The facility appears clean, but the setup feels very temporary and poorly managed. Although there is a facility manager on site, they were not respectful, and it was clear that their level of customer service is very limited. The security staff (wearing orange/black uniforms) were rude to player parents and showed very little respect for the customers and families who came to support the players. Parents were forced to purchase drinks only from a single vendor in the lobby, with no outside drinks allowed. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I would not pay to play at this facility regardless of the event. We as the parents traveling for kids to participate the event should at least be treated a little better.Worse experience ever!

I went to the place for two special occasions, which were my senior prom and to see a fireworks show on the 4th of July with my family, both of these were a few months ago during my last high school year. The Grounds is a really cool place to host concerts, dances, proms, sporting events, conventions, and many more events as well. 💖💝

Grounds and Facilities are kept clean and well maintained. Parking is plentiful but often $15 per day. Gym facilities are nice with bleacher seating and clean bathrooms. No outside food in the gym facilities, but plentiful food trucks just outside.

Came for a women's wrestling tournament. Huge facility for big events like basketball, volleyball, wrestling, etc. There were 18 mats used for this event and they still had plenty of room in this building.

The facility is nice but the food truck options are terrible: burgers, fries pizza and one Mexican and acai bowls... Where are the Asian foods?! Thai, Vietnamese or Chinese? Couldn't find anything with healthy salad or sushi or seafood and only the unhealthy fair.

It's an average event center overall. Compared to a top tier convention center it seems small and crowded. Parking is $15/day, and half the parking lot is dirt/gravel. The venue prohibits outside food, bit does not have adequate food service capacity, so they rely on food trucks. This means that healthy options are very limited, which is frustrating if you are there for a sports competition and have nothing to feed your athletes but junk food. This means you have to plan ahead to bring your own food and eat it in your car or something if you care about eating healthy.

We come here for my son's volleyball tournaments. My first impression of this place, it's huge! Parking is not a problem but be ready to pay $10 plus the $15 fee at the gate to watch the games. It has good air conditioning which I like especially during the hot summer months. The restroom are also clean and well maintained. I subtracted 2 stars because of the fees and that one experience with the ticket/gate staff who said she cannot refund my tickets/wrist bands which I paid in cash. Refunding because my friend already got me tickets so I came back to the gate and the lady remembered me paying cash. I politely asked if she can refund since the way they record their wristband sales was just in a piece of paper/booklet with tally marks (weird for a huge venue like this, right), their apple pay was not working (it's not always working on 2 occasions I was there, coincidence?)... so honestly, she can easily just cross-out the quantities of tickets I bought and resell them... I end up standing there in front asking people who were paying cash to buy the unused wristbands from me. Good thing there were still nice people who bought the 3 wristbands but being out there in the sun, without shade whatsoever was what I hate most. Oh well...

I have never had a good experience at this location. The events can be great, the attendees can be great, the staff are absolutely horrid from the parking lot to the management. I've been told the only reason they get business is because it's the largest indoor venue in the area - that's believable.

We've stayed in the RV Park on multiple occasions. The maximum stay is 28 nights followed by leaving for a minimum of 3 nights. The grounds themselves are safe and pleasant to walk and there are many events (not included). With the exception of large crowds on some days, NASCAR and indoor and outdoor concert days allowed to go until about 10PM the place is quiet. They have WiFi and sometimes a working portal for internet access. You get full hookups (sewer hose correction has no threads) a dumpster and access to the outside grounds. The staff outside the office are friendly and know how to deal with the public. Some are exceptional and include Jeff, Andrew (moved on), Clinton, Carter (moved on), Dillon (moved on), Tim, and Steve. Based on my interactions in the office and those of many others that have stayed here the interactions in the office could use tweaking.

As a vendor and attendee at the Tri County Home Show I would say Im pretty happy with this venue, the inside is cool and holds a ton of vendors, and they always book great food trucks! I had a meatball sub from a gal and WOW! Also Friday's lunchtime country singer was a 10/10!

