Had a mid experience here. I read about the history of this place and was thus stoked to try it. Got the carne asada burrito ($10), but didn’t feel like there was enough actual steak in there. Also got a not so edible piece in there. Salsa roja was okay, pico de gallo was better, and salsa verde was better than that. Totally fine experience but not excited to come back soon.

At the end of the day. I’d rather you tell me you’re out of wings than serve the shenanigans I received. ( uber eats order.) The burrito was good enough. Actual burrito sized burrito which was appreciated . “Spicy” sauce was more Smokey than spicy 2 out of 5 on the spice level. Got an order of wings and fries. Wings were mango habanero…. Spicy sweet . But nothing above Buffalo spice. HOWEVER they were thumb size. Could barely call it a wing!!! It’s insane. But I guess you get what you pay for… . I will give credit. They followed details in the delivery. ( accommodating extra sauce request).

Gotta respect the classics, Great White Hut will always serve that authentic American burger you crave. Double Cheeseburger with Bacon is my go to, if i’m feeling like a pig, i’ll order the Classic Fries to go with but I usually never finish. Really good burgers, not crazy on the tacos or burritos though. Would definitely recommend for late nights or lunch.

Google
How average is this place? The burger was like a dryer, less sweetened version of In-N-out with a really raw gritty onion. The classic fries with carne asada, cheese, and dressing were soggy and overly sauced. Yes, the fries were fresh, but they were not crisp. The sauce and cheese were just overwhelming. I like animal style fries but this was not it. I didn't finish the fries. I can see the burrito being tasty however. A guy next to me had that, and I think that's what I shouldve ordered. Chalk this experience up to the most middling experience I've had in a while. It just didn't live up to the hype.

Located on the northeast corner of W California Ave and N Orange Street, next to Central Avenue Pharmacy, fairly close to the Glendale Galleria mall. There’s very limited parking in the attached lot, however, there’s paid parking lots right around the corner, and across the street. I was looking for some place different to eat that wasn’t the regular chain restaurants. After passing multiple chain restaurants, some inside/attached to the mall, some in the surrounding area, I stumbled upon The Great White Hut! This place definitely looked unique, especially compared to the other nearby food places. There were a few bar stools attached to the building to go along with a couple picnic bench type seating up against the Central Avenue Pharmacy. The person taking my order was friendly and answered any question I had about some menu items with a smile. I decided to go with the triple bacon cheeseburger, cheese nachos, and a coke! The burger was great, full of soo much juicy flavor, and the nachos were no joke either. The cheese was good, but I think it’s the chips that just make it taste so much better. Next time you’re in the area, skip the chain restaurants and swing by The Great White Hut, you won’t be dissapointed!

Been going to this place for about 2 years, pass it on the way to work every day. The employees were always super friendly and all smiles despite the fact that there would be 4-5 of them crammed in that boiling little kitchen, even on the hottest days of summer and with lines down the street. Last week I spotted about 6 cops hovering across the street from the hut. I'd heard about the ICE raids but since it was the middle of the day and there was plenty of foot traffic around, I assumed they were just there to intimidate before getting bored and leaving. Now I wish I had warned folks. Now when I pass the hut, there are only 2 employees and all of the familiar faces I used to see are gone. I hope they left of their own volition, but I'm worried that ICE snatched them off the street in broad daylight. Did anyone else catch this, or see something similar?

Google
I would give the burger a solid 7/10. It's nothing to write home about but was juicy and tasty. The asada fritas were awesome, partially because their sauces are super tasty. I wish I got the fries a little more crispy and will ask for extra crispy next time. Tacos were good, and I would definitely come for 99 cent taco tuesday. Solid little place to grab a quick bite, especially after some late night drinking.

