The location of this moderately priced hotel is perfect for visitors, just steps from the Gateway of India and surrounded by restaurants, shops and vendor stalls. We were there from Saturday through Monday nights and heard no noise as some reviews have suggested. The hotel is bright and clean and the staff is friendly. Our only quibble is that our room didn't have much of a window, so in your reservation, specify a view! We didn't try the stir-fry restaurant in the hotel, but friends who were also staying there liked it a lot (we were there with a small tour group). Breakfast was good and varied. We liked the restaurants nearby: Ling's Pavilion for moderately priced Chinese and The Table for pricier and excellent international food. The neighborhood was very walkable, and nearby was the Regal movie theater, the fancy Taj Mahal historic hotel, and a major art museum.

Great location in the fort area of Mumbai. The room is fairly basic but comfortable, but the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. We only ate on the first day and then avoided thereafter.

The hotel has a nice, clean and bright vibe on entering. The aircon is very welcome when you've been out all day. The rooms are a good size with a nice comfy bed and bathroom. The location is great for being close to the Gateway to India and the ferries to the Elephanta Caves.|There is a lovely restaurant in the hotel which serves amazing food at lunch and dinner. It also serves breakfast in the morning.|We had a few problems in our room with the lights and safe not working but the staff worked hard to sort the problems out. I would stay there again if I was in Mumbai.

I will start this by saying this hotel is amazing and I think anyone visiting Mumbai should stay here. I’m a backpacker from USA & took me a while to find a good hotel in Mumbai, since it was my first time visiting this amazing city. Every hotel had bad reviews or highly expensive. So I decided to pick this one and hired a taxi service, (which you could do on this website.) The hotel is a drive down south from the airport in Colaba. The location is perfect. It’s down the street from the famous Taj Mahal hotel so how could it get any better. A short walk from all the touristy spots. It’s perfect. The hotel felt very safe. There’s security that watches over you and the rooms are on the second floor. There’s a front desk and everyone there is kind and helpful. The room is very clean, no bugs, no dust, good ac, little candies and a perfect shower. Perfect pressure, perfect hot water. They have tea, coffee and unlimited water bottles. The breakfast is the best part. Don’t skip out on it! They have a lot of options from Indian to western & everything is made with care and love. The breakfast might be the best part :) idk who the chef is but he/she did a wonderful job. Okay, so no more searching and stressing! Book this hotel, it’s a winner!

Excellent location, next to the street shopping & favourite restaurants like Cafe Leopold and Mondegar. Walking distance from the Gateway of India. Rooms and service were very good and clean. The in-house restaurant and bar is a great place as well. Thanks to Varun for making us comfortable.

Wonderful experience, the friendliest staff, fresh and clean, quiet for a good night sleep! I would like to thank Varun from the front desk and all the other staff who made my stay comfortable and offered me the warmest welcome I could get in Mumbai!||The Gateway of India is literally 3 mins away! The restaurants I liked nearby are the Ling Family restaurant and The Table. You can get a sim at George Electric (1 min away). ||Enjoy your stay in Mumbai!

I loved this hotel for its location, cleanliness and service. But at night it turns into a giant boom box with music from the first-floor discotheque vibrating through the building from top to bottom. I will never stay here again.

Highly over priced. Simple desi food is missing. Reminds me of a few cramped Singapore hotels... Visually a good place, well maintained but too squeezed. Next time I would prefer Trident or Taj Towers at a slight premium rather than Gorden House in the locality.
