"The Guesthouse Vienna Since opening in October 2013, the Guesthouse has filled a niche in Innere Stadt, or the first district: a classy boutique hotel that allows guests to live like a temporary and incredibly stylish resident. Architect Arkan Zeytinoglu transformed this former 1950s student hostel into an upscale hotel noted for its pop-out windows. Sir Terence Conran brought a timeless, fuss-free Viennese design to the interior for a home-away-from-home feel. All rooms have exquisitely built Wittmann sofas atop the wood floors, and rooms facing the Albertina feature Friedrich Kiesler’s cantilever chairs designed in the 1930s. The sleek bathroom includes clear glass rainforest showers and bathtubs, as well as amenities like handmade soaps from Viennese maker Wolfgang Lederhaas and other bath products by Molton Brown."

The Guesthouse Vienna (Vienna, Austria) 37 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Glittering palaces, opulent opera houses, spotless glass cases displaying the Austrian Crown Jewels — walking around Vienna, it feels like the whole city is gilded with delicate gold leaf. It’s a formal aesthetic that carries over to the city’s grand hotels, and a standard that makes The Guesthouse, a cool, pared-down hotel with 39 contemporary rooms and suites, stand out in contrast. As the name implies, the Guesthouse isn’t a traditional hotel: staying here is more like having the keys to a spacious designer apartment with a few extra services. There’s no swimming pool, in other words, but guest rooms feature separate living and sleeping areas, espresso machines, and complimentary bottles of wine — that’s bottles, plural." - Tablet Hotels

Great hote! The room was spacious, stylish, very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. We asked to switch to firmer pillows and the staff handled it right away. The minibar was a real highlight – restocked daily with water, soft drinks, wine, and beer, all free of charge – plus a great coffee machine in the room. Toiletries from a boutique Austrian brand were a lovely touch. Location is excellent. Highly recommended!

We chose the guest house for its spectacular location but received far more than that in return. We have been in many hotels with outstanding service and this hotel is up there with the best. Kind, helpful and smart touches across the board. When we came back from our first day of touring the staff provided for a slice of cake having heard it was my birthday the night before. When you find that kind of thoughtful service cherish it. The rooms are intelligently laid out and maximize the usability of the ample room. The mini bar, mostly included, is stocked, and restocked daily with (excellent) wine, beer and water. The decor is modern, the lighting controls intelligent and easy and best of all during a very hot trip to Europe, the AC was effective. The only negative I can think of is the use of the single blanket per person which is apparently the style now in Europe.||It was fantastic to be able to communicate this feedback directly to the owner of this boutique hotel, who visits each of his two hotels to personally assure the quality and supervision of staff. ||The price we paid for this hotel was a ridiculous bargain for a location literally right in the middle of the most charming part of Vienna, with copious cultural, eating and shopping experiences.

We had an incredible three night stay at this hotel, our favourite in Austria. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, the whole hotel is full of art, the downstairs restaurant does a killer breakfast and the location is absolutely ideal. Recommend room 602 which has a reading nook overlooking the city.

Stayed here for 3 nights in the deluxe room (family of 3) although we’ve been countless times to the brasserie because we love the food and the service. This was our first time staying at the hotel, we usually do air bnb as we come to Vienna every summer. Our stay started as a 3, here’s why: - first night we stayed on the first floor and it was very loud later in the evening because you could hear the music from the restaurant and the bass was thumping up through the floor and it was just noisy in general. If you stay here, stay on a higher floor. We mentioned this to the front desk reception and they moved us to a higher floor for night 2 and 3. Great service. - when we arrived, we had our car out front to unload our bags. While we were checking in, the valet came over to us and rudely told us that we cannot leave our car there. At all hotels, the first question should be “may I move your car for you to the lot” as that’s exactly what we intended on doing. So we found it odd as it wasn’t the best first impression Our stay improved - the rooms are really well equipped and very spacious, beautiful, comfortable and stylish. Our daughter loved the little nook with cushions at the window. The rooms are stocked with free water and bottles of wine which you can bring to the restaurant free of charge. This is why it started out as a 3 but improved to a 4. The front desk reception were wonderful, service oriented and pleasant. We had dinner and breakfast at the brasserie and also sat on the patio many times for a drink and snack on our 3 night stay. I will do a separate review for that of the brasserie but definitely try the bio lemonade with thyme and lemon - it’s divine!