Cool place for youth basketball and baseball. Parking comes at a fee. Entry fees as well. Restrooms were clean. Food selection was nice with food trucks setup outside. There's a cafe inside. The courts were all in nice shape. The nets for volleyball are set up a little messy. The need to be more tight so play can happen off the net. One of the better venues I've been to for youth sports.

Our first time at the newly remodeled Placer County Fair grounds. The Grounds, what we saw looked very nice, New and clean. Every staff member we talked with was very nice. We arrived late after work. We were there to see the Spazmatics perform. We were hoping to go earlier to enjoy more of the other fair attractions. But we only saw the Spazmatics and ordered a beer. The beer, bar and restrooms were located in close locations to the stage. They had tables and chairs out, would of been nice to have few more. But people also needed space to dance. They had a good amount of space for dancing which was very nice! Hopefully they have The Spazmatics back again soon!

My second time visiting the grounds and attending an event. I attended the same event of the Home and Garden show roughly about four years ago. For this particular event, I could say that a lot more options of Tiny Homes are available and possibly a few more food vendors as well. The grounds seem to have been kept up nicely. I like how they have what seem to be a dog relieving area to me. I noticed a red fire hydrant and not too far from that was a dog statue so I'm assuming. Nice to see this is another dog friendly location as well. I also noticed a few other activities that could be held in one of their buildings whether it's large sporting events or possibly Jim family events. We did pay for parking during this cigar event, so I'm guessing they probably charge parking for any event that they do have at the location being held. Overall, great spot to have events

Came here for the Placer County Fair. Parking was $10. Adult admission was $8. There was a good amount of food stands. We got a snow cone, doughnut, corn dog, and churro. Everything was delicious. There's a small play area for the kiddos, rides, and carnival games. It's an enjoyable experience, but much smaller than the State Fair in Sacramento. As adults, I'd say expect to spend 1-2 hours here. Note for the COVID conscious: No one was wearing masks or distancing in lines. Condiments and snow cone syrup are at self-serve common areas. Some stands have hand sanitizer available.

A very small event center that charges way too much for parking for their events. Came here for a few gem/jewelry shows and was disappointed about how small scale everything is. (I guess I'm too used to Bay Area shows). I don't mind if a show is small, but I think it's unnecessary for such a small venue to charge so much for parking. Recently my mom was visiting and I had commented that there was a Placer County Fair going on. She remembered the fun times we had at the San Mateo County Fair and Orange County/LA County Fairs in the past and said she'd like to check it out. I figured it would be tiny, given how small this place is, but at least it'd be fun to walk around and get some fair food, right? We paid $10 for parking. Then we paid $17 for admission ($7 adults, $3 seniors). Gees, $27 just to get IN to the fair?! Oh well, we gotta support our county, right? Now we wouldn't have minded paying so much if it was great or even good. Instead, we walk into the fairground and we're met by a bunch of tents set up by local businesses. Understandably, they're out to get more customers but we totally felt like sheep walking among wolves. My husband made the mistake of engaging in conversation with the first tent and as we continued walking, she ends up chasing down my husband to try to get his business. Seriously? We're paying $27 to be hounded by companies? We walk around for a few minutes and then go, wait, that's it?! So we figure, okay, well we're here, let's get some fair food. We're not even that picky with fair food but nothing looked even remotely appetizing. Everyone around us looked bored and hot (it was pretty warm). We wanted to spend some money for something yummy but given the lack of many choices, we weren't able to find anything. Talk about disappointing. As we walked around to make sure there wasn't another aisle or building that we had accidentally missed (we didn't), my mom turns to me and says in another language, "We got tricked." (Or I guess it'd be better translated, "We fell for it.") On our way out, we had to maneuver our way around that first tent so my husband wouldn't get hounded by that loud woman again. Turns out she was standing under the tree smoking, so we didn't have to worry after all. The high point: We got a cute free ruler and chapstick from iFLY and another company--I think T-Mobile. Yay, we love free swag. While I'm all for supporting our county and even a small-scale fair, guests should not be made to feel like they were ripped off. For such a small fair, at least charge less for parking. Or admission. I feel bad for families that paid so much to get in and then have to pay for tickets for rides, etc. Unless they start charging less or move to a bigger venue and do something drastically different, the Placer County Fair is TOTALLY not worth it. Our first and last time. Save your money and just go to the California State Fair in July.

