A fantastic experience with so much to do! We went for the recent memorial holiday weekend and didn’t have time to do all of the things that were available. The recreation staff is phenomenal and I witnessed them working tirelessly to make sure the guests all had a blast. Sandcastles, fishing, adults only pool, watercraft… and that’s just scratching the surface! Be sure to check out the main building and ask about the military history. Super fascinating! If you need anything fun-wise, Adam and their rec crew will take care of you!

The grand in Fairhope is always fantastic and never disappoints. This 4th of July was no different. The grounds are always so well kept. The staff is beyond friendly. And this year I got to experience golf at the Azalea course for the first time and it was great as well. We will definitely be back!

We just completed our stay at this wonderful property. The rooms need a little work… But the location and the property are spectacular… My wife and I were very impressed with the service. The training of the staff is spectacular. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. They exuded southern charm and hospitality. In particular we sought out Veronica every morning for breakfast. She made us feel like family and very special! She was spectacular. Vicki at the front desk was also incredibly nice. She was very accommodating when we asked to move rooms away from the pool area. if you’re ever in Alabama, this is the place to stay!

The GOOD, The BAD and the UGLY|Our annual holiday is important to us so I try to choose wisely and this place sounded great|So first the GOOD news..Wonderful staff, Great Location in a quaint area and good on site food.|Now the BAD...The Continental breakfast is beyond awful and the worst value we have ever experienced.. One small slice of toast, wee pot of yoghurt and a coffee...$17.50,,, Outrageous.. The full breakfast at $33 is actually OK|Finally the UGLY...Our first room costing $450 was in an outside block, looked out to a car park and basically furnished. After complaint ( Shout out to Manager Vicki) we moved to the main building at $100 more per night and it was like a different hotel... Bigger room , lovely furnishings and a nice view.. In our opinion the main building is a must even though its a bit more cost.

One of the better hotels in the country. Iconic/historic hotel and Marriott did a great job keeping the personality of the hotel. Restaurants are great. Pool area and dock are great for kids. The town is very close and plenty to do. The bike rides down the bay from the hotel are an excellent activity.

They do not have standard or soft pillows!|Good is a 3 at best!!|Pool is loud with country music only!!!|Don’t bother to get a porch , the mosquitoes are horrible!! Only reason to go is for great 5 star golf - we did not check out the spa. You will pay to get a lift to the quaint, nearby town.|If they recommend ‘The Wash House’ you better really like your food salty and you’ll pay for the charm of the settings but the food is a 3 for sure. The manager and staff are kind and very willing to please it was not at all what we were expecting from others we know with a top recommendation.

Google
We had our 10 year anniversary vow renewal here and it was a great experience! The food was good, service was exceptional, and the staff was friendly. My wife and my family enjoyed the special occasion, and the staff was very helpful, especially since it was a surprise to my wife. I also got compliments from the staff and other guests on the occasion, so it definitely was a success.

Google
Truly a hidden gem and one of the best relaxing spring breaks we have ever had. From the moment we rolled through the gate, every single person was impeccable. Danielle showered us with hospitality at checkin to ensure our room was satisfactory…it was perfection. All of the restaurants came with amazing food and drinks and phenomenal servers (Aydan, Harrington, Neil, Anna, Destiny, Hailey, Zachary, Christian, Keeley-i hope I didn't forget anyone). The spa ladies (Morgan, Sarah and the girls at the front) pampered us in luxury with an unforgettable experience. Complete with bell hops Destyn and Eli, and true southern hospitality. Thank you for incredible memories and give all of these people a raise! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
We were here for a convention , this time insisted upon the spa building. It was clean , inviting and everything one would expect. It was the exact opposite of our horrible dirty room in the Marina building . The towels were clean the room was clean and everyone who worked there wanted to help in anyway possible . The 3 is for the arrival experience! One problem I encountered was upon arrival. The desk clerk who checked me in asked about my service dog. I said medical alert. Alerts me when to take medications . He proceeded to tell me that "that seems to be an emotional support dog and will not be allowed in our restaurants. I said sir that is not correct ! ( I did not appreciate being told my medical alert service dog appeared to him to be emotional support!! )i told him I had Dr. letter from MAYO clinic and any other proof he May need. He said "I don't need to see your letter! " someone needs to inform him . That he is not a doctor and cannot make the call as to emotional support or medical alert! ALSO needs to INFORM him of the law, MY MEDICAL ALERT DOG MAY GO INTO HIS RESTAURANTS! This dog spent the night in intensive care with me at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. A trained service dog KNOWS how to act in public.i pray the manager reads this and explains the law to him.