Google
Got an uber eats promo code so I scrolled around and found the great white hut. I remembered seeing their souped up fries online and they were having a BoGO deal for the cheeseburger, fries, and classic fritas so I bought two cheeseburgers with egg and bacon add on, two fries, two classic fritas (fries w carne asada, feta, cilantro, garlic aioli) and chips and guac (so unnecessary with the amount of food we got). Omgggg we barely made a dent in one of the classic fritas after devouring our burgers. The guac we finished cuz it browns. The chips, fries and fritas will be tomorrow’s breakfast carb! Love finding new burger joints and glad I finally got to try the great white hut!

Yelp
I just ordered from uber eats they had a deal of buy 1 get 1 free for the cheeseburgers and breakfast burritos. I also ordered a carne asada quesadilla. 2 burgers, 2 burritos (with carne asada) and a carne asada quesadilla combined was like $32. Tax tip and everything included it came out to $46. The food tasted great and was warm. The portions are big and stacked. They packaged it well to keep everything warm. Try this place via uber, you get better deals BUT if you are in the area, it's worth a try

Yelp
Update: I still recommend this spot for the reasons I mentioned before but after eating here quite a few times, including about 5 times on a Tuesday, I want to confirm that I do NOT recommend the Tuesday 99¢ tacos. First of all they are absolutely tiny, barely any meat in there. Single tortilla (not doubled as tacos are usually). Literally 8 of them barely get me to half full, I probably need at least 12 of those to feel somewhat full. All that is excusable, it's marketing, after all they are a dollar a piece, BUT, in addition to all that, all 5 times I had them Tuesday tacos they were stone cold. So, again a great spot - decent tacos on normal days, good California Burrito, they are open late. Just stay away from the Tuesday 99¢ tacos, I have tried them 5 times so you don't have to.

Yelp
I've been coming to Great White Hut since 2019--easily over 50 times between this location and the old Glendale Community College spot. The food never disappoints. On Tuesdays, my go-to is the carne asada tacos--especially at just $1 each. I always get them with the red sauce and a side of their avocado cream. Trust me, that combo is amazing. When it's not Taco Tuesday, I usually go for the Mega Carne Asada Nachos if I'm in the mood to splurge, but more often than not, I stick with the Carne Asada Quesadilla. Hands down, the quesadilla is the best. It's super filling and even comes with a small salad and avocado crema on the side. A lot of my friends love their loaded fries, but I'm just not a big fan of loaded fries in general. I've also tried their breakfast items, burritos, and burgers--they're good, but nothing beats the three main dishes I always stick to. This spot has been a go-to for years, and I don't see that changing anytime soon!

Yelp
Quick trip to CA and my brother recommended this place. There's quite a few options to order from but my brother said the burgers were the way to go. I decided to go all out and order the double cheeseburger with bacon. My brother ordered the fiesta carne asada fries which had cheese, jalapeños, diablo and a cream sauce. The jalapeños surprisingly had a good kick to them. Overall the fries were ok but nothing spectacular. The burger was a solid burger. It had all the basics and thousand island sauce. Bacon was cooked well with a little crisp to it. I should have asked for more sauce but once again, still a solid burger.

Yelp
The Great White Hut offers a clean and inviting dining area with exceptionally friendly staff. The Americano fries were enjoyable, making for a pleasant visit overall.

Yelp
Food: ordered the chicken California burrito, build your own fries, and asada quesadilla. Chicken burrito was okay. Probably wouldn't order this again. The chicken was decent but not something I'd crave again. Build your own fries: super yummy and love that it comes with 3 toppings and 2 sauces. Ordered mine with asada and an egg on top. Was great. Asada quesadilla: flavorful and tasty. Can't go wrong with a quesadilla. Service: when I came on Monday night at 10pm, ordering was only available through self service kiosk. Ordered and paid for an extra salsa but they forgot it. Got my order fast though. Ambiance: this is a really small outdoor only "hut." This place can get pretty packed with limited seating around the hut and three tables near the pharmacy. Parking is available in the lot but it's shared with the pharmacy. There's decent amount of street parking, metered parking or paid parking diagonal and across from the hut.

Yelp
Stopped by again finally got to try the burger.... yummy!!! The service is fast easy to find parking.