If I could give it zero stars I would. We were here for a girls wrestling tournament, and it was absolutely disgusting how they treated these athletes and their families. These girls and their families wake up at 5am to be at the auditorium and then were being harassed by the security guard because no food or water was allowed( not even the lobby) a lot of these girls fast 12 plus hours to make weight the next morning. They had grown men confiscating Gatorade from 15/16 year old girls.

New facility opened in February 2020. Large parking lot. We were here for the Vollyball tournament. Indoor was high cellings .. was divided into 24 volleyball courts. Courts were meant for basketball and volleyball tournament. Facility has free WiFi for the guest. Love the facility would love to see them add options for displaying scores

Nice clean gym. Pretty organized compared to other venues. Ample parking and friendly staff so far.

It was great. I got to go to the fair. My mom loved going. She & I watched the band. I loved getting food

Horrible area for Handicap Accessibiltiy if crowded with events. Attended the Lego Brick Palooza 11/12/22. Sadly, it was booked the same day as a High School Cheerleading competition. My son is in a wheelchair and we need space to unload the ramp. There were no handicap spots available so I had to unload him near the front where the stairs are and I had to find parking which was far away in the rocky dirt area. Sucks but no handicap spots happens many times. My big issue is what happened after. When it was time for us to leave the event, I left him in the front area and walked to wear the my car was parked. (Rocky Dirt Area) By this point, everyone from the Cheerleading competition was leaving and going in one direction. There was so many blocked areas from cones and I couldn't get through to back to my son. I was so far away, I was near where the parking attendants were collecting money. They kept waiving at me to go out the area where I would have to leave the parking lot entirely and come back in. (That would take 20 minutes and they would probably charge me to get back in.) I explained my situation to the parking lady, and she said, "Then go back to the area. Drive. there." I explained that all cars were leaving and the cones were blocking in. She looked at me stupidly and said, "just drive back to the front." At this point, I just threw some cones out of the way and drove back to pick up my child who was waiting 15 minutes already.

Horrible parking situation, unorganized, gos routing has not been updated. One entrance and one exit.

The VAMPIRE BALL of 2012 WAS A BLAST! SITREP What a dynamite experience the "Vampire Ball 2012" was indeed. This year it was hosted by the venue Placer County Fairgrounds & Events Center. What a great place for an amazing event put on my friends Shannon McCabe with the DJ talents of Bryan Hawk and David Van Dyke. PICTURES I posted a number of event pictures that will show how extensive the activities were at this event that included hauntingly beautiful women, frighteningly handsome men, and even Le Stat! ACTIVITIES It was an eclectic schedule including: * A RED CARPET Greeting! * Beautiful Belly Dancers! * Theatrical Displays & Scenes from Interview with a Vampire, and Dracula * The Beautiful AKASHA, Queen of the Vampires, making the rounds on the Stage and in the crowd * A SEXY VAMP BEAUTY CONTEST * Vendors selling all sorts of items, trinkets, and mystical potions! * BANDS in the Band Stand * A Hookah Bar, ....and much much more! THE LOWDOWN I can't wait until the Vampire Ball next year in 2013, and YOU will want to be there too!

This is my third Anime event hosted at this location (as opposed to Sacramento). Lots of Cosplay ‍ . The price is "right" and it's clean family fun. The vendor's food and shopping opportunities are unique to this section of California.

The place was spacious enough, but the there workers were rude, disrespectful, and impatient.

