Decent food and so excited to see a few gluten free options on the menu. The waitress knew immediately what could/couldn't be gluten free and Celiac safe. She mentioned that the hash browns and French fries are in a dedicated fryer (which is amazing) and that the omelettes are cooked separately from the pancakes on the grill. Super excited to have more local celiac friendly options!

First time visiting the good life must say I was very impressed with the decor for sure our server straight out of the work release program from jail no, just kidding. She was wearing her beeper on her ankle so we were joking with her that she just came out of prison … the food was delicious. The portions were ridiculously large other than it being a little loud I couldn’t believe at 5 o’clock, how busy it was definitely will return back for the macaroni and cheese tonight I had a turkey burger and my friend had the chicken pot pie and thought it was fabulous. Definitely try it out

The Good Life is a very aesthetic and cozy! I ordered the cheese burger with tater tots and it was very good! The presentation was nice and it was very tasty and filling! My girlfriend ordered the turkey burger which was also amazing! The staff was very friendly and quick with the service, and the vibe and atmosphere was very relaxing! I will be back here for sure

The food here for breakfast was delicious, just as delicious as at the previous location (Jam). The food was flavorful and being able to have brunch cocktails enhanced the experience.

Our favorite brunch place of ten years closed down and we went hunting to find another one. My husband came across The Good Life online, so we decided to try it. William D. was our server and he was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable about the food and checked on us throughout the meal to ensure we had everything we needed. Our food was delicious and cooked to order. The portions were large, and the quality of the food was very good. The atmosphere was pleasant. I think it's safe to say, we have found our new favorite brunch place.

Just came back and The Good Life is just as good as ever. Staff is just as welcoming as they were and the menu is just as great. When a friend of mine came to visit parents in the area I knew this was the place to meet. I wasn't too hungry, so we shared and snacked on two appetizers. First was my favorite, the chicken cordon bleu balls. They were just as delicious as they've always been. A first was the everything pretzel which came with mustard and a cheddar cheese dip. Did not disappoint, but this spot never does. Another update from the biz is they are consolidating with their sister restaurant, Jam, so they will be serving up the brunch menu earlier during the day. Happy we aren't completely losing Jam because it was my favorite Brunch menu on the Island. Finally, they always have a revolving line up of awesome beers on tap and I think I found my new favorite. Nine Pin Blueberry Peach Cobbler. The most refreshing beer I have ever had. Let's be real, they had me at blueberry. Have to make it a point to not let too much time pass before coming back to the Good Life.

This was my first time visiting here with my friends and we had a great time! We got seated right away and I thought the menu was a cute with the newspaper vibe! For appetizers we got buffalo cauliflower app and spinach and artichoke dip. Both were a 10/10 for me, we fully ate both plates and agreed we'd get them again. After the apps, I wasn't too hungry so i chose the Spaghetti squash. It's a unique dish I don't see at other places as much but it was great! I was able to finish the full thing and loved the pesto sauce. Our server was super nice and was always checking in on us and gave us time to decide what we wanted. Overall this is a chill spot i'd 100% come back to!

Excellent lunch today! Still 5 star! The chicken pot pie was delicious, although I wish it had a pie crust. The crispy cauliflower was perfect. The service was excellent - Thank you Taylor! And of course - The Good Life Pilsner is still awesome tasting!! A great local choice!

Went here for a date night with my gf and this place was really good! The atmosphere was very inviting and clean. The service was very fast. I ordered a regular cheeseburger mid rare, which was perfect! My gf ordered the turkey burger which she loved, and the tater tots were very good! The presentation was very nice and prices were affordable! Will definitely be coming here again

Stumbled upon this restaurant looking for a brunch spot!! They have brunch from 12-3 with the best strawberry French toast paired perfectly with a mimosa! The Good Life is pub vibes, great craft beer selection, and the food is way better than your average bar fare. We had the crispy cauliflower, fish & chips, and potato coins everything was delish. Friendly staff, chill crowd, and perfect for a casual night out. Definitely coming back for the pulled pork mac & cheese next time!

