I used to stay here a lot over the years. Pricing has gone up and the level of service has changed. I did 2 day passes this week and enjoyed the property. The expansion to include all 4 resorts allows for a big area and different places to hang out and chill. They have obviously done some improvements and it shows. The bar area tucked in the back seems like an odd place. It's the little things like having water out but not refreshing the ice was warm. Staff used to walk around and interact with guests, bringing out popsicles or cool towels -didn't see that happening. The afternoon happy hours with free apps and drinks built community. The Grand used to be the crown jewel, now no one was hanging up front by the pool or back by the spa. Need some "events" like the happy hour to come back

First off, we checked into our room. The room looked clean but smelled like mold, there was no hot water, the a/c wouldn't keep up at all, the drain to the shower was backing up, and the plug on the sink was broken. I can usually live with one or two of the items on the list, but decided we needed to bring it to the attention of the front desk. After speaking with them, they were kind enough to move us to another room in another building. This room had the same thing with the a/c not keeping up, my partner and I both still could smell mold, the towel bars and shower curtain would fall off the wall every time we used them, and the toilet would need to be adjusted so the tank would fill back up at every use. We thought, you know what! We will just make the best of it. || We went for a walk and explored the grounds. The grounds were kept neat and tidy. All patrons were very friendly, and we felt comfortable. |Day two we head down for some cocktails and pool time. The menu clearly states $16.00 per drink. We figure when on vacation and in a big city, no big deal. We order and charge to our room as the instructions say. The bartender rings it through and charges 20.00 per drink. I let it fly as I am not normally one to complain. We continued on to our 2nd drink of the day and the same went through, 20 dollar per drink charge. My husband then asks the question if the charge is correct or if we are missing something. The bartender then corrects it to 16.00 per drink.|| Day 3 and it was pool and cocktail time again. We are there to have fun and meet new friends. We go to order drinks and the same 20.00 per drink charge comes through. I then ask the bartender why he is charging 20.00 per drink when the menu states 16.00. His response was. It is a service fee and taxes. That is a 25% tax/service fee. This seems excessive in any world. I maybe can see it if we are in a 5 star resort, but this resort is about as far from 5 stars as you can get.|| We stayed a couple more days and made the best of our surroundings, meeting very great people and had wonderful conversations. We were able to get out and explore the local establishments and see the scenic views.|| On the final day we go to check out. They print the final bill. The number of service charges and resort fees is astounding. Plus, when you add the liquor charges up, add the fees and taxes in, they still come to well over 20.00 a drink. I asked the gentleman at the front desk about the fees and what was the deal with the drink charges. He said the fees are correct, and then showed a picture of the trip advisor website to voice any concerns. || I am sad to say, we visit Florida a couple times a year. We have been to Orlando, Ft, Meyers, Sanibel Island, Miami, Clear Water, and Key West. Most of these cities numerous times. Never have we had an experience like we had at The Grand Resort for service charges. The pictures all look like you are walking into a 5+ star Grand Resort. YES! The staff is friendly and you can see they are doing the best they can with what they have to endure daily, but we will not be coming back. The Value just is not there.

We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the location—just a short walk to the beach and close to great shops and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable.||However, a few things didn’t quite meet expectations. The room we booked didn’t actually have the promised pool view, and the clothing-optional aspect wasn’t as advertised. Housekeeping and breakfast were a bit inconsistent, and there was some confusion around the happy hour.||Overall, a pleasant stay, but a little more attention to detail and clearer communication would have made it even better.

Google
Well run resort with friendly staff and high quality service. Grounds and rooms well maintained. Quiet, beautiful property, wonderful room. Eugene, the bartender makes great drinks and is very friendly! Paul & Heath at the front desk lobby area made us feel so welcome! Thanks for making our stay memorable!

Google
Would highly recommend/suggest this resort. The staff were always available, VERY helpful, and always busy doing something. Never once did you see them standing around not doing anything. The staff was always busy walking around the grounds ensuring the property was well maintained, clean, and the guests needs were attained too. This property has everything you need; four pools, 3 jacuzzis, a gym, abundance of outdoor seating, and beautiful/coordinated landscaping. Sebastian beach is about a ten minute walk, so it’s very close by which makes this a prime location, as well as nearby to other shops and dining.I was only there for two days but already coordinating to go back.

We will absolutely be back. We're already planning for pride this June to come back, as we were told by many guests that pride is a super fun time to come during the off season. We were also told to come for new years and we will probably book that just after we come back for pride. We will also definitely be bringing a few of our friends next time that we know will love this place as much as we do now. Everyone here has been so nice and gone above and beyond to make our stay so wonderful and welcoming. We appreciate all the hard work that it takes to run this kind of facility and we are so happy and grateful a sanctuary like this exists. It has been super clean and comfortable and relaxing. We've made new friends and are so happy we decided to come here for the end of our time in Florida this trip! Thank you to all of you on staff. Amazingly kind wonderful bunch of guys!

