This place is always packed for good reason. Perfectly cooked steak with yummy sauces. (Sorry forgot to take pic too busy eating) sides were good. Loved the pumpkin. The tartare was ok but absolutely loved the bone marrow. Prob the best bone marrow taste and presentation I've had. Staff were sooo good. Thankyou Jonte, Joanna & Anouk. You can tell everyone who works there loves their job & that also makes food taste a whole lot better. Highly recommend would return 💥💥💥💥

Absolutely unforgettable meal. The chocolate fed wagyu and bone marrow were the stars of the show. Everything we ordered from dinner to drinks to dessert was incredible. Special shout out to Mitch and Clark for fantastic service!!! The vibe here was also perfect. Best meal in Australia while visiting. Cannot recommend enough!

Eating out with children who have severe allergies can be incredibly stressful—with hits and misses. But The Glenelg Public House at Mermaid Beach turned that into a completely carefree experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff and kitchen team made it effortless to ensure it was normalised and handled with care and professionalism. Their attention to allergy protocols was outstanding, and it gave us the rare gift of relaxing and truly enjoying our magnificent meal. The food was exceptional—fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. It’s clear this team takes pride in what they do, and it shows in every interaction. A huge thank you to everyone! You’ve earned our trust and our loyalty—we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

A good friend of mine offered to take me out for birthday dinner. This was my first proper Glenelg experience. I’d heard so much about this place and how good it is, only to be left underwhelmed and disappointed. Upon arrival I mentioned my booking which apparently “didn’t exist” which was later found by using my mobile number and told that the table had already been seated even though there was no one sitting there. We ordered some cocktails which came out okay, then onto the food which couldn’t have gone any worse. I told the waiter that I wanted a 500g dry aged porter house which I asked for very clearly. I even pointed it out on the menu and said the price of the steak which was “$86”. He somehow wrote down rump cap after my clear instructions. They brought us the wrong steak and I said that doesn’t look like a 500g steak so they returned it. They replaced our sides and said they would also make my friends steak again for the muck around. The manger approached us almost as if this was our fault and took our cutlery and napkins which never got returned. They later brought out the correct steak but gave my friend the original steak they had brought out 20 mins earlier. So he was left with a dry steak that had been sitting around for 20 minutes and we had no cutlery to eat our food with. Safe to say I won’t be returning to this restaurant and the hype was all for nothing.

The Glenelg delivered some of the best food I've had in a while. The bone marrow was rich, flavourful and perfectly done as well as the steak and greens. Unfortunately the service didnt quite match the quality of the food. We had to wait around a bit and it wasn't busy when we there, just a general lack of attentiveness. Still the food alone makes it worth the visit.

We were eager to try some Australian steak, and we found this amazing place! It absolutely exceeded our expectations. While I personally don’t eat beef, my family couldn’t stop raving about the tomahawk steak even the day after we left, and they’re still talking about it long after our trip 😆👍🏼 As for me, I had the grilled red emperor served with potato purée, and it was fantastic. The fish was incredibly fresh, with a beautifully grilled flavor, and the potato purée was rich and creamy—such a perfect complement! We also ordered the roast pumpkin to share, and it was absolutely fantastic—a delightful side dish. To top it all off, we had their apple pie, which was nothing short of incredible! The crust was flaky, filled with tender apples and spiced just right. The staff was super friendly and very patiently detailed the steak menu with us, helping us make the best choices. Everything we tried was perfect. Highly recommend this place!

It’s very rare to find truly excellent restaurants on the Gold Coast, but Glenelg is definitely one of them! The service was outstanding — super attentive — and the food was amazing. Honestly, the best meat I’ve ever had. Chef Lorenzo is incredible!!! 10/10

We arrived on time but our table wasn’t ready. This was no issue at all I was happy to wait, they sat us up at the bar and gave us a free drink or 2 while we waited which I thought was a lovely gesture. The area our table was in was a tad too dark and a bit loud with it being so busy but that’s normal for going out on Friday at peak dinner time. Our server was amazing , the service was really great. She even fixed our table so it wasn’t wobbly. As soon as my drink was empty they were there ready to top it back up. I had the bone marrow which was to die for. Absolutely loved that. Also had the Wagau which was cooked to perfection and the red currant jus was delicious. The carrots as a side there was plenty and had a beautiful pistachio sauce. Really enjoyed my time , great service , and great food!
