This was our first stay at the hotel. The service and accommodations were impressive. Chance did great wearing many hats: valet, door man, and bell hop. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. We loved the quiet ambiance. The decor and rooms were beautiful. The location allowed us to walk to many places.

The coffee was the best hotel coffee I have ever had. The staff were uniformly competent, friendly and helpful. The building is a beautiful renovation of an old building and the dining room, The Wild Swan, served brunch til 1:00 pm so one could sleep|late and still get something good to eat. It is right on Main Street within walking distance of distilleries, the Louisville Slugger bat museum and factory, many eateries and bars. It is a short drive to the Ball Park, to Churchill Downs and to the River. It is a wonderful hotel.

Beautiful hotel with friendly, warm staff! The Wild Swann is a hidden gem in Louisville. Amazing food and cocktails in a classy and comfortable ambiance. Mark provided excellent service, recommendations and very interesting history about the hotel and the city. He was a highlight of our trip. Thanks Mark, and thank you also to Linda and the rest of the team at the hotel. Highly recommend this place!

The Grady is not only the perfect location to walk whiskey row, but really well done in and out. The rooms were new and spacious. The hotel bar and restaurant were also fantastic they were went back to over our trip

We really enjoyed our stay at The Grady Hotel. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are clean & beautifully decorated. The hotel gives off old money vibes - historical, luxurious, & classy. The best perk is that it is so close to all of Louisville's downtown attractions & restaurants.

If I could rate more stars I would! This is a hidden gem 🤩 I will say this will NOT be my last visit to the Wild Swan in the Grady Hotel! We were welcomed and treated with great care by Mark! He gave a great history of the The Grady Hotel! He also gave excellent food and drink recommendations and we tried them out and everything was absolutely amazing! As we were getting ready to leave, Mark gave suggestions to visit other places around Louisville! When I say a gem… I mean it 💎! Thank you Mark for a wonderful experience and it won't be the last!

Google
We had an amazing stay at The Grady, and the incredible staff at the the Wild Swann made it even more special! A huge thank you to Mark, who took great care of us during breakfast on Thursday and Friday mornings, and to Travis, who made our Friday and Saturday nights so nice. Their service was outstanding — warm, attentive, and truly above and beyond. We can't wait to come back again - Highly Recommend!

Yelp
A sweet little boutique hotel in the middle of whiskey and bourbon row. Although my room was small and due to the location being a back corner, kind of dark, the soaring ceiling made up for it (next time I'd try to get a room that's not on the ground floor... for my mental health). There is no gym, as others mention, but you can get one free day pass to the gym across the street and after that one comp pass, it's 10 dollars a day. What I loved most about my stay here: the amazing bed/linens (next to impossible to get up in the morning, no exaggeration) and the 2 varieties of robes, one silky (in homage to Mohammed Ali) and one plush and warm. My room was on the chilly side, even with the thermostat bizarrely set at 75, so I appreciated that robe. I absolutely love CO Bigelow bath products and I'm thankful when they don't get you the tiny bottles but have the big dispenser on the shower walls. Location: I'm not really interested in whiskey, but if you are, you're in the midst of a lot of it. There's a bakery/coffee shop next to the hotel that I didn't try and a really good one (Blackbeard Espresso) a block down. I did try to find places to eat in the vicinity but I didn't see a lot of options. NuLu is nearby enough, if a bit of a walk, and there's a lot over there. Admittedly, I prefer a large hotel with more amenities, but the staff here was nice and helpful (printed something for me) and the basement bar/restaurant is OK (but closes at 9:30 and it's on the pricey side).

Yelp
Pros: The Grady is a beautiful boutique hotel in a great location on Whiskey Row. The lobby has plenty of comfy seating to relax and enjoy a drink by the faux fireplace that surprisingly emitted a lot of heat. The rooms are cozy, with a comfy bed and a mini-fridge for cold waters (which you'll need after drinking bourbon). We enjoyed the Wild Swann restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Cons: We booked a weekend special where we could check out as late as 5pm to enjoy more bourbon tours and tastings before our evening flight, though we were annoyed that our keys stopped working in the afternoon and we had to go back down to the front desk to reset them. There also isn't always someone at the front to help - a housekeeping staffer had to call someone else while I waited for quite some time. All that said, I'd probably stay here again for the weekend deal and location. It's across the street from Evan Williams, a 10 minute walk to Old Forester, and about a 20 minute walk to Angel's Envy, among other distilleries.

