks and carved wood everywhere. The fact that we had our own lounge where we could just relax and watch TV or read a book made such a difference! The afternoon tea, evening dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious - I have never eaten so much for a long time! I will definitely be back. Five stars for Glebe House - I would give it six if I could.

This is a first rate B&B in all respects. Gwen has left nothing to chance. The house has spacious and elegant gathering areas. The bedrooms and baths are equally elegant, with numerous appointments. The dining room is impressive as are the breakfasts Gwen prepares. She is knowledgable about the area and helpful in making reservations at local eateries. My recent second visit was as memorable as the first and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience a truly unique experience.

2 couples stayed 3 nights for local golfing! Great location. Delicious filling breakfast. Gwen the proprietress was very charming, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity to return to beautiful North Berwick. Great golf course!

We started our stay in Scotland at the Glebe House, and could not have been happier. An elegant and comfortable house with welcoming hosts and a great breakfast. Easy parking is a plus, and a short walk down the hill to the center of town. You couldn't go wrong staying here.
