I've been to two shows here, and it is a very nice venue, beautifully restored. It is not really very large, so even though I always spring for the orchestra seats, I'm sure the view from the balcony is good as well. Ushers appear to be volunteers, but reasonably helpful (it's not a big place, so hard to get lost). Though if I say I know where my seats are, I promise, you don't have to walk me down there anyway!
Bonus for the boyfriend, you can bring drinks inside the theater, so he can enjoy a cocktail with the show. I pick up my tickets at will call and have never had any issues. FYI, the seats are a "historical" size, aka a bit small and close together. Don't be afraid of your neighbor. Oh, and street parking is readily available, no issues there.
What I really want is more events/shows here. After seeing Godspell, I checked their website for the fall schedule, but as of now, there's still nothing there! I would happily buy some tickets in advance if I knew what was going on... I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
