"The Gray is literally right in the center of Milan , around the corner from the Duomo and niched behind the Galleria. The boutique hotel's design is contemporary- stylish and colorful. Logical choice if you want to be in the heart of the main tourist sites and museums."

"The Gray Just steps from Milan ’s world-famous Duomo, the Gray offers 21 rooms designed by Guido Ciompi, the man behind Gucci boutiques worldwide. Ciompi’s playful style is immediately apparent from the five-seat, fuschia swing in the lobby, and continues through to the eclectic rooms, which feature a mix of large, suspended beds, jungle-inspired decor, and rich textures such as padded-leather furniture and faux animal pelts. As well as the usual gadgetry, rooms also feature round Jacuzzi baths and gorgeous shower areas made from marble, wood, and glass. Manned by youthful, black-uniformed staff, the hotel’s other perks include contemporary Mediterranean cuisine in the trendy Le Noir restaurant, cocktails aplenty in G Bar, and snuggly sofas on the Aria roof terrace."

Location, location, location. You can't beat this hotel's location, within steps of the Duomo on a residential street. The room itself was very nice, although surprisingly missing one element: there are no charging ports/plugs anywhere in the room except at the mini-bar area, far away from the bed. That means that you can't charge your phone by your bedside, and that's a problem if you are using your phone for a wake-up alarm. Other than that, the room was lovely. The breakfast was excellent, and the balcony bar was a nice perk, also with great service. Recommend, but be mindful of that charging issue.

The location of the hotel is really amazing. It's around the corner from the Duomo and shopping. However, make sure you really check the size of the room you're booking. It's the tiniest room I've ever stayed in, with only about 1.5 feet around the edge of the bed and that's it (there wasn't really even room for me to unzip my suitcase without it blocking access to the bed). I also had a few awkward surprises with my bill. I was told at check-in that I had access to the breakfast in the morning...but at check-out, they tried to charge me 28 euro for it. They did remove the fee after I explained I was told it was free, but it took a few minutes of awkward discussion. The other thing I wish they had made me aware of was a 5% "discretionary" charge added to the bill to tip the staff. Given the cost of the room, this was not a small fee, and I had not even stayed for 24 hours (there was no room cleaning, and I barely interacted with the staff). When I expressed concern, I was made to feel pretty guilty about not wanting to pay and wound up agreeing to it. Given the amount, this really should be mentioned up front at check in, especially since most hotels do not charge this. Overall, I'd still consider staying here again. Aside from checkout, everyone at the hotel was very kind and helpful. Just make sure you check the room dimensions and understand the hidden fees so you aren't surprised.

I used my Hilton points for this stay. The hotel is quite stylish and definitely has a lux feel. Staff was very helpful. Room wasn't huge but it was extremely comfortable. The AC could be set low (i think it went down to 16c), which is my preference. Location is amazing - 2 min walk to the Duomo.

When we arrived my room was upgraded to a junior suite - Grazie to Luigi very friendly staff. Thanks to Michele who is always ready to help. Of course Viola also provides above average service. Very clean room. Only for the AC button you have to ask clearly to operate it.

This terrace is a great spot to visit. Very nice customer service and Justin and Wendy were very welcoming. The shisha terrace was the best spot in Milan...it made my day. Definitely would come back if I visit again!!

Sina The Gray, an SLH Hotel. It is definitely not l! Small, yes. Hotel, yes. Luxury, surely not. Friendly service definitely. Yet, lift out of order, aircon out of order, rooms well overdue refurbishment… other than a very central location, it comes across as what you’d expect walking into a 3* airport hotel in 1997. €700 a night? Your call.

Stayed here in late January, everyone here was a delight. The location was fantastic the front desk staff including Luigi helped us get a car to Malpanse. A highlight for us was the breakfast each morning which was free for Hilton members. Maybe the bad reviews are for the summer as Victor Emmanuel must be a zoo during the summer. It was very busy during the winter.

The hotel is brilliantly situated in the centre of Milan, just across from the Duomo, many cafes and restaurants and the fabulous Milan shopping; we have stayed there many times. The staff are professional, friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. We highly recommend Sina The Gray! Liz K.