More like the Great Life! It was the saving grace for us the other night after a bunch of attempts at other bars on the block. You'll see from my previous review 6 years ago that I was coming here regularly for food (decent vegan options... nothing earth-shatteringly amazing but solid). During holiday week, this area of Massapequa is really busy, as it's quite festive with its plethora of holiday lights and tiny decorative houses lining the streets that each contain a Christmas scene. We wanted a place where the three of us could hold a conversation without loud and questionable music. We landed here and they were so nice, the bar was full but they were fine with us sitting at a table even though we weren't ordering dinner (pretty cool that they serve food so late!) They had a seasonal sangria with cider and cinnamon (you can order it red or white) and I couldn't resist. It's so good that I ordered 2. There's such a friendly vibe here and even with the goal of trying new places, I find myself returning quite often.

Went here on a weekend with some friends. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was attentive. My burger was cooked to perfection. The crunch salty bacon, creamy brie ams sweet apricots were a great mix. This place has some of the beat burgers I've tasted in this area. Would definitely come back to try different toppings. The interior of the restaurant was big and there's a good outdoor space as well.

Pretty good vibes at the heart of Massapequa. The service is phenomenal and friendly!! I was happy to see the resturant filled with friends catching up and enjoying each other's company over some light bites. I ordered for pick up. The Philly cheesesteak was pretty good and the tater tots that came with it were freshly fried. I would say the Philly cheesesteak has potential to be even better, perhaps making it more cheesy. The Mac and cheese was quite good however the top could have been baked a little more brown. And last but not least, the fried pickles! Probably the best fried pickles I ever had & I don't even like pickles.

The server was very attentive, we were seated right away, and everything on the menu sounded amazing! I couldn't decide what to get. The sweet potato tots are worth the up charge. Yum! The food itself was alright. The bread wasn't great so I took it off. But I would definitely come back.

There's a reason this place was mostly empty brunch. The Eggs Benedict was pretty bad, it tasted almost vinegary, not smooth and creamy. Side of bacon: $5 for 3 slices of well done, dry bacon that was clearly made in advance and then heated up (educated guess) Coffee was luke warm. Pancakes were not good. Scrambled eggs were decent. Service was friendly but missed obvious problems, and never came back to check on how the food was. I've eaten dinner here before and it was good, but I'll never go back for breakfast. $70 for 3 people. No booze. High prices are only acceptable if the food measures up, and it didn't. I would have spoken to a manager but didn't wanna embasss my guests.

The Good Life truly is one of the best pub like restaurants on Long Island. My boyfriend and I stopped in for a late dinner and we're stuffed! My boyfriend had a blacked shrimp pesto dish that he really liked. I had their spinach and artichoke mac and cheese. As everyone knows, their creamy mac and cheese dishes are second to none! Also, I love that the atmosphere has relics from the past.

Took 35 minutes for scrambled eggs. Were they growing the chickens who laid the eggs? Absolutely butchered the Jam breakfast menu. They brought out a dry "salad", and charged additional for dressing. Save your money, you can get a better experience at a Dennys.

A nice "pub" this is a place for a few pints and a quick bite. The staff was very nice, the eating areas were ok. Drinks were good, a nice selection of beers and cocktails. The aps we had no bone wings. Very taste, i have the Jamaican rub, it was out of this world, i have the fish and chips, but was able to get chips vs fries. Both ver tasty and a great side sauce. My wife had the chicken pot pie that was actually a chicken shepherd pie. No crust, just mashed P on top. The meal was food just wanting some flakey crust.

Our whole family loves the good life. The food is fresh and delicious. Kids love going and especially getting the peanut butter pie for dessert. What a treasure to have in our neighborhood

The menu is fun and a bit different from what you'd expect at a bar. Of course it has all of the traditional bar food, but it also has cripsy cauliflower, potato coins and tater tot poutine! We started out with the potato coins and crispy cauliflower, and both were delicious. My husband isn't into cauliflower so I had that all to myself and I chose the thai sweet chili sauce as per the waitresses recommendation. It wasn't super crispy but it was still very delicious. The potato coins were house made potato chips drenched in cheese sauce and we were living our best life eating it. Highly recommend the potato coins appetizer. You can also add meat to that as well. My husband got boneless buffalo wings and said they were some of the best he has had and a huge portion. I got a burger that was made EXACTLY how I like it and was SO delicious. Needless to say we will absolutely be back soon. This place is also REALLY cute and clean inside. All of the employees are super nice and Heather behind the bar is just the best.

