I have never been here and how they have restored since the fire is amazing. I walked around intrigued at how they used some of the charred wood and mixed old with new. The service was great and the food delicious. Big serves and so fresh.

Beautifully renovated building. We’ve been here a multiple times and some of the dishes have been great and equally as many have been very average. On the pricier side of a pub, but big serves. Staff are friendly, but not a fan of sitting in front of empty dishes for long periods of time and not getting cleared whilst you watch them go and fiddle with empty tables. Always have to ask constantly for new water jugs after they’ve been sitting empty a while. Yes, we order other drinks as well but considering this past (and coming) week have been 35°+ and the aircon is struggling, you don’t want to be sitting there thirsty and with flies swarming due to plates just sitting there. Needs a better focus on the people currently in the establishment rather than people who aren’t there. Off road car park available.

Been too The Guildford Hotel a number of times now. Has become my local to be honest. Service is great, food is always great. The chicken parma is on is point always, but so much to choose from. Has a massive space to sit in there new renovation, with pool tables and other bits for the kids too. Definitely a place to try if you’re around the area!! Cheers guys see you soon

The smoked brisket burger was a masterpiece. The brisket was perfectly smoked, tender and juicy that was simply irresistible. It was generously piled on a bun. Each bite was an explosion of flavours that left me craving more. The chips were equally impressive and seasoned perfectly. Adding to the overall perfectly dining experience was the rustic building making it a very enjoyable lunch

I cannot express enough how disappointed my family and I were with every aspect of our visit to The Guildford Hotel. After planning our day around having lunch at the pub, we arrived with high expectations, only to be let down at every turn. We sat at a table that was half-covered with dirty glasses and plates, waiting for someone to clear it. After 30 minutes of being ignored, my wife took it upon herself to clean the table. A manager even walked past the mess, looked directly at it, and said, “I don’t have time for that,” which was incredibly unprofessional. After finally placing our order, we waited over an hour for our food, only to be further disappointed by the quality. The steak sandwich was a complete letdown—the steak was overcooked, the lettuce was carelessly hanging out of the sandwich, and the overall presentation was dismal. It was, without exaggeration, the worst steak sandwich I’ve ever had. My mother-in-law ordered the charred fennel salad, which was a sea of lettuce with only three small pieces of fennel scattered throughout. My wife’s salad was missing key ingredients, including eggs and croutons. While we considered pointing out these issues, the thought of waiting another hour for a replacement meal was unbearable. The entire experience, from the service to the food, was incredibly disappointing and not at all what we expected. We left feeling frustrated and let down after what should have been an enjoyable family outing.

The Guildford Hotel offers a delightful blend of history and modern charm. Located in the heart of Guildford, this heritage-listed building is beautifully restored, boasting original architecture paired with contemporary design elements. The ambiance is vibrant, particularly in the bar and dining areas. The menu features a diverse selection of dishes, with a focus on wood-fired and smoked flavors, offering options to satisfy both casual diners and food enthusiasts. The cocktail list is creative, and the beer selection includes both local brews and international favorites. Service is generally friendly and attentive, although the venue can get quite busy during peak hours, which might cause slight delays. Still, the lively atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a social gathering or celebration. The hotel also accommodates private events, with versatile spaces that retain the building’s historical charm while providing modern amenities. For a night out, a casual lunch, or even a special occasion, the Guildford Hotel delivers a unique experience that captures the essence of Guildford’s rich history and vibrant community.

Booked early (5pm) for 4 people on a busy Sat night in good weather. LOTS of people already here eating evidence of how popular this place is. The venue has a cool vibe and nice ambience and has internal dining as well as tables out the front and a garden area. We at inside and the chairs are comfy and good distance between tables. Unusually for me I did the entire table order and drinks via table QR code. Good menu selection and reasonably priced. Our food arrived correctly without any undue delay. Lijewise our drinjs. Out waiter delivered our drinks quickly and provided chilled water. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. Vacated tables were quickly cleared and cleaned prep'd for the next lot of customers. Our food was excellent, hot, delivered correctly and was good size portions. At the end of the meal the duty manager (?) came over to make sure our meal was to our satisfaction which it was in spades. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Can thoroughly and happily recommend. Spent just under $50@ person for our visit which I think is good value. Stay well and travel safe

Underdelivered, the Caesar salad was nice but the chicken was so dry. The bang bang lettuce cups were nice but the size of the lettuce swamped the dish. Some of the advertised wines were not available. Busy family pub with the food coming out quite quickly.

