The Guesthouse Hotel

In November 2024, we had a room block at the Guest House for our friends and family who traveled in for our wedding. We, the bride and groom, also stayed at the hotel for a week and all around we had an absolutely fabulous experience. The General Manager, Rick, and the AMAZING staff could not have been more hospitable, kind and detail oriented. They truly made us feel at home. The accommodations were gorgeous. All of our guests were extremely impressed with their suites. We even had our family dog with us, which made us feel even more at home. Our memories at the Guest house will be captured forever because we also rented a part of the lobby for family photos before the wedding. It was a wonderful and picturesque backdrop. Please stay here if you ever have the opportunity! It's a wonderful hotel, wonderful location and wonderful staff!

My company, StoryStudio Chicago, booked a writers retreat with the hotel in November, and it was a fantastic time! The staff were very communicative, and the accommodations for our group were lovely. We were able to sell rooms/beds ourselves and assign spaces to each attendee and then coordinate with the hotel down the line. We had use of the library for rent, which was perfect for our groups of writing time, and we're hoping to go back when the roof is seasonly open as well. We were so pleased with our business retreat that we're already looking for a time to book another one in 2025. Thanks so much, Guesthouse Hotel!

I stayed here a while back with my boyfriend and should have written then. That's on me. I have never loved a "girl experience so much. " starting here does not feel like a hotel, but rather you are transported out of the city to your own private residence, where you are not disturbed and all the amenities are there, they are yours, in your home. It is incredibly furnished, the kitchen is better than my own, the showtime and your own person grill are wonderful. They feature local spirits in the lobby with a library and fireplace. We hosted friends for dinner around the dining room table, as if it were our home. My boyfriend grilled his first whole duck on the patio, shirtless in the snow, and then we watched the Superbowl, forgetting we were even still in the city. The detail, high quality, spacious rooms, tasteful decor, and incredibly attentive front desk and kind staff are mind-boggling in the best ways. I can not say enough about this place... unless they raise the prices due to my honest rant... ;) I truly look forward to being back because it is more of a getaway than a hotel. Oh... and I hear they have a newer better one in Texas. How, i have no idea but I'd fly there just to find out.

We loved having so much room to relax and prepare for our big day and the staff at the Guesthouse made us feel so welcome and special. Booking was a breeze, and all of our email correspondence before our visit was quick, easy, and accommodating. Their space is beautiful - not only the rooms, but the shared space in the lobby and the gorgeous rooftop were an added treat! We rented a parking space, which was easy and convenient considering we didn't want to worry about street-parking in the city. We would definitely stay here again.

The Room: My friends and I loved the room at the guest house! There were three bedrooms and two bathrooms which was perfect for four guest. The shower in the master was a rain shower with a steam feature. The steam heats up the shower and the floor. The handles are a bit confusing but if you play with it, it’s quick to grasp. The kitchen had everything you need to eat there. They provide a bag of decaf and a bag of regular coffee. Enough to make two pots, one of each. They also provide cleaning wipes, dish soap, trash bags, laundry detergent (2 packs), laundry softener (2), a sponge, cleaning caddy, dish dry rack, shampoo, conditioner, bathroom soap and extra linens. The room was the cleanest I have ever stayed in. The Service: I would rather have a background check than put a $250 hold on my card. It does not come off for 10-15 days which is INSANE. Also, what type of people pay over $400 to stay one night to wreck the room? The service at the front desk in person was nice. They did not explain that if you go down the stairs and exit out of one side of the building then you are not on Guest House hotel property anymore. So you can’t get back in because it is a fire exit. Terrifying. My friend and I had to call the front desk. We were stuck outside, in the rain in the dark. Very confusing. Check out was very easy and smooth. Overall, the service was awesome and helpful! Their policy for the card charge is l awful. The Parking: Parking is very limited so make sure to pay for parking because they only have so many spots. It is $30 a day. You do get a garage to park in though. With the garage door opener! You also only get one spot per room (rental unit). I would definitely stay again. However, I would bring two credit cards so I am not screwed over for 10-15 days.

We had such a pleasant stay here on New Year’s Eve. It is such a beautiful and elevated experience right here in Andersonville Chicago. We had a very intimate minimony/wedding ceremony right in our suite’s living room and it was perfect/ plenty of space. The staff is very kind and approachable and our suite was wonderful. We will definitely be back !