The food & service were excellent. The ambiance is very nice more of bar type. The menu is very extensive with many choices for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Always have fun here noisy loud crowded, but fun surprisingly fast service even on a really busy night. The Winston bowl was really good sitting outside in the summer on the boulevard. Can't be beat to people watch great beers

Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon large group of 11. It took a bit to be seated but that's to be understood. Our waitress, Sam, was amazing. She remembered everything and was just welcoming and accommodating. Their menu is extensive and we were all pleased with our food. I would def recommend and be back.

The bride's bday, y'day. We usually go to a high end restaurant but she wanted to do something casual and wanted to bring the boy and his girl. Heard good things about this place so we decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed. Ambience was perfect, pub casual. Our server was spot on and what a menu! From the casual to the sublime! And a rather extensive drink menu and a large selection of craft draught beers. Appetizers were on point and the meals were off the chain and well presented. If we did not have a giant bday cake waiting at home, we would have to sample the afters. All in all, a great place, great food and service and a definite "go back." Cheers!

Just came here for lunch. It is a neighborhood place with a nice pub vibe. The menu is extensive but we settled on sandwiches and a burger. i was tempted to try an app but i was trying to be good lol. The sandwiches were big and the tots were fresh not greasy. I enjoyed the honey mustard my tots came with. Our server Taylor was so pleasant but really so were all of the staff. I will have to return to try some of the other options on the menu.

I decided to come visit this restaurant again and I keep saying how fantastic the food here is and how I highly recommend it. This is the second time I visited this place and this time I ordered the Fish Butty Sandwich with regular fries. It was a battered cod sandwich with lettuce and tomato served with tartar sauce and malt vinegar on the side. HOLY COW! This was absolutely delicious! This was best battered cod I've ever had, the cod pieces were a decent size (2 large pieces) and the cod was tender and the breading was so crunchy and tasty. The biggest highlight of this sandwich was that it was not at all greasy or oily and it was so fresh! The tartar sauce was nice and light and flavorful with the flavor of the cod. It came with a little basket of fries, they were also very good as well. I jumped into the food before the beverage I ordered but oh well. I ordered to drink the Blinding Melon which had vodka, watermelon liquor and club soda which had a slice of watermelon as a garnish. This was good but my only thing was, it was so so strong on the vodka as opposed to the watermelon liquor. The main highlight here was the food. The waiter was very nice and attentive and gave a lot of recommendations from the specials menu as well as their beer menu that was on the wall. (You can ask for a paper menu of the beer) Overall I was very happy again with my second experience here! Give this place a try!! You won't be disappointed.

Solid! My wife had a baby shower just down the block, so I had some time to head here for a drink and a bite. I sat at the bar and the bar tender was very friendly and helpful. They have plenty of beers on tap to choose from. A very good selection of food as well. I opted for the post stickers which were really good. The area filled up later that afternoon and was a good crowd. I was able to spend some time here without being rushed. Great spot to check out if you are in the area!

Wanted to try Philly cheesesteak sandwich and for the price of over $18. You would think that would be a good amount of steak on there. I would compare the amount to be less than a cheesesteak from Wawa for eight dollars. also did the pulled pork mac & cheese that was a decent portion and also very good.

I'm really in a quandry as to what to do. I don't want to badmouth this place, but I have to be honest at the same time. On a recent visit to LI to visit family, we not only ordered takeout from The Good Life, but we ordered from them TWICE. The first time we ordered, I got a Caesar salad, which I couldn't enjoy because whoever packed the "to-go" bag, stupidly put my cold salad in with all the hot items being ordered... so by the time the salad got home, it was warm and soggy. To make matters worse, they put the salad dressing on at the restaurant, so I'm sure that added to the soggy factor. However, my daughter also got 1 order of their chicken wings drenched in tikka masala sauce, and those were so unbelievably good. I think I ate most of them. I couldn't get enough; they were THAT good. Because I was in love with those wings, we ordered takeout from them one more time in my visit, and the second time, I ordered the tikka masala wings for myself, and I ordered another salad... SPECIFICALLY ASKING TO HAVE THE DRESSING ON THE SIDE AND THE ENTIRE SALAD BAGGED SEPARATELY. Oh my, it was as if someone purposely avoided any and all instructions. The salad had dressing on it AGAIN, and the salad was put on top of all the hot food items AGAIN. It was even soggier this time. I couldn't even eat it... and if you saw how little lettuce they put in, you'd be PISSED just as I was. But it gets worse. I was all set to dig into those delectable wings when I looked at them and asked my daughter, "shouldn't there be sauce on them?" I moved the wings around to see if maybe the sauce got buried, but no, there was like a droplet on the bottom of the aluminum tin, but nothing on any of the wings. I mean NOTHING. Further, the wings were barely cooked through, they were too dry to eat, absolutely ZERO flavor, and I can assure you, nothing at all remotely tasting like those chicken tikka masala wings I had a few weeks earlier. I was devastated like you wouldn't believe. Yeah, looking forward to a particular food item, and then it doesn't work out, I can get depressed over things like that. I know what happened to the salad..... they clearly don't listen to orders or care. As for the wings, I know they care about those, but what the heck happened to mine on that one day? That was crazy bad. Now I'm back home, so it'll be a long while before I return.... but when I do, you can be sure I won't forget this recent unfortunate event, and I will go there myself (which I didn't do either of these times). I will definitely inspect the bag of to-go items before leaving the restaurant and make them re-do anything to my disliking. I don't want to be upset about this AGAIN, and I want to be able to return my Yelp rating to its former good marks, and most importantly, I want to enjoy some of those chicken tikka masala wings. The stuff dreams are made of.

