The distillery is GORGEOUS. The tasting area, also gorgeous. But there were a few kinks in the works here.
Firstly, we arrived not long after opening time to the tasting room, we were the only customers. There were at least three employees around but it took many minutes and several requests for anyone to help us. Sigh. Plus, they were all wearing TShirts and honestly, didnt match at all with the upscale vibe of the decor and ambiance.
Once we did get someone, they weren't keen on doing anything but bringing us what we ordered. No descriptions, no upsells, nada.
Despite the basic service, we did enjoy most of what we had selected. We especially liked that the selections on the menu were annotated if they weren't available for purchase. It's so sad to fall in love and not be able to buy a bottle you loved. We all fell madly in love with the Nadurra, and it was not marked as unavailable. Woohoo! Except....when we went to buy one, it was not available. Damn.
We enjoyed the decor and the whisky, but Glenlivet left a lot to be desired.
