The Grand Mark Prague (Prague, Czech Republic) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A striking 200 year old listed building with a glass-topped atrium, a baroque archway and lovely courtyard gardens. Pass the top-hatted doorman into the sleek, modern interior filled with contemporary art. Many of the bedrooms are suites with kitchenettes. The restaurant has a cool, elegant feel and a modern menu." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed at The Grand Mark Prague as a family, booking three rooms – and every single one of us was absolutely thrilled with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. You can genuinely feel that each member of the staff is committed to making your stay perfect. Their attention to detail, kindness, and professionalism truly made us feel special. The rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed, and incredibly comfortable – everything we needed was there. Spotlessly clean, with thoughtful touches throughout. Breakfasts were outstanding – delicious, varied, and beautifully presented. A real highlight of the day. And the hotel’s private garden with peacocks? Simply magical. A peaceful oasis right in the heart of Prague. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a quiet moment surrounded by nature. We can’t recommend this hotel enough – everything was beyond our expectations. We will definitely be returning!

My stay at The Grand Mark Prague was absolutely exceptional. I stayed for two nights and was genuinely impressed by the service and attention to detail. One of the standout features was the in-room service — every time we stepped out, staff came in and replaced the used water bottles, coffee pods, and tea without us even asking. It’s rare to see such thoughtful, consistent service. The rooms are spacious, as are the bathrooms, and we were lucky enough to receive a complimentary room upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. Breakfast was another highlight. Unlike many hotels where you have to wait in line for items like omelets or pancakes, here you can simply place your order and it’s brought to your table — a small touch that made a big difference. The courtyard adds to the charm, with beautiful greenery and even peacocks walking around. Finally, the location is ideal — close enough to walk to the city center, yet tucked away just enough to be quiet and peaceful at night. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Prague and looking for comfort, quality, and a great location.

It is easy to see why The Grand Mark Prague is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. It is well situated being only a short stroll from the Powder Tower and the Astrological clock. All the staff were professional and extremely helpful. They seemed proud of the part they played in making guests feel at home. We stayed in one of their suites which was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated and included a small kitchenette. The hotel includes a large indoor lounge area where guests could relax after a busy day sightseeing and a lovely garden terrace complete with a family of peacocks. The buffet breakfast was exceptional and you had the option of ordering freshly cooked egg dishes if you wished. I would throughly recommend splashing out and staying at this exceptional hotel in Prague.

This hotel was definitely a great choice. It likely has some of the largest rooms in Prague, which is already a big plus. The staff were all extremely friendly and did a perfect job — whether in the restaurant, at the reception, housekeeping, or the bellman service, everyone was excellent. The room lacked virtually nothing, and if anything was missing, it was promptly brought to us with just a quick call to reception (e.g. iron and ironing board).||The food at ‘Le Grill’ was fantastic, both at lunch and breakfast. The hotel garden was very cozy, with piano music and a lovely peacock family adding to the charm.||I can highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Prague.

We stayed in this hotel for many years. Unfortunately the service quality has decreased a lot compared to the past years. The staff is friendly but mostly inexperienced. For a hotel in this price range not acceptable. The „2 steps“ bar has been closed and is now a restaurant. If u are looking to enjoy a few drinks better look for a place outside the hotel.

For sure, i had such an enjoyable stay at this hotel. From the rooms, to service, to location everything is brilliant. But definitely shat stands out to me the most is Bilal. A heartwarming doorman that would always make sure we would never forget anything, he would bring my family cold water bottles on hot days, and give us recommendations in the city. He is just amazing and wonderful to talk to.

A beautiful hotel, luxury with a friendly ambience. We stayed in a suite as a family of 4 and it was very nice. They left some teddy bears for the kids and every day they left some edible gift, which was a lovely touch. The terrace outside was lovely to sit in at any time of day and the peacocks are very cool wandering around. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and good food. We particularly enjoyed the live piano player in the evening.

We stayed at The Grand Mark Prague for two nights after our honeymoon – and it was the perfect closing chapter to our special trip. The hotel is absolutely stunning, both outside and inside. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly clean. The spa area was so relaxing – a true escape in the middle of the city. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and the location couldn’t be better – right in the heart of Prague but still quiet and peaceful. Thank you for such a memorable experience!