I've been here twice so far and the food is great. The portions are big so you have to bring your appetite. I went with my dads girlfriend and we were not disappointed. I've been there before and always like their food. The drinks are great as well. This is a great place for friends and family.

There is nothing good about this place. I'd like to meet someone who actually enjoys this food so I can study the intricacies of their palate and understand how and why anyone could stomach this food. Against my better judgment, we ordered from The Good Life. We chose the pretzel, tot poutine, keen-wah salad, and philly cheesesteak. The pretzel was literally just a soggy small-sized loaf of bread. Weird, but I'll let it pass. The tot poutine was covered.in.oil! And not the typical "this meal is unhealthy" grease that I was expecting. You could literally spoon out the oil from under the dish. It was inedible. The keen-wah salad was very warm. Is it supposed to be? Since it's mixed with greens, feta and salad dressing, shouldn't it have been cooled before putting the dish together? I'm old, so maybe hot salads are all the rage these days. If so, I'm out of the loop, and out of yet another edible meal. The cheesesteak was cold and not at all tasty. If this was an isolated assault, I wouldn't be so harsh, but put together with the other offenses and a cold dish is just the cherry on top. I'm writing this review to remind myself NEVER to order from The Good Life again. I highly do not recommend this place and suggest taking the word "good" from their name

Been here a handful of times with friends. This is a local spot that can get busy. The establishment has a very cute entrance like entering a UK telephone booth. There is the hostess in front to seat you in their seated section, or you can chose to go to the left where the bar is. Their bar has a rotating beer and cider selection throughout the year. They do allow you to taste some beers before buying a glass as long as the beer being asked to taste isn't a higher alcohol percentage. Their menu is a mixture of British and American fare, from burgers to snack bar foods to Shepards pie. There is a little something. For everyone. The mashed potato wontons are always a favorite and the everything pretzel. Definitely a great place to hang out with friends and chill or for a very casual date night.

Food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. We sat in their outdoor seating area and loved the ambiance there. It was an overall great experience.

I had eaten at The Good Life many times in the past. What I remembered about it was that there were almost too many options; one of those places at which the chef wanted to accommodate the desires of anyone and everyone. Tonight, I returned with my wife for the first time. First off, we both love onion rings and I fully expected to find good ones here; not to be, they don't make them. That said, I believe the book that is their menu seemed a lot more concise. They still have a huge amount of beer on tap, if you like that kind of thing. But let me tell you, I know my wife likes pork and she did not want a sandwich, burger, nor fish. So I noticed the last entree on the list, the Parmesan crusted pork Schnitzel. I know that's a crazy option anywhere, least of all this Irish American pub. But let me tell you, combined with my Shrimp Po' Boy sandwich and a little Caesar salad, this was one of the best meals we have had. I mean wow! I don't often LOVE Brussels sprouts, but these were the best I've ever tasted. The schnitzel with a yummy gravy was moist and delicious. What a winner; I could not wait to tell you all about this meal. And check out the photo of these deliciousness.

We got take out. I'm fine with high prices at a restaurant if it's worth it...but, HOW in the world is this $9 and supposed to be a full kids meal? This is maybe the size of a side, and should be $4.99. What a rip off.