Google
This is truly a great resort. Great atmosphere, pools and hot tubs, and continental breakfast! Location is great as well, within walking distance to several great restaurants. Wide variety of guests and super friendly bar tenders. A great place to truly relax and unwind and make new friends. My only gripe is that the floor in my room was grimy. You can really feel it when you walk barefoot across the floor. We also spilled some soda on the floor, and when we wiped it up, the rag was covered in black grime and / or dirt.

I’ve been coming to this resort for over 15 years. Ive been a loyal customer that comes on average 3-4 times per year for an average iof 10 nights per stay. ||Ever since it was purchased by a new company they have continually increased rates, offering no improvements to their amenities. Pool furniture is cheap broken plastic junk. They added happy hours but now are cancelled and they have added a bar and charge for drinks.||They charge a pet fee where it was free if you stayed in the Alcazar resort. They’ve added a $25/night resort fee and now an $18/night parking fee. |Crisis|If I stay there in the future I will be cutting off days to accommodate my budget. So they are really cutting off their nose despite their face. Instead, they’re making.||Pineapple point and the cabana resorts are excellent alternatives. | |Nothing like ruining a good thing.

Yelp
We (husband and I) have been going to Worthington alcazar villa Venice The Grand for over 23 years. The Staff Sam, Patrick and Scott are warm and welcoming and are the reason we keep coming back. Ivan and his hospitality room teams are the best at making your rooms comfortable and clean. We love the Combination of 4 properties under one owner and their ability to welcome all ages. We will continue to stay at The Grand's 4 properties and we go at least 4 times each year!

Michael T.

Yelp
I came to visit last month. The front desk person was very rude. I had a different experience the week after at Cabana's and decided to go there from now on. I had a good time at The Grand thereafter, just my check-in process was a bit less to be desired.

Yelp
I used to enjoy coming here for the day pass. It has lost his charm. Place has gotten run down in the last few years. I used to get massages here but I have started going elsewhere. The vibe isnt what it was anymoe. Its sad....seems like it had great potential at one point.

Rusty V.

Yelp
I am not sure why this place gets 5 stars. Went as a couple retreat and had to wait for our room since it was not ready. The spa team is constantly harassing you to get a massage which neither of wanted. On top of that, it was dusty and they gave very little towels in the room for 2 people. You have to constantly go downstairs and ask for things since the room is not well prepared. You pay for the location but the hotel itself is outdated. the people that stay there are a VERY much older crowd which is nothing bad but just fair warning, if you are going for a more festive getaway. It felt basically dead the whole time we were there but the guest were friendly. The breakfast was bland and they plumbing has flowing issue on the sink, shower, and toilet. My couple and I love Fort Lauderdale and the beach but will never stay there again.

Ken S.

Yelp
just spoke to the rudest receptionist "RJ" to inquire about my receipt and ask for a detailed bill to be emailed. I have been coming here for 30 years. Stay away from the Grande. it is tired and dirty. staff walked into my room twice without knocking. one time while I was having sex with my partner!

Brian Y.

Yelp
Returning guest for the last 18 years. This is our happy place. 4 beautiful properties opened to one. 4 beautiful pools. 3 large jacuzzies. A staff that goes out of their way to make you feel at home.

Yelp
The Grand was sold for $10.5 million. Worthington Resorts sold for $12 million. A new era has begun. The 5-Star reviews here seem to be mostly for Roberto and his masseur skills at the Salon located within The Grand Resort & Spa. Roberto most likely deserves a 5-star rating. However, this is actually distorting the rating level for The Grand Resort & Spa's hotel/motel and giving a higher score to it than it deserves. The Salon and Roberto, should have a separate entry on Yelp, as should The Grand's hotel. The Grand used to be a great place to vacation. The whole area around it used to have many gay all-male places to stay. However they have all gone away with the exception of three, Cheston House, The Worthington and The Grand. The Grand was recently sold in May 2022 for $10.5 million. The Worthington Resorts (consisting of three properties) and is located next door to The Grand was sold for $12 million. They were sold to a developer of condominiums and commercial spaces. I don't know if Cheston House (across the street form The Grand) was sold but it seems likely. The future of the properties seem that they will likely be demolished to make room for high-rise condominiums and high-rise hotels. I liked the Grand and I stayed there every year with a 10-day stay for seven years. I looked forward to my stay every year at The Grand. My heart was broken when I learned that it had been sold. However, when the COVID-19 Pandemic hit us, it seems that The Grand used this as an excuse to cut costs. They went very extreme. The Grand eliminated hot breakfasts and daily housekeeping. They had closed the club-room where a hot breakfast buffet was available, closed the fitness area and closed the office. They installed a side-sliding service window in the exterior wall of the club-room. Guests stood outside of this window by the pool deck and all transactions were done through this sliding window - check-in/check-out, getting your continental breakfast and requesting room to be cleaned. Now, that the pandemic has slowed, other motels and hotels are back to serving their hot breakfast and many are back to daily housekeeping -- but not The Grand. They still have not restarted daily housekeeping and they still are not offering a hot breakfast. It is my opinion that The Grand is using the COVID excuse to cut costs. The employees are not as friendly as they used to be. What I mean, is that the employees are short with their conversations and avoid coming face-to-face with the guests. They are stand-offish. It was never like that in the past. Because of the cost-cutting measures, the employees are most likely working harder for less money and under more pressure from the managers. They no longer have any time to be friendly. The Grand is a very, very expensive place to vacation and was previously worth every penny. It is no longer worth the price without the additional amenities.