Yelp
There is only one word that can describe The Grand Mark Prague Hotel and its staff: Flawless. My wife and I have traveled through Europe, Mexico and the states multiple times and have stayed at five star hotels such as Ritz, Fairmont, Four Seasons, SLS, JW Marriott, etc. This was our first time staying at an LHW affiliated hotel. We booked a Grand Deluxe Suite through AMEX Platinum travel for 10 nights and we were extremely impressed with the suite, quality of the furniture, and its amenities, everything was perfect. The cleanliness of this hotel is truly unbelievable. I tried my hardest to find any dust, but it was impeccable. The breakfast buffet, the made to order breakfast, and other food are also exceptional. And the staff are superlative: they are super professional, helpful and friendly. Overall, this is the best experience we have ever had with a hotel staff. We got to know them by first name. Bilal is the most professional and friendly hotel porter we have ever dealt with. In addition to the concierge, Bilal was very knowledgeable about the local events, provided excellent recommendations and helped us with local transportation. He spoke six languages (and here I was, proud of myself for speaking three), I would say Bilal worths his weight in gold. And on top of that, Olexandra, Clara and Andrea at the reception desk attended to every need we had. Our breakfast and the Spa staff also provided outstanding service, I recall Treza and Lucy; however, there were several others that we really appreciated their service. We had such a great experience that my wife, for the first time ever, wrote a thank you letter and handed it to the manager. And finally, the location is perfect. It is far enough from the crowd, yet only a 10-minute walk from the old town and 20-minute walk from the river. Getting around is also super easy, and there are at least five great restaurants within 50 feet from the hotel. You can also use Uber, Bolt (less expensive than Uber) or the metro system to get around. We mostly used Bolt and tried the metro system once just to experience it. The metro system was very efficient and clean. Overall, it was simply an exceptional experience in all ways.

Yelp
Excellent hotel. Absolutely beautiful garden area. We ate at the restaurant and it was excellent. Staff was so attentive and accommodating. Our room was spectacular. King room w 1 and 1/2 bath living room and a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates was the icing on the cake. Very romantic setting. The breakfast one of the best! Lobby absolutely beautiful.

Yelp
Excellent location right of the Old Town Square. Great service. Trendy hip decor. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. The daily room cleaning was okay - a little inconsistent. I had an Executive Suite which had a separate living area and mini-kitchen and a huge balcony with a view that you could throw a party on. All rooms include breakfast and it's a spread. Not your standard "free" breakfast. It's a full buffet with omelettes waffles and all.

Yelp
This hotel is lacking so much. This once great property is falling apart in so many ways. FIRST, the service is so far from luxury it is shocking! THE LIES, THE LACK OF BASIC SKILLS, THE SHADY business practices! Now for the details, this hotel was once the Kempinski Prague, and with the name goes the service and the knowledge on how to manage a fine luxury hotel. I booked this property as an American Express Fine Hotel and Resort, this hotel needs to be removed from that program, I have already reached out to my contacts at American Express, more on that later. The check in process was a total shit show, first off the front desk is located in the center of the stairwell there is no room for more than 2 people to check in at a time, and that is tight. There is no lobby it is a hallway with the world's slowest lifts. It is a grid lock of people. Not to mention some type of movie was being filmed in the hotel and there was equipment and people all around, the guest were treated like they were in the way. Even though a perk of booking with AMEX is that you get an early check in, guess what nope, also should get an upgrade, I got the room I booked the Duplex suite, I was told it was an upgrade. LIE #1. I asked when the room would be ready, I was told after 3, but more like 4. WHAT? Check in time for the hotel is 3. I asked for my bags to be stored, at this point they are on a cart in the small, congested check in area. The door man just left them there.. I was told he will take care of it. I waited for the door man to arrive back and I asked him if the bags would be locked up. He said, if you wish, yes. At this point I think the bags are going to be locked up I ran to the restroom only to return to see my bags still sitting on a cart in the middle of all these people, and this door man doing something for the movie crew. I stood by the bags and he then ran over and put them in a room, later to find out is the front desk office that is under the steps. Hours later when I return to see if the room is ready this small area is filled with peoples bags unlocked just sitting there. There is ZERO attention for your things at this hotel DO NOT TRUST THEM! ALSO THEY WOULD NOT TAKE MY AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD for room charges and extras, remember this hotel is part of the AMEX fine hotels and resort collection and they made up a story that the card machine cannot take AMEX! The staff were just there, nothing that would impress you, and really, they just depressed me. I know the hotel is in a non-English speaking land, but English skills should be found on the guest facing staff. IT WAS NOT! The English proficiency was bad. I found the worst was in the restaurant, of the outside area full of bugs and birds and the smell of cigarette smoke. It took over 15 minutes for anyone to come to my table, then once I ordered my drink it took 22 minutes to arrive. I also ordered food and it was not great at all. I wanted a second drink from the bar but the waitress could not understand, Vodka Neat, she said Ok... and then the bill arrived. Here is shady-ness part 2. Part of my booking I get $100 USD credit for food and drink, so I wanted to charge to my room. I was told 201 is not your room, I was like here is the key and my stuff is in that room. She said you must pay with card! NO! After some back and forth and checking, she said you don't have to sign anything just go. Then the MOST shocking thing, as I was leaving the hotel at the front door in plain sight there was a list of all the check in guest for the day, with FULL NAMES, and ROOM Numbers. This was located very close to the street but also in the open, not behind a counter. Your personal information is just out in the open. So as a test, I went to the desk, at this point different staff was working and I said I lost my key card. Gave my name and room number and they handed me a key, no ID check. So if you want to see what is in the rooms at the Grand Mark in Prague, walk in the front door look at the list of names and room numbers, walk to the desk give them a name and room number and get a key! When it was time for check out, I had to carry my 2 large bags down the steps as the movie crew was using both lifts for something and would not let me near them.