Yelp
Nestled in the picturesque beach hamlet of Point Clear, in Fairhope, Alabama, The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa stands as an epitome of southern luxury, relaxation, and entertainment. Part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott, this historic hotel has been a staple in the region since its establishment in 1847. If you are thinking that's a long time for any business, well that was the year that President Zachary Taylor and Vice President Millard Fillmore are sworn into office, and the Mexican-American War ended. I have been here on multiple occasions to have cocktails with friends, dinner with my honey and have friends staying here that I visited. In addition my daughter was excited to try their delightful High Tea experience. Their High Tea service features a mouthwatering assortment of delicacies, including freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and preserves, a selection of delicious finger sandwiches, and an array of exquisite pastries. The service is complemented by a variety of specialty teas, carefully chosen to suit a range of palates and preferences. It is a must for special occasions or just a very nice date night. With its beautiful views of Mobile Bay, top-notch amenities, and outstanding dining options, the Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa offers an great experience for its guests, and visitors.  The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa has undergone significant transformations throughout its rich history, with the most recent being a massive renovation in 2018. This renovation enhanced the property's elegance and modernity while preserving its historic charm. It boasts 405 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, each offering stunning views of the bay or the gardens, catering to a full  range of guests from couples to families and  business travelers. Dining at the Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa is an experience in itself. The resort features nine unique dining options, providing guests with a plethora of choices. For casual dining, the Bayside Grill offers a laid-back atmosphere and delectable fare, while Southern Roots, a local chef-inspired restaurant, invites guests to indulge in farm-to-table cuisine. All good choices with culinary flare!!  Guests seeking relaxation can retreat to the resort's 20,000 square-foot Spa at the Grand. This oasis of tranquility offers a range of rejuvenating treatments and services to help guests unwind and recharge. The resort is also renowned for its top-notch recreational facilities, such as the two championship golf courses at the Lakewood Club, ten tennis courts, two championship croquet lawns, 11 pickleball courts, and a stunning pool complex, perfect for guests of all ages. The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa plays host to various special events throughout the year, including live music performances, seasonal festivities, and themed dining experiences. Bottom line: The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa is a premier destination for those seeking luxury and relaxation in Fairhope. Yelp
*this review is about the bar and lobby atmosphere - we didn't stay at the hotel.* This place was so much fun and so festive! We went on Thanksgiving day after eating a late Thanksgiving meal and were so impressed with how many people were out and about and how wonderful the workers were - kudos to everyone who had to work the holiday! They had somebody dressed in a big turkey walking around, taking pictures with all of the children and a big gingerbread house and Christmas tree - it was great!! Our bartender was Gaston - shoutout to him because he went above and beyond! Super friendly, checked in with us about the kind of flavors we liked before making our drinks and then adjusted our drinks based on what we liked/disliked! We had a great time, will definitely come back soon!

Yelp
Had wanted to visit for several years. Resort is nice. But the inside common areas were not as big as I was expecting. Outdoors is expansive. We enjoyed the both pools but by 12:00 - 1:00 the water was too warm to get in the family pool. We visited in July though. We rented a cabana for one day. They didn't even know we were coming and was set up for us. So we had to ask for everything that was supposed to come with it. It was nice to have though since it was so hot. Had a pedicure and manicure. Loved the manicure. Got extra pampered with a face mask. Pedicure was nothing special. The spa relaxation area was NOT relaxing. The don't monitor so people were talking and loud. One lady was on her laptop! Had a hydra facial and really enjoyed. This is an expensive place to stay. Rooms, food, etc. There is not a lot to do in the area. You can shop or play golf. Or drive 45 to an hour to beach or battleship. We were bored. We stayed in spa building. Room was nice with huge bathroom. Housekeeping takes forever. Twice I carried our dirtier towels and put in housekeeping cart and grab clean ones.