Yelp
The Spa: Honestly, my experiences at Spa are part of why I stay at the Grand, and after three massages this past year from Roberto, it's easy to see why he's won local "Best Massage Therapist" awards three years running. It's clear this work is his passion. There is a calmness and centeredness about his practice, and he shows deep care for clients. He has the technical skills and abilities the job requires, but his approach elevates the experience. Add to that: I reached out via Facebook with a question a couple of days after my most recent visit, and he replied promptly with the same gracious tone he had in person at the spa. If I didn't live so far away, I'd definitely be there more regularly. The Resort: The Grand definitely has location going for it: two blocks to the beach, and dozens of restaurants within easy walking distance. Behind the resort's walls, it has a calm, relaxing environment, with comfortable rooms, plenty of space to relax, and friendly and attentive staff. I tend to arrive and almost never leave except to go watch the ocean or to dine, and most of my daily decisions are along the lines of "lie on the pool deck or in the fountain courtyard?" or "read or keep my eyes closed?". I've enjoyed every stay, and look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
THE GRAND RESORT AND SPA HAS BEEN SOLD "Casey Koslowski sold The Grand Resort and Spa on May 27, 2022 to Lior Raviv and four partners for 10.5 million dollars." I am not sure what the future of the Grand Resort is. The new owner is a developer of condos and commercial spaces. My partner and I were regularly returning guests to The Grand Resort. We really liked it very much. However, our last stay was not as good as in the past. The staff was no longer very friendly and a very strict COVID policy was in place (far more strict than any other place I have ever stayed). I believe this was done more for cost-cutting than for the health and safety of guests and employees. The Club House, Fitness Center and Office were closed to guests. A service window was installed in the outside wall of the Club House. Most everything was done through that small service window -- checking in/out, getting a continental breakfast which consisted of some fresh fruit and prepackaged cereals, muffins and bagels and there was also yogurt. There was no longer a hot breakfast with eggs and sausage/bacon. Rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis. Supposedly we could request that our room be cleaned. However, when we requested a cleaning of our room during our 10-day stay, we were handed a package of sheets and a package of towels. We went from being guests to becoming our own housekeeping staff and we had to change our own towels and bed linens. If you wanted a pool towel, you had to go to the service window and request it. As far as I know, The Grand Resort has not restarted offering the hot breakfast and I believe you still must place a request with the staff to get your room cleaned. The whole resort is now clothing optional. In the past, only the courtyard area was clothing optional and the pool area was not. This makes no sense when they have such a strict COVID policy in place. This place is very expensive and no longer worth the stay for us. Unless things change there, we will be looking at other options for our next Fort Lauderdale visit.

Yelp
My husband I visited Fort Lauderdale in March, and although we did not stay at the resort, we did book a few spa sessions, which came with a day pass to the resort. The spa was fantastic! Both of us had a sugar scrub and a massage, and while I was there I also booked a back facial. Roberto was my therapist for both the scrub and the massage, and I cannot say enough good things about him. The scrub was like nothing I ever experienced before - so relaxing, so luxurious feeling, and so rejuvenating. The massage was also wonderful - a nice combination and muscle rubs and stretches. I would do both again when I come back for a visit, and I would definitely request Roberto because he was so amazing. Not only were both treatments enjoyable, but Roberto was extremely friendly, put me at ease immediately, and seemed like an all around great guy. I enjoyed our conversation as much as I enjoyed the scrub and the massage. I was excited to get my first back facial, too. I had never had one before and had been wanting to try one for a while. Paula did my treatment and was also wonderful. She also gave me some really good advice for keeping my usually terrible back skin in a good shape. I would definitely get another one, or maybe try my first facial with Paula. Overall, I can't recommend the spa enough. If you only have time for one visit, do not miss out on a scrub. You will not regret it.