Yelp
This is my 3rd visit to Louisville and The Grady has become my favorite boutique hotel. The hotel is located right on Main Street walkable to bars and restaurants. The lobby is beautifully decorated and there's artwork throughout this historic building that was built in 1883, which was commissioned by pharmacist J.B. Wilder as a medicinal bourbon apothecary. Our king room was small, but had plenty of drawers and a small closet for clothes. There is a room safe and small refrigerator in the closet. The bathroom is a nice size with a huge shower. The bed was very comfortable. I also liked the great steamer provided. The staff at The Grady went out of their way, very kind and friendly. Shoutout to Linda in the evenings. We loved seeing her and chatting each day. She'd make sure we had water bottles as did other front desk staff. The negatives ... no coffee maker in the room. It was a pain to have to get dressed and go to the lobby or restaurant for our complimentary first cup of the day. Messy hair, no makeup - ugh. BIG fail. Also, our room facing Main Street was very loud because of racing cars zooming by and loud people. The noise gave us interrupted sleep. Ask for a room away from the street. I highly recommend the Grady. It's in a perfect location, beautifully decorated and extremely well kept rooms with a comfortable bed. We absolutely loved this hotel.

Yelp
Brandon met us at the door, eager to help. Alexa and Marcola did a great job to welcome us and check us in. We had a blast at this hotel. Our room is great, very modern, the lobby and seating areas are wonderful. The best fireplace! A special treat, we found the lounge restaurant downstairs, it had a speakeasy flair to it. Cocktails are great and that's where we met Melanie, Josh and Lance, they are awesome! Rooms were great, bed was comfy and the shower was good. We went to grab a bite to eat, and when we came back, we were able to get into a great conversation with Brandon. Great people! Great cocktails in the wild Swann. The history of this building is amazing. It used to be a hat factory. I decided to go for breakfast and that's where I met Mark, he was delightful. I WOULD RECOMMEND $40 for valet, and the note sounded like they did have street racing last night.

Yelp
This hotel is gorgeous, inside and out, the rooms are extremely well kept and the staff is outstanding! They are the nicest and most helpful people around, especially to travelers who don't know the area at all. They do their best to help in every way- we even got snowed in without any food and their chef stayed to help us out with some food. The generosity is out of this world and again the hotel is just amazing comfort and aesthetic wise. 100/10 recommend staying here!

Yelp
TLDR: Great place! Close to many things! Hyatt affiliated. Valet Parking $40 overnight This is a great boutique hotel situated right at the main street in downtown louisville. There were many reason why we picked this hotel. 1. I am a Hyatt member. Since this is a small luxury hotel, if you book through Hyatt, it includes free breakfast, no status needed! 2. It's close to everything. It's kind of in the middle of Main street, there are Michter's distillery, buzzard root, peerless on one side. Old forester on the side 10 minutes walking. 3. Valet parking is $40 a night, yikes. We still picked this hotel over hyatt regency because of the location, even though HR has free parking. I believe our room was at the top level, it has super high ceiling, I would guess 16 ft? All amenities has a modern updated design. Very speakeasy like. The main lobby area is somewhat between french modern and speakeasy bespoke/posh We had breakfast 3 days in the basement, they are all cooked to order and very fresh. All staffs were friendly, shout out to all of them! We had a great experience at check in, valet, restaurants, night staff
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
I would like to reiterate we were never refunded $400 despite having hospital documentation let alone receive a PHONE CALL or even RESPONSE! Management please reach out. I'm so embarrassed this hasnt been addressed by now.

Yelp
A wonderful hotel. We only stayed one night, but it was a pleasure. The interiors are beautiful!