What a delightful place to stay! We had multiple families staying here for my daughter’s wedding. Our “apartment” was large, airy and perfect for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready. Having a kitchen meant I could cook a proper breakfast to get the day started, and the balcony overlooking the graveyard and cityscape was perfect for some fresh air.||From the beginning our experience with all the staff in the planning stages, answering all our questions, and logistics was friendly and extremely helpful in every way.||We had a small bridal high tea the month before in the library and it could not have been more lovely, again with wonderful friendly service from the staff. Our new favorite place to stay in Chicago.

This hotel is amazing !! I am local to Chicago but needed a place for family to stay over the holidays . We’ve tried hotels all over the city but this is the best one by far ! It has a beautiful lobby with local products and spacious rooms that feel more like small apartments . We needed handicap parking and it couldn’t be any easier . Staff is lovely, rooms are very clean and well stocked . I love the location because it can let you explore the north side neighborhoods . It is safe and easy to get around . Amazing find 10/10!!

Bedroom door is squeaky with a deep need for WD-40 and I am in deep need of sleep. The tot fell asleep at bedtime but the creaking of escaping parent woke him up and now four hours later we are still not achieving bedtime because he's playing the squeaky door as an instrument. This hotel isn't family friendly. Aside from the ridiculous door, the dressers are not properly secured for children. I guess the menu of complimentary request able goods is great but maybe the basics?

Exceeded all expectations! Great staff, stylish lobby, the rooms are full apartments with everything you could wish for. Huge and spacious, super clean and quiet. You can literally walk to everything on Clark Street in Andersonville. Shops, restaurants, boutiques, book stores, wine shop, etc.... I am from Chicago and was visiting. Will stay here every time now!

My family and I stayed there to attend my sisters memorial. it was not only lovely, but spacious! Both my brother and my son snore like a couple of freight trains! Not a problem because they just closed the door to their respective bedrooms! Jaime and the rest of the desk staff were fabulous (wish I could remember all their names) and are even mailing some clothing items we left in the dryer! Is that service or what? Great place I will take everyone to stay in when we come into town.

I was researching hotels for a stay with my family. My kids are a teen and college aged so we prefer to get a larger hotel room/rooms when going out of town. I wanted something more then the usual suite hotel rooms. I stumbled on this boutique hotel during my research. What a gem. We stayed in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath suite. It was basically a house. I believe the website said it was 1800 square feet. The suite was immaculate: So clean and fresh. We were all happy with what we saw when we arrived. It was soooooo roomy. So comfortable. Beds were great. More storage and closet space then you could ever even need during your stay. Even the bathroom had a huge closet. Closets on the long hallways. Full size washer and dryer as well as a full kitchen. Balcony with w table and bbq. There was a great rooftop deck. The master shower was so relaxing. All the employees we had contact with were nice and extremely helpful. The garage parking was nice to have. It was all the little details that added to it. Even down to the Beekman soaps, lotions and shampoos. This is definitely the only place we will stay on future trips. I was impressed that pricing was the same as it was going to be at the Emb*** Suites and wow there is absolutely no comparison at all. Lobby was also beautifully decorated. Highly recommend.

This place may have put me off of traditional hotels! What a lovely space, a home away from home with all the amenities you might need. There was one small issue during my stay that was apologized for repeatedly, including with this lovely note and bottle of wine. All is forgiven and I'll definitely be back again!

Unfortunately my home flooded again and needed reconstruction Again; however I was fortunate enough to be able to stay at this place again - my second home in the city. And once again they made one of the worst times in my life one of the best, easiest, peaceful times of my life. I still believe this is the Best hotel in the city! It's beautiful, it's safe, it's extremely clean, it's in a fun location, they provide everything you could ever need and the staff are the absolute BEST - they all act like they own the hotel and treat it as such. They take such pride in their work & in their guests - be it for short-term or long-term stays. The cleaning staff is outstanding and so gracious. There's so many details that I could list but I could be here all day - you just have to stay there and experience it yourself one time and then you willl never want to stay anywhere else in the city. Thank you again to Rick, Adam, the extremely talented Paul, Loretta and of course the lovely Zoey who was so sweet to ask about my reconstruction every single night when I returned and took an genuine interest in what I was going through. Cruz & I will miss you all.