Our experience at The Guesthouse was very lovely from start to finish. Not only was the service impeccable (which made us feel warmly welcomed at the start of our trip), we managed to get an upgrade to a really lovely suite loft unit at the very top of the hotel! ||The view was really amazing. Being able to drink some wine (there are 4 complimentary bottles of wine in their wine fridge) by the windows overlooking the Albertina and State Opera House was a sublime experience! ||The hotel also has a decent ala carte breakfast which was not included as part of the room package, but for which we gladly paid for. We could even bring our wine down to drink with the breakfast. ||All in all, the Guesthouse was a lovely start to our trip and a home away from home!

Google
I Highly recommend this hotel. The hotel deserves 5 stars just for the in room espresso maker. The complimentary wine and soft drinks were a welcome bonus. Even the smaller room was well appointed and comfortable. The location is very convenient and the staff are very helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay..

The Guesthouse is in a great location and only a short walk to many museums, art galleries, concert venues, shops, restaurant and major tourist attractions. Our room was very spacious with large bathroom and good size sitting area. Hotel staff were helpful and provided useful suggestions and assistance as it was our first time in Vienna. The Guesthouse restaurant provides very good food options for any time of the day but also a great place to just sit and have a coffee or drink. I look forward to returning in the future.

Yelp
This front desk is awesome--friendly and helpful. They do everything with a smile and go above and beyond their duties. We received 4 bottles of wine, complimentary, a day!! The room was very clean and comfortable and the location is awesome. Thanks for a perfect, 5 Star, stay!

Yelp
We had breakfast here after getting tipped off by Trip Advisor. It was nice. Very nice, comfortable ambiance. It had free wifi as well. And the place was quite busy. The servers seemed a bit overwhelmed as the place probably could have used a few more waitstaff. The food was quite tasty. I got the eggs amelie and sacher sausage. They were beautifully presented and pretty good! An enjoyable meal overall.

Yelp
Very nice hotel, stylish and with great location. Small rooms, breakfast a la carte. Located at the back of the opera house, it is hard to imagine more central location, tourist wise of course. The rooms are in the 70s style with every detail, from lamp to armchair. Of course this comes at a price of 200+ Euro a night or more. But it was quite a unique experience.

Yelp
We had dinner at the Brasserie at the Guesthouse this past sunday, sad to say, the meal fell short of expectations in every regard. Starting off with the pumpkin soup (w/o the smoked trout crostini), the flavor was overpowering on paprika to the point that one could hardly tell that the base was pumpkin. The consistency was also too thin and unlike any pumpkin soup I've had before. For main course we ordered the pumpkin ravioli (pumpkin crazy) and the veal stew. Firstly the veal stew - not only did the taste not quite live up to expectations in any regard, there was also barely any meat to be found in the soup. My dining companion reminisced on middle school cafeteria food in scotland when having the stew.. The pumpkin ravioli was watery and overcooked, with blanched apple bits scattered all around the dish. None of the ingredients worked together creating a salty/sweet mess. The saving grace was the St. Laurant red wine, which tasted quite nice and was priced well. For a EUR100+ meal this was unacceptable as a whole. For a hotel restaurant the ambience is quite nice, unfortunately the food is near in-edible.

Yelp
This place was great! The concierge were polite and extremely informative. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom in our room was large. I was shocked but they provided 4 bottles of wine in our room complimentary. Good local wine I think. There was also an espresso machine in the room. My husband and I are breakfast one morning in the cafe. The prices were average. I think is paid 8,50 for eggs Benedict and it was delicious. Also A+ for location. Mid way between st Stephens cathedral and the museum district. Easy walking to the nearest Ubahn too.

Yelp
Bad coffee. This review needs to be longer. Even longer. Ever more words to say the exact same thing: bad coffee.

Yelp
We had a great experience in this hotel. The staff are super polite and helpful. The room were comfy and the four complimentary wine per night and the complimentary soft drinks were just a great add on.
