The Golden Frog Inn

One of the few hotels where the real thing is even more beautiful than the photos. Friendly staff, beautiful rooms (we were given connecting rooms 6 and 7 as a family without having to ask). The restaurant serves delicious food. We only stayed one night while traveling, but—especially if you enjoy hiking—I recommend staying longer.

This is a gorgeously landscaped small hotel. The room was pretty and had a private balcony with hammocks. We ate in the restaurant each night and enjoyed the ambiance and food. The staff was professional and helpful. ||If you like to walk, you could easily walk anywhere in town from the hotel. However, if you are taking the bus from Panama City call to ask where you should be dropped off. Our bus driver dropped us in town and suggested that we get a taxi, but that was easier said than done. I think we would have rather walked a mile with our backpacks than wait for a taxi!

My wife and I spent two nights at the Golden Frog. We absolutely loved our stay. The rooms were comfortable and peaceful, the restaurant was really good, and the staff were very friendly. ||The hotel is about 10 minutes away from the local town, which has restaurants. The area was beautiful, they also had resident two dogs and cats, lots of wildlife, and hiking all around. We highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful stay at Golden Frog Inn I loved my stay here. The location is perfect, the service was excellent, and the rooms were very comfortable. The hotel is beautiful and surrounded by nature — a truly relaxing and charming place. Highly recommended!

This place is amazing. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, the setting is beautiful and the service is amazing. The food is really good too. We would go back in a heartbeat. I would highly recommend for families or couples. Go visit the frog exhibit that is within walking distance. Amazing.

The hotel is located in a pretty setting in the hills of El Valle. From the moment we stepped into the reception area, we were greeted warmly welcomed to the property. We were helped to our second floor room and immediately consumed by the view from our spacious balcony. The room was large and clean, with a large sitting area, the balcony overlooking the pool and the valley, and a good sized bathroom. ||Dinner at the onsite restaurant (Panamanian-Mexican fusion) was tasty and convenient. With the windows and balcony doors open at night, we were very nearly cold due to the strong breezes (a welcome break from the Panamanian heat). The hotel staff were always helpful, including preparing boxed breakfasts for our early birding departures each morning. ||Our itinerary only had us at the hotel for two nights, but we would certainly return for a longer stay just to enjoy this beautiful hotel.

The hotel is well located to visit El Valle de Anton, our room was clean and large, the garden is an absolute paradise. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was good, large quantities! We enjoyed the happy hour on cocktails and a complimentary drink which was a nice gesture.

The Golden Frog was a great stay for us. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the food in the restaurant was tasty, and the staff attentive and helpful. The hotel is a ways from town, but the taxis are inexpensive, and the staff was great about sending for one when we needed it. The rooms were well appointed, the AC worked well, and the included refrigerator was helpful for keeping drinks and snacks. Even though Valle is a fairly expensive place, the hotel felt like a good value.