The Guesthouse Hotel is lovely. Me and my (now) husband had our wedding party and family stay at the hotel during our wedding weekend and everything was perfect. Rick is so helpful and went the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of on our big day. One of my guests said this was the nicest hotel she had ever stayed in and I agree! The rooms were sparkling clean, gorgeous, and were stocked with everything we could have needed. During the summer the rooftop is probably lovely (too bad for the April blizzard on our wedding day). We took pictures in the lobby / club room and they turned out better than I could have imagined. We'll definitely be back and encourage everyone to stay here when they're visiting Chicago.

My husband, myself, and our two dogs stayed here for 3 nights while our condo was under construction. The Guesthouse is your home away from home. This boutique hotel is magnificent. Each suite is the size of a large condo and comes fully stocked with a full kitchen, washer dryer, grill, and anything you need to cook or bake. The staff is also extremely welcoming and very helpful. If your thinking about visiting Chicago and want to stay walking distance from Andersonville and Wrigley Field this is the place. We're happy to be back in our home but in the event we need a pet friendly hotel this is our #1 choice.

Stayed here for one night, in the 3 bedroom 2 bathroom suite. Staff was very helpful and friendly checking in. Rooms were clean and very spacious. Loved the decor and the master bath was very very nice. Loved that they had eye solution and other items for free in the lobby ( in case you forgot it) hate feeling overcharged on every little thing. The kitchen was fully stocked. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again if in the area.

I cannot say enough about this place, and will definitely be staying here every time I'm in Chicago. Hotel stays - whether for work or pleasure - are typically exhausting and stressful to me. However, the Guesthouse feels like a home away from home. The staff is pleasant and unobtrusive, and the fully appointed units are basically apartments. Even though we didn't cook during our stay, the kitchen, with a full size refrigerator and real coffee maker, was such a plus, allowing us to relax with coffee in the mornings and store/reheat leftovers from local restaurants. Such a nice alternative to the touristy, typical hotels downtown!

I had the chance to have my second stay during January 2021. Staff was very great in responding to needs and providing items I needed for the room. The space was clean, and my guests felt very safe. Looking forward to visit 3!

I would 100% recommend The Guesthouse for anyone looking for an extended stay or even for a couple of nights. Gorgeous hotel, friendly staff and DOG FRIENDLY! My wife and I had a destination wedding and wanted to host a small local gathering for friends that could not make the trip. The staff was completely accommodating to our request of 12 visitors and hauling up decorations, food, etc. Truly a home away from home experience. Fully furnished, kitchen stocked with silverware, glassware, full fridge, stove and small kitchen appliances. Can't say enough good things about the hotel, staff and our experience.

I wanted to like this hotel. It's very quaint and in a great area, the lobby is welcoming, warm, and cozy with a library and comfy couches. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms, upon first entry, are very nice. But after about 20 minutes into our stay, we began experiencing issues... To start, a nonstop-barking dog on our floor a few rooms down was incessant. I love dogs, but apparently the thin walls were not enough to have a peaceful room. I appreciate a hotel allowing dogs, but if they do, there should be decent sound absorption to ensure the dogless guests have a quiet stay. Upon complaining, were given a new room on another floor. It was much quieter. The room was a 2/2. However, there were still more issues. Only one burned on the stove appeared to work, and filled the room with the smell of gas. The air circulation in the bedroom was poor, and there was no fan. As I tried to sleep both nights, I heard lots of odd thumps going on in the ceiling/walls (plumbing perhaps?) which made sleep difficult. The inside shower curtain in my bathroom was stained and dirty, appearing as though the housekeeping staff did not properly clean it. I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, I did not truly enjoy my stay and would not recommend this place.

Blown away!!! A fantastic check-in experience. Room is utterly amazing. I don't think I will ever stay in any other hotel in Chicago if I can avoid it. Not centrally located, but it feels great to get out of the downtown and feel part of the neighborhoods.

After reflection I do not feel this is a dog friendly nor family friendly establishment. I stayed here over the Memorial Day holiday in 2018. I booked my stay in January of 2018 in anticipation for my sisters wedding, bringing my family and dogs in tow. The room we were assigned was directly next to the elevator and the hotel offered no sound proofing. Each time I left the room I received multiple phone calls about my dogs, not once was a room move offered. After my third night of phone calls we ( my family) decided to move hotels. We were charged for that night, along with the full security deposit ( for a spill that was cleaned) and had to call/ send multiple emails to get our last night refunded. We experienced other parking and unruly guest issues with this hotel. I will never return back. I only wish for other dog and family travelers to be aware.

