Great place to watch sports. We sat at the bar and it was a little busy but all the staff were really nice. The bang shrimp were huge and very good. Hubby got the chicken fried chicken and it was really good too. The gravy had great flavor. I got the salmon croquette and that thing was huge! They make them how my granny used to make them, with potatoes inside. Very good! Will definitely visit again.

It was my first time at The Goose. The place was very nice, our server was excellent (go Morgan!), our food came out right on time, but it was mostly "meh." I had a side house salad with balsamic vinegarette...it was the best part of my meal. My friend wanted some kind of spicy shrimp appetizer, and even though I'm not into spicy stuff, it was really good. The spicy sauce had great flavor and the shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked. The main dishes weren't so good. He ordered a BLT with a fried green tomato, and I had the salmon croquette...we split everything. You really couldn't taste the fried green tomato. And the bacon was pretty dry. His side of mac and cheese was generic. The salmon croquette looked amazing, but it was mostly bland straight-out-the-can salmon on the inside. I saw raw onions and one piece of a red bell pepper. The dill sauce was tasteless. The cheese grits were creamy and cheesy though. I would definitely go back for the salad and the service, and I really want to try the meatloaf.

Our first time at Goose Eatery. The food was amazing! They have a good variety of options to choose from. We ordered the chicken fried steak off the breakfast menu and the salmon spinach salad from the lunch menu. I would highly recommend trying the cheese grits, skillet cornbread with butter and honey, and mac and cheese. For desert, we ordered a slice of the Reese's pie which was delicious. Overall, the food was 5 out 5, service was great and attentive, and the establishment was well kept. We would definitely come back!

Recent first time visit here, the service was good, food even better. I went for the meatloaf & fried green tomatoes, while hubby (who has ties to the area) went for the fried chicken, and I tried moms gizzards… The meatloaf was so flavorful and the portion size was shareable. Everything was cooked to perfection. This is now on my “must eat at” list when I’m back in the area.

The gods were smiling down on us today. A random Google search of "fried chicken and Mac n cheese near me" led us to this little haven to which I am anxious to return back to. Our waitress was so warm, welcoming and attentive to our dining needs. We admired our neighbors MASSIVE, CRUNCHY looking blooming onion and we knew we were in for a fabulous experience. I asked the waitress to please tell the chef this is what Cracker Barrel THINKS it is and aspires to be. The chicken was so big, juicy and fresh. The gravy was perfection. The Mac n cheese was so creamy. And the crunch on the fried green tomatoes could be heard from Mars! The tomatoes weren't cut paper thin either - they were truly the best I've ever had. I felt my eyes light up, my whole existence burst at the first bite. Then came dessert. Chocolate upon chocolate upon chocolate - yes, ma'am! I ordered the lady in blue because I am a sucker for anything with blue curacao in it and it happens to be my favorite color. It was good. It could've been pushed to perfection if it had a slice of lemon on top. For 2 meals, extra sides, 2 sodas, an alcoholic beverage and a dessert it was $51 and some change. I was so happy to dig into my left overs too for dinner. It's been too long since I had really good food. Thank you to the chefs on 2/21/26 around 12pm!! 👨‍🍳 💋

Casual eatery with great food. We had a large group and everyone was happy with their choices. Ranch was very good as well

This is a basic restaurant with small tables and booths. Staff is younger, the we're fast and friendly but I rarely saw my server. They we busy for a weekday but not crazy. And you pay on your phone with a QR code. It's great if you just want your food and to be left alone but it's noisy in there. It has a few tvs but no captions.

Visited for the first time this evening with my family. I was very skeptical at first, mainly because I didn’t trust one of my family members taste buds BUT everything was great! We started out with the buffalo chicken livers and they were perfect! Fried and seasoned just right, crispy, and the buffalo sauce was good! I had the frisco burger (trying to be safe) and it was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals. I want to go back again for the chicken livers and something different. If you’ve never visited before GO! I’m sure you will enjoy it!

Second time there and it was great again!! my wife ordered the cornbread and really liked it. I got the side salad and it was great with their homemade dressing. I love their fried green tomatoes. I ordered the fried four piece chicken dinner. they let you pick what pieces you like so I got two breasts and two wings. their chicken was great and crispy and not greasy. we enjoyed the macaroni and cheese and coleslaw. our waiter, Adam, did a great job. we made reservations for Easter brunch buffet.

