THE GLOBAL VIEW Nagasaki

The hotel is about 10 mins walk from Nagasaki station - easiest option is to go out the West exit, turn right and continue walking straight, cross the road (walking past the car park) and continue going until you get to the underpass then cross the road and turn right (walking under the underpass and turn left at the end and straight on (walking over a little bridge) and the hotel is on the right side of the road. The hotel is also literally next to a tram stop, so convenient for exploring the city if you don't want to walk. The room is very spacious and the single twin beds were each small doubles. Going into the hotel lobby is like stepping back in time with a huge grand piano and plenty of seating. This is a vintage hotel with all the trimmings. The staff were great, we arrived too early to check in so left our luggage with them while we went exploring, when we got back it had already been moved into the room. It's not the most modern room and the bathroom could do with updating, but all the basics were there. Nice PJs were provided. There was even a separate section in the room bin for plastic bottles. There is a 24hr Family Mart downstairs, so great for stocking up on snacks. The onsen is large and can fit about 30 people, just remember to take your own towels from the room. Breakfast had a good selection of Japanese and Western dishes (vouchers provided at check-in) and best of all a good selection of fresh fruit.

This review is a reflection of my December 2025 stay at this hotel. It was my first time staying at this hotel and first time in Nagasaki. The employees were really kind and accommodating; they even held the elevator door open for us. The hotel breakfast was excellent, and the ordinary twin room was quite spacious for two single beds. I accidentally misplaced my bag at the hotel breakfast area, and I did not realise that my bag was missing until we had already left the hotel for a few hours. I couldn’t go back to get it as we were doing a Kyushu round trip and we were already in Kumamoto. I was very stressed and immediately messaged the hotel to ask if they had seen my bag. Honestly, I didn’t expect to get it back. However, the staff were extremely helpful and they managed to find my bag. After working out a place to deliver my bag, I managed to receive my bag 3 days later at a hotel in Mount Aso. It was a very stressful experience for me but I am so grateful for the extremely helpful staff who managed to get my bag back to me. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Nagasaki!

I was delighted with the room. It is spacious and beds are comfortable. Hotel guests has to pay for parking (underground). We walked to the train station area and also to the ropeway station on foot,all very manageable. A Family Mart outside the hotel in case you need the night snack.

Great hotel in an excellent location. Buses and trams just outside the door. Halfway between peace park and train station. Took us 15 minutes walk. Spotlessly clean. Big rooms, great views. Lovely staff at reception. Very helpful and kind. Brilliant breakfast. Lots of choices. Coffee shop inside the foyer and onsen in the hotel. Overall I would highly recommend it.

Hotel location is central and near Nagasaki Station. Staff service is good. Room is spacious. However, the room is stuffy. The air con temperature was adjusted too high to be comfortable. The staff tried to adjust it lower but could not. Apparently it is the central control thingy.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were very polite and always helpful, making the experience comfortable from check-in to check-out. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a rich choice of food to suit different tastes. The location is also very convenient, with a bus stop and Family Mart just outside the hotel, which made getting around and picking up daily necessities very easy. I especially appreciated the onsen facilities, which were clean, relaxing, and a highlight of my stay.

I am currently staying at this hotel. It is terrible. The rooms are old. The carpets are stained. We are also vegetarians and the only thing they could give us for the breakfast is lettuce and a tiny plate of steamed vegetables. For dinner, after our morning issues, we arranged our own food and we asked for help in heating up the food. We needed a bowl which they were unwilling to provide. Please avoid this place. There are much better options in Nagasaki. Edit: Since the hotel has asked for clarity, I will share more details. We paid 58000 JPY for 2 nights in 1 room (paid extra to include breakfast). To start, we walked in carrying a lot of baggage which not one person offered to help us with. Later, I asked for help and they casually pointed to a luggage trolley. Later, we saw the staff helping others with their baggage. On our first day of breakfast, we went and noticed there were almost no items that were vegetarian. We talked with the staff and the chef and they said there is nothing they could provide. They said it was too late even though we were there one hour before closing time. So we ate plain rice and lettuce then they gave us 4-5 pieces of steamed vegetables (literally). Later in the day, we arranged our own food (since the hotel has zero vegetarian options) and as mentioned, we wanted to heat it up. One item was a soup. I asked for a bowl to heat it up. The staff said he could not provide it and I would need to use a plate. After multiple times of asking, he later said I could try to wrap the soup on the plate. After, I requested to speak to a supervisor. The staff took me the lobby and made me wait on the couch for 10 minutes. Today, we are checking out and we did not go for breakfast even though we paid extra for it because of the terrible experience. As mentioned as well, the cleanliness of the hotel is poor. Our carpet has stains on it. We both got an allergy from the carpets. They are old and must not be washed properly. There is no ventilation in the rooms. The purifier provided is dusty itself. The service is really poor. There are much better options at this price range in Nagasaki. Please avoid this and go elsewhere.

If you want to stay at a central hotel that has everything you need and the sort of creature comforts you deserve, book into the Global View. I was there four three nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. From the moment I walked into the very spacious, imposing, marble lined entrance lobby I was captivated. Being a musician, the Yamaha grand piano sitting centre stage was very inviting, as were the helpful and very polite booking in staff. They spoke English too, which was a real bonus for me, having only eight Japanese words to my name! The room was very spacious and beautifully presented and all the facilities, like cafe, two restaurants and public baths (male and female) were excellent. It was incredibly hot outside, so the hotel was a cool sanctuary. The Stadium, a few minutes walk away, also offered a great supermarket and plenty of places to eat. There is even a Starbucks for the coffee lover. With a 7/11 out side the front door of the hotel there was even a place for last minute essential. The hotel is a 30 minute walk to the Atomic Bomb museum and other attractions, so well placed. Several shopping malls are also nearby.