Yelp
Family vacations, especially with young children, are so easy, so memorable here. The Grand Hotel boasts expansive grounds along the Mobile Bay that are easy on the eyes from every vantage point... atop the wide hammocks strung beneath majestic oaks, on the fishing pier stocked with fresh shrimp and bamboo poles, in the resort pool dotted with cascades and a water slide that children summit and plunge on repeat for hours... Bucky's lounge is a gem. Craft southern cocktails glide across this four-sided solid wood bar while live piano music and singing brings the cheer in the evenings. The buffet breakfast at the Bayside Grill is perfectly complete, and the view will keep you sipping fresh orange juice and coffee for hours - while the kids play endlessly on the putting green in plain view. The rooms are very comfortable and the beds and perfect - make sure you reserve one with a view of the water. The resort staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, without being intrusive. Safe, beautiful, easy, lots of deep, refreshing breathing and long, peaceful gazing. It feels like a familiar retreat house that you want to return to as soon as you drive back home.

Enna J.

Yelp
Beautiful resort where you can unwind and unplug while in luxury. We stayed in the South building. It has a lovely foyer and staircase. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Love that they had a keurig coffee maker in the room. also 2 comfy robes provided. Our room had a private balcony with a breathtaking view of the bay. Be mindful if you do stay in this building it has 2 floors and no elevator. However, they will have the bellmen help you with your luggage if needed. There's a couple of restaurants/brs/cafes, a full service spa, fitness center, game/arcade room, conference/meeting rooms, huge pool (with an adult side with hot tubs and kids side with slide and splash pad)...plus outdoor activities. Outdoor activities that we saw (there may be more): bikes, paddle boards you can rent out, fishing on the pier (poles and bait included), beach vollyball, putting green. The only thing that was offputting is that while this resort is rich in history as one can they are extremely proud of by the books, statues and plaques of their timeline throughout the room and property...it is a history rooted in the Civil War. And considering they have (gun) canon display/ceremony daily celebrating/honoring the history, it may be a bit tone deaf.

Yelp
This place was a splurge... but it was a splurge that lived up to it completely! There was soo much to do, rooms were beautiful, staff was friendly and helpful. Our family had an absolute blast. As upstate New Yorkers, we didn't have plans to return to Alabama in the future, but I'm already thinking about it because of the Grand Resort. 10/10, highly recommend.

Will D.

Yelp
Very nice place to stay at! I was visiting with my gf and it's the 3rd time we stay here when we come. The place is beautiful and the staff are very nice and cordial. The food is really good if you ever want to do their Christmas Day buffet! Only problem this time around was that room service was not as prompt in cleaning and dropping off towels. We had to call on different days to come get the room cleaned which meant we had to step out of the room ... They usually get it done while we are out during the day ! Either way ! I highly recommend this place if you want a nice place to stay at

Jodi L.

Yelp
Great property , attentive staff. One of the better hotel gyms I've been in. Expensive for what it is but they know they're one of the few in the game in that area.

Ed L.

Yelp
During my stay at The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa from June 30th to August 2nd, I was blown away by the stunning beauty of the grounds. The early mornings were perfect for bike rides, as the cooler temperatures allowed for a delightful experience exploring the area. The pool area was another highlight of my stay. It was not only beautiful but also incredibly relaxing. Lounging by the pool and enjoying refreshing drinks was a true pleasure. I should mention that during the summer months, there is an adult-only pool, although the water tended to be a little warm during the hotter parts of the day. For beach enthusiasts, there is a small area with ample seating and umbrellas available on a first-come-first-serve basis. It's a great option if you enjoy spending time by the water. Onsite, The Grand Hotel offers several restaurants, which is convenient for those who prefer not to venture outside. However, I found the prices to be quite steep for what you get, so keep that in mind. Overall, The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa is an excellent destination for both families and couples seeking a getaway. I rate the food, drinks, and restaurants four stars, while the hotel grounds, amenities, and luxurious atmosphere earn a well-deserved five stars.

Lev E.

Yelp
Lovely property with lovely staff. We stayed in the newer part of the building. The room was comfortable with a lovely shower. The bathroom was on the smaller side but it worked for us. The balcony with direct views of the water was perfect and relaxing. Had to take off one star for the poor sound insulation between room and the hall. That is definitely an area for improvement since we could hear most conversations happening in the hallway from inside our room. Would definitely stay again if we find ourselves in the area.