Yelp
Old school since 1947. On this visit I ordered a cheeseburger with fries plus a bean and cheese burrito with onions added. The burger was a dry bun disappointment and so was the burrito. The only thing that shined here was the great friendly customer service and the french fries. Despite my experience this is still a popular food stop for many.

Yelp
Stopped by The Great White Hut for $0.99 Taco Tuesday - not bad for a buck! The tacos were simple but tasty, a great deal for the price. Perfect for a quick, casual bite in Glendale at a great price.

Yelp
Gem of a spot! Budget friendly, fast and delicious Mexican food. Parking gets packed and no comfortable seating but it's such a cozy little spot with very delicious food and very fast employees who work fast and gets the order right no matter how busy it gets! A must try in Glendale for sure!

Yelp
Wow did I get caught by Instagram on TGWH. Great pics so i bookmarked, but this spot did not impress. A total whole in the wall tiny building two person operation. I ordered a burger and loaded fries well done. The burger was , im going to say it "garbage" just not anything positive to say. 2 stars The fries cane out super sogged after asking twice for WD. Had to take them back, the lady gladly replaced so high mark for service. The new fries were loaded with carne asada and pretty darn good. Id stop back for those. 4 Stars

Yelp
Let me start by saying I've heard so much about The Great White Hut. The bar was set pretty high and unfortunately it fell short. My family was in the area and I had to stop by and see what the hype was all about. I ordered the carne asada burrito a cheese burger and 2 fries for my kids. The burrito was meh. Carne asada was filled with a lot of beans and onions. Kind of dry and bland. My daughter took a few bites and gave it to me saying it wasn't that good. The burger was actually decent. Fresh lettuce and a slice of cheese with a tasty patty. The saving grace was the fries. Crispy on the outside with a soft interior. The salsas were good but I couldn't tell you about the avocado salsa and ranch because they never gave me those items. Anyway, I guess they're the spot to go to if you have a late night taco shop/burger craving. Overall, the prices were average and so was their food. I'm not saying I wouldn't eat there again. It's a good option. Maybe their carne asada fries or nachos are the things to order. But I wouldn't drive out of my way to go there.

Yelp
Great food and excellent customer service.Highly recommend their breakfast burritos, they always hit the spot.
google avatar

Yelp
On a Sunday morning, with zero customers, how long does it take to make 3 breakfast burritos and a fry? Over 30 min. No acknowledgement. No apologies. Now for the food: Burritos were awful. Dry. My kids burrito had a bone in it. Our fries had a hair in it. The egg in our fries was way under cooked.
google avatar

Yelp
We got the Cali burrito and breakfast burrito and it was just lacking in so much flavor... it wasn't even close to what you would get at an authentic Mexican spot... the hot sauce they give you is like a super spicy Chipotle which was so hard to use.. idk if you like not so flavorful food go for it.. but ya sad that the Cali burrito had beans in it to use a filler instead of more steak..
google avatar

Yelp
Had their asada nachos. Not bad. Quick service. Limited parking. I didn't like the cheese sauce. I prefer real shredded cheese .

Yelp
I like the loaded fries here and their California burrito . Service is fast, I usually order for take out . Ambiance is chill it's right by Porto's .

Yelp
This was Such a Treat! Walked from the hotel for about a mile, but it was Soooo worth it! Easting the fried egg fries was a life changing experience. I never would have expected the thousand island and feta to work so perfectly with that egg!
google avatar

Yelp
Great service I've always gotten the Cali burrito. Delish also tried the breakfast taco with the runny egg bomb as well .