Came on a Friday evening and it was busy but there were plenty of open tables. Service seemed kind of slow but the staff seemed busy. Running around trying to clean tables, bring out plates, check on customers. I ordered a sweet tea right away. It came with a free refill. The first one was watered down but the second glass tasted a lot better. Smooth and refreshing. Not too sweet either. I'd order again! We ordered some apps to try: fried green tomatoes and BBQ chicken wings. Delicious! And bigger portions than we thought! We finished the tomatoes but had to take home the wings. For my entree, I got chicken fried chicken. Food comes with 2 sides. I tried the Caesar salad and Mac and cheese. The Caesar was good. Pretty big for it being a side salad! The Mac and cheese was okay. Kinda lacking in flavor. I like it cheesy with a bit of a crust on top from being in the oven. This just wasn't that. The chicken was good but large! Not bad. Usually it's pounded thin. Still good though! My family got: chicken tenders with fries and green beans, 2 piece dark with mashed potatoes and green beans, and grilled chicken with fries and mixed vegetables. Portion sizes weren't bad. Again, it's a lot of food! You really don't need to get apps unless you're super hungry. They have a lot of TVs in every angle so you can catch ESPN. We didn't stay too long to catch any games. Overall, I like it here! It's a good spot to find southern cooking.

Tonight my husband and I stopped in for dinner. I ordered the large chef salad with ranch and added shrimp -- it was delicious and really hit the spot. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. My husband went with the jalapeño burger (not pictured), and he really enjoyed it too. Our waitress was young and seemed pretty new, so she wasn't totally familiar with the menu yet, but she was sweet, attentive, and clearly doing her best -- which goes a long way in my book. Overall, The Goose remains one of those dependable neighborhood gems -- tasty food, friendly service, and a welcoming vibe. We'll definitely be back!

Stopped in today for a late lunch. Seated right away. The honey chicken salad sandwich never disappoints. Friendly, attentive service from Bryan M, who was very engaging. Finished our lunch with a slice of Reese's peanut butter pie which did not disappoint!!

This place was super busy for a weeknight! So that's always a good sign! Despite being busy, the food came out super quick! I loved the fried green tomatoes with comeback sauce. The classic hot brown was also delicious. The portions are HUGE. Definitely didn't need an appetizer beforehand, but the appetizer was worth it! The vegetarian hot brown, on the other hand, was not great. The fried mushroom that makes up the base of the hot brown got super soggy in the sauce, and it was a very random assortment of vegetables on top without much flavor. However, props for having a vegetarian hot brown option on the menu! Plenty of parking in a lot for the strip mall!

Our server was amazing! Very friendly and engaging. We had three generations and he related so well to all. Bryan was wonderful. We didn't find out until we were leaving that it was only his second day! He's a keeper for sure! Our food was delicious. We all fad something different and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Overall a pretty good place to eat. The mashed potatoes had an odd flavor so probably won't get them again but the fried green tomatoes were very good

Great $10 lunch pairings. We like the simple spinach salads & homemade soups! I did 1/2 a chicken salad sandwich and a salad but this time the chicken salad was bland vs flavorful. Still a good lunch pricepoint & atmosphere. Always friendly service.

Finally made it back for a visit after the move to the new location and shift in atmosphere. Still a quality spot. Lots of diner style, home style food options (I'm a sucker for a classic country fried steak, and they have a good one), plus some fun options (I am also a sucker for a hot brown, and they have some quality variants). The addition of the full bar is nice (old spot had beer and wine only as I recall), but it's a little inconsistent in cocktail quality and speed of bar service--by no means a deal-breaker, to be clear, and just get a nice bourbon or a beer if needed! Service is friendly and attentive, space is clean. All told, perfectly decent spot to grab a good meal, which is often exactly what I'm looking for!

Ordered take out over the phone with the wonderful Ms Marie who's such a gem! Thank you so much for assisting me and really taking care of me! Great thinking with the drinks with no carrier- it worked and as good as it could! The food was delicious as usual. But our absolute favorite is the chicken livers. My word. It was the first time ordering them and they are FIRE So good and they're actually seasoned. So so good! We also tried the fried green tomatoes which are also good- the creek sauce with them and a little franks hot sauce was really good! We got our usual salmon spinach salad and this time tried it with smoky tomato dressing- really good but we still love the balsamic dressing. Thanks again Ms Marie!!

Home style favorites can be found here! Fried green tomatoes, chicken fried chicken, fish, Liver and Onions, meatloaf .... So many home style delicious dishes. If you are craving home style cooking with great service this is the place! The staff is excellent. One of my favorite places and they have a very good happy hour!! I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was very good. The Hot brown was nice also. My husband liked the hot brown and also the fried fish.