I live in the neighborhood and recommended this place to my family coming for a visit. There are not many options for hotels in the area. They used to stay downtown and paid too much for a little space. At guesthouse, you basically have a condo. My family came back again and booked there without any hesitation. This time for the three bedroom since everyone came to join. They loved that it felt like their own home. Andersonville has a lot of great shops and restaurants to explore that are in walking distance. If you don't want to walk, then don't worry. Cabs are always driving up and down Clark St.

Wonderful space, beautifully decorated, hospitable staff. The Guesthouse Hotel was perfect for an afternoon tea with friends. Tea service includes tea, croissants, French macarons & more. Plenty of delicious food to be incredibly full at the end of tea! We made reservations for 7 and all of us really enjoyed the tea service. The price is low in comparison to other tea services around the city. Tea service at the Guesthouse Hotel is highly recommended!

Surprisingly beautiful and amazing place. Boss is as perfect as the place. I went with my husband n 2 kids, 2yrs n 4 yrs. The owner saw us come in late in da night and gave us an awesome upgrade. Totally loved the suite. Thank you.

We've stayed at many great, bigger name hotels in Chicago and this is without a doubt the best place we've stayed. The check-in, check-out process is convenient and everyone was pleasant and helpful. We had a spacious three bedroom suite that was completely updated and comfortable. The neighborhood is cute with plenty of food options. We had easy access to Lake Shore Drive and in non covid times, fun music venues. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel in Andersonville with balcony, individual parking garages and lots of extra amenities. Extremely clean all throughout the hotel and the staff was very helpful and kind! I would love to come back & stay again!

I recently hosted my birthday party at the Hotel with their Afternoon Tea Party offering. It was simply a wonderful experience. The General Manager was so kind and responsive throughout the planning process, even taking time to recommend places to purchase unique decorations. When we arrived, the library was already set up with perfect menu cards on each plate. We played Spotify through the library's built in speakers. The service was incredible and the attention to detail was quite frankly unmatched in any other hotel I've been in in the city. What a gorgeous back drop for my birthday! I highly recommend the tea as it is very affordable and the food is excellent.

We hosted my wife's wedding shower at The Guesthouse. It couldn't have been better! The first floor space is very comfortable, with a chic but historic feel to it. You have the ability to keep things open or separate them off. While it was a bit chilly, we also had access to the awesome roof with breathtaking views. The staff made everything very easy, connecting us with local vendors and making sure everything went off without a snag. We highly recommend The Guesthouse for both events and the rooms are nicer than any apartment I've lived in!

Fantastic. Had my parents stay here during one of their visits and I can't say enough wonderful things. It's definitely a home away from home. Ideal for people looking to stay for an extended period of time.

This is the best place by far we have ever stayed in Chicago. Private garage parking and a full kitchen. We will definitely stay here again.

This is a looong overdue review: Guesthouse was THE PERFECT place to host my bridal shower. The space is gorgeous and spacious the food and drink were perfect! Everyone loved the mimosa bar and could not stop talking about how beautiful everything was. They helped make my day perfect and I can't thank them enough!!