Yelp
This was my first time staying, so I was eager to talk to other guests at the pool after I had unpacked and suited up. I was quite impressed with what people had to say, commenting that they stayed there again and again. They highlighted the pool amenities, spa services, the cleanliness, the hot complementary breakfast. It was amazing from the very beginning I arrived, I was greeted at the office with an open door and a smile, I kind of felt like I was in a promotional video! The manager himself checked me in, and took me on a tour of the entire property. I was personally introduced to all the staff, which made me feel like a VIP. The other guests were 100% correct. My room was large, very clean, and have every amenity I could possibly need. There's a beautiful entertainment system in the room, soft sheets and towels, and tastefully decorated. My room in particular had a private shower on the patio outside. If you've never taken a shower outside before, it is a very liberating experience. There property is a lot bigger than I had thought, there were winding walkways with lush vegetation, a large clean pool area, towels everywhere, beach chairs for my use on Fort Lauderdale Beach right outside the hotel. One of my favorite part was the clothing optional area around the hot tub. The guys were all super friendly, and all very comfortable - no shame and no staring, which was delightful. At night the amenities and gardens are all lit up for fantastic photographs if that's your thing. If sleeping is your thing it's also very quiet after 9pm. People were still outside doing their thing, but everyone was very respectful of the time and if I didn't look outside my window I wouldn't know that everyone wasn't asleep. I'm going to go stay again soon. The GM Edward is amazing, and made sure all my needs were met.

Jon B.

Yelp
2023 the Grand has been bought, as the Worthington. The last time we were there 2022 it was starting to show it's age. NO improments have been made. Still no hot breakfast, no daily maid service. The new owners are not Gay to it does not cater to any gay activities. Intenet sucks, Some of the original help are still there, why i do not undestand. Finally the prices has tripled.. In all fairnes it's just not worth the money.. You can find something in a brand hotel on the beach.. for less,, and get a clean place. So SORRY we went here for years...

Tom G.

Yelp
I loved my stay at The Grand Resort and Spa. The rooms are HUGE! They are perfect for getting away, yet still feeling like you're at home. They're much more than a regular hotel room, with a living room and kitchen to boot. Very comfortable and spacious. The staff is super friendly, my disorganized self got dates and times wrong. No problem at all. They were sweet, understanding and accommodating. They instantly made me feel like I was welcome. The facilities themselves are broken up into several different zones. They main pool section was friendly and a place for folks to gather. You can hang and chat or take a late night dip. The back section was clothing optional and boasted a hot tub and 20 foot fountain. The resort was grand in all the best ways. Spa amenities were wonderful, gym was small, but had what you needed, and breakfast was delicious. I loved my stay! : )

Yelp
Me and my friends come here twice a year. We live in NY and we always look forward coming back here whenever we can. Its basically our second home. The staff is impeccable. The grounds are gorgeous, and the beach is right across the street! Edward and the crew are a fresh a breathe air. Always making us feel welcomed - even tho we can be a bit crazy lol. Love you guys! See ya in April 2019 P.S. get a massage here! They have hands of magic!

Keith F.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. The staff are wonderful, particularly Bobby. Bobby was so helpful and friendly. He left a bottle of sparkling wine for my husband birthday in our room which was so nice. We got a couples massage from JD and Drew who were both excellent. Overall a wonderful experience.

Bill S.

Yelp
Roberto is a master at massage! He's intuitive, kind and very experienced. The entire spa is world class.

Jordan W.

Yelp
Had a 80 minutes deep tissue massage. I have gotten many massages before, but to be honest this is one of the best massages I've ever gotten. Roberto was a sweetheart, he worked on all my problem areas that I had mentioned so well. He also used lots of techniques that I have never experienced in a massage, and was super professional which made the whole experience way more enjoyable. The 80 minutes flew by- which is always a bummer. But I would say if you have a choice to request someone, please ask for him. I will definitely be back when I can.

Michael B.

Yelp
WOW! I had an excellent t deep tissue massage from Roberto and it was amazing. I have had plenty of massages and Roberto is definitely one of the best. His techniques are top notch. He has full body strokes that are so relaxing. My range of motion in the trouble spots had improved dramatically.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for the first time last weekend and it was pretty underwhelming. On their website there is a three night spa day package we thought we booked which was supposed to come with a massage, facial and pedicure each. Upon arriving we found out that the website was wrong and they no longer do room/spa packages so the price we thought we paid for a package was just the room. No compensation, just an apology. The the final day there we decided to use one of the three hot tubs that were on site. After about 5 minutes of being in the water my husband reported his eyes stung from the chlorine. We lasted about 10-15 minutes tops before leaving as it was becoming too much. After getting out I noticed my "downstairs" was stinging a bit. We went and decided to shower off the chlorine. After getting out of the shower we noticed most of our body hair had come off from the chlorine and the rest that was there was bleached blonde. I also had a noticeable reddened stomach and sides, from a chemical burn from the chlorine. We presented this information to the staff who just made a joke about it stating "that's a better wax job than our spa, glad you're ok". Being hairless and having a reddened burn didn't seem like being "ok" to us. We were both very upset and brought this up to another worker who only responded to "I will have a talk with him". The day worker is very very nice however again, for paying what we did, not receiving the spa services we thought we booked online as the website is not accurate, and now having a chemical burn and being hairless, we received no compensation and were left disappointed, upset and nothing more than an apology. We both work in healthcare and know how bad these chemical burns can be. My suggestion would be look for a better place to stay.

Alex G.