The food was AMAZING! I ordered the salmon patties with mash potatoes and green beans. I had their sausage queso for my starter- great to dip my salmon patty into The interior is nicely decorated, very clean and I had an excellent server Bryan! And did I mention- a gluten free menu? An added bonus! Highly recommend and I will be back! Thank you!

We went to The Goose for birthday desserts after having dinner elsewhere for my husbands birthday celebration. The 4 of us shared a piece of coconut cream pie, a piece of decadant chocolate cake and a piece of carrot cake. All three desserts were excellent, the coconut cream pie was my favorite but others preferred the cake. So all were winners. Nice setting with a nice menu. Located in a strip mall so plenty of parking. They also have a full bar. Our server was friendly and efficient and made us fresh decafinated coffee wirh was a good tasty, not too strong cup of joe. We will go back for a full meal.

Food was good and service was good. Table was too small for four diners. We were holding bowls and plates.

A group met for our 1st time dinner at The Goose Eatery! The place is amazing, it's clean, welcoming staffed, fun decor, delicious food & cocktails. We enjoyed fried green tomatoes, country fried steak, shrimp n' grits, house salad & Reuben sandwich. Took a few pics so u can see the presentation of our dinner.

Great find for a Sunday brunch after hitting up Robinson Park. They offered a brunch menu or a dinner menu and we all went with the brunch except my husband got a club sandwich. They offer a kids menu, including kids crayons to keep them entertained. My kids loved the pancakes and bacon. The pancakes were delicious and they kept asking for more. I tried the sausage lovers biscuits and it was a lot of food but really good. My husband tried the sandwich and really enjoyed that and the fries kept ending up on my plate. I couldn't stop eating them. What a great find and if we're in the area again will definitely be back.

I had been wanting to try this place out for a while now, and I don't know what took me so long!! I went in for lunch on a Sunday and had chicken tenders with fries and mac and cheese, along with a sweet tea. Everything was so so good! It was a cute little restaurant that seemed to have a little bit of everything. Our server was friendly and the service was wonderful

The service is fast here. It's a cute little spot. The music selection was a nice lounge type of vibe. The chicken wings and fries were delicious and it has a nice portion size.

A great visit to the Goose with the family. The food is great and I've tried many of the items offered. The appetizers, salads and entrees are all excellent. The hit brown is a great choice. The meatballs and fried green tomatoes are something I get every time. If you want dessert several great options. The service has always been terrific with a fast, curious and helpful staff. It's a great decor with nice ambiance that's comfortable and spacious. Try the Goose!

The Goose is a great little restaurant with a neighborhood feel. I've been there several times and had good service, food, and a good time. That said, this past Sunday, early evening,, not so good. Our waitress, E, greeted me several times as "darlin" and "hon" although I am several decades older. I ordered Bourbon Lemon Drop - delicious! but served 15 minutes after my husband's beer, and just as the entree arrived. The broccoli slaw tasted great but I couldn't eat it because it and the bowl was lukewarm- Don't want food poisoning! The chicken fried chicken was almost too salty to eat. The berry cake was delicious as take out.

Same great food as the prior location with the friendly welcoming service in a clean, new, and modern setting. A little bit more of a drive for us, but well worth it! Fried chicken is always good. Can't go wrong with fish and chips. And once every now and then, you have to have fried chicken livers. This is the place!

Wife and I tried this place for the first time tonight. We were excited - Thursdays are our weekly date night: we pick a place we haven't tried, only sit at the bar, and order cocktails and dinner. We sat down at the bar around 7:15pm and each ordered a cocktail - she got a Peaches & Cream Martini and I had a Strawberry Coconut Margarita - both were listed as specialty drinks on the menu. Unfortunately the bartender had to look up both recipies in the book to know how to make them, which took a while. She explained that she's only been bartending once a week and hadn't been at the bar in a while. No biggie - she was very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with her. We then ordered a meatball appetizer and split the Frisco Burger. I was impressed that they halved the sandwich and the fries and brought separate plates out to us - a nice touch. Food was very good. However, the service left a lot to be desired - the bartender was friendly but would repeatedly walk by as she was putting up glassware or chit-chatting with coworkers without even looking our way to check on us. Any time we needed something - another drink, a box, our check, we had to flag her down. And the place wasn't busy. When my water was empty, she even took the glass as if she was getting me a refill and never brought it back. LOL 3-4 staff were congregating at the end of the bar off and on and would just hang out, look at their phones, etc. We felt kind of ignored. My wife is usually a glass half-full person and gets on my case when I complain about something at restaurants (as if I'm being too picky), but even she commented, "She's not a very good bartender," toward the end of our meal. All of that being said, I do want to try this place for brunch, so we will do that at some point. On the way out, I asked my wife how she would rate The Goose overall on a scale of 1 to 5 and she said 3. I would agree, so that's the score.

