The Good Bar Mooloolaba

Went for Sunday lunch to use my Entertainment Book but unfortunately they refused to honour the discount - which was a bit annoying to be honest. But we stayed and had lunch - the food was great. Love that you can choose to have iceberg lettuce instead of a bun. Wine list not the greatest but their gin selection is amazing!

Burger restaurant cross night club. Marketing themselves as a high end gourmet burger bar with pricing that reflects that. First impressions were great, staff were super friendly and had a really good chat with us. The burgers we got were ok. The beef burger while having 3 sauces got totally overpowered by the huge amount of mustard. It turned into a mustard mess and I found it difficult to taste anything else. My mates chicken burger tasted good but the pulled chicken was very dry and didn't have much sauce to help cover it up. My loaded shake looked awesome but was pretty pricey considering it was a regular milkshake with some cookies on top and a few chocolates stuck to it. While the food was only 3/5 the great staff and the venue itself was great so bumped it up to 4/5. Bit more love shown to the burger craft and this place would be a 5/5.

Attended during the week to take advantage of the cheap Wednesday bucket 🪣 of chicken wings and we were not left disappointed. Hardly any gluten free options which was a shame but it is a traditional burger joint so... Food came out pretty quickly and a nice selection of cocktails were on the menu. Staff were really nice and engaging. Will be going back to sample the rest of the menu at some point hopefully with more GF options.

2022 update. Oh boy, what a difference a couple of years makes! We've been to good bar every time we've been to Mooloolaba beach but this time around what a disappointment. Not sure if it's different management or staff but we are unlikely to return. Came here with the family on a Tuesday without realising it was trivia night. Several of the tables and booths had reserved signs on them, which was fair enough. We made sure to choose a booth that had no sign on it, sat down ordered a couple of drinks and were looking forward to dinner and trivia. 20 minutes later a staff member came up and told us we'd have to move as a booking they had was updated after the fact to include a 3rd booth which, surprise, surprise was ours... And to top it off we were to be moved to the opportunists side of the restaurant. I questioned why we were being moved to other side of the restaurant and were told that she didn't know why there was no reserved sign but she was adamant it was placed...i doubt it. Our alternative location for 4 people was either crammed into a small alcove or outside in the cold... After explaining this want reasonable she advised is that she'd speak to her manager and get back to us...we waited, and waited, guess what?, nothing happened so we walked away disappointed. What a shame that things have gone downhill in terms of service. We won't be returning.

Good value for money. Had the German sausage came with chips and coleslaw. My partner had chicken wings and a side coleslaw. Very yummy. Didn't have any vegan or gf on the menu but was available if you ask the waitresses. Staff fairly friendly and the place tidy with very good restrooms.

Hit this place once a month on Thursday for the 2 for 1 special. These burgers are out of this world. I’ve tried almost all of them and can honestly say these guys should be locked up because it should be illegal for food to taste this good. The monthly special burgers are always mind blowing. Obviously laced with drugs as I’ve become a Good Bar addict.

Jalapeno poppers were excellent. Both our burgers were a bit dry and looked better than they tasted. Not bad but not great. The menu had some nice sounding options but there are better options locally for a burger, especially for the price.

Had the Yankee Pig & Hot Chicken Sandwich with a side of fries. Both were great in flavour, chips were hot, crunchy and fresh cooked. Both were a tad messy and my only recommendation would be maybe slice the chicken a bit thinner to make it easier to handle without falling apart. Will definitely be coming back and this place is great for hangovers.

We were in Mooloolaba for a long weekend and managed to hit good bar twice; once for breakfast and once for dinner. We tried to go for dinner on our first night but it was packed out and most people had a reservation. Made a note to reserve, and it was worth it. For breakfast I had the bacon and waffles, and they were great. Excellent waffles, crisp but soft and fluffy and served with maple butter and maple syrup. A couple of days later we went back for dinner and I got wings, the larger size, with ranch. I couldn't eat all of them, massive serving. Hubby got the chicken and waffles, chicken was crisp but the batter/seasoning needed more flavour. We were able to take our leftovers away and they were great the next day too. Would definitely recommend for breakfast, and probably for dinner too, if you book ahead and choose wisely on the menu.

Great food and atmosphere. Chill vibes with live music at times. Lots of food options and tapas if not overly hungry. Highly recommended!

Great food! Wow amazing! Staff are great and attentive. Went to this hidden backstreet restaurant on a wed for lunch and it was fantastic. We ordered a few starters to share jalapeño poppers, chicken popcorn, mozzarella sticks and some mains being the dozen chicken wings and a beef nachos. All food was amazing and so delicious. The sauce with the wings and mozzarella sticks was Yum! Highly recommend coming with the family or a couple. Spiced ginger beer on tap was also amazing.

Went here for lunch during a week day and got one of the hotdogs, and it was honestly amazing. The staff were friendly, and the service was fast and efficient. Would deffinatly recommend. Would love to go back and try some of the cocktails I saw.

Okay so I was here a Sunday night, which for a night scene doesn't go crazy, however this place was just what I needed. The way to my heart is a good selection of beer (and not the VB, Peroni, XXXX crap - I mean micro Aussie breweries)! So this place had a Double IPA on tap (Pirate Life) and Man this has gotta be one of the best I've had in Australia! Oh and for some reason it was only $5 a schooner! Too good to be true, shame there aren't more places like this down in Brisbane!!

This place is very good compared to a lot of the shop fillers along the esplanade. I very much like how it's in the heart of Mooloolaba but the actual location is like a hidden laneway establishment, gives it a bit of vibe of being a secret place for only those in the know. Mostly go here for the wings and for the Green Beacon in stock - I'm yet to see Green Beacon regularly stocked anywhere else on the Sunshine Coast which is a shame as it's currently my favourite brewery. Most times I leave here regretting eating too much as the intention is usually to have a small bite, but the first dish ordered (whether poutine, wings, fried pickles or burgers) is always so moreish you inevitably eat more. The wings are like a hybrid of Asian and American cuisine - they are in an amazing crispy, tempura like batter but with a distinct American wings taste. Unfortunately the wings have been a bit hit miss, sometimes great, other times only passable, always edible though. This place can get very busy and rowdy at times (usually weekends but some weeknights) so maybe those nights are best left for a small bite and more drinking. I've found I definitely prefer the quiet times here to indulge in a feast accompanied by some beer as the drinking crowd is a bit young for me (I swore I'd never be that grumpy old man lol, *shakes fist at cloud). Lost 1 star for the absolutely awful host of the trivia there one night. Couldn't stand the guy and had I known that trivia was on and we would be required to dine in silence as not to interrupt his endless self aggrandisement we would gone elsewhere.

Pretty standard bar. Food was standard burger fare and average beer list if a little pricey. Does everything to an ok level but nothing blows you away.