Carpe Diem J.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Our room was very small, and the bathroom was very tiny. The grounds are lovely. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the hotel, and we truly enjoyed walking around the grounds while we were there. Everyone we met who worked there was very pleasant, helpful and friendly. It is a very expensive hotel, and with the tiny rooms we are not certain that we would stay here again.

Ben S.

Yelp
The Coffee shop local market constantly advertises a morning product as a croissant with Gouda cheese and 50 percent of the time it's only American cheese. They have hidden the tip jar so it's hard to give tips to the nice people who work there. There is a long line in the morning

Laura B.

Yelp
This is a lovely property with beautiful furnishings and delicious food. What set it apart for me was the exceptional guest service - from the Bayside Grill waitstaff to the folks who buzzed us around on golf carts when the humidity would melt even the sturdiest folks, to the transportation staff who went above and beyond to set up our taxi service to Mobile Airport - note, their drivers can take you if you schedule in advance. I thoroughly enjoyed my first time in Alabama and hope I can return for a non-work-related stay.

Misty M.

Yelp
Wonderful time! So much to do! Loved the pool area and the bike riding! You can also take the bikes outside the property to ride. Awesome spa too! Lots of food options and everything we ate was delicious!

Christy M.

Yelp
The spa at the Grand Hotel was truly a GRAND experience! from start to finish pampering, and so relaxing!!! My masseuse, the delightful Ms. Gleason, has hands of magic! Her experience truly shows with her gifted massage abilities! I couldn't recommend the spa and Ms. Gleason more highly!

Mike W.

Yelp
Wonderful place. Beautiful location. Activities for the family. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Best spot for a cup of coffee or a quick bite to eat while staying @ The Grand Hotel in Point Clear Alabama. We always stop here in the morning for our caffeine fix and a simple pastry breakfast for the kids. Highly recommend the Grand Hotel Special Iced coffee on a hot day. It's a delicious combination of espresso, praline, vanilla and white chocolate over ice. We also love the Vietnamese Iced Coffee if we want to switch it up from our go to Grand Hotel Special. Kids love the pastry counter which includes a wide array of baked treats and breakfast items. We grabbed the "Doughnut of the Day" which was a chocolate donut iced with chocolate icing and topped with M&M sprinkles...kids ate it up quickly. Hubby and I shared the "world famous coffee cake" with our coffees. There are other breakfast options like a breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwiches If you need a quick lunch bite, the chicken salad sandwich is excellent! One watch out if you bring the kids to the Local Market, the display case will definitely grab their eyes and you'll most likely hear them asking for Macarons, chocolate covered marshmallows or chocolate covered pretzels. And of course the prices are a bit high since you're eating on site but worth the convenience and delicious-ness!

Juliet H.

Yelp
What a treat! Thankfully, before Corona-gate, the hubs and I got to spend his Spring Break embarking on a Gulf Coast "staycation tour" of sorts! (lol-- if that makes a lick of sense) And on said tour, The Grand Hotel was one of our stops! We finally made it over, and I'm so glad as it's off the beaten path for us, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The property is gorgeous and well laid out! (Gives me a tiny "vacationing in the Hamptons" feel. And although I haven't yet, after watching Revenge on ABC -- loved that show-- I get that same vibe here! lol) All of the staff we came in contact with was amazingly helpful as you'd imagine, and our favorites were the bartenders (per usual)! Onique, at the pool bar, made us killer mudslides and hearing his Jamaican accent in South Alabama didn't suck either! Kelley at 1827 was epic in his cocktail crafting abilities, overall bedside manner and friendliness, and the hubs enjoyed his whiskey knowledge. We had so much fun at The Grand, and I do enjoy the fact that you don't have to leave the premises to have a full day! (Of course we did leave because I'm the black "Dora the Explorer" -- but the point is that we didn't have to!) From the pool with giant slide, to croquet courts, to the beach views (love their chairs) and rock jetty, dining options, and entertainment at the bar(s)-- I was in vacay heaven! The hubs and I have decided to make it a point to return ASAP as The Grand was definitely one of our favorite spots by far! Just Excellent.