First timer, two adults and a toddler. It was pretty empty at 730pm on a Wednesday. Cute place...on one side there's a bar and the other side is seating. The hostess asked if we wanted a booth, which was mindful and worked great for our daughter. Their menu is pretty extensive and they also have seasonal specials. We started off with a couple of old fashioned's...hubs ordered the smoked one, which came with all the smoke. I ordered the chocolate old fashioned, which gave subtle espresso martini vibes. Good kids menu...she enjoyed her chicken and steamed broccoli. My husband ordered the prime hot brown and while he enjoyed it, he said he wished he would've ordered the original. I had the blackened caesar wrap with fries which was on the seasonal menu. They put the wrap on the grill, which made everything nice and warm. It was delicious. I gave most of my fries to the others, but they were hot and crispy. Overall, good service vibes and food. We'll be back soon to try more.

Great food, well appointed especially the bar area, but as others have noted the staff needs more training. Nothing wrong with having a young staff, but the place is small, and I overheard them disparaging one of their customers, and discussing the different types of marijuana. Lots of servers were standing around, and I felt bad for the poor bartender as she was in the weeds all night (she was running it solo, and the manager never helped out). A little more attention to these issues from mgmt and could be a great local spot.

This place was absolutely amazing! The food was to die for and the staff was incredible. They let us charge our phone at the hostess station and we got a fun little picture when we picked it back up.

We went to The Goose last night for the first time. The restaurant was pretty, modern, and very clean. We were greeted by a very friendly, very tall man, and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was Stan, and he took great care of us all evening. We started off with the fried green tomatoes. They came out quickly and VERY HOT! They are the best I've ever tasted. They were coated in the crispiest, most flavorful coating imaginable! The tomatoes were super tangy & delicious. They were served with a tangy & spicy dip. It was excellent! That dip would go well on anything! I've had a LOT of shrimp & grits in my life. Coming from Maryland, I know good seafood, too. This huge portion of shrimp & grits was hands down, the best I've ever had! Every single ingredient was perfectly prepared!! Even the least of them was thoughtfully done. The finely diced onions, celery, and peppers were all cut uniform, ensuring they all cooked evenly. The spices were bold and super flavorful. There was just enough spice to enhance all the natural flavors. The gravy was SO good! The sausage and shrimp were incredible. The grits were creamy and delicious!! There isn't anything remotely negative that I can say about this dish! (It was also served with 2 perfectly baked, scratch made, bread sticks.) My friend got the traditional hot brown. It made an impactful impression when they sat it on the table! It was HUGE and beautiful!! The robust flavors in the cheese sauce were mind-blowing! I tasted it, and my eyes just closed while it melted in my mouth. (I'd eat that sauce off the ground. It was that good!!) There was a ton of turkey on it, and I'm talking real turkey. It didn't appear to be deli turkey at all. The acid from the tomatoes went great with the rich cheese sauce. The bacon was abundent and perfectly cooked! My friend ordered the lemon, berry, blueberry cake dessert. I was full, but she insisted I take a bite. Im so glad I did! HOLY COW!!!!! Do not leave without getting this dessert! If you're full, take it to go, like we did. We've all seen the lemon blueberry combination, but I dare you to find one better than this! Tons of lemon flavor and lots of blueberries along with that moist cake were insanely delicious!! Neither of us finished our meals so we got to take home leftovers!! YAY!!! (I've already eaten mine and it is just as delicious as last night!!) We're already planning our next trip to The Goose! Do yourself a favor and go there immediately!!

First time at their new building. Went with another couple at 5:30 pm yesterday. Place was filthy. Lots of food and napkins strewn all over the floor. We should have just left. I asked the waitress if she could sweep by our table. She did. Food was average. Waitress did a good job. We don't plan on returning.

Great food and great service. We eat there about every other month and it is always a nice experience.

