I really loved the vibe of this hostel. The breakfast was delicious, with authentic Lebanese flavors, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Both the room and the bathroom were spotless. The room’s soundproofing could be improved, as I could hear the generator running during the night.

Arrived from Burkina Faso for a study visit on Lebanese agricultural cooperativism. We received a wonderful welcome from your hotel staff, and the rooms had everything we needed for a good rest. However, the best part was definitely the breakfast, rich and typical of Lebanese tradition. Thank you so much, we hope to visit you again in the future.

Amazing hotel, staff were really friendly and professional. Michel and the colleague who looks like a young Freddie Mercury were great. They arranged fairly priced taxi services (travelling solo I'm always ripped off)||Breakfast is lovely homemade Lebanese food and the bar area is chill. It's right next to St Nicholas stairs and artsy gourd area. Great stay ❤🇱🇧

My Son and I had a wonderful time. We were on the top floor and so enjoyed being in Gemmayze. We were visiting family, and the location was perfect for being able to explore all morning, enjoying The Grand Meshmosh for our siesta, and feel safe returning at night. My only regret is that we did not spend enough time at the restaurant downstairs which I'm sure had fabulous food judging from our breakfasts. The staff were lively and sweet, it felt like we were being cared for as family. I had help arranging drivers for when we went out of town, and for pickup from the airport. Truly our stay here is what made our time in Lebanon feel seamless and we can't wait to return.

Great hostel except no kitchen. Also found it strange that the female dorm was placed between where the male staff go to access the washing machine whereas the other dorm seemed more private. every 15 mins there would be a man knocking on the door to warn he was coming in, i thought that was quite odd seeing as i booked a female dorm. the staff would also randomly come into the dorm to just walk through and have a peek when no one was there but me and this happened a few times. The shower door was also see through which was concerning, especially because the blind covering the laundry area was also see through. Overall reception was nice and i did get a fattoush from the restaurant which was good. the area is an expensive area, with nice cafes and restaurants, but expensive.

I absolutely loved my time here and even stayed twice during my latest month-long trip to Lebanon. The place has a special quality that makes it feel just like home. The location is perfect. It’s peacefully tucked away from the street, so you get all the quiet you need, but it's still right in the middle of vibrant Gemmayze. You can easily walk to Mar Mikhael and downtown, which is perfect for exploring. I stayed in a private room and it was fantastic—very comfortable, quiet, and spotless. The bed was comfy, and having a great breakfast included was a perfect way to start the day. The food served in the restaurant is delicious, and they have a great selection of drinks. It's the ideal spot to spend some relaxed time with friends, and I also found it easy and enjoyable to meet new people. What makes this place truly stand out is the people. The owner and people who work there are all so welcoming, friendly and attentive. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and are always up for a nice chat. Their hospitality is what makes this spot so special. I'll be coming back for sure!

Was a little tricky to find but not that difficult. The hotel is quite charming and has a really nice bar. The dorms itself was quite clean but the bathrooms outside the dorms left more to be desired. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is really the gem. It is in a nice area to explore

There are a couple of things you should know - it is in a lively area however it’s not a traditional or Orginal Lebanese area at all, eg coffee starts at 5 dollar whereas a normal Lebanese breakfast or snack starts at 0.8 dollars - You are surrounded by food places and places to drink, fancy and expensive - The place is more a hotel than anything else: putting your clothes on the balcony is forbidden, bring food from outside is forbidden (you are supposed to eat in the restaurant downstairs) - There is no chair, not in the room nor on the balcony - so sitting on the balcony is also not appreciated; to me this qualifies as hotel but not as hostel. This is also fine as long as you are aware - No towels compared to all the other budget hostels I have been to in Lebanon, however free water - In the first female dorm no door that can be locked, whoever is sleeping in the second dorm is lucky and has more privacy - Next to the women’s dorm there is the washing machine. Again it would not be a problem if a) the dorm for women had a door b) the person who is constantly getting through the women’s bathroom would knock or c) they switch with the men’s dorm as it was always a man coming in for the laundry; in the picture you can see the green door to the stairway and the photo is taken out of the first women’s dorm; the black door is the one to the balcony where the washing machine is, right next to it in the right side it’s the the women’s bathroom - meaning if men come in they can directly see you in the shower - Staff is general supportive if asked but very much focused and caring about the elderly women constantly drinking wine (no offense), during 7 days stay no proper proactive exchange on hidden gems, insights or recommendations, also I founded it weird that my roommate and I as long stay guests did not get invited for the pub quiz - WiFi is not working at all in the female dorm, be aware - indeed a no go compared to the price per night