They only have 2 parking attendants collecting the $10 rate. Lanes backs up t to the street. They need more attendants! Here for volleyball games and tons of girls leaving their cars to run to their court. They need to staff up!!!! We are consistently late to games at this venue and we always leave at least 45 mins early from a hotel that is 8 mins away!

I'm shocked that at an events center we weren't allowed to use apop up tent outside. We weren't allowed to bring food into the entry area. (I get not on to the court) even though there were tables FULL of food. Additionally, we were told we couldn't sit in the floor next to our table! What was that about? You can do better @theGrounds.

It's always great to try a new place and see all the old county fair places repurposed. We came here for a volleyball tournament and they had one single line to pay, with one attendant. $10.00 cash only. I can handle the $10.00, but really, one line and cash only. It's 2020. Our team was supposed to be on the court by 7:15 am but our coach was still lined up blocking the intersection and into the public streets. The single woman attendant was not only collecting lots of cash alone, but was stressed out. She did have a great attitude but said she was stressed by the line. The parking lot was very nice and the outside of the facility very clean and fresh. We got to the line to go in, only to find out it was quicker to pay there, then to prepay online like we did. The online prepay made you stand in a line to get to a booth to then get scanned by one person and then have your hand stamped by the same person. Pay at the door was 10x faster. The inside of the facility is amazing. The place is one of the nicest ever to host a VB tournament. They do have bleachers for spectators but definitely not enough. People have to stand and no personal pop up chairs aloud. Awesome bathroom and a beautiful wood floor for volleyball and basketball. It's new so I will cut them some slack, but they just need to be prepared for big crowds.

Strawberry fest was super overpriced for what you get. Rides were perfect for the little kiddos but man it was pricey. 4 rides for each kid came out to be 30 bucks! A hot dog would set you back $9. They did have a ton of food trucks to choose from. This is going to be a one and done for me.

Don't believe it if: 1) They say there is RV parking and hookups. Actually what is there is one "manager" on the take who lives there and a bunch of other people who live there, which leaves no space for travelers to actually get in. They get around this by saying it's "first come first serve". So the first came, like months and years ago, set up, put out fences, steps, couches, etc. Yeah, they live there. Count on boon docking at the Thunder Valley Casino. The RV parking is across the street from the big building. Park in the back near the water reclamation plant and call the casino for a 3-day pass. Bring your generator and plenty of water. 2) They say the exhibit hall is air conditioned. It isn't. It's swamp cooled, and "cooled" is a loose term. They charge organizations an extra $250 to rent their lovely "remodeled" hall with fake A/C. The whole thing is a scam. Whoever is running this place must be a bunch of ex carny people because all they want to do is get money for nothing and line their pockets first.

Wish I had read reviews before going to Gemfaire this weekend. As I drove up I was disappointed to see a parking attendant at the gate collecting a fee. I thought $5 tops. Wrong. I was so shocked when she said $10. I apologized to her that I know it's not her idea to charge such a ridiculous fee to park there but we had already bought our tickets to go to the event so we sucked it up Should have blown off the admission tickets $3 each and saved the $10. Crappiest Gemfaire I've ever been to but that's another review.

I remember coming here as a kid going to the fair my dad lived right behind them and he still does we use to love coming to the fair and going on the rides the food is so good at the fair they have lots of fun rides to go on while you are here the fair is not here very long when they come in to town but I used to love going on the bumper cars and the Ferris wheel this is a place for the whole family to enjoy they have kids rides here and the adults can even enjoy the rides here to this is definitely a fun choice to enjoy while it is in town this is a very friendly staff very clean atmosphere very clean restrooms very clean establishment I highly recommend checking them out next time they are in town very fun experience for the family and kids lots of memories to be made I look forward to my next visit next time they are in town

