The Grand Oshkosh

Went to hadestown. It was really good! The theater itself is gorgeous. I do have to say though, the chairs are rather small. I'm on the skinnier side but I'm really tall so it was kinda awkward to sit in. Overall the place is really cool, easy to navigate.

Nice hotel, comfy bed and nice modern room. Love the free parking and friendly staff. I was the guest of the day which came with access to the M Club. Basic breakfast offerings, but the quality was high! Best complimentary hotel eggs and sausage ever! Plus Deanna was a fabulous and welcoming host at the M Club breakfast. Lobby bar was also good. Our bartender Ben was friendly and clued us into the free snacks in the M Club. All around great stay.

Duran Decade show was Great! Nice acoustics here.

It's a beautiful theater with lots of character. They have done a nice job keeping things as original as possible. Just beware you may want to avoid balcony seats if you are over 6 ft. as your knees might be in the head of the person in front. Pick the front row or the center section with tables for more comfortable seating.

Venue beautiful. Show not so much, Duran Decade. Not everyone was up and moving so made it awkward. Also can only get limited drinks menu before and at intermission. Not the best night out. But venue is amazing just not for that kinda show

Just saw the Steely Dane concert. What a great night of classic rock. The venue is beautiful. No a better description is a classic theater like in the days of opera houses in the 20s...1920s that is. Only complaint the seats are hard and are a little uncomfortable for a 2 hour concert. Bring a cusion.

Came for Girl's Night Out, the musical. Difficult to understand actresses, no parking available. It was an amateur production at best. I needed a handicap parking spot, but the 3-4 they have were full a half hour prior to the show. The atmosphere of The Grand is beautiful, unfortunately, the entertainment was lacking.

Beautiful historic theater. Terrific staff. Nice spot for live performances or private events.

My husband and I recently attended The Pink Floyd Tribute, "Wish you were Floyd" They were fantastic! The best tribute band I ever saw. If anyone ever gets a chance to hear them...go!

A fine and comfortable refurbished theater with great acoustics and very nice staff. A great place to take in quality entertainment! And if it's haunted like they say, it must be haunted by Caspar the friendly ghost because the vibe is happy and positive.

I can't wait for October and that's mainly because haunted happenings is returning to The Grand Oshkosh! The event runs all month long in October, and with all the history in the grand Oshkosh leaves a lot to the imagination as far as what happened in the past and what ghosts still remain there. Check out the website for more details they will have famous tv magicians throughout the month. They will have special ghost tours and much more.

Want to take in a bit of culture in Oshkosh? This is probably your best bet. This early 20th century building itself is a marvel if you are into design and architecture of the period. It has been renovated in recent history (2010 I believe), and is a wonderful example of the ambiance and sophistication which was popular at the time. The building aside, the shows that are put on here have yet to disappoint. This is an overused cliche I suppose, but there really "isn't a bad seat in the house". Even upper balcony seating seems quaint and intimate. I have taken in numerous shows here, most recently Shrek the musical, and the performances have always been wonderful. They have an online box office where you can check out upcoming events, and the variety is awesome. For example, Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest" is an upcoming show, then the following month they have a Jim Belushi stand up comedy gig. If you are up for a night out in Oshkosh that does not involve bar dice and a game of darts, the Grand is a great alternative.

I've been to two shows here, and it is a very nice venue, beautifully restored. It is not really very large, so even though I always spring for the orchestra seats, I'm sure the view from the balcony is good as well. Ushers appear to be volunteers, but reasonably helpful (it's not a big place, so hard to get lost). Though if I say I know where my seats are, I promise, you don't have to walk me down there anyway! Bonus for the boyfriend, you can bring drinks inside the theater, so he can enjoy a cocktail with the show. I pick up my tickets at will call and have never had any issues. FYI, the seats are a "historical" size, aka a bit small and close together. Don't be afraid of your neighbor. Oh, and street parking is readily available, no issues there. What I really want is more events/shows here. After seeing Godspell, I checked their website for the fall schedule, but as of now, there's still nothing there! I would happily buy some tickets in advance if I knew what was going on... I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
