After travelling six hours from Sydney we were expecting a warm comfortable room, far from it.The reverse cycle Air Con did not work at all, the room was so cold we had to ask for two heavy blankets, my wife slept with her woollen cardigan. The manager tried to convince us that the Air Con had to be reset and replaced it with a small three bar oil heater, useless. The pool and spa area is located in the lower ground floor, zero welcoming atmosphere, cold, low ceiling, dark and only available upon request. The spa in the room was as noisy as a jet taking off and not all jets were functioning, very uncomfortable, impossible to relax. The room was unwelcoming, boring and the rusted bars outside the windows matched the rusted and mildewed aluminium window frames. Definitely will not recommend it to any future travellers. |We did ask for a refund when we checked out expressing our disappointment but only if we wrote an email to the owners of the hotels obviously our complaint was not passed on from the manager to the owners, a very care less attitude.

Clean and beautiful rooms, beds are very comfortable. Shower was amazing very clean. Under cover parking also very central location to all restaurants and pubs. | Would stay again if in this area, happy with this service only one small disappointment the shutters on sky light would not open But over all a perfect motel

We recently stayed at The Grand Hotel in Griffith. Firstly, what a great location! This hotel has the potential to be a diamond in the rough, but unfortunately, it was nothing but rough! Two minutes after booking, I messaged the hotel to ask about a balcony apartment, as my partner is a smoker. I received a response saying that it was fine and would be sorted at no extra charge……. When we arrived, the room was an enclosed space with no windows, just a single filthy skylight. We had to contact reception to open or close the blinds, etc. (To be honest, I’m not sure how this meets fire safety standards.) When we spoke to reception, they blamed it on booking.com responding to us, not them! We decided to let it go and not worry about it, as we're pretty easygoing people. We headed back to our room and proceeded to unpack. Unfortunately, The room was dirty, with food marks on the walls. The sheets were clean but stained yellow and needed a good bleaching. We then discovered, they only provided us with one towel, and when we asked for another, the manager insisted on bringing it himself and placing it in the bathroom, almost as if he were checking that we weren’t lying. Next, we headed downstairs to the spa... what a disgrace. The spa was filled with filthy water that smelled bad (not like chlorine). When we spoke to the manager, he said he had just added chlorine. As a pool owner, I was completely disgusted! Then I went to the gym… if you could even call it that. The room was in the basement, had no air conditioning, and was stifling hot—exactly what you want when you're working out, right? At this point I was thinking, maybe they should advertise it as a sauna instead of a gym..... The walking machine was so flimsy and old, it was squeaking and felt like it was going to fall apart under me. After 15 minutes, I moved to the stair climber, which seemed a little more sturdy. Sadly, it was just for show and didn’t work; the light wouldn’t illuminate, so I couldn’t change any settings. So if you're a serious about working out .....this definitely isn't the place for you! We decided to give this hotel a try, but I certainly won’t be coming back or recommending it to any of our tradies in the future. It’s such a shame because it really did have potential, and with these issues corrected, it could have been a regular weekly accommodation for my partner, who has been traveling to the area for the past 15 years and stays at hotels Monday to Thursday every week!

It was very disappointing the lock up garage had old furniture and old cars in it. The room was old and tied and could do with a good revamp and the Bedding and Towels where stained and not clean. A key box at the car park would be so much easier than having to drop it of at reception.

Great location, clean, tidy and easy access. Check in was friendly and seamless. The room was a great size, all on the first floor so easy access and limited stairs (could have used the lift). Highly recommend. Located on the main street so 15 mins walk from everything tops.

Great place to stay, right in the centre of town. Walking distance to restaurants and pubs was ideal. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom, and spotlessly clean.|Beds were very comfy. Underground secure parking was definitely appreciated.

The Grand Hotel was like a once grand dame that has let herself go. When you catch the lift to the first floor you're immediately assaulted by really strong fake scent defuser, that for sure must be masking some terrible odour. The room was nice enough, good beds and plenty of towels. Small kitchenette was basics covered. We picked this place because of the indoor pool and gym, and this is where the Grand has really dropped the ball. The pool is covered and when you lift the cover it's filled with musty smelling and weird coloured water. The reception assured us he will "switch it on" for us if we cared to use it. No thank you. Unless you would like to get some weird skin infection. The GYM. If you could call a dungeon like room that; complete with black mould on the walls and rust infected flimsy ancient machines strewn about the place. So much rust. It could all be forgiven, if it wasn't for the brazen sign at front advertising, rooms with spa, indoor pool, gym and sauna. What sauna? Luckily, the man at reception encouraged us to use the local aquatic centre across to road that proved to be very adequate. He knows what's up 😉 The Grand is adequate. But so is any other much cheaper highway motel.

Unfortunately the bed mattress was so bad I didn't sleep well and my wife experience the same. It was broken for sure. Or very old. The rest was good.
