This place was fabulous for such a little spot. We went to the botanical gardens then stopped in for a late lunch. My wife got the red fish sandwich blackened and French fries. My son got a bacon cheese burger with French fries. I got a Cuban sandwich with French fries. The food was great the fries when nice and crispy. The Cuban was beautifully pressed and not wet. The red fish was fresh and cooked to perfection not one bone or scale. The burger was juicy and cooked right at med temp perfect just kept you wanting more after each bite. They mixed the sweet tea on the spot at the bar area it was Fantastic perfectly mixed not too sweet just right. They also have outside seating with plenty of server's to hand a rush of people. Staff was all super friendly and the chef was great to he brought out our red fish sandwich and was real down to earth and genuinely laughing and loving every bit of his job. He even got me to eat one of the hand pick flowers oh yeah they have a eat able garden on the roof that they pick fresh herbs and seasonings.

We’ve been here a few times and have tried different items on the menu and they’ve all been superb. I love that the vegetarian options don’t feel like an afterthought (try the portobello mushroom burger!) and everything feels fresh. The service is always great and Gabi is a friendly gem that really made us feel welcome. I do wish there was some background music or just something to liven up the restaurant more. Sometimes it feels like you can hear all the conversations around, not because people are loud, but because it’s so quiet there. It’s such a bright restaurant, I wish the ambiance would match. Nothing major though, as the food and service more than make up for it.

We popped into The Green Orchid for dinner after Lights in Bloom at Selby Gardens and were so glad we did. The restaurant was fully decorated for Christmas…so festive and fun. We started with the Japanese BBQ calamari, which was hands-down some of the best we’ve had. If you like calamari, it’s a must-try. The pull-apart bread was a hit with the family too, with cinnamon butter that made it taste a little like a cinnamon roll without the icing. For dinner, the kids loved the Cape Malay Street Tacos, while the honey mustard salmon and Hatfield Ranch pork chop were both amazing. The honey mustard glaze on the salmon and raspberry glaze on the pork chop really took these to the next level! For dessert, we had vanilla and coconut lime ice cream. Both are made in-house and were so good! They’re perfect if you want something sweet but light after dinner. If you’re planning to visit Selby Gardens and need a great spot for lunch or dinner, The Green Orchid is definitely worth checking out!

I have recently discovered the Green 0rchid in the Sarasota Botanical Garden. Excellent service from Rebecca, very good advice about the food choices. The ahi tuna poke bowl was full of flavours and enough for 2 people. A special note for the green energy they use from solar power and the excellent atmosphere.

This place was so refreshing. We were in the area on our 2nd anniversary and stopped by while visiting the Marie Selby gardens. Our Waitress Amy was easily the kindest most professional server I've ever experienced. She was so thoughtful about our anniversary and very attentive. I will definitely come back again in the future. The food was delicious and very much worth it.

Google
A great restaurant within Selby Garden. The food is delicious and the service was so friendly and welcoming! We’re looking forward to visiting again because there’s plenty more on the menu you we want to try. If you are going to visit Selby Gardens, plan on lunch here, you won’t be disappointed.

Google
Fantastic little restaurant Great service, Evan was informative and friendly The johns BLT I requested with crispy bacon and was NOT disappointed. The bacon was a little candied, piled high and it came with an aioli and a fresh beefsteak tomato slice. I'm not big on BLTs but when I saw the description I had to try it.. I'm so glad I did! The bread blended in with everything and added a slight aftertaste of rye. I have a cilantro allergy so I didn't take a bite of the entire taco that my partner got but I did try one of the tiger prawns and it was delicious! It's like they were cooked in a homemade garlic turmeric curry separately, and I loved it! The staff here are phenomenal and I love this little restaurant

We returned to Marie Selby Gardens for the first time since the expansion and the Green Orchid was the highlight of our trip. The rooftop to table and sustainability was impressive. The relaxing atmosphere and friendly service was such a warm and wonderful experience. Last, but not least...the Tuna Poke Bowl was the best I ever had!

Yelp
We saw that the Green Orchid was starting dinner service on Thursday-Saturday nights and came on opening night. The experience was one of the best we've had ever. Amy, our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and turned our dinner into an experience, bringing the food in courses. This was our 30th anniversary dinner and the experience was befitting of the special occasion. The serene ambiance of Selby Gardens helped set the tone of the evening. The food was amazing. Starting with the deviled eggs with millionaire bacon. Creamy eggs with just the right hint of salty bacon. Next was a shrimp taco trio with watermelon radish, and flavors I've never had in a taco but delicious for sure. Next up was a Lobster roll with onion straws. So much succulent lobster bursting off the roll, and huge chunks of claw meat with just the right amount of mayo. We also had the vegetable pasta dish made from veggies grown on the roof-fresh and delicious. Our server, Amy, brought us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary and it was equally delicious. If you're looking for a great dinner option with super food and service. Go check out the Green Orchid.