Independence Day fireworks were disjointed and 'different. Attendance was great, lots of cars working there way into the parking lot. About 9:25 a few fireworks started popping off at the north end of the arena. One pop, then a pause, then another pop, then another pause, and a group of 2-3 fireworks. Then the announcer came on and said that "the fireworks show would follow this." After about 15 minutes of the amateur show, the actual, professional- grade show was great Then came the exit of thousands of cars through the one gate! I looked out over the sea of brake lights and decided to sit and wait for the crowd to thin out before I even started the engine. The car that was in front of me sat there, stationary, engine running for OVER 30 minutes before he was able to move forward! Parking lot planning must have been done by an 8 year old. Thousands of cars simultaneously trying to exit through a 2 lane gate! Unbelievable!

Paid $50 to go to the jurassic event at the fairgrounds tonight half the dinosaurs did not work very few of them made a sound which they advertise they all roared and they all moved even my five-year-old grandson who loves dinosaurs said it was lame

While attending a volleyball tournament we decided to get food from the food court. I was shocked by the staff's rude treatment of customers and general lack of food handling safety...Needless to say we will avoid the onsite food in the future.

We always attend the Mes Amis Vintage Show here at this Event Center. It has lots of parking, centrally located in old Roseville. It's an older venue, nothing fancy, but it works. It's always clean and well maintained.

$10 per Vehicle to entry this place, regardless parking there or not, even drop off person. One star this the lowest, O star.

It is tiny and HOT. It was 110 the day we were there. All I could do is grab a beer and sit in the shade. Everything was way too hot. Those poor 4-H animals. There was a decent band touring from Southern California playing. Don't know how they got stuck playing at the Placer County Fair but everyone has to start somewhere I guess. The best part was that I had my first ever polish sausage corn dog. It was yummy!

I came here last summer with my boyfriend. I almost passed out from doing so much walking in the heat! I felt so bad for the animals. If we hadn't had bought a lemonade, I'm sure I would have passed out. My boyfriend and I just walked around for a bit (there wasn't much to see) and he bought some BBQ supplies for his stepdad. Seasonings, sauces, etc. The samples that we tried were pretty good so I'm guessing the sauces and seasonings were a good buy. We probably won't come back this year. It was way too hot and we got bored within 5 minutes.

Average place, nothing special. When you think of a fair ground, this is probably exactly what you think about. Lots of space for parking, but trashy paving job. Long walks, no restrooms except portables. I suppose what type of event is being held here in order to fully understand the convince of the land. Just be careful with what your getting yourself into when entering the park!

Opening night and it was horrible! First, 10.00 to park. Then another 10.00 for 2 kids and 2 seniors for admission. Food costs were ridiculous. Cotton Candy was 7.00, hot dogs/corn dogs, 9.00 and so it goes. 32 tickets for rides cost 30.00 but since each ride was 4 tickets, only 16 tickets each were given to my niece and nephew. Two tickets remained, and you couldn't use them for anything. All games cost too. 1. 00 to 5.00. It was a very expensive and disappointing experience. I would tell anyone thinking about attending not to!!!!!!!

Old, dumpy fairgrounds. Yout think Arco needs to be replaced? This place makes Arco look like Jessica Biel in a thong. I mean, it gets the job done, but its not much to look at. The bathroom in Jones hall reminded me of my high school...which was built in 1906.

I went to see the fireworks for the 4th of July. I loved the show. It was a free show. But there was not any seating inside everyone had to sit outside the fair grounds.

Came here to film an event for a friend of mine, it's a pretty simple place and nothing really that special about it. It's an older place, but hey it does the job. It was a pretty easy place to find, and depending on whats going on here in the future, I just might be back.

Just got home from the 2012 4th of July fireworks display at the Placer County Fairgrounds. We needed to find a new venue since Sunrise Mall retired their firework display. I must say I was not disappointed! The event was not overcrowded, the grass/shade made the evening super comfortable, and the fireworks were superb. It only took us about 10 minutes to get out of the parking lot and onto the main streets home. The kids had a fabulous time bouncing a beach ball around and many guests surrounding us felt compelled to join in on the game as well. We all truly had a fantastic time!!

