This place is pretty horrific - we stayed there a few years ago and it looks like they have only gotten worse - I’ve only been looking as I have to head Griffith again. This place is horrific and when we stayed there the room had not been cleaned and there was tobacco all over the room, dried poo on the blanket and no apologies just indifference. The “gym” was just a fitness dungeon and smelled like mould- and when I went the garage was filled with with old furniture and it looks like with recent reviews the furniture is still there…..

I appreciated the internal room with no external window for what it was as i liked the quiet solitude. All amenities such as microwave, fridge toaster cutlery and crockery etc were as I expected for my stay of 10 nights. The air con worked fine although it was a bit noisy. The bed was very comfortable. Other issues I had unfortunately in the negative were that the toilet had a faulty flush mechanism, the room's desk chair had loose joints and car parking was tight. If you arrived back late you missed out on a space. Their was a lot of stuff such as old furniture, trailers, machinery and dusty stored cars taking up car spaces that should be for clientele. Not a good look for an establishment marketing itself as four star.

We stayed in room 12. Wow. The shower head keeps falling off its holder, the screaming sound from the taps is next level, about 15% of parking spots are taken up with old furniture, building materials and a tow truck making it difficult to find a spot and the lack of proper windows makes it feel like your sleeping on the foot path. Not to mention we had to call the office at midnight due to the neighbours being extremely noisy. On a positive note the rooms were fine and everything worked ok except for the shower.

After stays at more than 17 hotels and motels as we travelled from Frankston South (Victoria) to Clifton Beach (Qld) and back we were pleasantly surprised with the personal assistance Shane provided on our arrival (on Thursday 21st August 2025). I might add that on most stays, we had booked a queen room (received confirmation that we had booked a deluxe queen room) and found that we had in fact paid for a queen room but were on arrival designated a double room. The Grand Motel in Griffith was not one of those - we experienced exactly what we had requested. We were provided with directions for easy access to the ground floor car park where the car park space was adjacent to the lift making the transfer of luggage very easy - a small trolly was made available to assist us with the transfer of luggage to our room. |Shane provided helpful advice concerning meals. We had cause to seek mechanical advice and Shane was able to direct us to competent mechanics at Brett's Mechanical Repairs. The room was clean, the TV provided for our needs, the shower was excellent and the king bed was superb. We would stay here again.

Very central with reasonable room. Terrible pillows but bed was OK. Internal room with no window and skylight above bed. Difficult to regulate temp due to noisy fan and below average air conditioner. Flick mixer in bathroom sink plumbed in reverse and delivered hot water when turned to the right. Carpet squares in hallway lifting and trip hazard.

This motel is lacking some attention to detail and friendly customer service. The shower keeps falling off its holder, the vanity is worn out, the carpark looks like a dumpster of old furniture and building materials taking up parking spots.

After travelling six hours from Sydney we were expecting a warm comfortable room, far from it.The reverse cycle Air Con did not work at all, the room was so cold we had to ask for two heavy blankets, my wife slept with her woollen cardigan. The manager tried to convince us that the Air Con had to be reset and replaced it with a small three bar oil heater, useless. The pool and spa area is located in the lower ground floor, zero welcoming atmosphere, cold, low ceiling, dark and only available upon request. The spa in the room was as noisy as a jet taking off and not all jets were functioning, very uncomfortable, impossible to relax. The room was unwelcoming, boring and the rusted bars outside the windows matched the rusted and mildewed aluminium window frames. Definitely will not recommend it to any future travellers. |We did ask for a refund when we checked out expressing our disappointment but only if we wrote an email to the owners of the hotels obviously our complaint was not passed on from the manager to the owners, a very care less attitude.

This place looks like it’s straight out of the 60s and not in a good way. Everything’s old, dirty, smelly and everything is damaged. Definitely not worth the money. Oh, and don’t expect any windows in your room just a dodgy skylight.
