We were a return visitor, but with our last stopover several years ago when under different management. While I'm rating 3/5, we had a very pleasant overnight stay, comfortable bed and nicely appointed room. A welcoming and friendly owner host. I would happily stay again. My rating reflects the lack of a few things that have come to be expected, and for some people essential, at this price point in comparable historic lodgings. Wifi is not good throughout the building, nor in all rooms. The TV reception is very poor, on lap top size old sets, with no Smart televisions. We love the building and location, and can do without TV and internet for a night, plus pick up anything essential on my mobile 4-5G. However a cottage Airbnb at comparable price will deliver more amenities, as will a much cheaper motel if only in town for a night.

What a charming place :) so much character and you can tell it’s been so well cared for and loved. Absolutely beautiful verandah upstairs. There were teas and coffee and cookies available, made us feel so welcome. We stayed in the junior queen room and it was perfect. Bed was comfortable (actually the softest sheets and the best quality pillows I’ve ever had at a hotel). Charlie recommended a wine bar down the road that we went to and loved! Thanks Charlie and team! We’ll be back!

Disappointed. Difficult to get into the front door. Garden room quaint but grubby. Floor in front of the toilet collapsed. Had to search for firewood and wine glasses. And advertised as having breakfast, but no breakfast. Sorry to be so negative, but we wasted our money.

We booked a room here abt 3 or 4 weeks ago. On arrival we were told they have stopped doing breakfast. Disappointing as many have said how wonderful it was. We thought it would have been polite to have called us beforehand and told of this matter. We were told we were ‘upgraded’ to a two bedroom (that we didn’t need or use), and the shower was a shower rather than a shower over a bath (which would have been quite fine) $203.40 While there is tea, coffee, electric jug and a couple of biscuits there is no fridge in your room (there is a tiny one in the common room). The tv is the size of a laptop. Just keep in mind it is a very old building so floors and doors squeak

Quite nice rooms, aircon was touch and go, but Charlie hung up twice on us (we where firm but polite) when trying to resolve him booking double booking someone into one of the rooms we pre booked months in advance.

Quirky! Had a lovely time, the room had a lot of character. We were very glad of the wood fire which we kept going all night but even so it was cold in the morning. Breakfast was lovely. Location is great. It was nice sitting in the balcony in the winter sun and would probably be even nicer on an summers evening.

5 couples had 3 nights mid week at The Globe Inn and it was perfect for our group. The location was convenient and made for an easy walk around town to look at the old buildings. ||Each room was comfy, well appointed and had an en suite bathroom. Breakfasts were included and very good. There was a lounge area at the end of the main room - comfortable and with a fireiplace which would be lovely in winter. ||The big bonus for our group was the huge under-cover balcony upstairs - plenty of casual chairs and a table with chairs if you wanted to eat lunch you'd brought back||Julia was a fabulous host - bright, bubbly and nothing was too much trouble . Husband Charlie was very friendly too, although he was a busy man and we didn't see a lot of him.|There was plenty of help-yourself tea & coffee n the main room and Julia always had some yummy home-made biscuits/little cakes available. Plenty of supplies of bottled water, too.||I can highly recommend The Globe Inn, particularly for a group escape.
