The 5 Best Hotels in Mexico City (Updated 2025)

"Housed in a gorgeous Art Deco building directly across from Chapultepec Park in the middle of posh Polanco, this hotel offers a rooftop bar that’s a fun place to hang out and a complimentary breakfast (which I personally don’t think is anything to write home about). All rooms are large suites decorated in an aristocratic English style with elegant wood furnishings, hardwood floors, and paintings, and I love the arched floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of either the adjacent park or the courtyard. The luxurious suites include nice desks, a seating area, and a smart TV, while the large marble bathrooms feature both a jacuzzi and a walk-in shower plus complimentary toiletries and plush bathrobes, making it a nice choice for a refined stay in a classy neighborhood." - Matthew Kepnes

The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. We had a park view room. The bathroom, while appointed very nicely, was awkward with a large window between the bathroom & the bedroom. I believe that it was to offer a view of the park from the tub. However, it also gave anyone in the room a view into the bathroom, including the glass walled toilet. Anyone getting up in the night had to turn on light which shone into the room. The shade on the window helped a little. The hotel was very quiet.

Honestly the only complaints I have with this place are that the noise from the road is pretty audible and the mattresses for the beds are not comfortable. But aside from that the rooms are huge and beautiful, the hotel is very pretty. They just need to add mattress toppers to the mattresses and they're golden. They even upgraded the wifi and it's pretty fast now (50-100mbps, 80mbps average)

We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff was great, room and everything on hote grounds was super clean and well kept. Awesome aesthetics in the room that was very charming. House keeping was great and the food at the restaurant was very good. Overall highly recommend this place when staying in Mexico City!

This was our first visit to Mexico City, and we chose our hotel based on its exceptional reputation and prime location. We couldn’t have made a better choice! The property itself is stunning, with a timeless, old-world charm that creates an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication. Our suite was spacious, beautifully furnished, and designed with such attention to detail—it felt like a luxurious retreat. The location couldn’t have been more perfect for our sightseeing plans, as it’s right across the street from the iconic Chapultepec Park, making it easy for us to explore and get oriented in the city. But what truly set our stay apart was the staff. They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and eager to make our experience unforgettable. Their warmth and professionalism elevated our stay to a genuine four-star experience. For anyone looking for a luxurious, authentic Mexico City stay, I highly recommend this hotel—it’s a destination in itself!

The hotel itself was clean, pleasant and had a great location. However, the service was terrible. My friend and I were traveling alone and one day, in the mid afternoon, a man used a key card to walk into our room. No knocking, no identification, no nothing. He was clearly shocked that we were in the room and he quickly retreated. We called down to the front desk and they were shocked. They said they would investigate and call us back. After 30 mins, we had to call and them and they said it was a maintance man that accidently walked into the wrong room. However, he did not have on an uniform or say that he worked for the hotel. Also, why did the front desk need 30 mins to get to the bottom of it? We left and went to another hotel. It was very unsafe. And when we tried to get a refund for this hotel, they acted like there was not a situation and that a man did not walk into our room unannounced. They claimed that we left because we wanted to and refused to refund us. They were real jerks.

Wow, the Green Park exceeded my expectations. I expected a lot even after reviewing the TripAdvisor reviews. I have only one issue, when I made my online reservation The Green Park immediately charged the full amount on my credit card. I don’t think that is appropriate without advance notice. My hotel experience was excellent. The outdoor patio restaurant was very enjoyable. The breakfasts in The View were nice. Try the Huevos Divorciados. It was the Christmas holiday season, so the staff was stressed by their limited numbers, but they did well. |The room was truly enjoyable. It was a pleasant experience. You may want to ask for a face cloth, but every thing else is provided by the Green Park. We enjoyed our experience.

Not worthy of a 4-star rating. I stayed for one night in the fall of 2024 and I'm very glad it was not for longer. The check-in time given by the confirmation email was at noon, but I arrived at the hotel at 1. The staff at the front desk tells me that check-in won't be for another hour and a half or so due to housekeeping or some other logistical error. Fine, nothing I can do about it. I leave the hotel and find something to do in the meantime. When I return, they say again that check-in won't be for another hour. They did nothing to apologize for the delay and 4 or 5 other guests were stuck waiting in the lobby to stare at the walls too. There was no consideration at all for guests' time and no emphasis on customer service. Staff is inattentive and unengaged. When I finally get into my room at around 4 PM, to which the concierge didn't even deliver my bag as a courtesy, I find myself in a stylistically outdated room. The thin walls, sounds of traffic below, broken sink, and non-existent wi-fi were what I was welcomed to. I can't believe a hotel like this is operational in this manner, given that the experience is so poor. The only thing I liked about the stay was the size of the room, the view and the large bathtub. Knowing what I know now though, I would've preferred staying at another hotel entirely. Perhaps it's fine if you only intend to sleep there but not so much if you'd actually like to enjoy the accommodations. The reviews on Google do not accurately reflect the quality and value of the location. In fact, I think most of the reviews with 5 stars and no context are not from legitimate customers or even real people. There are much better options in the city, consider staying elsewhere.

Really liked the hotel, wooden floors, roomy but modern, Uber away from Roma district where we hung out. Bed was comfortable with good room service. It is located on a major street so it is noisy all night with big rigs driving and a stop light in front of hotel. The shower was unusual, had a number of knobs and spray functions, little difficult to use but the water was strong and hot. Overall we liked it, rates were reasonable.