Absolutely the BEST! I lived on the northside of Chicago for ten years. In those ten years, as family or friends came to visit and needed hotel recommendations I always thought to myself "why are there no great hotels in the northside neighborhoods!?" WHY is everything downtown? I don't want to go downtown! The character is in the hoods! Now this was before Airbnb made the wider area more accessible for travelers enjoying Chicago, but seriously The Guesthouse Hotel has filled a niche sorely needed in Chicago forever -- and they are doing it SO SO RIGHT. I only wish I had acted first because its brilliant. Bravo, Guesthouse Hotel, bravo! I scored an amazing end of "winter" deal late April 2016 (and in that week it swung from 80 degrees to 40 degrees, so I feel the winter tagline was appropriate) for about $200/night for a gorgeous 2BR/2BA apartment. These are not hotel rooms, they are proper condos. And particularly when staying for 6 nights as I did, it was nice to have some space and feel like I was at home. My mother joined me for part of the trip and we each had our own luxurious bed (seriously, I might track down the bedding/mattress/pillow makers) and bathroom. The kitchen was decked out, the living room extremely comfortable and though I didn't use the balcony, it was there. The biggest perk for me though? The full-size high tech washer and dryer. Oh heavens, I've lived in the UK for too long (no dryers) -- it was an absolute pleasure to do my laundry. I think I did it almost every night. Because I could! I loved it! The room was spotless, pristine and well outfitted. Zero faults to be found, these rooms are top notch. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the lobby is gorgeous and welcoming (I spent a few hours working from the lobby and having a few cups of tea) and the location is excellent. Just a stone's throw from lively Andersonville but also very near Uptown/Wrigleyville/Ravenswood, etc. It's on a quiet stretch (for now) of Clark Street, so walking out onto the street is chill, no craziness like trying to get in or out of a taxi downtown. This is literally just so easy. Committed to local -- very nice selection of local products available to purchase in both the lobby AND the room. I indulged in some cookies, coffee and oatmeal, smartly placed! I also scored some shades and Chicago flag rose gold earrings in the lobby -- impulse purchase yes, but I really like them. It's gorgeous, spacious, and felt like home for the week I was there. They do long term corporate apartment rentals, are kid and dog friendly and have a great thing going. If you are trying to avoid downtown on your next visit to Chicago (I think you should) -- this is your place, check it out. As its not a big mega chain hotel their cancellation policies are a bit more stringent -- do check them out before you book. Was not an issue for me, but worth understanding. It's very clearly explained via the booking process. I want to stay here again! Send me back please! *private parking available for extra charge ($20/night). Street parking very easy but mostly metered up and down Clark. *check for specials on their deals page. *Mariano's grocery store within .5 miles -- though its a pretty long walk, I suggest either drive or taxi. *Kitchen is equipped for cooking very easily, we made most of our meals that week and cooked dinner for friends. Everything we needed was there -- though not the cooking essentials like salt, butter, oil, etc. A starter pack of these items would be great - that's my only recommendation! (I hate buying a huge thing of salt when I need it for about 2 seconds). *Super easy/free wifi access.

The Guesthouse gets all the details right. The rooms are essentially new yuppie condos, so it really doesn't feel like you're staying in a hotel. The kitchen is well-stocked with equipment, and there's a grill on the balcony. Everyone on staff is friendly and helpful. The rooftop decks are beautiful; I wish they were open past 9 p.m. The library has hundreds of books you can borrow. It was fascinating to browse. It's a highbrow collection with many scholarly books on a wide range of topics, and quite a few first editions. One of the staff members told me it was the library of one of the owners' parents, who obviously had a healthy intellectual curiosity. The surrounding neighborhood is pretty, and I saw parents pushing strollers and walking with their kids at 9 p.m. I chose the Guesthouse because of its proximity to a client I was visiting, but I'd go out of my way to stay here.

Spent two full months staying at The Guesthouse while our condo was under construction and we could not have had a better experience. The staff was always super friendly and accommodating even when we had to keep extending our stay week by week as the project at home got delayed. We had our dog and 4 month old baby with us as well so it was a relief to find a place that was so friendly to both pets and babies as they had everything we needed on hand from cribs, rockers, jumpers, high chairs, bath supplies, dog beds, bowls etc. We were incredibly thankful the "rooms" are really two bed/two bath apartments so we had a space that felt like home. Andersonville is a great neighborhood that we enjoyed exploring while staying there, the hotel is a few minute walk to a ton of bars, restaurants, and shops. We were able to get to a Cubs game during our stay as well that was a quick uber ride to the game and about a 30-40 minute walk back afterwards. Getting to downtown is an easy drive or cab down Lake Shore that at most times is under 20 minutes as well. I would highly recommend the Guesthouse for a quick or extended stay and if you are traveling with a family or pets then it is a no brainer, don't even consider staying elsewhere.

Nice hotel - more like an apartment within a hotel. Front desk staff were excellent. I stayed there with friends for a conference and it was quite a distance to travel each day to McCormick Place. There's a great jazz bar down the street - Green Mills - very cool place. No restaurant at hotel but many nearby.