Yelp
We celebrated our niece's 40th birthday on 3/5/2023 with the brunch at The Grand Hotel. There were 9 of us ranging in age from 10 to 89. COURTLAND was our server and she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She was friendly and extremely attentive! We felt like we were the only ones there and the place was full. Thank you COURTLAND, for making our special day perfect! Everyone at The Grand was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the valet parking. The food was delicious! The bands did a fabulous job! It was noisy, but it was happy noises; jazz band and chatter from others. We will return!

Alycia H.

Yelp
So I really loved this hotel! The rooms are perfect... Everything looks brand new and the beds are so cozy. The rooms definitely give you a modern feel... Also, the staff was amazing... Everyone I came in contact with was extremely friendly and helpful. The pool was really nice and clean, there's even a water slide which I thought was pretty cool. Next to the pool area there's a bar where you can get drinks and food. The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is because of parking. It was a nightmare, the parking lot in the front is soooo small you literally have to ride around 10 times waiting for someone to leave. They do have additional parking way in the back of the hotel but I found that to be a bit of a hassle. Other than that the hotel is perfect!

Kelly C.

Yelp
Went to bayside grill to eat and loved it! The ultimate Mac and cheese with chicken was so good! If you go be sure to ask for Courtland! She gave excellent service!!

Coleman O.

Yelp
Always a great place to visit. Kid friendly with views of Mobile Bay like no other. Putt on the greens or have a cocktail at one of the many fire pits. Just a beautiful atmosphere both inside and out. There are also many different restaurant choices with something for anyone. My favorite is Southern Roots ( S R ) restaurant and bar. They have great steaks and delicious seafood dishes which are expertly prepared and served. Nicky's is a great bar area where the views of Mobile Bay can be enjoyed with a wide selection of spirits. And you just can't beat the Grand Ballroom for Sunday Brunch. If you like lump crab meat, they have several dishes on the buffet that are Oscar style which features crab meat at its finest. Incredible Brunch with carving stations, cooking stations and bottomless Mimosas. Did I mention live music on weekends!!! Incredible!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEDED

Han B.

Yelp
Amazing hotel with lots of things to do throughout the day and night. The food here is also delicious

Christian R.

Yelp
So the grand hired a new "manager". Someone who cleaned hotels for 5 years is the equivalent of this guy. Treats his members with absolutely no respect. Would be a guest compared to a member 100/100 times. No respect whatsoever to the people that pay them a monthly fee to be here. If you want to be treated honestly, genuinely, and fairly, know that the grand will make zero accommodations for you and your family no matter how long you've been a member of this place.

Bruce S.

Yelp
At Buckey's Bar. A remarkably poor pour for such a great resort! They're taking advantage of the patrons. PITIFUL!

Bryanna K.

Yelp
Fabulous property! The coffee from thr Cafe was great and every staff member I encountered was very nice. The view from the pier is beautiful, as well

Courtney C.

Yelp
Had a wonderful afternoon cocktail..the rojo Paloma has a bite...In front of the fire pit looking out at the bay. Both servers and patrons were friendly. Tenderloin and Pinot noir were enjoyable at the bayside Grill. Can't wait to visit Southern Roots, a farm to table experience.

Erin B.

Yelp
Pool review. We came here mostly for the adult pool during the day. It was an anniversary trip without the kids. Mary Claire at the pool made our vacation a perfect dream. She was very attentive and genuinely interested in our satisfaction. She wasn't overbearing but also made consistent rounds so we weren't waiting for service. Chairs: we arrived at the pool at 8am to claim our spot for the day. We noticed people drop off towels to reserve a spot and not show back up for more than 4 hours. This created a bit of tension for those who couldn't find a seat at 10am. If you leave personal items people won't snag your towel covered chairs. The onion rings are delicious. Try the Miami Vice.

Tedi D.

Yelp
My whole family and I come a few times a month to eat here and or drinks. Brought friends for Easter brunch and the quality of food was very low, they had 2 ballrooms sharing one table of food leaving all guests to waiting in a 30 min line only to be out of all seafood. They then have the audacity to charge double the normal cost! We will not be dining at any of the restaurants here again. I'm embarrassed that I invited friends to come for this brunch for their first time.

