"The Guesthouse Vienna Since opening in October 2013, the Guesthouse has filled a niche in Innere Stadt, or the first district: a classy boutique hotel that allows guests to live like a temporary and incredibly stylish resident. Architect Arkan Zeytinoglu transformed this former 1950s student hostel into an upscale hotel noted for its pop-out windows. Sir Terence Conran brought a timeless, fuss-free Viennese design to the interior for a home-away-from-home feel. All rooms have exquisitely built Wittmann sofas atop the wood floors, and rooms facing the Albertina feature Friedrich Kiesler’s cantilever chairs designed in the 1930s. The sleek bathroom includes clear glass rainforest showers and bathtubs, as well as amenities like handmade soaps from Viennese maker Wolfgang Lederhaas and other bath products by Molton Brown."

The Guesthouse Vienna (Vienna, Austria) 37 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Glittering palaces, opulent opera houses, spotless glass cases displaying the Austrian Crown Jewels — walking around Vienna, it feels like the whole city is gilded with delicate gold leaf. It’s a formal aesthetic that carries over to the city’s grand hotels, and a standard that makes The Guesthouse, a cool, pared-down hotel with 39 contemporary rooms and suites, stand out in contrast. As the name implies, the Guesthouse isn’t a traditional hotel: staying here is more like having the keys to a spacious designer apartment with a few extra services. There’s no swimming pool, in other words, but guest rooms feature separate living and sleeping areas, espresso machines, and complimentary bottles of wine — that’s bottles, plural." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed at the Guesthouse Vienna for 4 night on a short break. The location is perfect, a few steps to the Albertina, the Hofburg and the Spanish Riding School, the opera house, the Cathedral and the other city centre attractions. Five minutes walk gets you to the tram or the underground railway for trips further out to say the Belvedere or Schonbrunn. Our room was on the 7th floor with a great cityscape view. The room was really good quality with both a bath tub and separate rain shower, comfortable seating and a well stocked mini bar included in our room rate and replenished daily. We had breakfast in the hotel each day - a great menu with options for all tastes. The restaurant is clearly really popular with locals at breakfast time so booking a table is pretty much essential. The food and service are top class. We had one evening meal in the hotel which was equally good, on the other days we used restaurants recommended by the hotel and were not disappointed. The staff team could not be more friendly or helpful. A great experience and would definitely stay again.

Undoubtedly the best hotel we have ever stayed at - even the rave reviews don’t do it justice. We were continually surprised by the brilliant service - cake as it was my Birthday, mini bar topped up sometimes twice a day, a thoughtful pillow spray before bed and we even departed with some chocolates for the journey. The kindness and politeness of the hotel staff was exemplary. ||The location could not be bettered and you only have to see how busy the restaurant was particularly for breakfast and lunch to see that the locals love this place too.

Wonderful hotel in an excellent location. The room was very clean, quiet and had an awesome view. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious with all the amenities you could need. The restaurant downstairs was great and it is popular so make a reservation for breakfast, etc. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We were able to walk to almost every attraction and the shopping nearby was incredible. Very high end shopping. Highly recommend a stay at The Guesthouse. You won't be disappointed.

This hotel is a hidden gem. Perfect location, fantastic staff, wonderful cafe and restaurant, all in the centre of Vienna. The hotel is very stylishly designed. It’s right behind the opera house, but quiet and screened by trees. The best shops are five minutes walk. Everything about it is lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. You need to book a table for breakfast or lunch, even if you are staying, as it is so popular with locals. Rightly so! I’m worried about saying how amazing it is as I want to be able to stay again without it being fully booked. There are only 37 rooms!