Yelp
Just had one of the best massages I've ever experienced with ROBERT at the Spa inside the resort (I get them often to relieve muscle soreness, stiffness and pain). By far, this was one of the best - Robert combined multiple techniques that were a combination of Swedish, deep tissue, Thai and stretching, among others, for an experience that was incredibly therapeutic and relaxing.

Chris J.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE! I went there for a spa treatment, and Roberto was my therapist. How incredible, professional, and absolutely wonderful he is!!!! I want to emphasize his incredible experience, background, and level of professionalism. Folks, if you're ever looking for a great day spa and resort, definitely come here! What a relaxing place. KUDOS to Roberto!!!!

Jorge V.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!!!! The staff and management were great! The Spa, also amazing, be sure to get a massage from Ray, AMAZING. Thank so much you guys, I will see you soon. JV

Alex M.

Yelp
Some friends and I stayed at The Grand over a recent long weekend. Unbeknownst to us, it was their annual "grand lotto" weekend where they give away prizes and some free night-stays. It was a fun surprise! The location is great. It's 2 blocks from the beach, and then a pleasant walk (10-15 mins) down to the Los Olas/A1A bar/restaurant scene. I think it was a ~$10 Lyft ride to the Wilton Manor bars. The interior pool areas are landscaped with nice tropical trees and plants which create a relaxing atmosphere. There is also a friendly cat that hangs around the resort. The breakfast offerings included an egg dish, potatoes, bacon, sausage, bagels, muffins, cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, and then coffee/tea/juices. I never left hungry. They also have iced water and lemonade dispensers by the pool deck that are replenished throughout the day. The other guests are a mixed bag of single travelers, couples, younger, and older guys; it's a nice, diverse crowd. Everyone I met was very friendly and seemed to also enjoy the resort. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating. They run the place like a well-oiled machine. I'm looking forward to going back!

Han Z.

Yelp
My 3-night stay at The Grand last weekend was just amazing! To begin with, I originally booked a one bedroom patio suite but was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful penthouse with a private patio! The entire resort is very clean, spacious and well-maintained. The staff there is so welcoming and accommodating as well. A special shoutout to Robert who gave me the most relaxing massages! He's the best! I would stay at the Grand again based on my first time experience there and they certainly live up to their motto!

Donald M.

Yelp
Before you die get a massage from Robert at the Grand. It is the most wonderful therapeutic experience you will have on your vacation. He greets you like family, listens to your needs and customizes your massage to meet your needs. I would go as far as saying it is by far the best massage I have ever had and I treat myself as often as possible. Whatever is on your bucket list, a Paris visit, climbing Monte picchu, or sailing the S Pacific, Add a massage from Robert at the Grand, it is absolutely heavenly!

Louis G.

Yelp
Massage today with Michael and it was awesome! If you're going to get a massage at the grand resort and spa asked for Michael! No one else besides Michael! Awesome strong great massage very present and quiet. Awesome things hot towels. Definitely top 10!

Robert R.

Yelp
This was our first experience with the Grand Hotel Spa. From arranging the appointment right through the in spa services, everything was outstanding. JD Greene was so amazing coordinating and communicating about our appointments. He sorted out all the details of our spa packages and add on services seamlessly. JD's emails were clear and concise. He was very flexible and accommodating with our appointment times. It was a great spa experience! We had massage, manicure, and pedicure service. Look forward to our next visit!

John P.

Yelp
This was my first visit. I was invited by friends who had been there before. From the time I stepped through the front door, I felt welcomed by staff and other guests. Check in took less than 5 minutes. They gave me a quick walk around to show me where things were. I was off to the room then to the pool. I was in room 19. Its on the ground floor and one window facing N Birch. The room was clean with lamps, music and air conditioning on for my arrival. They are still operating under some COVID limitations which mainly only affects daily housekeeping, room mini bar and fitness room access. I had a massage from Robert. Probably in my all time top 5! The staff is super friendly and helpful. In all, wonderful experience and I will definitely be back!

Anthony W.

Yelp
One of the cleanest and friendliest resorts I have ever stayed. From beginning to end the staff could not be more welcoming with five star service across the board. An incredible value for the price and perfect location to the beach and walking distance to some of the best restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. The hotel is seriously a model for what other gay resorts can only hope to try and present.

C C.