Yelp
I do not give five star reviews. Ever. This place was absolutely fantastic. My wife and I went down for a show at a local venue and had an incredible night. The staff, especially Alexa, absolutely exemplify southern hospitality. Our room was great. Soft, comfy bed, big bathroom with very modern amenities, and the room was spacious with all the things you expect from a solid place to stay. Very classy hotel. The Wild Swan was one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had as well. We had dinner the night before at Repeal and had a great experience, but I'd rather go back to the Wild Swan. My wife had the biscuits and gravy for brunch and I had the hot honey with chicken. It was absolutely incredible. The ambience and design of the restaurant is gorgeous, and Mark, the gentleman who took care of us, was perfection. Highly recommend having your own experience and DO NOT miss the brunch. It's excellent.

Yelp
This hotel was absolutely wonderful. I found them on Yelp about a month prior to my visit and the reviews and photos sold me. I booked a room for 3 nights, right then and there, and when the day came to check in, it was perfect. First, the location is prime time. Second, their staff was incredibly friendly, as in above and beyond, they brightened my day/night each time I walked through the lobby. Third, the vibes are on point. Very elegant, says Louisville in a classy way. Fourth, my room was super comfy and chic. The bathroom was huge, the bed, comfy, and I loved that it had a refrigerator. I was even told that the giant luxurious robe in my closet paid homage to Muhammad Ali (he was from Lou). Next, the continental breakfast was interesting. In the basement of the lobby is a restaurant/cocktail lounge. You had to go down there and sit down at a table and order. Not what you would expect and it was simple (fruit, a croissant, and a drink). It just took a lot longer than the normal, buffet style breakfast. I wish I had time to grab a drink or full meal there. Very cool space, kinda of speakeasy-like. In short, I would totally stay here again and would recommend it to anyone... hence the five stars. I don't have a single complaint.

Yelp
Spent 1 night 6/29/24. Arrived at 130pm. No valet outside. Went inside told they weren't sure where he was. Attempted to check in 90 min early. Told it was a $50 fee even with open clean rooms. Front desk staff were rude. Uncaring and acted put out by doing their job. Room was small. Plain. Not as advertised on web. Shower is small and old. Hotel bar/restaurant was not open at time advertised. Not impressive. Bartenders and servers boring and not interactive. Food was very good. Cocktails were very good. Will not stay here again for price or as advertised.

Yelp
Great customer service. We checked our bags and did a tour at Angel's Envy, came back and our bags were in our room. Room was clean and hotel was really neat. Love that it's not a chain. Complimentary wine was a great surprise! Restaurant was nice, my husband enjoyed the dessert and the manhattan I had was delicious. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with kind and helpful staff. Enjoyed my stay here - the location cannot be beat. Really wish I had had a better view than an alley/side street though. That was a little disappointing. Otherwise, a good stay and would definitely consider booking again.

Yelp
For the most part, we loved this hotel. The service staff was wonderful from the front desk to the restaurant/bar. There is no better location for those wanting to experience Louisville. Our standard king room was spacious with a wonderful bathroom. The desk was a nice touch, as was the (very) mini fridge. For me, one of the nicest touches was two USB ports on each side of the bed plus two more on the desk. In all, almost five star. What would it take to earn that last star from me? Three things: 1) Caulking at the bottom of the glass shower panels so water doesn't flood the bathroom floor. 2) Lighted magnifying mirror in the bathroom for the ladies. and 3) A chair other than the desk chair in the room.

Yelp
I had to review for the aesthetic. It's such a cute boutique hotel. Room is clean and quiet. Bed is comfy and the staff was so nice (after we checked in at midnight cause of airport delays). A cute hotel in a very walkable area if you like boutique.

Yelp
The Grady is a hidden new gem in downtown Louisville. This cute little hotel is a must visit - everything has been thoroughly designed with the history of the building and patron in mind. The rooms are on the smaller side , but is to be expected in a hotel like this. The decor was done perfectly, simple and elegant. The bed was very comfortable and the room very clean. There is some noise from the street, but that is to be expected when you stay downtown. We did not get to enjoy the Wild Swann for dinner or drinks, but we enjoyed their complementary continental breakfast. Juan who was working breakfast is amazing, funny, polite and very helpful - also a hidden gem in this hotel. Can't wait til we can go back and visit The Grady again.