Been to 2 Crossfit competitions here. Clean and plenty of parking. Overall good event and the grounds were very spacious. Bathrooms can get a little crowded and nasty by the end of the day.

We've held our annual crab feed there for about the past 15 years. They always treat us good and the facilities are top notch.

The Summer of 2011, we took our kids here. They each got a wrist band ($25 each) to ride unlimited rides. Even though it was hot and I was super pregnant, it was well worth it. There was a lot of rides for smaller children (under 7) and the kids really enjoyed themselves. They had typical fair food with typical prices. I liked the long lemonade cup that you got unlimited refills with. Not bad. THERE WAS A FILIPINO FOOD STAND! Yummmmm! Why am I giving it a low rating? Well, we took the kids this year, last Friday to be exact, and we felt pretty robbed. First of all, we bought the kids the wrist bands again, except when we got to the area where the kids rides were, there was hardly any. I actually mentally listed all the rides that were missing from last year, and it came down to 8 less rides than they had last year. Wow, that sucks. This year we took my sister in law as well, and since I wasn't pregnant, we bought $40 worth of tickets to split amongst the 3 adults. Wow, those sure went by fast, considering the rides were 4-5 tickets each! Our older son wanted to ride the dragon roller coaster but had to have an adult ride with him, so my husband went on with him. Same for the bumper cars. He's 6 years old, Im sure he could have handled those rides by himself (especially the roller coaster, which he LOVED) Now, heres a rip-off ride: the haunted house! My older son wanted to try it out, so I used 4 tickets to go on with him just in case he got scared. So, the verdict: ride was short, and there was NOTHING in the haunted house except for 1 skeleton. I'm not joking! What the hell kind of ride was this? I wasted 4 of my tickets for a ride my son didnt wind up needing me for. My middle son went on afterwards with my older son because he was mad that he didnt get to go on the first time. He came out (he gets scared easily) and basically said "thats it?". Yes son, that was it, that was a waste. A few hours went by, trying to keep everyone satisfied and entertained. Older son wanted to ride the dragon roller coaster again. But there was no more tickets for the adults, and the rude ride guy operating the roller coaster wouldnt let my son go on it. My son actually did make the height requirements, so why did he need an adult? He didnt get to ride it. Okay now on to the food part! We ate prior to comming to the fair but did get hungry half way through. Hmm, something seems odd; that long lemonade refillable cup wasnt there. Okay, so we ordered a soda. No refills allowed. Soda tasted like there was no carbonation and it wasnt even cold. Eww. Fried Twinkie, was small, and it sucked. Waste of money. Still left thirsty, we get some drinks from that Filipino stand. This place sure knows how to jip your money! With half ass EVERYTHING. What happend to this place from a year ago? It use to be so nice and worth the money. I wish I could get our money back and save it for the State Fair. $100 down the drain. I recommend you call and find out what they have next year or maybe ask someone who was at the fair already that day or the day prior and see if it will be worth it. As for now, unless they shape up, we wont be returning next year.

Flood Water Roller derby is pleased to be working with Placer co. fairgrounds. It's the beginning of a beautiful relationship! Great place for events!

If you are thinking about RV camping here...one word...don't. Where do I begin? No real "spaces for RV's as the main spots are taken with people who live here. It appears there are quite a few full time residents. In addition the bathroom is the Roseville homeless bath room. Bathroom was very dirty and not kept up. I worried about leaving my trailer during the day with the various people wandering around. Also the Roseville Jail is across the street from the entrance. Finally we had the great luck of staying through Saturday night. There were races going on at the racetrack which wasn't too bad but there was also a huge party going on at a building in the fairgrounds not more than 200 feet away that played really loud music. I mean really loud. I am glad they enjoyed their party but I wish I didn't have to as well. Bottom line is, if you have an RV and are in Roseville, keep driving!