Yelp
This pub certainly had quite a lot of character, but then again it does happen to be in one of the older suburbs in Perth, so I guess the character does somewhat leech from the surroundings. However, as a pub it is actually pretty good, and the service is quite outstanding as well, at least in my mind. Another thing, other than the rather nice beer garden, and of course the verandah, is that they have a good range of beers on tap as well. Yeah, this is definitely a pub that I like.

Yelp
After eight years the Guildford Hotel re-opened last week; and hasn't it been popular? Packed houses from the opening and unless you get along early enough very hard to grab yourself a seat - but all so worth it. We got along on the afternoon it opened to the public, back the next day for lunch, and once again during the week - with the expectation of spending at least part of WA Day there tomorrow. It is a fabulous renovation - blending old with new - previously covered fireplaces and parts of the fire damaged floor boards restored as centrepieces, terrazzo tiling, a fabulous beer garden with three large bbq smokers turning out meaty delights, retractable roof to allow the air in when the weather is clement, a great bar area upstairs with balcony seating, chesterfields around an open wood fire - and of course topping it all off the silvery- grey shimmering belvedere signalling the old place is back, better than ever. And it is hard to speak too highly of the staff - everyone we have come across is friendly, welcoming, professional, smiling - all adds to a great experience. The food on offer is pub style but of a very good quality - mainly designed to share, but with a few larger dishes and burgers, and of course the smoked and barbequed meat - brisket, sticky pork and lamb ribs available from the smokers. A Moreton Bay bug roll came in a sweetish bun - the kind you will get in Singapore or Penang - crumbly and moreish filled with juicy, succulent bug meat and slathered with spicy mayo - very pleasant indeed. Prawn ceviche tacos on a soft tortilla with salsa, guacamole and coriander - the prawn meat moist, tender, well- seasoned; the salsa giving a zesty lift and the creamy guacamole calming things down. Inside a steamed bao bun fried green tomato, salty, vinegary, spicy kimchi and smoky bbq sauce all combined for an excellent snack. Kung pow prawns - split tigers, roasted, smeared with chopped chilli and miso marinade were sweet, crunchy, spicy - will be back for more of these! A dish of black bean hummus - nutty and buttery was served with charred bread and a small jar of chopped pico de gallo salsa - lots of fresh and refreshing flavours here. Something out of the box were the fried cheeseburger spring rolls - burger meat in a spring roll - juicy and different. Crisp croquettes were filled with corn and jalapenos turned through melted manchego; a serve of salted popcorn alongside and another well put together dish. Every dish we had hit all the required markers - easy to eat, full of flavour and contrasting texture - great variety of offerings, well priced and very quick to be served especially in light of the number of customers crowding in. My only quibble - and it is a small one- is the lack of local wines on offer - and by that I mean Swan Valley and Perth Hills - they do have some of the fabulous wines of John Kosovich and one white from Mandoon - but being the entry to the Valley I hope that more are added in coming months. Having said that the list has a reasonable range - a couple of dozen red and rosé and similar number of whites and sparkling. Our Forest Hill Estate Riesling, Chant du Midi rosé and Partisan by Jove Tempranillo were all fine wines. The Riesling has aromas of citrus blossom and apple; while the crisp, elegant palate is full of crunchy green apple and lime flavours, supported by fine acidity - another excellent Riesling from the Great Southern. The Tempranillo is an impressive offering from McLaren Vale -deep purple with a lilting bouquet of blackberries, plums and a lingering note of cloves; the silky smooth palate exhibits flavours of plums and liquorice with a spicy backdrop. The French rosé is pale with strawberry notes, a crisp, dry slightly savoury palate - great current drinking. It has been a long wait for Guildford residents and for a time we thought the day would never come - but it has and the wait has been worth it - the Guildford will take its place near or at the top of the attractions and destinations in our historic town. Get along there and check it out.