Yelp
This restaurant is just a small shack without any indoor seating, so many people just go to get take out. My friends and I went after a music festival since the restaurant is open fairly late, so it's convenient. We were served quickly, and the location was pretty popular. As for the food, the burger is pretty normal, but it still tastes quite good! The fries were a little bland and soggy though. All in all, a good pace to go to later at night!
google avatar

Yelp
My better half and I tried The Great White Hut before checking out a movie at the Electric Dusk Drive-In across the street. Also across the street is a spacious parking structure so no need to sweat it trying to park in their tiny parking lot. It's a little shack with no inside seating, just a walk up window for orders and a few stools at the counter if you want to eat there. Because of this, the majority of people just pick up their food to go. We ordered the Mega Carne Asada Fries and it was prepared in a reasonable amount of time. Delicious but very messy so don't forget to take napkins! Overall we wouldn't go out of our way to go here, but when in the area it's a decent choice if you're in the mood for nothing more than burgers/fries or simple Mexican food.

Yelp
You know! This place was pretty good! I was impressed that the asada meat was very flavorful and tender. I ordered an asada burrito, without beans. I didn't pay attention that there was like, jack cheese, in it too. I don't like my burritos with shredded cheese in them, but that was my oversight. The onion and cilantro were diced fresh. I really liked the flavor of the mild salsa I opted for. Very good! Only complaints would be the tortilla. It was the kind that is thin, dry, and feels like paper. Also, their order kiosk was broken. I tried entering my order, twice, and it kept getting denied. When I asked the guy working the place about the kiosk, he was a bit rude in telling me it was broken and I had to order at the window, as though I was supposed to know what.

Yelp
Overall disappointing. I thought the bfast burrito was tasteless and a quite mushy :( Order in April 2024: Breakfast burrito with bacon 6.5/10 Side of mild (green) and hot (red) salsa 6.5/10 Pros: I like that it already comes with a lot fresh pico de gallo inside - only thing that gave it flavor. Cons: Everything is mixed in garbage plate style so it doesn't really taste like anything and then every bite tatses the same. Couldn't taste the eggs, cheese, or bacon. Waaaay too much oily hashbrowns all mixed through out so you can't even scope them out or avoid them. Salsa: Both salsa flavors are also underwhelming. The red is just heat but not much flavor, the mild doesn't really taste like anything. They also charge $0.25 each if you want salsa on the side - I feel like you should at least get one free? Oh well, inflation. Likely wouldn't return.

Yelp
We usually go to the Studio City location, but tonight we tried the Glendale location since it was the closest. One of the orders we got was a Mega Carne Asada. Everything was going great until my we realized that there was no beef in our order. We dug through to just make sure that it wasn't buried under the toppings, but we only had beans in it. My husband went to go inform the staff and they claimed that WE ATE it already! What a joke! Super disappointed. Will never come back. I never really leave one star unless we get bad service or experience. For the workers to accuse us of lying is just plain terrible. Do not recommend.

Yelp
Craving chili cheese fries, stumbled upon The Great White Hut. While they don't have chili cheese fries, their Carne Asada fries and various meat-topped fries were a delightful surprise. Tucked away on a corner street, these fries were crispy outside, soft inside, with juicy and flavorful meat. Toppings like cheese and salsa were a great addition. Perfect for sharing or a quick meal in LA. Only downside was limited parking, street parking with payment required - not the restaurant's fault, just a heads up. Highly recommend for a tasty and quick bite!
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
My daughter has been here several times and this was my first time. The menu is very simple. You can order what they have or build your own fries. This option came with two sauces and three toppings. We got avocado crème and thousand island with carne asada, sunny side up egg and cilantro which cost $8.93. It was a good portion for us to share as a snack. The service was fast and friendly. The ambience was well lit with a few seats. Overall, the food was excellent and I highly recommend this place.

Shawn C.

Yelp
I saw the amazing reviews of this place and decided to check it out. The lady working there was sorta nice I guess but the food can use some work. Like I love carne asada fries so decided to try their mega carne asada fries which was like $14 tax included. And I was so disappointed. Like the meat is ground beef........then you got the cheese and it's nacho cheese not like real cheese. I mean I'd understand if it was like $8 for this but like $14? There are so many other Mexican places nearby that charges the same price with actual beef and cheese. Overall I didn't like it.
google avatar

Mariah A.

Yelp
This spot has become my go-to place! The price is pretty decent for the amount of food you get. I highly recommend their burritos!

