We arrived for late lunch and was t busy at all. Service: The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about your experience. Our server took the time to explain the dishes and made great recommendations. Food came out quickly, and they checked in just the right amount. Ended up going to this place as we wanted a restaurant that serves both Spring Rolls and Gobi Manchurian, to satisfy all the cravings of our party. It wasn’t crowded for a Thursday dinner. Needless to say, we ordered their Spring Rolls and Gobi Manchurian. Spring Rolls were crispy on the outside but the inside was indiscernible, no distinguishable veggies, just one paste/goo, probably potato. This is a 2/5. Gobi Manchurian was a 3/5. The Gobi was crispy on the outside, just how it should be, but the sauce was a huge let down. It was very very ketchup-y. We also ordered Veg Chowmein which was alright, but definitely not worth $16. No veggies of note, nothing expensive like broccoli or snap peas or anything. 3/5 for the taste, 2/5 for the price. The only dish of note was the Nepalese Veg Thukpa which is soupy noodles, like Ramen. The soup was tasty although the turmeric in it was a bit overpowering. The noodles was the same as the one in chowmein. Good quantity. 4/5. Didn’t try the momos. In summary, I think Everest Cuisine is a better option for taste and definitely on the price, and the number of options. Or, there’s always Inchin’s Bamboo garden or Red Hot Chilli Pepper. Similarly priced but better taste and overall experience.

We tried vegetable momos both steamed and soupy alongside veg chowmein noodles. To be honest we have not tasted such amazing veg momos in last few years. The service and ambience complemented the food appropriately. To sum it up the food was soulful and very well prepared. Shree was our server and she was very cordial and provided excellent suggestions. Highly recommend visiting The Gurkha Kitchen to taste authentic nepalese cuisine.

Absolutely loved our lunch at The Gurkha Kitchen in Sunnyvale! The jhol momos were perfectly spiced and comforting, the steamed momos with achar were fresh and flavorful, and the Nepali thali set brought back true taste of home—everything was authentic and delicious. The ambiance is inviting and the hospitality even warmer. Big shoutout to the owners—proud to support friends who are doing such an amazing job representing Nepali cuisine! Highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone craving real Himalayan flavors.

Great food here! Portion sizes are on the smaller end but prices are lower than average. Very tasteful. Would recommend!

Great food, they gladly accrpted our requests like bring canned juice in a different cup for the baby and aligned with our wishes for food to maintain mild to moderate spice levels. Lovely interior as well!

Must try Kalo daal in Veg Thali. Chhole bhature one of the best tasting preparation. Great veg options oh and yes, One of the best chai in bay area

This was my family's first time at the Gurkha Kitchen. I have been wanting to try it for some time now. We ordered butter chicken and chicken biryani for the kids. My wife and shared a chicken thali. We were worried if the butter chicken would be too spicy however, it was mild, buttery, tender and above all tasty. Chicken Biryani portion was very generous and was just right. Chicken thali was an experience was lots of different taste and texture. We had a wonderful meal and will look forward exploring other menus.

Dining in may have provided a better experience. We were so enamored with the San Ramon location last night, we went to try the Sunnyvale location since we were in the area. The servers were friendly and brought us complimentary chai tea while we waited for our food. The restaurant was smaller and more decorative than the San Ramon restaurant. We ordered our food to go and were slightly disappointed, partly because our bag tipped over on the way home and the tandoori chicken sauce got over every container and inside the bag. The chicken momos were shaped more like Chinese dumplings/Japanese gyozas instead of the unique little volcanos we had last night. They were still delicious. The tandoori chicken was not as juicy since we lost a lot of the sauce. We tried the lamb biryani. It was spicy and good. Definitely use the yogurt sauce they serve with it. Loved all the big chunks of lamb. We will go to the restaurant again and dine in to get the full experience.

As always, amazing food, quick service and pleasant experience. First time on Friday evening, so very busy this place gets. Got a table quickly and was able to place order soon. Food was served in 15 mins. Ordered different types of veggie momos. Loved them as usual. Will keep coming here.

Food was excellent. The momo meat is infused with fat giving making it both flavorful and not dry. Service is fast despite a full restaurant. Ambiance is lively.

Overall good quality food. Service is quick. We had the chicken biryani which was very flavorful and moist. Then had the Gurkha chicken also very nice. At 12 pm the place was busy but service was good. We would come back.

Our go-to spot for takeout. Our daughter loves the chicken momos, and the chilli chicken is always on point spicy with a hint of sweetness. Tandoori is well-marinated and flavorful, not burnt. The chicken Gurkha thali is warm comforting homely meal . Casual ambiance and consistently satisfying food.