Yelp
Beautiful state of the art hotel with modern and chic decor. Located under the lobby was a speakeasy style bar that serves delicious free breakfast in the morning. The bourbon selection was immaculate, wish I could try them all! The staff was very friendly and delightful. The Grady Hotel will be my go-to hotel for any future stays in Louisville!

Yelp
This hotel is such a great boutique hotel. The staff are amazing!!! The little bar/restaurant is good, the location is great. I highly recommend this place !

Yelp
The pros+++ Location, Great Basement Bar, Incredible Staff (Juan in the basement & David at the front door) with 1st class service, nice continental breakfast to start the day, fresh complementary cocktail at check-in, comfy rooms/beds, great bathrooms, very clean and hip spot. The cons--- The biggest CON after a long day, the basement bar not open Sunday & Monday... Coffee needs to be a bit stronger. Rooms are small, little closets/storage for business trip. No Gym, Hotel sits on busy street so at times traffic was loud. Costs $40 per day to park valet.

Yelp
I had no idea when I booked this hotel it was so new!! LOVELY hotel!! Honestly the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is 1) no room service which for me when I travel is kind of a big deal especially for breakfast and 2) no gym. But that's ok. The rooms are huge and the beds are soooo comfortable. The bathrooms are roomy and well equipped. They also have a very very cool bar with restaurant (mostly bar as they call it) downstairs- in the morning they serve breakfast there and it IS a delightful breakfast. They say it's a continental breakfast but don't let that name fool you. This is extensive and 5-STAR and legit. And they have cooked eggs of some form every day. The coffee is also 5-star. And the staff is exceptional everywhere. Strongly recommend the hotel. Just add a gym!! ;-)

Yelp
This review is for Wild Swan, the bar at The Grady. We visited to celebrate our anniversary & were so pleased with the ambiance & beverages. The four of us had a drink named "The Apothecary " & was concocted by my Great Great Grandfather who built the building that now houses the hotel. The bar has private areas if you desire a romantic setting. It offers small plates from 3pm-5pm when the kitchen opens. We will definitely return.

Yelp
We travel with my husband's service dog and first the time in our all of our travels we were met with so much confrontation. This hotel was advertised as "pet friendly" with no stipulations but a fee. We were challenged immediately about her size and her service ability. The gentleman at the front desk said I no this isn't legal but I need you to prove she is a service animal. After he excepted her as a service animal he proceeded to tell us that all service animals are required to sleep on the bottom floor and made us feel like we were being punished bc we had the dog. We were lucky enough to hear the ice machine run all night and the garbage pick up at 2:00 am. There was someone else left over puke around the toilet base and the bed was impossible to sleep in bc it taco'ed when you laid down. The most astonishing thing was to see the hotel employee letting her little dog run around the lobby with no leash on the next morning. The only helpful person was the kind valet man when we first arrived who made an effort to make us feel welcome.

Yelp
If you are going to stay in Louisville this is the place to go. Quiet, clean and comfortable. Our bed linens, towels and robes were a treat! From the first encounter on the phone we had excellent service. The staff was competent, friendly and personable.

Michael C.

Yelp
Meh. Nice looking lobby. Had to call the phone number so someone could check us in. Room was a tad small, but we did like the decor. We were a little put off by the sticky floors, cabling running in front of our window and the lack of a pantry or in room bar. For the price, I think they could do better.

Max M.

Yelp
this is what a central boutique hotel should be. unique - not knowing if you are in SoHo, San Francisco or London. If you are attending a show at Kentucky Center for the Arts, Actors' Theatre or Yum - you are there. booze is available 'till 4 AM and Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse is close.

Michael M.

Yelp
First class hotel, every staff member was very professional and helpful. Complimentary Breakfast was awesome! Highly recommend!!

