The Golden Eye

The Golden Eye in Santa Fe is truly one of a kind. I’ve officially decided to save my entire jewelry budget to make an annual visit—it’s just that good. The craftsmanship and beauty of their pieces are unmatched. I’ve genuinely never seen anything like it. What makes it even better is the quality—these aren’t just special occasion pieces. They’re made to last and truly perfect for everyday wear and special occasion. I love that I can wear something beautiful and meaningful every day and know it will stand the test of time. Susan has been wonderful both times I’ve visited, and today I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Patrice. They’re fantastic at what they do—not only great saleswomen, but warm, kind-hearted people who are a joy to be around. Somehow, I always find something I can’t live without in there (darn it!). Thank you to the amazing ladies and the talented artists behind the scenes. I love supporting local, hardworking women creating truly stunning, wearable art.

The shop is small and tucked into an unassuming building but the treasures inside are unique, and stunning. The artists are a hoot to chat with, getting to know you and help arrange pieces that showcase your taste and personality. Their user friendly website is beautiful. I’m pretty certain I will be back to the store as well as their site to add to my collection.

After visiting The Golden Eye, and talking to the ravishingly lovely Patrice Ray, I asked my mom if this was the store she had bought some of her jewelry from whilst in Santa Fe. It was! My mom has quite a few pieces from The Golden Eye. My mom is Egyptian and was a professional travel writer for many years owning The Gallivanter's Guide. She's now retired in Europe and I live between the US and France myself. We are both familiar with Egyptian style jewelry and collect vintage and new pieces regularly. The Golden Eye is just one of those places you really have to visit when in Santa Fe. The owners are invested in this store; since 1971 it's been a gem in Santa Fe, and you won't find anywhere like it in America. The quality of the pieces is outstanding and the creative uniqueness of each piece, means you own something nobody else will. I'm definitely going to buy a few pieces myself although they're mostly high-end gold and I prefer silver; there really is something for everyone here and the staff (who are really so much more than staff, they are the breathing vessel of The Golden Eye) make the experience of knocking on this little wonderment, a sacred and special journey. Do go. If you want to buy a present for someone special The Golden Eye is the one store I'd ensure I visited. A real asset to Santa Fe, it's boutique stores like this that make Santa Fe shopping such a delight; long may it last.

My family has been buying delicious treasures from Golden Eye for 30+ years! We've all got a different version of the falcon - I've got the earrings, my mom and sister-in-law have pendants, my brother and dad have it as their wedding bands. I've more recently, elatedly, been more rapidly increasing my Golden Eye collection because they truly are GEMS. I am a big fan of old world style and juicy, succulent gems, and Golden Eye has both (and then some!) in spades. The highest quality and the most luscious, stand out designs in velvety 18-20K yellow gold. I want every friggin thing in there! It's hard...you know? Because I can't have everything in there. Wait. Can I? Please?\ The ladies who work at GE are also true gems. They're such a special bunch of women who make the experience all the more lovely. Funny, personable, down to Earth, helpful. It's just a joy to explore the trove of golden treasures that adorn these walls! We will keep coming back for more and more and more.

I have long wanted to visit this shop, and don't often get to Santa Fe; but what a treat to finally step in this past week... the treasures! The women running the shop were just so wonderful, and fun, and welcoming whether we were to buy or not. But I did, a little trinket for my daughter, the Egyptian fly charm (I had a golden metal one when she was a wee one that she loved), I bought it in sterling which is what she prefers). I will be back to treat myself in September.

I saw this place because of their billboard ad on my way to Santa Fe from Albuquerque and as a picky jewelry-maker myself was surprisingly intrigued by the brightly colored, high-quality gemstones and high-karat yellow gold in magnificent, Egyptian-inspired settings. They currently have a 6 person limit with a cute, little, locked Dutch door that they have to let you into. Joan assisted me and was wonderful to converse with. It's so nice to feel like you're on the same page with the shop-keeper. She was lovely and the jewelery made me want to drool and eat it all up, as it's so incredible and there's so much of it, in a really small, adorable space. I took about three cards and will bring any visitors back there. I love their concepts of layering and the inspiration for the designs is truly unique and right up my alley. I only wish I had the money to BUY it ALL!!!

My online research gave me hope that they might have a very specific earring, so on an out of state road trip, I routed through Santa Fe. They didn't have what I was looking for, but their inventory is a richly stunning collection of pieces you'll not find anywhere else. If you are looking for that one treasured piece, you cannot go wrong here. Superior customer service

This place is world class! Amazing selection of incredibly high quality jewelry. If you are a connoisseur of precious metals and find gems, this place will be a treat. Sharon was so friendly and attentive, I felt very welcome and enjoyed our time together. This is one you can’t skip!

Beautiful pieces and for $4000, you actually get something worth it unlike the inflated native Jewelry at Wind River Trading Co. I was struggling with altitude sickness at the time or I would have spent more time looking at everything.

I purchased my engagement ring and wedding band a few weeks ago and I couldn't be more happy and excited. The engagement ring is beautiful, one of a kind and I have gotten so many compliments on it. The quality is amazing! I stop by the store every time I am in Santa Fe and I love visiting with the wonderful ladies in the shop. They are authentic, warm and make me feel welcomed and important. I love that I found the perfect men, the perfect ring and a beautiful story to go with it. The ladies at the Golden Eye were some of the most wonderful people I've ever encountered anywhere. They immediately felt like old friends and helped me pick out a gorgeous pendant to celebrate a special birthday. Do yourself a favor and stop into this adorable little shop, especially if you want your day to feel a little brighter. I'll definitely be coming back for a visit soon.

I think the jewelry in this little store is wonderful. I can only afford to add a piece or two each time I visit Santa Fe, but they are happy to keep a "wish list" on file for me. The jewelry is unique and beautiful. I never feel pressured to buy what I can't afford, but the women, there, are always helpful and attentive to my "likes" & "style" as well as my budget. If you like unique and quality jewelry, this is a "must visit" while in Santa Fe!

As you step down into this cool boutique, you'll be greeted by the soft glow of shimmering stones and glistening gold. The designs range from those inspired by the ancients (in Egypt, Greece, and Italy) to the most exquisite of contemporary artists (locals, nationals, and internationals). Whether classical or timelessly forward-looking, each piece of jewelry shows itself to be lovingly designed and meticulously executed. The women who work there take the time to teach customers about the stones, settings, and designers. In other words, there's no pressure to buy but plenty of incentives to enjoy the experience.

This little store has the most unique earrings, beautiful earring enhancements, quality stones. I highly recommend. The staff is so helpful and accommodating.

A Santa Fe treasure. High quality hand made jewelry in 18 and 24 carat, as well as sterling. And fantastic customer service. I have been a customer for 20 years and always look forward to my next visit.
