I really wanted to love this place. A cafe just off the Commons where you can sip coffee surrounded by plants? Loved the idea, but not so much the reality.
Firstly, the smell was pretty strong. You know how when you're changing the water in a bouquet and it's a bit pungent? That's what the interior smelled like the day I went. Avid plant people might not mind, but I wasn't feeling it.
There was live music that day. Upon walking in already I was already leery. For such a small space the performer was a tad too loud. Also, she was signing to a pre-recorded track. Lots of Lady Gaga. Her voice wasn't bad, but it just was not the vibe I was looking for.
I don't remember exactly what my latte was, I think lavender sage? It was tasty, but a little pricey, especially for the size glass it came out in.
Staff was nice. Cashier was hustling.
This was just not it for me. I probably won't be back since I'm not in Ithaca often. Truth be told this was more of a 2 star experience for me but I'm rating 3 because there was a charm to it and under different conditions it could probably be better.