Alma H.

Yelp
This is a gorgeous, super central hotel smack in the middle of downtown Louisville. The only reason I have not given it five stars is because of the breakfast. The " fresh " cut fruit is recycled day after day. As a result, it is not fresh. Also, a toaster should be provided and available to guests. That would solve the stone cold, barely toasted muffin and bagel problem.

Debbie M.

Yelp
DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR ROOM! You will NOT get it back. I'm so sad I left $150 worth of souvenirs from my 50th Birthday Bourbon Trail trip, in a small shopping bag in my room. I called 6 hrs after checking out but was told "nothing was recovered" in my room. I booked 3 rooms side by side and all of us know that the bag was left in that room. The more I talked to them about the issue the less interested they were in helping me. They did not like that I was questioning my found items being handled improperly but had no problem accusing me of lying about it being left in the room.

Brandon S.

Yelp
We stayed here last night and had a great experience! We were kindly welcomed and greeted by the front desk and offered complimentary drinks upon check in. The staff was very friendly and offered recommendations for things to do near by. Our room was clean and had enough room for all of our stuff. The hotel was in a great location and we were able to walk to dinner and to get cocktails just down the street. The complimentary breakfast was great as well as the staff serving us!

Yelp
don't let the fancy upscale bull shit fool you into trying this place out like we did... the grady is the most shady hotel my family and i have ever stayed at! first of all the rooms are way over rated, it's nicer and more comfy in a comfort inn...the main shady thing about the grady is that they steal your money with no warning!!!! they charged us 700$ on top of the cost of the room that (we did not authorize) for just one night!!!! than they have the audacity to tell us how we should spend our money and with different methods like credit cards....are these ppl crazy or what?! never again!!!! its been a week still trying to get our money returned to us on our debit card!!!! fuck this place!! stay away!!!

Charlotte L.

Yelp
Loved the small intimate feel of this Hotel! It was clean and beautifully decorated! Loved it! Will be back! The continental breakfast was awesome!

Lisa H.

Yelp
We had a fabulous stay at the Grady! Everything was spotless, including our room. The staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. We loved the art in the lobby, the incredibly high ceilings in our room (maybe 25' ?), the FREE breakfast which included made-to-order omelettes, the Ali-like cozy robes and slippers, and the walkability of its location to the river walk, bourbon places, and parks. The bad reviews seem to be complaining about things that happen at all hotels - pet charges and holds on debit cards. We've already recommended The Grady to several friends and we'd go back again in a heartbeat.

Michelle W.

Yelp
Look no further -- this is the most professional and charming hotel you will find in Louisville. Beautiful and modern yet in keeping with the original architecture. Perfectly done! The staff are friendly and accommodating and truly here to give you a remarkable experience. We were welcomed by Brian, and affable Allen brought our bags to our room. We arrived late, so we headed down to the well-stocked bar for a nightcap. Friendly and knowledgeable Lance greeted us there. He made me the best old-fashioned I have ever had, and walked me through the steps so I could replicate it at home. He also gave my husband some spot-on bourbon suggestions, since Louisville is the bourbon capital of the world. We then ventured back to our room where the perfect mattress and pillows delivered a wonderful night's sleep. The following day we had tour reservations at the Bulleit Distillery in Shelbyville. When our taxi failed to show up, the general manager Laurent hopped in his beautiful Ford F-150 four-door and drove us out there himself!! Honestly, in a world where service has become a distant memory, the Grady Hotel and it's second-to-none staff are a revelation! Can't wait to see what the rest of our stay will hold. I'm going to break Yelp's mold and give them six very well-deserved stars!

sandra m.

Yelp
New and should be pristine but is not. Lackadaisical check in personnel who was sitting in a high backed chair texting when we came in and didn't even know how to find assistance. Phone in our room was not plugged in and couldn't contact front desk (unable to plug in ourselves because bed with headboard is way to heavy and plug is behind). And although pet friendly-watch out for the $150.00 surcharge. Food ordered from downstairs restaurant was surprisingly good.