Yelp
The Grand Resort and Spa ( http://www.grandresort.net/ ) is located off of A1A on Birch Road (off of Vistamar St. near the beach.) The front entrance can be deceiving. At first glance, it appears to be little more than a nicely renovated Motel near Ft. Lauderdale Beach, but enter the secured entrance, and you realize that GRAND is a fitting description. The Grand occupies about a third of the block and is completely surrounded by tropical plantings and high walls. The front pool area (clothing required due to the surrounding high-rise condos) is spotless, with towels and lounges for sitting and sun-bathing. The back area, near the Spa (clothing optional) is next to a hot-water Jacuzzi and fountain. The Spa: The Spa, available to guests and non-guests, caters to those who love to be pampered. There are a variety of packages and prices from Massages to Facials, Manicures and Pedicures. The Swedish Massage: You're led into a small, comfortable, spotless room with a table, soft music, mirrors and artwork. Remove your clothes and prepare to be pampered. The masseuse is professional and the full body deep tissue massage is beyond relaxing. Lasts about 50 minutes. The Deep Cleansing Facial: After your massage, you're led to another quiet room. The facial includes several phases, from deep cleansing, to pore-cleaning, to hot-towel treatments, to light neck and foot massage. Lasts about 35 minutes. After the Spa: Even non-hotel guests are welcome to stay a while, enjoy the pool and take a dip in the Jacuzzi, so bring your towel, your IPod, and a change of clothes and be prepared for an unparalleled, ultimately relaxing experience. Two person cost for Deep Tissue Swedish Massage and Cleansing Facial, with tips, is approximately $400.00. Call the SPA and ask for their other pricing options, from $125 and up. Save up a few bucks and do it (or beg for a gift card from someone who loves you!) You won't regret it. Parking can be an issue, so bring plenty of change. Metered parking is nearby and runs about $1/hour. Ticketing is strictly enforced.

Yelp
I've never received a better haircut or had more fun at a salon! JD is one of my most favorite people in the whole world. I have to mention Robert and Ray too, part of an all around fantastic group of people at The Grand Resort & Spa!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I spent the weekend here and couldn't have had a more pleasant time. The staff is super friendly, helpful... and cute! When we arrived we were given a tour of the property. Some highlights: everything you need for the beach is provided for free: towels, chairs, etc; there is a grill/bbq area just for guests to use if you'd like to entertain on property; clothing optional hot tub/sun deck area (teehee); catered breakfast every day. The whole place has a real Key West vibe in that it is an older property that has been renovated to provide all the comforts you'd expect but still has the charm and character of its former self. An easy stroll to the beach or an uber to local restaurants makes this a perfect home base if you're here for some fun in the sun! We didn't get to enjoy the spa this time, but I've heard rave reviews so we will be back.

Yelp
The Spa service here at the Grand is amazing. I booked a massage with Richard and will definitely be back for another one. His technique was amazing with the perfect pressure to get at those tight areas in my body. By the time he was done, I was relaxed and feeling like the stress of life had been lifted. Richard is friendly and is clearly passionate about massage, desiring to give me the best massage, which he did. Richard will leave you feeling on top of the world--it was all I had hoped for and more! I highly recommend Richard--you will not be disappointed. After my massage I had a pedicure from "Dr." Martha. Perfect in every way! Martha is a good conversationalist, knows what she is doing after 42 years at the job (truly practice makes perfect), and by the time she was done, my feet were feeling the best they had in years as she clipped and filed away those problem nails. This was only my second pedicure ever, but there was no comparison between my first one and this one from Martha--far superior. In both cases, I will be making return appointments the next time I am in Ft. Lauderdale. Superb job by both Richard and Martha.

Yelp
Spa service : just called to make a reservation for massage service. Asked for olive oil due to skin allergies. Woman on the phone (who was very nice ) put me on hold to ask ... then this condescending male came on the phone with his "yeah we don't do that" narrative and bitchy tone that we have all heard from gay establishment before. I asked why no flexibility and he replied "is there anything else we can do for you"..... yep another bitchy condescending reply. Pity people can't just say yes and make it easy.

Yelp
First time at a gay guesthouse. Pros: Lovely and well-maintained grounds. Friendly staff always puttering around putting out new towels, straightening chairs. Clothing optional area very relaxing. Water fountain. Private. Quiet. Good place to read, or relax in the hot tub. Room very clean. Great location... two blocks from the beach. Good restaurants within walking distance. My favorite: "Sun, Surf, Sand" one block away at the Hilton Hotel. "Happy Hour" by the pool is a nice opportunity to meet other guests, as is breakfast. Cons: Really none! If I'm picky, I'd say do not plan on getting a beach umbrella from the resort. Never found one available in four days. Better to rent one at the beach anyway... large and sturdy ($20 cash). Clientele: Mostly couples in their 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's. Some single guys. Vibe: Relaxed. Not a heavy sex vibe, although the hot tub can get frisky in the evening, but not out of hand. If you are looking for that, other guesthouses nearby offer it.