Derk G.

Yelp
Absolutely stunning property. Staff super friendly. Really have nothing negative can say. Very relaxing with a lot of activities on property.

Abbey P.

Yelp
Amazing property with clean amenities, restaurants, and free options right on the bay. Great for family or couples, spent the weekend her with my sister just for relaxation and it didn't disappoint- we never left the property. Parking is scarce but they can pick you up and shuttle you around the property in a golf cart if you don't want to walk. We will be back!

Samantha I.

Yelp
The absolutely best place I've ever stayed in the United States. I wish there were 6 stars! Starting off you will be greeted at the 24 hr maned gate. Secondly, you drive down a long enchanting driveway, where you're greet by name as valet opens your door. After checking you travel by cart (if needed) to your building. Valet will unpack the car and carry your bags to the room. We stayed in the spa building with a partial view of the water and a view of the golf course. The balcony was more than large enough for a family of six to stand out and enjoy the night air or morning sunrise. HAPPY HAPPIER HAPPIEST!!!!! everyone was happy. Everyone was happy from the people that work there to the guess. We spent $80 on 4 drinks and two deserts but we were still happy ! I felt like I was on an resort in the Bahamas. There's evening events for the kids, free bicycle rentals, a waterslide, an adults only swimming pool... yes this is very resort like.

Oksana P.

Yelp
Great experience. A lots of things to do if you are with the kids : out of dock fishing, biking, gardening, set of games outside, clean beach ... Water quality in the pool was checked frequently during the day. Close to town restaurants. Carpets in a hallways were new. Cleaning stuff was very attentive and helpful. SPA experience was awsome. I've got scrub and massage and it was worth every dollar. Would definitely come back. Fairhope is Alabamas Carmel. Enjoyed the town and people.

Janet S.

Yelp
Always one of my favorite hotels to stay in! The rooms are so beautiful and comfortable. We love the balcony off the room and enjoy the beautiful views! The pool is a wonderful place to relax and grab a drink, just be prepared for it to be on the pricier side. The grounds are gorgeous, my favorite spots are the hammocks nestled around under the beautiful live oak trees.

Yelp
This is our new getaway! The property at The Grand is impeccable. This is a great place for couples or to bring the kids. Make sure you eat breakfast. Crabmeat, shrimp and scallops available for your omelette. There's a lot of room to jog and bike to work the breakfast off.

Yelp
One of the most amazing hotel/resort experiences we have had. The facilities are wonderful. The availability of a family pool and an adult pool was very appealing to my husband and I. Poolside food and drink service is so nice for a relaxing "do nothing" kind of get away. Our room in the spa building was renovated with an eye to a current and timeless decor. Southern Roots, the new on site high end restaurant was also wonderful. This is a must visit!

Yelp
Stayed here a night on our way passing through (and falling in love with Fairhope), and had a wonderful stay. The people were all amazing, staff everywhere were so well trained and attentive throughout the trip. Met the GM on our way out (walking through the property) and he stopped to see how our stay was in a very authentic way. Much appreciated and our kids had the time of their lives at the pool and with all the activities the place had to offer. We didn't have enough time! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
This hotel has been voted the best hotel in the world. It was absolutely the most incredible stay. The staff was impeccable, it is breathtaking and will always go back for the rest of my life.

Yelp
Luke the Bartender was our favorite part of the staff. He walked us over to see Jason (very entertaining and friendly) make his nightly Signature Cocktail at 5 pm and made sure everything we ate and drank was served fast. Shrimp and Grits are my favorite! My ONLY complaint was after playing golf in the morning in the overwhelming humidity I wanted to take a little nap and the cleaning staff lets the doors bump and bang everytime they go in and out. Get some door stops lovely grounds, fun pool if you have kids and great staff!!

Yelp
Drinks at Becky's lounge on the patio Sunday afternoon. Light breeze and lovely Bay view. Another Hidden gem near Fairhope!!

Yelp
Weekend get away to beat the heat is order of the day. Great pool, PGA class golf course, bike and walking trails. Spa for pampering. Beautiful sunset with a little wine or margarita (this is Jimmy Buffett country) with your best gal. Pricey but worth it.

