Our stay at the great house inn was nice. The history of the house is interesting, with that said, it is an old structure and was adequate stay for the type of place it is. The room was very spacious with needed amenities. Small well kept pool and lounging area. Staff was very friendly and let us check in when we arrived 1 hour early since our room was ready. Breakfast can be bought if it was not paid for included in the stay, but the continental breakfast is lackluster. The order options seemed better for cheaper. There is currently construction across the street of a new hotel so it can be noisy during the day. Not much in the area immediately around the hotel, but there are some restaurants within walking distance, and the water taxi ports are also in walking distance. Spotty wifi that could be stronger.

Stayed here for a couple of nights before my dive trip. Great location right near the Ft George pier. Very friendly staff and enjoyed the welcome banana. It was pouring rain on my check-in and it leaked a bit into my bathroom. Staff quickly moved me to another room without issue. Did not have breakfast included in my package, so cannot comment on that service. Rooms were very charming, well lit and internet worked great. Explored the local area by walking and felt safe in early evening. Would stay here again if I come back for the diving.

This is a nice hotel and really has the vibe of staying in a family home. It’s located in a quiet area right by the water front. There’s a bit of construction opposite but it wasn’t too bothersome during my stay and hopefully it won’t ruin the sea views once completed! Reception is on the first floor and note there aren’t any lifts, so you need to navigate stairs throughout your stay. The staff were always really friendly and helpful and had no problem arranging things like taxis. My room was on the second floor and really comfortable for a two night stay. Being a wooden building with thin windows means that you feel and hear the winds coming from the ocean but I still managed to have a good night’s sleep. The air-conditioning unit next to the bed was effective and there’s also a ceiling fan. An empty mini fridge was present along with kettle and large bottle of water provided each day. The bathroom was small but clean, with two bars of soap and a small bottle of shampoo provided, as well as plenty of good towels. The shower was over the bath and annoyingly I never managed to get the water to run hot, but that didn’t spoil what was otherwise a nice spacious room. There’s lots of seating and tables at various spots on the different veranda levels - these are great for relaxing both day and night. There’s a large fridge in reception stocked with soft drinks and beers and although there’s no food other than a few snacks available there are a few restaurants close by. Overall this is a lovely and authentic hotel, offering great value, which I’d recommend to anyone and would certainly stay at again myself.

The was a nice place. Pleasantly surprised. The rooms was a good size and you can see the water. The staff was attentive. The reason I would return is because I loved there customer service and staff. Top Notch!!||The breakfast is handle by a different group in the lower part of the building.

Really charming place close to the water and the downtown. The rooms are super cozy and the bathroom had a bathtub. The grounds are well kept and breakfast is available to purchase. The staff were very nice and professional! We loved it here:)

The great house inn has been a pleasant surprise. The Inn is freshly painted, the pool area has comfortable and nice white furniture and our room is beautifully renovated with granite countertops, classy wall-to-wall cabinetry and a white comforter in this well lit room. We usually stay at luxury resorts at twice the price. This king sized bedroom is its equal. Wow.

Not a great experience. No restaurant, pool was gross, was SO loud with parties who hung out on the deck. Choose Fort George or Golden Bay if you have to stay in Belize City :)

We arrived early and were accommodated. Our rooms were nicely appointed. We were only there, for one nite. The bar area was not open, but it looked nice. We were not aware of the continental breakfast. We walked down the street to a Cafe and had dinner. Gary was great in getting luggage to our rooms as they have no elevators. They had a nice pool. But we didn't get the chance to enjoy it. The front staff were accommendating. Over all a nice place in Belize city.