Fabulous hotel in central Vienna. Greeted warmly on arrival and phoned when our room was ready. Room itself was lovely, spacious with a little book nook overlooking the park, and the complimentary wine and beer in the fridge was a lovely touch. Only tried the cake in the cafe but it was first class. Rooms very clean and the staff super friendly all round the clock. Only small issue was the room didn't get cleaned until late afternoon so that disrupted us a couple of times, but no big deal, would definitely recommend.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Guesthouse Vienna in June 2024, and I’m long overdue in sharing how memorable the experience was. This charming 38-room boutique hotel is perfectly nestled in the heart of Vienna, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. The little touches stood out immediately — from the complimentary bottles of red and white wine waiting in the room to the attentive and helpful bellmen who made arrivals and departures seamless. My room was beautifully appointed, comfortable, and offered wonderful views of the city that made waking up each morning a treat. The lobby restaurant is not to be missed — stylish yet relaxed, with incredible food that set the tone for the rest of my time in Vienna. Everything about the property feels thoughtfully curated, striking the right balance between modern comfort and boutique charm. I’d happily return on my next trip to Vienna and recommend The Guesthouse Vienna to anyone looking for a stay that feels both special and welcoming.

Superior size of the room, bright, amazing view (facing Albertina), bathroom / bathtub is awesome - spacious, great water temperature and pressure. Loved how this boutique hotel is located in the center of the buzz and keeping its style. Loved how this property pampers its guests - bring your bottle! Cute brochures in the room, amazing service standard since check-in - getting music event ticket, recommendation of the bars, etc…It would be very difficult for me to switch hotel next time in Vienna! 10 out of 10 perfect score place.

We were very happy with this hotel. It is a charming, yet hip boutique hotel. The location cannot be beat. The service and hospitality were top notch. We loved having the refrigerator stalked with drinks!

Yelp
This front desk is awesome--friendly and helpful. They do everything with a smile and go above and beyond their duties. We received 4 bottles of wine, complimentary, a day!! The room was very clean and comfortable and the location is awesome. Thanks for a perfect, 5 Star, stay!

Yelp
We had breakfast here after getting tipped off by Trip Advisor. It was nice. Very nice, comfortable ambiance. It had free wifi as well. And the place was quite busy. The servers seemed a bit overwhelmed as the place probably could have used a few more waitstaff. The food was quite tasty. I got the eggs amelie and sacher sausage. They were beautifully presented and pretty good! An enjoyable meal overall.

Yelp
Very nice hotel, stylish and with great location. Small rooms, breakfast a la carte. Located at the back of the opera house, it is hard to imagine more central location, tourist wise of course. The rooms are in the 70s style with every detail, from lamp to armchair. Of course this comes at a price of 200+ Euro a night or more. But it was quite a unique experience.

Yelp
We had dinner at the Brasserie at the Guesthouse this past sunday, sad to say, the meal fell short of expectations in every regard. Starting off with the pumpkin soup (w/o the smoked trout crostini), the flavor was overpowering on paprika to the point that one could hardly tell that the base was pumpkin. The consistency was also too thin and unlike any pumpkin soup I've had before. For main course we ordered the pumpkin ravioli (pumpkin crazy) and the veal stew. Firstly the veal stew - not only did the taste not quite live up to expectations in any regard, there was also barely any meat to be found in the soup. My dining companion reminisced on middle school cafeteria food in scotland when having the stew.. The pumpkin ravioli was watery and overcooked, with blanched apple bits scattered all around the dish. None of the ingredients worked together creating a salty/sweet mess. The saving grace was the St. Laurant red wine, which tasted quite nice and was priced well. For a EUR100+ meal this was unacceptable as a whole. For a hotel restaurant the ambience is quite nice, unfortunately the food is near in-edible.

Yelp
This place was great! The concierge were polite and extremely informative. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom in our room was large. I was shocked but they provided 4 bottles of wine in our room complimentary. Good local wine I think. There was also an espresso machine in the room. My husband and I are breakfast one morning in the cafe. The prices were average. I think is paid 8,50 for eggs Benedict and it was delicious. Also A+ for location. Mid way between st Stephens cathedral and the museum district. Easy walking to the nearest Ubahn too.

Yelp
Bad coffee. This review needs to be longer. Even longer. Ever more words to say the exact same thing: bad coffee.

Yelp
We had a great experience in this hotel. The staff are super polite and helpful. The room were comfy and the four complimentary wine per night and the complimentary soft drinks were just a great add on.