Yelp
Just because this is a better looking resort than the gay resort we have stayed at twice in Palm Springs doesn't mean I'm not going to mention that the reception guy brought their stars down to 4. He's an older guy. Not very friendly at all. In this respect the gay resort we stayed at in Palm Springs blows away The Grand Resort. Another reason they only get 4 stars is because my laptop did not fit in the room's safe - very lame! The way the safe was placed made it impossible to put the laptop in - regardless of the fact it was technically big enough. The Grand resort is classy as gay resorts go. When you come in there is a screen on the reception desk that has your name on it. A message on it welcomes you to the resort. I thought that was a nice touch. The rooms are really, really nice and when you walk in you are greeted by music coming from a radio. There are lots of electrical outlets which is really convenient. You get complimentary breakfast - hard boiled eggs, bagels, yogurt, cereal, etc. There are expensive snacks in your room as well as a fridge full of expensive drinks. They actually did come in handy even though they were kind of pricey. Part of the resort is clothing optional. The jacuzzi is back there. The drawback is that you can run into some slimy guys. We were hanging out at the jacuzzi when some older nude guy popped in. We weren't nude. He started chatting and all was fine until it was obvious he was trying to see if he could get some kind of action. Lame. Needless to say we left when he started trying to dominate the conversation with sex talk. This resort is located very close to Sebastian Beach which is the local gay beach! About 10 minutes give or take. If you want to hit a "straight beach" your walk is even shorter. Parking can be an issue. From the resort you get great views of the major hotels. There really aren't any restaurants or places to get food nearby. You have to walk a little to get to them. We were not here during the peak season and one night we were almost unable to find nearby parking. You can park in front or in a rear lot they have.

Yelp
I splurged today on my "first ever" pedicure. It felt amazing and my feet look much, much better. The Spa is clean looking and appears well managed. Can't believe these are my 60+ y/o feet.

Yelp
Wonderful amenities, great environment and amazing staff. The entire resort was spotless. Light food and drinks included everyday. We will definitely be back. Marty was the best.

Yelp
Had a Deep Tissue with Robert at the spa for my birthday . It was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Yelp
On prior visits to Fort Lauderdale, I had been pretty loyal to another resort in the area. However, on my last visit there, it just wasn't the same and I had heard of the Grand Resort and decided to give it a try. The website looked great, there were some decent Yelp reviews and the Spa sounded especially impressive. I was definitely not let down! From the time we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. The front desk staff was warm and inviting and even though one of them was in training, they went out of their way to make sure that we felt at home at the resort. We got a complete tour of the grounds and were greeted with cool facecloths, which were much needed on the hot August day. Not only were we led to our Penthouse Suite on the third floor by both individuals, they insisted on carrying our bags up the three flights of stairs. They made sure we were familiar with the room and amenities and the room was very well laid out. The two bedroom, two bath suite was very comfortable and both bedrooms had king size beds. The beds were so comfortable that for the three nights I was there I slept through the night without waking up until my alarm went off, and that never happens. There are many options for relaxing. You can sit on the nature walk, relax in the jacuzzi in the clothing optional area or by the pool up front. Good choices for whatever suits you. They serve a continental breakfast in the mornings with a lot of choices and a happy hour in the evenings Thursday through Sunday. One of the highlights of the stay was definitely the spa. I went all out. Deep sea mud wrap, swedish massage, manicure and pedicure. The staff is warm, inviting, makes you feel comfortable and Olin gives a great massage. If your looking for a spa getaway, their spa is award winning and you won't be disappointed. I am on the road every week for work, so it is rare that I take the time to actually write a review for a place that I have stayed. However, The Grand deserves it. I will definitely be back and only wish I could have stayed MUCH longer! Thanks for making our brief getaway memorable.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I recently spent the weekend in Ft Lauderdale. As if that wasn't quite gay enough, we decided to stay at a gay resort... yeah... After doing a little bit of internet research, we came to the conclusion that a lot of the resorts there cater to the "lemon party" crowd (and if you don't know what that is... just google it and you won't be disappointed), so we decided to be safe and go for a nice place. We chose the Grand Resort after reading some good reviews, and I have to say that was a good choice. Apparently they require a three night stay during the high season (winter and spring), but we got lucky as they had a "suite" (no less) available for just two days the weekend we wanted to do. So we ended up booking the suite, which was a bit more pricey than I hoped but eh... Fast forward a couple of months... The Grand Resort is located just a couple of blocks from the beach. On our arrival we were greeted by one of the owners (or managers?) who was very friendly and checked us in quickly. The resort is pretty... very clean, and they're clearly making an effort with the gardens etc. There's one pool area, and another "tropical courtyard" which has a hot tub and is supposed to be clothing optional (though very few people actually were naked). Our suite was essentially a small apartment, with living room, bedroom, and separate kitchen: it was definitely nice, though I still think it was a tad bit pricey. As for the crowd (since after all we went through all this trouble to go to a gay resort...), it was mostly guys in their 30s and early 40s... not too "lemony", thankfully. Anyway... the verdict: we had a good time there, and this is definitely a nice place, and it looked quite a bit nicer than the other resorts around. I'd probably consider going back if I could get a cheaper room.

Yelp
We checked in 8/31/16 and left 9/4/16. I had my reservations at first as this was my first experience at a clothing-optional resort, but this place made me feel totally at home. One of the employees, Kevin, went the extra mile to give us a tour, provide us with information, and make us feel totally welcome. Some of the previous posts mention age of clientele a lot. My partner and I are in our early 30s, and we had the BEST time. Our room looked over into one of the pool and jacuzzi areas at The Worthington, and although at times it looked like they were having fun, I'm not sure I would want the constant club music playing while trying to sleep. We'll definitely be staying here again for our next Ft Lauderdale trip.

