"Although it's only been open since 2014, this Queen West restaurant has already earned a fiercely loyal following for its refined, yet approachable, takes on Italian classics. The entryway is set up like a pantry, of sorts, with rows of big bottles of olive oil (available for purchase) lining the shelves. The dining room is no less decorated, with wall clocks, antique books, and vintage photos. The menu features a perfect antipasto plate, an al dente bucatini all'amatriciana, charred thin-crust pizzas from the wood-fire oven, and a grilled octopus for two. We came here one night as my sister and brother-in-law wanted to treat us. They had been here before and recommended coming here. We had a pretty good table. It was a booth on the side so there was plenty of room for the five of us. The server was extremely friendly and offered to change a holiday drink that wasn’t very tasty. The food came out quickly and was very delicious. My 7 year old daughter ate pretty much all of her pizza. Overall, we could come back again.

Restaurant with great personality, very aesthetic and spacious, when it is not busy (Friday and Saturday night). It has a great variety of dishes, but unfortunately that day they only served pizzas, so we couldn't try different dishes on the menu, despite that we will return. The pizzas where good!

I was so incredibly impressed with our service at this location. Our waitress, who I unfortunately do not remember the name of, was impeccable. I had not received service like that since pre pandemic times. Admittedly, the service industry has tanked since 2020 and it is extremely rare to get proper waitstaff service anywhere... not rare here! They were constantly on top of filling our water without us asking, not once did we need to touch our wine bottle as our waitress was attentive in filling our glasses. They served the food and cutlery appropriately and the food was delicious. 5 stars all around. We will be returning!

There are fancier and more creative restaurants in the vicinity, but for delicious elevated pub fare, The Good Son is always a reliable option, and it's a particularly great spot if you're going with a large group.

Great date night place! The mushroom papardelle was my favorite dish alongside the steak tartare. The mushroom pasta was so flavorful and pasta was cooked perfectly! We also ordered a pizza which was huge. It had fantastic charred crust! The atmosphere was interesting too like dining in an 1800s mansion. Pay attention to the decor if you ever eat there!