Yelp
Absolutely loved staying here on a weekend away with my husband and pup. The staff were amazing, the hotel was lovely, the food was good, and the drinks were great! To start, the staff - cannot say enough things about how wonderful the staff were. Every time we had our pup with us they brought her water and said hello. When she wasn't with us, they were still rockstars. Have to do a special shout out to Ciprian who made it his mission to personally take care of us the whole weekend. It was my husband's birthday and Ciprian helped pick out the perfect scotch and made us feel welcomed like family. He was there when we got to breakfast and there when we had our nightcap - always with a smile and always doing everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. You're in good hands here. Our room was the duplex suite and it was beautifully appointed with 2 couches downstairs, a small eating area (with coffee, tea, water, and mini bar), a half bathroom downstairs, and upstairs a full bathroom with separate HUGE tub, and a giant bed that we could get lost in! The room was lovely and we were glad we booked it, it even came with an anti-COVID kit of some masks, disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer! A couple of minor drawbacks were that the upstairs got a little warm and the AC sometimes struggled to keep it fully comfortable. We considered requesting a fan from the concierge, but it never got so hot we felt the need to. Just mildly uncomfy sometimes. Also, the water from the shower smelled a little funky at times. Despite these annoyances, this was still a 5 star stay (did you see what I had to say about the service?). The food was good, albeit we only ever had breakfast at the hotel because we were otherwise too busy exploring. We could eat from the buffet, or order a few items (like eggs or waffles). We got the eggs Benedict and OMG. Probably the best eggs Benni we've ever had. The sauce lightly lemony, the eggs perfectly poached. So good. The rest of the buffet was normally winding down when we would come down so we would get maybe some potatoes or baked goods. They did have scrambled eggs, normally a meat protein, an assortment of pastries, and typically some granola and yogurt. The bar was a full bar and we enjoyed having a night cap and getting to chat with the staff when the evening was drawing to a close. A big thank you to the hotel for the lovely surprise birthday cake in our room on my husband's birthday. The garden also has a family of peacocks living there, which were fun to watch walk around!