Yelp
The cheeseburger spring rolls are a surprising delight. The carbonara croquettes are even better and the Beef brisket was 5 star. A neat looking bar with a great selection of tap beers...how can you go wrong. Great service and excellent ambience. Highly recommended

Yelp
Went into the old Guildford hotel with high hopes. Ordered tacos, bao buns and some chips. Bao Buns weren't bad but expensive. Tacos were pathetic and over priced. Meat was dry, smaller than a 20cent piece of meat per taco, and tasted stale. Chips were defiantly recooked and tasted stale. Food took all of 6mins to be served. Given the hotel was almost full this concerned me a lot as to how long the food had been sitting there. Chips being recooked was one thing but we noticed the tacos sauce had seeped through meaning it had been sitting there for sometime. Found staff clueless and rude at times. Probably wont go back. The Guildford needs to remember what it was.

Yelp
3 stars from me unfortunately. The building and staff are amazing but the food and drink prices just didn't do it for me. We ordered downstairs and my food was on the table 1 minute after I sat back down which makes me think just how "fresh" my food was. Expensive food served in small portions with plain white basic slices of bread and a pickle, also $10 - $12 for a schooner is too expensive. Will go back in a few months once the hype has gone and will update my review.

Yelp
If you want a seat, get in early coz this place gets packed really quickly. We tried just the one handed foods and they were all great. Cheeseburger spring rolls, buttermilk chicken, manchego corn croquettes and the kung pow prawns are so delicious. The whipped blue cheese was really nice too, we just wished you could just buy it separately without the veggies but it was all good. Had a Pimm's Twist which was lovely too. We just had a hard time getting a table coz we came almost at 7pm on a Saturday night so it was really busy but all in all we had a nice chill dinner #party

Andrew H.

Yelp
Would of loved to give this 5 Stars as a lot of work has gone in to this place and it looks great. I went on a Saturday lunch with family and struggled to get a table it was so busy. The whole set up is ready for busy, from the menu to the extra food ordering stations and the cute buckets you fill your cutlery and napkins in they can handle busy very well. The food was good I had the buttermilk fried chicken and the cheeseburger spring rolls which went down a treat. Fortunately I don't drink with beer @ $11 a schooner I do feel that is a tad greedy and so hence the loss of a star. A great place for a fun dining experience in a brilliantly designed venue

Yelp
The revamp is amazing. Huge place with great staff and including the old style with a bit of new look whilst not forgetting what happened is a stroke of genius. So many different areas will probably have a function here at some point. Love it!

Yelp
We went on a Friday night and it was packed! The new decor looked great and it had a really pumping vibe, loved the heaters outside, didn't get food but the stuff coming out looked like tasty junk food

Kathy C.

Yelp
Wow The Guildford hotel looks fabulous has great atmosphere with a lot spunk to it been told by many how busy this place gets and you can't book a table so we went there for lunch Friday we got there early 11.15am By 11.45am it was getting pretty busy great choice food drinks on menu loved the way they food was served in large baking Trays staff waitress Bartenders pleasant theres atm in pub if you can't get parking at side heaps parking back streets love this pub for me it's a winner would rate it 8/10

Jamie P.

Yelp
Waited over an hour for food, yes it was busy but an hour for fried food and burgers is ridiculous, especially when it comes out and is below average, the steak sandwich was unimpressive and burger patty was burnt. The only good food was the butter milk chicken tenders. Wont return here.

Liv B.

Yelp
I'm hoping once they settle in the food might reflect pub grub a bit better. The place is huge & it's order at the bar, collect your cutlery & wait for the food to rock up. SO much has gone into the building and fit out, it's stunning! I'm just hoping they switch from the Southern American trend soon, it wasn't done that well unfortunately & for me, when I go to a pub, I kinda want pub food. Hopefully they can work out parking as well - can be a bit of a struggle. Glad to have it open & will go back, loving what it's doing for the area.