Jordan T.

Yelp
I've been here twice - once for the loaded fries and once for taco Tuesday. The loaded fries tasted great and I think reasonably priced. They could definitely give you more protein tho. The taco Tuesday deal seemed appealing cause the carne asada tacos are $1. However the tacos I received were SKIMP AF. The amount of meat you'd expect on one decent sized taco was spread out across three. You'd probably need to buy like 6 tacos to get a fair meal. It also took them 30 minutes just to take my order.
google avatar

Merry L.

Yelp
I ordered via Grubhub for delivery. Ordered a breakfast burrito & plain nachos with cheese. I received nachos with guacamole and avocado sauce, along with tomatoes. I HATE avocados. The burrito did not list it had avocado, but it did & I don't see it had any eggs. Ended up tossing it all out.
google avatar

Joe Z.

Yelp
This was my first and last time eating at The Great White Hut. Terrible quality with low grade meat. I ordered an asada quesadilla and asada/chicken tacos and everything was bland and over the top greasy. The wait time is ridiculous. It took 30 minutes to get my order with only two people in front of me. Limited seating and parking. I don't recommend even if you're intoxicated.
google avatar

Octavio J.

Yelp
Today I had a horrible experience at your Downtown Glendale Location. The lady taking my order was busy on a personal call through her iPod earpiece and made a mistake. I ordered my meal and asked for a coke at the beginning of the order and at the end when I paid. When my order was ready, I didn't get my coke, and I asked for it. She printed out a receipt then very aggressively put it in my face and said, "look I didn't charge you for a coke!" I pulled out my wallet and paid for my coke and walked away. I felt humiliated by her actions, especially because it happened in front of other customers. All because she was on a personal phone call on her earpiece while working. I will never forget this experience and will avoid this location moving forward.
google avatar

Jacklyn D.

Yelp
A very good Mexican/American spot! This place gets super busy - expect longer wait times during the weekends, but be patient! There are usually only 3 people working at a time. My go to favorite item is the classic carne asada fries. It comes with some aioli, cotija cheese, carne asada, and cilantro. They're not shy about the toppings and do not be fooled by the look of the little box because it comes with plenty of fries! I've also had the breakfast burrito and cheeseburger, which were delicious as well. The breakfast burrito is huge and sharable.

Yelp
Came here for late night cheese burger and fries cravings. This is a food stand located in Glendale. It is located next to a very nice pharmacy. I parked outside of the pharmacy because it is late. There were bar stools outside of the hut, and picnic tables next to the pharmacy. I ordered a cheese burger and sunrise fries. Service was fast. The cheese burger patty was tender and juicy. The sunrise fries was a surprise. It was exceptionally tasty! The fries was not soggy with all the sauce that came with it. It satisfied my craving! Took away 1 star because they was a cockroach crawling in front of me on the side of the window net screen. It scared me because I am afraid of roaches. I finished my food real quick and left.
google avatar

Yelp
Our spot for the evening munchies. We usually get the mega carne asada fries (well done fries - though they usually don't make them well done). We tried the mega carne asada nachos and they weren't as good for us. We recently go into their 99 cent tacos for Taco Tuesdays. While they are rushed orders, it's a great value for the price (chicken or asada meats).
google avatar

Keely G.

Yelp
Such a great find! I saw a post on social media about this place and after Yelping it, decided to give it a try. We had a double cheeseburger with grilled onions, fries, and a bacon breakfast burrito. The burger was delicious with a fluffy soft bun, two beef patties, lettuce, tomato, onions and thousand island dressing. Delicious! The fries were just the way I like them, soft with a slight crunch on the outside and the breakfast burrito was bomb as well. All of that food, plus a can of Coke was around $23 and some change so reasonable prices-- and fast service as well.
google avatar

Giselle E.

Yelp
Good late night food! The staff isn't the friendliest but the food makes it worth it lol! My favorite is the asada burrito, so delicious! The meat is perfect!
google avatar

Vkc L.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Glendale. I'm not a French fries person but they have some good fries here. Service is always good. I always get the double cheeseburger with bean and cheese burrito for lunch or dinner. There's parking all around as well it's really accessible area. I appreciate the work you guys do.
google avatar

Kayla M.