Yelp
As my first overseas hotel experience, The Grand Mark Prague was a true delight. We were immediately greeted by friendly, helpful staff who informed us that although our room wasn't ready, they'd be happy to seat us in their garden restaurant area and provide a complimentary drink for us to enjoy until then. I had my first taste of the beloved Praha tradition that is Pilsner, and I knew that I was going to love it here. Once our room became available (roughly 2 hours early, which was an unexpected delight), we entered to discover a spacious and luxurious main room and bathroom. Everything about this room was a delight, even the courtyard view which looked upon the glass-covered seating area. The bed was very comfortable, and the linens/comforters were perfect - not too hot, not too cool. We did discover a problem with our towel heating rack, but the staff had this fixed for us while we were out discovering all that Prague has to offer. Much to our surprise, hotel staff made several visits to our room over the course of our stay to deliver gifts such as cookies, which felt really special. The European breakfast was delicious. In addition to made-to-order omelettes and the buffet options of hard boiled/scrambled, they will make your favorite egg dish at request with no additional fee. I chose the eggs Benedict and it was delicious! Guests can also help themselves to an unlimited amount of fresh juices, milk, coffee, tea, espresso, and even Prosecco to make mimosas. We had dinner at the hotel one night (be aware that most area restaurants close early, ~8pm) and it was DELICIOUS. The chef sent out a sweet and savory amuse-bouche which included duck and a flavorful chutney. I cannot recall specifically what our main dish was called, but it was a very flavorful pork with potato and sprouts. I enjoyed another Pilsner which, although not gratis this time, was VERY reasonably priced at 95Kč - not something you'd expect at a 5-Star hotel. In order to get the most out of Prague, we wanted to take a tour of some kind. After reaching out to the concierge, we were set up with a private walking tour from a company called Lucy Tours. The gentleman that led our tour is named Jaroslav and he was AWESOME. He had a wealth of knowledge to share and was very enthusiastic about Praha. After the tour was over, we spent additional time together at Czech Castle enjoying another Pilsner and sheltering from the rain. Such a wonderful experience. We feel as though we truly have a friend in Prague. When our stay came to an end, the concierge arranged for transport to the train station and we were on our way to Munich in no time. When we come back to Prague, we will definitely stay at The Grand Mark.

Yelp
A great hotel with a beautiful garden where you are allowed to eat in (Watch out for the peacock though). The staff is friendly, mostly bilingual, and make sure you have clean water every night. But I did have to ask multiple times for a converter to charge my phone. Also I did have trouble with a lot of the outlets not working on my laptop or phone but it could have just been my cables. Our room is a suite and has plenty of space and it's well furnished. I did hear from other guests who had suites that they didn't have a lot of space and some had more. So know that all rooms in the Mark aren't created equal. I did overall love my stay and I was being nitpicky. Would totally come back next time I'm in town

Yelp
We checked into The Grand Mark Prague when we came to Prague for a night. The is such a overall great hotel that I recommend it to anyone traveling into Prague. It's very close to the train station and within walking distance to all the tourist attractions. Prague is a small city so you can get around town when you stay at this hotel. Hotel staff was very friendly when we checked in and the concierge went out of his way to help us with a situation we had with a tour company. When we checked into our room we were very pleased with the room layout, the bathroom and all the added amenities that were included especially the Nespresso machine with capsules. We also were greeted with some delicious cookies that literally disappeared instantly. The hotel has a very nice back patio and restaurant and you can really have a nice relaxing evening just hanging out.

Yelp
This was a beautiful hotel. The lobby was really lovely and the room (which was upgraded to a suite upon our arrival for no apparent reason!) was wonderful. Probably the nicest hotel I've stayed at. The suite had separate living room and bedroom areas. Furnished and decorated in a very classy and modern manner. The bathroom was top notch - had a large shower and a separate tub. Also had a heated floor (HEAVEN!) and a heated towel rack (LESS HEAVENLY BUT STILL NICE). The service was friendly and accommodating. There was one night that we called them for a car pick-up from a bar so that was helpful. THERE'S ONE THING. The experience would have been perfect (5 stars) but there was one snag that I need to mention. One evening, at probably 9 or 10pm, my boyfriend and I were getting it on in the bed (it was kind of awkward in the bathtub). Anyway, suddenly I heard a click so I hopped off and pulled a blanket over myself. Note: the room door opened to a little hallway so you couldn't see the door from the bedroom. Anyway, right after the click, we heard a voice say: "HELLO?" So we both said: "HELLO....?" We were kind of freaked out/shocked. Suddenly, some dude walked in to the living room/kitchen area. We were kind of frozen, under blankets - this all happened very quickly. He said: "You didn't call the reception area?" Us: "No." He lingered a bit, staring at us and then left. We were both a bit shocked and obviously this totally killed the moment - how do you go back to having sex after that? So we started formulating various theories. BF: "He's a pervert. He gets off on this sort of thing." ME: "He does this in every room. The possibility of a threesome invite increases exponentially when you invade more rooms." BF: "Maybe he's a thief that looks for unoccupied rooms to pillage." ANYWAY, we were both kind of stressed and felt violated so we went to get some fried cheese and mulled wine. When we stopped by the front desk the next morning, this is how it went down. BF: "Hey. So. Last night, my girlfriend and I were getting intimate and some guy burst in saying we called reception. It was very uncomfortable." FRONT DESK LADY ACCOMPANIED BY FRONT DESK GUY: [Understandingly nodding] "Yeah, we know, sorry. He's an engineer. We sent him to the wrong room, we meant to send him to an empty room next door" [stares at us, blankly] BF: "OK, thanks." So, it was nice to know he wasn't a total pervert predator or a professional burglar. However, let's think about this. The guy is looking for an empty room. Once he enters the hallway, he sees bags on the table and hears voices from the bedroom area and he still barges in, without asking "CAN I COME IN?" Not sure why he'd even need to proceed if he thought he was entering an empty room.... Then he sees us obviously naked under the covers and stands there all confused, staring. It was just inappropriate. And the front desk staff. I am not a freeloader but I think that if you mess up this bad and make your guests this uncomfortable, you should at least offer something to your guests to say sorry. Even a drink voucher would have been nice. Anything. My boyfriend and I? We haven't had sex since the incident...... JUST KIDDING!!! Anyway, great hotel with some questionable employees.