This is an exceptional hotel. The rooms are fully furnished vacation suites. They are "move in" ready with all convinces of home and amenities of hotel. Roof deck and garage parking awesome extras as was boutique shop in lobby. Greeted with warm cookies on check in. Rooms were super comfy and friendly hotel staff. Close to beaches and local restaurants and things to do. Highly recommend.

The 3 bedroom was perfect. It felt like we were staying in an apartment rather than an hotel. Great location. Loved the available parking. This will be my place for future visits to Chicago. Highly recommend, especially if you have a family.

Great place. It felt like being at home but better. We had 3 different families staying in different condo's and they were all lovely. Staff was terrific and was always there to help in any way.

Cannot say enough about The Guesthouse Hotel. We loved our stay in Chicago mostly because of our great accommodations. So clean and comfortable. Convenient to so much. We walked to Wrigley Field to see the Cubs win. The restaurants and shops on Clark Street provide all you need. Close to the Lake Shore and the El. Additional plusses were being pet friendly and a garage for an extra fee. Well be back for sure.

Welcome to The Guesthouse Hotel, the only hotel that proved that bigger is not alway better and that looks can deceive you. Upon my arrival to the hotel, I was a little creeped out because of its location across from a cemetery. However, the stay itself was one that I will never forget. The staff members are helpful and easy to talk to. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a spacious full kitchen and living room area. And there are so many things to do during the days like go to restaurants in the vicinity, catch the train, and walk around the residential neighborhoods that are quaint and lovely. Overall, I had a great stay at the Guesthouse Hotel and would love to go back there any day. I highly recommend over a "regular hotel"

Stayed here on a recent visit to Chicago instead of one of the downtown or suburban hotels. I'm glad I did as the location has a much more interesting neighborhood feel rather than being a dead after 5 business district or chainsville like other Chicagoland hotels I've stayed at. The rooms are more like a decent-sized city apartment with a full kitchen rather than a typical room. Had my stay been a bit longer I would've used the kitchen more than I did. One thing I would say is that don't let the immediate surroundings color your expectations. There is a cemetery across the street and a couple of auto repair places adjacent to the hotel, but if you walk a block or two you'll be in a very lively area with plenty of things to do.

Can't recommend this place enough. I wish there was one in every city. Immaculate rooms tastefully designed. Central location if you're staying in that area of Chicago. Helpful staff. I think the free coffee in my room was decaf as I remember but hey I can walk down the street and get a coffee I'm not an unreasonable man. They don't have daily room service but let's face it if you really need that you might want to look into your problem with messiness and/or mess making. Chicago is a great city, don't you forget it. Stay here when your there. There's a great breakfast place right down the street -- I forget the name of it but rest assured I don't say that about every breakfast place out there.

We loved our time at The Guesthouse Hotel! We needed a place to stay for approx 2 weeks during renovations. With two kids, a standard hotel room wasn't an option which led us here. It was perfect! It lives like a condo, close to all Andersonville's hot spots, and the staff is very friendly (especially the manager, Rick). Highly recommend!

Amazing! We have stayed at The Guesthouse hotel off and on over many years and we have always enjoyed (not a strong enough word) our visits. The facilities and rooms are outstanding and the care and warmth of the management and staff are beyond expectations. We look forward to our visits there, not only because this location is convenient to the family we are visiting and everything else in Chicago, but also because it feels like we are on a special vacation retreat. Excellent rooms, excellent staff service, special efforts to accommodate our extra needs to care for our dog and visiting toddlers, convenient location to great local food, shops, etc. and greater Chicago locations and we always feel comfortable staying here. I don't write many reviews, but our experience with the Guesthouse hotel is worth this simple effort. Make a reservation, you won't be disappointed.

I HIGHLY recommend - This hotel was definitely a wonderful surprise! During the very cold days around New Years Eve, my sewer pipes froze. Since it was difficult to find a plumber on New Year's Day, I had to find a hotel for me and my two small dogs. This place was so charming and felt like home from the lobby, to the one bedroom apartment, comfortable furniture, plush bed & linens, full amenities Kitchen and even my own garage parking space. The staff was so flexible and nice to work with. Checkout time is normally at 10 am, but they agreed to wait until later in the afternoon once a plumber came to my house so that I could determine if I needed to stay another night. It's in a quiet neighborhood and good area for walking my dogs in the early morning. There is a cute little bar in the lobby and someone on staff at all times if you need help. Grocery/Food delivery services are near by including GrubHub delivery.