Yelp
Don't ask me how many burritos I had from local shops, I ain't telling. Anyway, their breakfast burritos are really good. The only thing I'd skip on next time is the cheese. If you're not a big eater, definitely share this or else you'd probably end up gorging yourself like my butt did and want to sit around and watch anime all day until you fall into a burrito coma for a bit.

Nissa K.

Yelp
So far I've tried half of the menu and I love everything! I go there like 5 times a month for my cheat meals and the quality of the food is always the same, there are no surprises, it's always delicious! Staff there are very polite and professional, basically 10 out of 10!

Yelp
Decided to come by Great White hut in Glendale because I am a huge fan of their North Hollywood location. I always build my own carne asada fries. The Glendale location has the mega carne asada fries so I decided to give it a try. It was my first time here. Food wise, the North Hollywood location is better. Parking is great here at the Glendale location and they got my food out in a timely manner. Here is why I rated my experience a 1 star. I start to dig into my fries and as I am enjoying them, I notice I am not getting any of the meat. I scrape the top off to the side like the guacamole and beans to look for it, and nothing. I thought to myself, maybe it's near the bottom of the cheese sauce or mixed in the pico de gallo. I continue to eat and while I see beans I am not getting the carne asada. So I dig to the bottom of the box and nothing. I move everything around and nothing. I proceeded to go back to the window and let them know I ordered the mega carne asada fries and I didn't get any of the asada. The man in the window looked into the box then asked his cook about the order. The cook tells him in Spanish that he did put the asada in my order. He then tells me in English that the cook gave me asada. I told him I didn't I don't see it. Then the man says, "maybe you ate it from the top, you ate a lot from the top." I figured the carne asada is cents to them in cost to just provide some good customer service. The fact that he thinks I lied about it and ate through it without knowing, all I said after was "okay... okay then." I would normally have pushed it and continued to ask and argue but instead I just walked away. If that's how they do business at this location then I guess that's how it is for the gentleman at the window. I will not recommend this location to anyone. This location handled a simple customer service situation very poorly. Yeah I ate the top of it because I was hungry but I noticed right away that there wasn't any meat but I said to myself maybe it's in here somewhere. It's an honest mistake to forget the meat, but to blame me for it, I paid for carne asada, I should get it. This is from a Saturday night shift October 7 and it began to pick up as we were leaving. The photos I have here are my mega carne asada fries compared to another yelper's mega carne asada fries. You can clearly see the difference but I gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe the carne asada was in there somewhere.

Yelp
Small little shack that serves big food. They have variety of loaded fries and it's delicious. Burgers burritos and more. Good for to go food cause seating is limited.

Yelp
The burritos are DELICIOUS!!!! I highly recommend you come. It's also reasonably priced. The food comes out very quickly and it's very tasty. It's on a corner of a street so there are just a few sets around the restaurant. If you're in the area I recommend you come at try if :)

Yelp
I ordered a triple cheeseburger with avocado, bacon, and an egg. With a side of nachos. But since I'm ordering myself and picking up at their window I didn't give a tip. They retaliated by making me wait extra long for my order while everyone else who ordered after me got their food. And they left out everything I paid for in my order, I only got a triple cheeseburger and some nachos. They don't want my business, my money is mine in my pocket, and I'll spend my money somewhere else where people are professional. I don't recommend this place, they seem to expect me to just give my money away for free. 2020 COVID lockdown is over. This experience wasn't worth it.

Yelp
Amazing service and the Cashier was so helpful. The food is amazing and I totally recommend to anyone around. The vibe is cool and chill with nice music playing. Pull up if ur around the area.

Yelp
The food was incredible--perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
$0.99 Taco Tuesdays? The last of its kind! Fritas are fire. Always wanted to try but never came to it. Now I'm here almost every other week!!!