Yelp
For a recent vacation to Fort Lauderdale, I was looking for a place to stay that would be relaxing, private and provide a spa/resort atmosphere to allow me to pamper myself, something this practical guy doesn't do often enough. After Internet research and discussions with friends, the Grand Resort and Spa came up several times with positive reviews. It has been rated as one of the best gay-owned and operated spas in the U.S. The Grand did not disappoint. The resort is very private with hotel key entrances needed to get in and fence/wall around the perimeter. Uber friendly staff is there to help with whatever you need. They were all so accommodating. I sprung for the five day pampering package with the pool view room. The package prices were beyond reasonable for all of what you get at the Grand. The room was large and well-maintained with great tile flooring, a huge king bed and a big walk in closet. Even the room mini-bar was quite reasonably priced. The room also included a microwave, a coffee maker and a small kitchen counter area complete with utensils, plates, most importantly, a wine opener. The grounds of the Grand are lush with plants and palm trees. The spa is in the back area of the resort, where the Jacuzzi and fountain courtyard are located. The Jacuzzi was always a great place to relax before an evening out or turning in for bed. The staff at the Grand Spa was incredibly professional and very skilled at their craft. Props to Wesley who was the best of the staff members I worked with. My visit was during the "off" season, so it was a very quiet atmosphere with 20 - 30 guests staying while I was there. The pool, of course, was normally the center of social activity. It was well maintained with pool side happy hours with drinks and food on most days of the week. The only real draw back was not having pool side bar service, but I understood the limitations given the privately owned operation of the resort. Your room has a refrigerator so you can have your own cold beverages as needed. The Grand is about two blocks from the beach. I spent my time there next to the resort's pool soaking up rays. The resort's location is pretty convenient (though not necessarily walking distance) to dining options, and nightlight is about 3 - 5 miles away. This was my first experience at a gay-owned resort, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for this type of spa/resort experience in Fort Lauderdale. The staff obviously takes great pride in providing a pleasurable experience for their guests.

Yelp
Stayed at The Grant for a long weekend. Had a pleasant experience. The grounds were clean, well maintained, and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend the spa. It was the highlight of my trip. The owner, DJ, was great and really detailed. I felt very comfortable and relaxed! An area of improvement would be the happy hour. I was expecting a DJ or something to prompt the night but happy hour was very quiet. Also wish the hotel had a bar onsite. Overall, very pleasant experience and highly recommend the spa!

Yelp
Yesterday I had one of the worst massages I have ever had, I had booked a last minute 80 minute deep tissue massage. I had been to this spa a few times over the years and always had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately that was not the case this time around. As the massage began I was asked if the pressure was okay, when I said no please go deeper my request was ignored. The massage was so weak that I was uncomfortable and just wanted it to end. The masseuse seemed to have little experience. When the massage finally ended and went to pay I was asked how was the massage? I stated just okay and gave a disappointed look and was met with here is the invoice and the line for gratuity! I was in such shock that I paid and left. Once back to my room I called the spa to voice my disappointment in the services provided and was told that the person on the phone was not at the spa but that he would pass along my feedback. I explained that the experience was so bad that I had to call to speak my frustration so it wouldn't ruin the rest of my day. I was told that my information would be passed along to the owner and my feedback would be forwarded. I was also told I would be contacted by the owner to discuss my experience. As of now I have yet to hear from anyone and they just don't seem to care that I spent close to $200. with tip on a bad experience. This may be a one time experience with this spa, but the lack of caring is what bothers me the most. I want to support this establishment because they are hard to come by, however my money is just as hard earned as the next guy.

Yelp
My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights. We had a "junior suite" with a full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine complete with a small kitchen area. The room was tastefully furnished with a large comfy leather chair, dark brown blinds, slate floor tiles and a king size bed. The fridge was stocked with beers, a variety of non-alcoholic drinks, water and there were a lot of snacks and chips to go with it. You are charged nominally for these and they are replenished daily. The prices were nowhere near what is charged in large hotels, giving a feeling of abundance, rather than rip-off. Daily room service was thorough and impeccable. The heated main pool was large and clean, with ample space around it for sitting and sun tanning. There is a separate sun tanning deck as well. In the back, there is a clothing-optional 8-person hot tub, which was great to experience. You are allowed to use the pool or the tub 24-hours a day--no silly rules there. Both of us got great manicures and pedicures, and enjoyed 80min Swedish massage with reflexology. The spa staff were very competent and friendly, just like the rest of the crew. Coffee, iced-tea and lemonade were self-served for free day long. Complimentary continental breakfast was available daily between 7am and 11am. We loved the place, the no-attitude friendly service, and closeness to the beach. Everything was geared to invite you back, rather than ripping you off now that you were there. We definitely will be back.

Yelp
We spent one week in the resort and had amazing experience. It has a great vibe. The resort is luxurious and clean. Stuff were super nice and always helpful, guests were very friendly too. The SPA is highly recommended too. Very professional and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back.