Yelp
Great hotel in a beautiful city of Praha, Czech Republic. Excellent multi lingual staff made the stay as pleasant as the surroundings. Steps from the heart of the city, yet an oasis of privacy and civility.

Tina M.

Yelp
This is a wonderful hotel located at the outskirts of the Old Town by 2 blocks. I stayed in a suite here and it was more like an apartment. The food was good but the accommodations were the best I have ever stayed in.

M C.

Yelp
I do not recommend this hotel, due to unhygienic practices in the restaurant and also revenue practices that are designed to eek out last minute profits (while upsetting guests who've paid full prices). While the hotel's revenue strategies may be appealing to last minute/nonluxury category travelers, they will be frustrating to those who book early or are willing to pay for higher category amenities. If you must stay here, I have some information about this hotel's revenue strategies so you get the best value for your money. 1. The hotel's location and rooms are great. That said, there are many great hotels in Prague near Old town with the same location, and you can get them with much better value/service. If you want a luxury experience, the Four Seasons will be the right choice with better quality control. I wished we had stayed there. 2. If you must stay here, do not pre-book your room in advance. We pre-booked, expecting a best value situation, usually the case at every other hotel we've stayed at. This hotel's prices repeatedly and dramatically fluctuate so the price we booked at originally was nearly half the price of the original rate we booked at, and you'll not be allowed to rebook it. I've booked hundreds of top hotels and ive never seen these types of price fluctuations. Like any normal person, we came--not looking forward to the vacation--just feeling upset having overpaid and feeling ripped off. My advice to future travelers: book a refundable rate, and continually cancel and rebook until you get the cheapest price. This behavior is not desirable for the hotel but it is exactly what their pricing strategy incents you to do. 3. Do not expect basic courtesies from the management. Even though our rate ended up being $100 more than the rate at which they would have offered us a courtesy airport transfer, we were refused that courtesy due to the fact that we had prebooked (at the more expensive rate). 4. Purchase only the most basic rooms. At the hotel, there is a sign offering last minute upgrades to top suites for a fraction of the price you will pay online (20-40 euro). Imagine how you would have felt if you had paid several hundred for those rooms. 5. Do not purchase a room with breakfast or eat at the restaurant due to unsanitary conditions. The restaurant is open air and I understand there will be insects. However, many food items are left uncovered so they are full of flies--unappetizing. 6. As such, my daughter was served soup with a dead fly for dinner. Server's first response was to defend it and say she was wrong. When she saw it was a fly, she apologized and prepared another soup (nothing offered in response-- charged us for the soup as well). 7. Server was snacking on food to be served to guests (multiple times). Absolutely not befitting any five star restaurant. 8. When we mentioned these issues, we were offered a transfer to the airport (which we could not use) and a dinner (which we also could not use as we had a package that came with a food credit and did not want to use given the lack of basic sanitation there. When I requested that they simply honor their own best rate, they told me they had already "given" me with an upgrade and breakfast (which I had in fact paid for through a membership program!) It was completely unacceptable to be informed you were "given" something you have paid for yourself.

Yelp
Just spent three nights at 'The Mark"hotel in Prague. Great staff, rooms and food. Luxury!!! Hope to stay here on any future visits to Prague!!

Yelp
Second time in Prague but first time at the Mark Hotel. Found it superior in many ways to the Prague Four Seasons. And much better value. Nice room, good service and beautiful garden to eat or drink. Great location, nice walk to Old Town Center, Charles Bridge, Jewish Quarter. Food was ok for breakfast and service is good but not great.