Food was great. I had a piece of perfectly grilled salmon on a spinach salad with a delicious vinaigrette dressing. Then my husband , who never eats cakes or pies, shared a piece of lemon Berry mascarpone cake adorned with whipped cream florets. We scraped the plate clean. Service was friendly and cheerful. Very nice atmosphere

The food was excellent! I had liver & onions, cheese grits, and twice steamed broccoli (special request) and every bite was perfection! The service was a bit slow, but that was quickly forgiven once the food arrived. The ambience was upbeat, yet relaxed and laid-back. It was a great time! I'm from Florida and have been to Louisville three times in the last five months I have been to The Goose four times in the last five months!

Updating this review because the chicken livers are officially one of my favorite dishes in town! They seem to have worked out the kinks - we've not been disappointed in several trips here!

Great food and service at a great price! Comfort food, but turned up a notch. A hidden gem.

To answer your question regarding the chicken fried chicken and what was expected....the chicken breasts are supposed to be pounded flat then breaded and fried. We ve never seen it done anyway else

Our server was super sweet and our dinner was great as usual. Sometimes forget about it since they moved but need to come more often.

Brand name change but still has all the classics from Goose Creek and they're still just as delicious! The Goose is certainly on my list of "Best of Louisville" due to their consistent product quality and exemplary service. While they've made some menu changes, likely due to rising costs, they still deliver on value. My only wish is that they would bring back some of the items that made them famous i.e. potato salad, bean soup, cornbread. Either way, this food will stick to your ribs and leave you feeling satisfied. Fried green tomatoes and creek sauce is the best in Louisville, change my mind!

Beer battered fish was very good. I was surprised at how busy the place was on a Friday lunch. Will be back!

Terrible, frozen food. Server hadn't tried multiple items on the menu which should tell you something about the food. The server also did not know if any of the items were prepared fresh. Food was not good.

After having a good dinner here last week we decided to try their fried chicken (3 piece) dinner tonight. Big mistake. Both dinners, one all dark meat and the other all white meat, were extremely tough. Very disappointed.

After being recommended to my wife and I, we visited this past Friday night. My wife fried chicken was very dried out, to a point of offensive. We did not complain because I had already sent my hot brown back to be heated up as it came to me luke warm. Server was very pleasant and professional, but food subpar. We will likely not be a regular

The food was OK, but as a transplanted Goose Creek Diner, it was a big disappointment. Goose Creek was popular because the food was "down home" cooking; it was not pretentious. The new place is nothing like that. I doubt I will return.

We were seated right away. Nice atmosphere. We had the fried chicken livers with white gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. The food was delicious and hot. Service was outstanding

Always great food. Chicken livers are the best. I usually eat there once a week. And their beverages are just as awesome. I've had a few myself. It is definitely my favorite place! And service is always top notch.

large portions- definitely a place to go if you were hungry. However, I don't see much of a difference other than atmosphere from their Goose Creek Diner restaurant. I would not recommend going on a Friday of lent. I ordered carry out and got there about 10 minutes after they stated my order would be ready. I had to wait an additional hour. The front staff was not well organized as they were quite young.

wonderful comfort food!! also plenty of tasty healthy options on the menu. seasonal specials & nice desserts, too - peanut butter pie & carrot cale (walnuts) our favorites. Pepsi products, yummy ice tea & good coffee. our server, Jordon, was lovely - she was very attentive & friendly. everyone was accommodating of mobility differences & made us welcome. Goose has a full service bar with nice selection & a few Tvs for games, news, etc. is mostly quiet atmosphere, so friendly conversation is easy. clean & bright, they offer both tables & booths. Goose shares parking lot with other businesses in the center, but usually easy to find a spot. always a nice dining experience - treat yourself

Ordered the Chicken Carbonara tonight but it had too many mushrooms and red onions that it took away from the taste of the sauce. Didn't care for the bacon either. Maybe add some roasted peppers, peas, or broccoli. I probably wouldn't order it again.

Recently went here to have lunch with family, and we had not been to the new location yet. This restaurant was previously on goose Creek Road, but moved to this newer building, and it's a very fresh take on an old favorite. The food and the previous restaurant was always ample and delicious, and things haven't changed! I had the hot brown which had the right type and amount of more sauce, good turkey and crispy bacon. She had the salad with salmon, and Ware the server initially hit the wrong button and didn't bring out the salmon, it was rectified shortly, and she had a good meal.staff may be a little bit new, but be patient as you will get a good meal. Love the decor and ambience inside very cozy and inviting.

Worst food we have ever eaten! Service was poor too! I don't know how anyone can screw up a burger but they managed to do so!
