The Gordon House Hotel

Everything about this hotel was top notch! Service, staff, cleanliness, quiet space. Friendliness, nice sized rooms, well outfitted, comfortable beds, ample space and many more things. ||We came very late at night after a 15 hour flight and all staff there were helpful and ready to help us with everything we needed. ||The complimentary breakfast was fresh, with just enough choices and you could ask for custom made eggs, pancakes etc fresh out of the kitchen. Again the staff here were wonderful. ||We enjoyed our two nights here very much.

Too overpriced for what they offer. Definitely not a four star hotel. We shortened our 8 day stay after a day and changed hotels. It is a 2-3 star hotel and that’s stretching it. Just spend an extra 2-3k a night and stay at a five star hotel with a bazillion amenities - none of which this place offers. The hotel was awful! They shouldn’t be charging more than 3k for a night and they have the audacity to charge 10k to provide a bed and no gym/spa/nice restaurants or anything!! Just go stay at the oberoi or trident (which is what we did)

I tried to book for two people yet somehow it was booked under 1 person. We even confirmed it the day before as we wanted two twin beds and informed them that this for a room for two people. Yet what a ruckus was created by the reception staff Mr. Vijay, he was extremely rude, hostile and very disrespectful. My fellow guest was made to wait for over one and half hour to check in to the hotel when prior payments were already made. He wouldn’t even listen to what we had to say and kept repeating you’ve to pay extra only then we’ll allow you to enter. We were made to wait for 1.5 hours of back and forth. Very disappointing to see such behaviour from such a good property. The window of our room was not cleaned as it was tainted with bird poo ruining the little view we had. The rest of the stay was very pleasant. Property is decent but the management should be a little more friendly and respectful.

On our first day, we were warmly welcomed with a pot of masala chai. Our rooms were super clean and cozy. As we were the first time in Mumbai, we were quite helpless as far as services were concerned. Unfortunately, Anna had a dental problem and needed a dentist’s help But no problem for the reception stuff. Varun did a great job, found a good dental clinic nearby, made an appointment, organised a taxi and gave helpful and competent information. Within two hours everyhing was okay!|The following days Varun helped us with interesting places to go and organised countless taxis for us! Thank you for your patience, Varun! We appreciated that a lot. |And we loved the delicious dosas for breakfast- so thin and crispy. Not to forget our room service - He always helped us with coffee and water. 14 of a stayed here as members of our tour group. The rooms are nicely furnished with nice amenities. Since this is a rehab of an older building, each room seems to be different and interesting.||The first night as it turns out, my room was right over the disco below it . This was not good because the pounding music kept me awake till after midnight.||To the hotels credit, they moved several of us to the fourth floor and then the disco downstairs, was not a problem .||The staff were very friendly and helpful.||We also ate breakfast there and it was very good.

If you’re intent an enchanting small and personalised hotel at the very heart of the Bombay heritage district then this is the place for you. It’s old but charmingly so and that’s why you should go. The staff and manager go out of their way to ensure your delight. That’s more than most other hotels care to do these days.

Excellent service. Comfortable. Varun was especially helpful! Room was clean. Bed was turned down at night. When I had WiFi issues, they were addressed right away. Location was convenient and close to all major tourist attractions. I will be back!

It's located in a very good place, walkable distance to nariman point and gateway of India. The rooms were neatly maintained, service was great and food was awesome. Good was slightly pricey but tasted good. Overall good experience....
