Where to Stay in Mexico City During Your Visit (Updated 2025)

"Housed in a gorgeous Art Deco building, I found Green Park Hotel to offer large, comfortable suites with traditional wood furnishings and views of the adjacent park or courtyard, along with spa baths, seating areas, flatscreen TVs, desks, and a pleasant rooftop bar." - Matthew Kepnes

We've actually been going there for a few years. Don't get me wrong, the rooms are superb. But what we have found over the past year or so, the meals may have posh names but the quality of them has plummeted. That was our initial main attraction to the hotel for the first few visits. It's expensive but the meals were bloody excellent. No longer I'm afraid. The last time we were there, I'll always remember the roast puddings that were like cardboard. It wasn't just the Sunday dinner. Over the years they have cut costs in terms of the meals and quite frankly they are now way overpriced. My wife is a chef for decades in the past and she's given up with this place. Also, unless you have friends who are with you, it is like a rest home for OAPs. I am an OAP but it's so cliquey it's almost impossible to talk to other folks. They have their own friends who come along every year to meat up at this place. So, not only most people have disappeared by 9PM but what's left will not talk to you.

We're just back home after our 6th visit to The Green Park and have already booked for our 7th visit next Spring. Every time we visit the hotel we think it can't get any better, but each time we revisit it does get better. This latest stay was no exception.|The food is incredible, the staff are so welcoming, helpful and friendly, and everything possible is done to make your stay exceptional.|We go as a couple, but always meet other friendly guests, whether they go as a group, or a couple like ourselves, people are always so friendly.|Having travelled all over the world, we have now reached that stage where we don't want to go anywhere other than The Green Park, it really is the best hotel we have ever stayed in.|Judith and Alan, Lossiemouth.

Had a brilliant stay here for my grandparents wedding anniversary. We travelled as a group of 9 and absolutely loved our stay! The staff were all so attentive and friendly, nothing was any bother. All of the details were thought out and everything seemed to run so smoothly there was never any waiting or hassle for anything. The hotel itself is stunning with beautiful views. If you have accessibility issues the hotel is greatly well equipped, for example ground floor access with no stairs, bathroom accessibility and even mobility scooters on site. Every meal we had was stunning and the free cake on hand in the afternoon is a welcome bonus!! Would recommend this for a relaxing trip!

Wow, what a find. I’ve travelled a lot and stayed in a large number of hotels, but this is by far the best. The attention to detail, level of service and friendliness of all the staff really makes the place. I visited with my mother for a trip away for the first time since she was unwell, and everyone made this a really special visit. The grounds are beautiful, art inside and out is lovely, making for a beautiful place in a beautiful location. The food was amazing, dinner very tasty and a truly extensive breakfast buffet and cooked options.|My first visit here, will not be my last. Thank you so much.

Just returned from our second visit this year and most certainly lived up to our expectations. The food is impeccable as is the service. The staff are a credit to the hotel - nothing is too much trouble.|The owner is always around and very friendly.|The pugs were made to feel very welcome and lots of beautiful walks for them and not just in the hotel grounds which are beautiful.|Booked again for our 3rd visit.|Never change what clearly works extremely well.

Here’s yet another well deserved five star review. We are, like many guests, regular returners to enjoy excellent food and the kind and welcoming staff, most of whom have been there for years which says a lot about the management and ethos of the place. We’ve booked next year and will keep coming back.

We first visited 59 years ago on our honeymoon.|Not every year since but many since the wonderful McMenemie family took over.|Honestly I don't know of any location or hotel that we have ever enjoyed more than the Green Park. Could anything be changed for the better? How could it be since it is the best. Thank you Alisdair and all the team. A spillage occurred at the table and the speed of dealing with the issue would make an emergency medical time proud. |We shall be there again next year . How could we not be at our 60th!

Yelp
This place is incredible! My girlfriend got married here in June this year. Her dogs and family were in attendance. This place is stunning! The one thing I like about this is it's pretty much a no kids zone! It's very old school. All wait staff is dressed really nice as are the customers! We stopped in for tea and coffee. Plus a few finger sandwich's. All free! Was a nice break to get off the road and chill for a bit. Also, gave my friend a chance to relive her wedding day. The floors are covered with fancy rugs and the seating area for tea is lovely! They have board games you can play if you're going to sit for a bit. This place is dog friendly! As I have discovered throughout Scotland, they are wonderful dog lovers! Pets are welcome to stay in your bedroom, but NOT in the public areas of the hotel. There is NO CHARGE for bringing pets to the Green Park. They have a supply of pet related items, in case you have forgotten anything. There is a dog-poo bin, and a poo-bag dispenser on the grounds. Important that you clean up after your pups! Green Park has approximately three acres of grounds, and nearby walks include Faskally Woods and Loch Dunmore. I recommend this place if you're ever in the area! This place is beautiful. September 2023

Yelp
Stopped by while on an "adventure", took a chance that they would have a room. We were in luck because they had a cancellation, which left a room for us! Stunning, simply stunning. The rooms are done to perfection, complete with lovely sitting area in a bay window, and binoculars to look over the lake. We were lucky enough to be there with the leaves turning, couldn't ask for more beautiful scenery. Hotel staff was lovely and helpful, gave us a complete tour before we accepted the room. There are guest lounges with coffee/tea and cakes provided free all day. In the evening Coffee/tea and sherry are provided. Food was exquisite, and perfectly presents, in a diningroom that had a perfect view of the loch. Comfortable beds, very helpful staff, beautifully decorated hotel. It's certainly not a "party" hotel, but if you looking for a relaxing stay somewhere, with superb food, and every detail attended too...this is it. (but be warned - they're booking for 2020 right now!)

Yelp
Beautiful old world charm in a very picturesque setting. You will feel very pampered with before dinner sherry in the drawing room to first class service in the dining room. It was my mum's 80th and they had a bottle of champagne with crystal flutes all set out on a silver tray in the room with a birthday card. This hotel is also pet friendly with pet treats also in the room. Beds were very comfortable and room was very clean. Bathroom was up to date and sparkling clean. Went above and beyond to help you out. Wonderful stay.

Yelp
My wife and I have been going to this hotel for almost 20 years. That in itself should be enough to reflect our satisfaction. There are no negative points about this hotel. The staff go out of their way to help, always. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is second-to-none. The rooms are always clean. The public areas are luxurious. The views are spectacular.

Yelp
An old folks hotel. Front desk staff was unhelpful about an Internet problem until I asked for the manager. The front desk staff blamed me that 2 iPhones and a new iPad couldn't connect to the Internet. The manager, was attentive and called in the guy who installed the system. Dining room with beautiful views but has cold white fluorescent lighting turned up to fast food intensity. When I asked the front desk about dinner elsewhere they were unhelpful. When I found a place online, they didnt make a reservation for me. They handed me the phone to reserve the table. the room was stuffy but hot and stuffy overnight.