GH is a find in a locale that is welcomingly diverse. The hotel IS located across from a well kept cemetery and nearby are a few auto body shops but... within walking distance or short rides are shops, grocery, drug store, eateries, bars and good vibes. This venue is upscale with terrific amenities, rooftop views, room appointments and welcoming staff. Easy booking. Check-in is at 4pm and checkout at 10am. Parking is limited. Housekeeping is minimalistic but available, if needed; we, frankly, enjoyed the privacy. The bed coverings and pillows, top notch. Clean. Spacious. Doable for lengthy city stays with fully furnished kitchen, modern furnishings, and washer & dryer, in our 2 bedroom unit. Elevators, yes! All in all, after visiting this city for decades, we are thrilled to find this hotel that allows us to "live like a local" and we will return.

This is my favorite hotel. Period. Amazing rooms, super nice and chill front desk. They sell GOOD wine and craft beer, and the price is damned good considering you're getting a large apartment! I've never given a hotel review. This one deserves gushing! And the beds had me sleeping like a rock-which is not my norm!

If you are looking for a hotel to really enjoy the neighborhoods of Chicago, Guesthouse Hotel is the one to choose! This place is not only beautiful but great for parties of more than 2. My family and I recently stayed there to cheer on the Chicago Cubs and the layout of the hotel rooms were perfect for a larger group wanting to kick back and relax all together. The staff at the hotel are so friendly and helpful. I recently left a diamond necklace in the walkin closet and I was afraid it was gone forever. I happened to call to see if a housekeeper found it and they did! The staff put in an envelope and mailed it to me in Minneapolis! What amazing service and I highly recommend this place for your next trip to Chicago! It's my new home away from home and the best part is - you get to enjoy the local bars, restaurants and shops in the neighborhood!

This place is absolutely amazing. I would stay here every chance I get. The price was not bad when we stayed. You feel right at home. You have a garage your own balcony with a grill. They also except pets at no additional charge. I would pick this place any day over a hotel. The people who work there are very nice and accommodating! Would give them 109 stars I would

Condo living at cheaper than hotel prices. The Guesthouse Hotel allowed my family of five to maintain our daily routine with little distruption while our Chicago home's floors were being refinished. A full kitchen, washer & dryer, multiple bedrooms & parking allowed us to continue to "live like locals" even when temporarily displaced from our home. We had ample space to spread out and not feel cramped, were able to save $ by cooking our own meals and were even able to bring our pet. We can't thank the Guesthouse enough for making a stressful time much easier to manage by providing us a home away from home. We will use the Guesthouse again when extended family visits for holidays/baptisms/etc. I am so happy to have a neighborhood option that is close to home and doesn't require family to pay downtown prices. The cozy fireplace was welcoming in the winter and the private deck would be perfect for enjoying warmer weather. There is no room service, but there is an extensive delivery menu with local restaurant partners. There were options that suited the tastes of us all from ages 8-40. The full kitchen in our unit was stocked with all the cooking tools and dishes needed to make all our meals ourselves if we chose. Grocery delivery is also offered. I enjoyed a wonderful massage at Revive Spa, directly next door. All the amenities you'd appreciate at a larger hotel are convenient, even if not housed directly within the building. The fitness room was small (one treadmill, bike & rowing machine), but was never full and access to the equipment was never a challenge. The building was very secure with all entries requiring a key and delivery people escorted to the units by staff.

This place is incredible! I'm loving it so much that I'm writing a review mid-trip (and see my profile, I rarely review anything.) I'm staying here with a pack of friends, children included. Having space to hang out after bedtime was crucial. The Guesthouse is perfect for large groups and traveling with children. They include everything for kids- from crib to high chair and stroller, bath toys, baby monitor and supply cups, all for free. Because of this, we didn't have to check bags and the entire travel experience has been smoother. There is a full kitchen and living room, so mealtime and playtime are happening without the usual confinements of traveling.The furnishings are beautiful and comfortable- it doesn't "look" kid-friendly. Cannot say enough good things!

Beautiful, spacious condo that had immaculate bathrooms and kitchen. High ceilings, private garage, nice fireplace. Above all, the staff and service was excellent. In particular, I received excellent customer service from the general manager, Rick. I highly recommend choosing this hotel!