Yelp
I went here last weekend for lunch for the first time. The restaurant decor and ambiance was a nice surprise. It was modern and a comfortable bright setting. The hostess was nice and our waitress was decent. The food came out in a timely fashion. We ordered a Cuban sandwich and a Reuben sandwich with fries on one and I believe yuca fries on the other. The Cuban took me by surprise, it was really good, and the Reuben was pretty decent (slightly dry but good at the same time). The fries and yuca were really good compared to other restaurants. I will definitely return to give it a round 2. Food 8.5 for lunch items Ambiance 8.5 Service 8.0

Yelp
So incredibly good. I got the lobster roll and it was packed with the most delicious lobster. The flavors were so enhanced with the other ingredients they put in it. My mom loves their key lime pie and swears by it, but we had to order another dessert due to me not being able to eat an ingredient in it. We ordered the peach cobbler and I could've eaten the entire thing by myself. I will be dreaming about it until I can eat it again! Server was super nice and helpful. Restaurant was beautiful. 11/10 experience.

Yelp
Loved the ambience, views and overall vibe of the place. The salads were both delicious as were the mimosas. Didn't take advantage of the cocktail menu but it was really well put together. I can't wait to go back and try more menu items! Server was attentive and involved.

Yelp
Amazing dining experience while visiting the gardens. The restaurant is lovely, the food and drink outstanding, and the service A+. Our wait person, Parker, was very welcoming and did a fabulous job checking in on us. So glad we tried the signature Green Orchid cocktail--tasty and refreshing after walking around the garden in the heat. Highly recommend. Split the lobster roll with a friend and they very kindly plated each half so they looked as delicious as they tasted. The onion strings are a must--yummy and beautiful presentation. Another friend had the burger and raved about it. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
What a WONDERFUL find. Beautiful weather today so we decided we'd head to Sarasota and drop in on Selby Gardens. Been so many years since we've been there that the road we used to drive in on is now a brick walkway. Had a great time there and when we were ready, we decided it was time for a late lunch. Near the exit we saw bright colored umbrellas over tables and decided to check it out. It was the Green Orchid by Michael's On East and man, are we thankful we did. Great menu, wonderful selections, and outdoor seating was amazing on a cool day like today. The hostess and wait staff were all about the politest we've seen in ages. Very attentive and very cordial. The service was quick, the food was great and the presentation was 5 star all the way. We plan on re-visiting Selby soon and when we do, we will most definitely drop in to Green Orchid again. Thanks for putting the star on the top of an amazing day!

Yelp
We went here after wandering around the botanical gardens and it was just what we needed. The food was DELICIOUS and everything was plated so beautifully. Seriously everything we tried was so good. The staff was super friendly and the interior of the restaurant is gorgeous. Would definitely recommend to lots of people!

Yelp
I've been having lunch at The Green Orchid almost weekly since they opened and I must say all of their salads are the best tasting and freshest I've ever had anyplace! They chicken curry soup is so flavorful and smooth, and the Pat LaFrieda burger is amazing! (Please get the LaFrieda sliders back at MoE). Love all of the staff & fantastic bartenders!

Yelp
Rick is handling the beverage service for The Green Orchid behind the bar every Monday. Last Monday while awaiting my friend I asked him for my Summer drink of an iced tea with a slice of orange. Rick asked me if he could get creative and I said go for it. He shook the ingredients in a martini shaker and served me a tea with a gorgeous frothy head on top. It was marvelous! My friend came in and she said I'll have what she's having. I sent the photos to my husband and we both came in together yesterday to enjoy lunch and some refreshing Orange Tealicious Tea's. (Rick's Name for this) The photos say it all. By the way, Monday is Rick's only day on site at The Green Orchid at Selby Garden's, if you care to try one. Tuesday through Friday he is wowing diners in the bar at Michaels on East. Summer in a Glass.

Yelp
Amazing food, wonderful presentation, servers were attentive. My friends and I had a great time! Perfect lunch after going through the botanical garden.

Yelp
Fairly unpleasant robotic staff, ridiculous prices, no view, food mediocre. there is absolutely no reason to go here. A sad situation all around.

Yelp
You can only go in if you pay 28$/person, we wanted to go with our family, but no way I'm paying an extra 160$ just to go into the restaurant and sit down and pay for the overpriced food...