Yelp
This place is THE BOMB!!!! Unbelievable scenery of Mobile Bay and the hotel complex. Stunning Angle Oak Trees. Ducks abound on the ponds. The various restaurants have incredible food. I suggest the Sunday brunch. The Bird Cage Lounge is stunning with its layout and views. Staff personnel are well selected and positioned for their perspective duties. Bring plenty of money. Drinks are pretty pricey. Again.....sit outside the Bird Cage Lounge on a cool night around their gas lit fire pits. You don't have to spend the night to visit. Tell the friendly entrance attendant that you merely want to visit the bar/restaurant and they will gladly allow your entrance.

Yelp
Ok, the hotel is remodeled and the common areas are nicely appointed. Croquet, putting greens, horseshoe pits, and corn hole. All very posh. The staff are attentive and very accommodating. No complaints here. The room we had was very nice with a Mobile Bay view but the shower stall was really cheap looking with a plastic base that flexed when you stepped on it. Also some small areas of mold in the glass corners on the base. I'd say 3 stars maybe 4 at most. We had a couple of breakfasts and one dinner here. The food was good but not as good as other restaurants nearby like the Wash House - great food and atmosphere worth the two minute drive off property. My major problem was parking. On the second night we arrived back from dinner around 7:45pm to find utter pandemonium on the narrow paths (they call roads) on the property. Apparently there was an event at the convention center and there was no effort to control the number of cars coming in past the gatehouse. Certainly the management must know the number of parking spaces they have (?). They stop and count the cars coming past the gate. Imagine having a room here, coming back from dinner, driving around for 45 minutes looking for a parking spot only to be told "you'll have to use the overflow lot across highway". Sure, there's no lighting and it's a half mile walk to the room. Absolutely a failure of management of this property. The valet stand was a disaster as well with cars everywhere and chaos. When you book a room at a "premium" property, the least you should expect is being able to park near your room or have a valet available. As much as this hotel has going for it, I'd think twice before I stayed here again.

Yelp
If you are looking for a relaxing vacation with beautiful picturesque views, then you need to pay a visit to the Grand Hotel. Upon arrival you will be in awe of all the natural beauty around you. The workers are very friendly, always greeting you and holding doors upon for you. The staff can make or break an establishment and I must say that these workers deserve a 5 star! There are plenty of family fun activities for all ages, several places to eat on the resort, a pool(be aware that the pool bar/grill closes at 6 during the week which was bummer), a fitness center and a spa. We opted to have a couples massage. If you choose to have a service done at the spa, be sure to plan on spending a few hours there as it does have a hot tub, steam room, sauna, etc. Jennie was my masseuse and she was simply amazing! My only complaint would be the fitness center being so far away from some of the main buildings. I feel that there needed to be another one added to the other side of the resort, even if it is a smaller one. We would love to go back here again one day.

Yelp
In 35 years of travel and a Marriott Convoy member, simple ordering of room service amenities for a guest was unnecessarily painful. No one can take an order over the phone. One has to download menus, then get a online link to a PDF form and you must have a 24 hour notice for room service. I have never experienced that. Not at all what I would expect at an "Autograph Signature" property. The Grand is a great property but this was a painful, time consuming experience that was not needed and left a bitter taste. I was expecting more in service. For readers, simply be ware to spend a half hour or more to order and the 24 hour timeline.

Yelp
This resort is a fabulous spot to host a meeting, event or just to kick back and relax. The property is gorgeous and the resort has been updated/remodeled. I stayed in the Spa King Suite and it was perfect. The bathroom was the size of the rest of the room! I had a marina view and my bedroom was separate from the sitting space. The bed was so comfy. The food and drinks are very expensive but that's to be expected. The bubble up shrimp dip is delicious. Pizza is okay. Burger is okay. That is really the only food I can attest for except the buffets we had at our events. They were some of the best buffets I've ever had during a meeting. The staff goes above and beyond and is very nice. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I stayed at The Grand Hotel, and while the grounds were nice, the manager and the staff at Bayside Grill were dismissive and condescending.

Yelp
We love The Grand! Our favorite part is the fact that it feels like you are on vacation even though you are close to home. The pool is fantastic and the activities they have for all ages is great. The food is tasty (even if a bit expensive). Not really a fan of the interior decoration redo but I am a true Southern at heart!