Yelp
Great new venue in guildford. Beautifully renovated historical site with a funky new menu, craft beers and espresso martinis to die for. A must see.

Kaila R.

Yelp
Best bao buns! Burger! And cocktails ever! Love this place! We go all the time and its good without fault everytime!

Addam C.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVED what they have done with the place. Tried to keep as much of the old and incorporate it with the new as possible. Food was AMAZING!!! Cheeseburger Spring Rolls really do taste like Cheese burgers. It's come up with the "today" features in a pub. So it's not cheap. They haven't given too much thought to those that drive and want light beer. They had 1 brand of light beer (peroni) and it took 5 mins for them to work that out. They really need to cater more for those that want a beer and dinner but are driving. $8.50 a light beer wasn't too inviting either. Fire places everywhere. Wood and gas. So very comfy. Looking forward to when it's completed

Parking a problem though. was crowded and a lot of bustle but that to be expected with a new cool venue The food is pub style and good quality - mainly designed to share, but with a few larger dishes and burgers.

Yelp
Decent. Been hanging for this to open for almost 5 years and wasn't disappointed. Great contemporary pub food selection, with a focus on American style BBQ (smoked meat and brisket etc), Asian fusion and modern Australian food encased in a beautiful restored heritage building. It is dang busy at the moment and still finding it's feet, so sometimes feels a bit chaotic getting a table and ordering food. But when the food comes, it is very good quality and delicious. Guildford Hotel could showcase some of the beer produced in the Swan Valley, namely more Feral and Mash (and Homestead Brewery) and make it a bit of a gateway to the Valley rather than the generic (and overpriced) Carlton/Coopers/Hahn offerings dominating the taps.

Liz G.

Yelp
Nice ambiance and lots of different areas to sit. It was relatively busy on a Saturday lunchtime but quieted down quickly by about 2pm. The food and drinks were nice, but a bit overpriced and the menu was somewhat limited, especially for people needing GF food - the only options for me were tacos, corn chips or a salad. What happened to traditional pub fare like steak? If you're after a burger or smoked meat (not sure why these meats weren't a GF option) there was a good range. (Edited to add: just re-checked the menu after reading another review, three weeks later, and they've revamped and added GF buns as an option for their burgers and most of the meats are now labelled as GF - hooray!) Nevertheless, there was enough to try, and while I might not be back in a hurry for a meal, I'd come back for drinks, as even though the prices were high, there were a lot of varied choices.

Steven M.

Yelp
Lovely place but the menu was quite limited. No parmi means no 5 stars. Sorry. Great atmosphere though and it looks fantastic. Service was also great.

Andrew N.

Yelp
They have done a fantastic job with the renovation, friendly staff, gotta pay a visit.

Lauren C.

Yelp
Service wasn't great, food was overpriced and super greasy... I ordered the $22 gilly burger and it tasted just like a $2 McDonald's burger... the building it self was beautiful but nevertheless, won't be returning.

Christine O.

Yelp
To think we nearly lost this most beautiful grand old lady, to a most tragic fire some years ago was heartbreaking! For years she stood broken and burnt, unable to stand alone, as her loving community could only stand by, protesting but helpless to save her. Well you should see her now! Strong and once again able to stand on her own foundations, embracing her heritage, scars and all. What a wonderful job her restorers have done. The hotel has been opened up on so many levels, full of memorabilia, with just a touch of modern qwirkiness. Inside, outside, upstairs or down take you pick. Oh, and of course there's a fantastic selection of food, wines, beers and spirits to be enjoyed by a log fire or on a sunny balcony. See you there!

Bridie W.

Yelp
One of our cocktails were undrinkable. It basically tasted as though we were drinking lipgloss. after a couple of sips we asked to have the drink taken back and have a different one...management refused...for a $20 cocktail we expected much better...disappointing.

John C.

Yelp
I love having the old pub back in operation. The interior fit out is sweet with lots of funky nooks to settle into. Great range of beers and dude food. Not too cheery when paying pint prices for schooners though. Hopefully when the refit is paid for they will get pricing in line with the other pubs in Guildford.