We go to the Good Life a lot. I noticed it has been going downhill for a while. Went there tonight. My wife ordered skirt steak medium with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Meat was tough, potatoes were cold and Brussel sprouts looked old. All of the leaves were coming off. I ordered fried chicken with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Potatoes and Brussel sprouts were cold. Chicken was hot but there were only two small very thin pieces of chicken. It used to be 3 thick pieces. Waitress was invisible. There were only 3 tables with people in the top section of the restaurant. She took our drink order then disappeared for 10 mins. Then took our food order and disappeared for 20 mins. Another waitress brought our food. Our waitress was no where to be found. We would have complained about the food but she was no where in sight. She came over well after we were done and didn't even ask if everything was ok just if she could take the plates. We told her about the food and she said oh sorry and left and came back with our bill. Wong be coming be coming back anytime soon

Something different today. The family and I came to after our halloween / fall afternoon at the local park. Cant believe I've never been before. Ironic thing, when I was born my parents had a house on fitzmaurice only minutes away. As we were seated immediately noticed that all crowds were here..singles, friend groups, family with kids, elderly, couples.. it all just blends in here! I also noticed the staff & service are very on top of the conditions and organization. Very clean, very organized. F*&$% GREAT service here! Large alcoholic beverage menu too! Big screens on the high walls with ***NO sound ( big plus ) and on top of that, was not loud at all. You would think will all of that it would be impossible to hear or converse without yelling..NOT HERE! I was more in a bar food/ picking mood, but it was all great ( shrimp and fries wings ) ! My lady's only complaint was she wasnt a fan of the type of bread used for her patty melt( was a buttery toast not a bun) . Little man devoured his chicken fingers and fries. I'll be back soon ..might even become a regular....15 out of 10 stars recommendation. Now head over or make plans this week to try!

It's funny seeing my review from over 10 years ago the buns sucked but the burgers were excellent in 2014. Now in 2025, three tries and three bad burgers. But the buns were actually excellent. The cook doesn't know how to cook a burger. 1st one was way overloaded with salt to the point the fondue was inedible. The 2nd time going the cheese on my burger was literally cold. Like it just came out of the fridge and was thrown on. It wasn't melted at all. How do you serve someone a burger like that?? Crazy. Then they remade that burger with the cold hard cheese and this time is way overcooked. So they don't know how to melt cheese on a burger without making it medium well. Got it. 3 chances, 3 fails and that's a wrap for me. I didn't even ask for it to be comped. Hopefully my son eats it for lunch tomorrow. And to add insult the waitress was lazy and she charged for kids refill drinks. It cost $9 for 1 apple juice + refill. The only thing I thought was decent was the spinach dip. Never going back again.

Always wanted to go here! Love that the door is a phone booth and the menus are newspapers. Wanted to get together with a friend before the holidays. Decided to come here! We started with some beers of course! They still have pumpkin beer on tap...for those of you that actually read my reviews or follow my feed...you know I'm all about pumpkin beer. We shared fried mac and cheese to start. The appetizer included 4 "blocks" of fried mac and cheese. It was delicious. I mean...it's fried...and it's cheesy....comfort food at its best! For my entree I ordered lager fried shrimp. It came with Cajun fries. I was a little disappointed with the size of the shrimp. However, the flavors made up for it. The lager batter was nice and crisp and the Cajun fries had great seasoning. My friend ordered chicken pot pie. She enjoyed it. Covid procedures in full effect. Masks and gloves worn by staff and plastic-type table dividers in-between tables. 90 minute table limit. Menu has a ton of options! Even some vegan and vegetarian options. Something for everyone. Service was great. Our waitress gave us time to look over the menu and didn't rush us between our appetizer and entree.

I really wasn't impressed, I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, thinking it would be like your normal Philly cheesesteak with like the meat and you'll be able to see cheese and sautéed onions but it turns out it's just like a meat mush with like unrecognizable things mixed in kind of sad for a Philly cheesesteak for $16

I ordered the mashed potatoes wontons and what I got was a blob of mash potatoes with cheese. How is that a wonton ? Disaster

Good service and prices were reasonable. My burger could have used a little more seasoning, but the potstickers were good as was my daughter's meal and drink. Good atmosphere. Actually, we went about 4:30 and had the place to ourselves.
