My wife and I spent Easter long weekend at The Grove and had a wonderful time. We stayed in theur Classic Room, which was spacious and comfortable. We spent most of our time outside the rooms though, enjoying the many activities they had on offer. In the three days we spent there, we did archery, axe throwing, we rented e-bikes for a couple of hours and took golf lessons. The biking was the highlight, amongst the pretty woods on the property and then alongside the union canal and in the adjacent park. Most of the property is occupied by the golf course, which looked quite busy as well.
We at some good food as well: Madhu's has great Indian food, the Turkish pop-up restaurant Skewed was amazing and The Stables was decent (the pub is better than the restaurant). I'd recommend ordering breakfast in the room, for which an order of up to £28 per person is considered the same as taking the buffet at the Glasshouse (I'd avoid that, especially at busy times). Finally, a hotel highlight was the Afternoon Tea,which had a great selection of teas, the food was pretty good and the atmosphere was amazing.
Overall, food was good and we quite enjoyed the activities but a staycation here can get quite expensive so I'd definitely recommend planning it all in advance to understand the full costs.
A couple of other things to flag. This is a family friendly spot and there were a lot of young kids, which can make it quite chaotic. Also, their reservation system for the food and activities is quite bad: there's no centralization, there are different systems and people to reach out to for the food and the activities and once you book one, there's no way for you to know. They could really use an IP upgrade and a guest app.