What a delicious lunch! I brought my parents to Gurkha and we enjoyed everything. Service was very friendly and I learned this location is the original Gurkha Kitchen. We ordered a variety of dishes to share-Chicken Momos, Goat Curry, Thalli set chicken and garlic naan. Loved all the flavors. The momos were filled with tender ground chicken in a delicate wrap and served with a curry dipping sauce. The goat curry was very tender and savory. My parents especially loved this dish over rice. I loved the Thalli set which is served with a variety of sides. The dal (black lentils) and the sautéed veggies were so good and the restaurant offers free refills! The chicken (bone in) curry was flavorful. The garlic naan was soft and fresh. Perfect for all the sauces. Delicious and I'll definitely be back!

Was not busy on the weekday for lunch so quick ordering & food came quickly. The chicken momo is super juicy! Def taste the various spices but was not too spicy and the sauce was really good. The chick thali brought back the taste of Nepal and was super good. I was secretly hoping the waiter would come around with the caddy for free refills but we're on the states so I'll keep the wishful thinking!

Their service is great. Ambience is cozy filled with Nepalese decor. We ordered a lot of things, but my favorite is their thakali thali (goat, veg, chicken) - Nepali Approved! I order it often. WaiWai sadheko is more like WaiWai chatpate, but it's yummy - order it. Their momo is not that good.

Picked this spot to have a nice romantic lunch with hubby. We biked over and were promptly seated. Ordered: Goat thali: hubby said this was really good and would order again. I tried the non goat portions and everything was tasty! Paneer tikka masala: 4/5 sauce was good and paneer was good too. Garlic naan: 5/5 yum! Friendly service. It did take a while for our food to be served but we weren't a big rush.

We saw this next to "new india bazar" when we visited on the weekend for some last minute grocery shopping. It has a big parking lot right outside. It's open till late. Then we saw it "open" on yelp late last night on "uber eats" past 9 pm also and giving out promotions like "free item over $30" and "buy 1, get 1 free" on butter chicken, channa, gurkha chicken. So we decided to give it a try. In $41, we got: - chicken momos (regular-medium spicy) - 3/5 the mixture was ok but shell was slightly more doughy for me if i compare it to Everest momo food truck. I wish they gave the chili hot sauce for dipping on the side like most momo places. Their orange sauce was lame. Reducing 1 star for sauce :( - butter chicken 4/5 - it was buy 1 get 1 free which was a good deal. It was more tangy than most places but i think it showed it had less processed puree. It did taste better today as leftovers with home made rotis. - fried rice veggie 3/5 - a full size portion of it came free when you order for more than $30. It was dry for me but maybe if you order a Manchurian dish it will pair well

Stopped into this restaurant after binging a bunch of Pani Puri videos--had to try it for myself. Pani Puri: super fun and fresh; crisp shells, tangy water, and a great kick. A bit too sour for me but quite refreshing. The dining room is spacious and super clean, with unique wall decor and lots of certificates. We also got the buffalo platter--the side salad was surprisingly good, and the buffalo had that savory, jerky-like chew I love. The chicken tikka pizza came loaded with cheese. Very rich and tasty :P Overall, good flavors, a clean space, and welcoming vibes. I'd recommend it.

Overall pleased with our meal and quantity was spectacular. We got the chow mein, chicken Manchurian, chili paneer, the soup momos (Amazing) and pani puri, and cottage cheese spinach pizza. Didn't know about quantity but between the three of us it was more than enough and good for next day too. Everything tasted good and I particularly enjoyed the soup momos. That itself is a meal for me and I loved it. The service was very good and quick. We were only two of another customers in the place on a Monday so it wasn't too busy. But I can imagine this place being packed over the weekend. The ambience was simple and lot of lovely pictures of food and good Nepalese music was playing. Happy to come back here anytime again.

Great food. Had thakali thali and lamb biriyani. Curries were great and so biriyani. Rice was perfectly cooked and so the meat Will definitely visit again

The Gurkha Kitchen famous for their nepalese cuisine. We ordered their famous Wai Wai starter , vegetarian thali and chow mein. Everything was so good. We ordered Masala lassi and chai also. They have decent inside setting and pretty good service. I would highly recommend this place if you want to try Nepales cuisine.

We had chicken thali to try out all the different items of Nepali cusine. The chicken curry was great. However, the rice tasted and smelled bad. The quality wasn't good for all the items.

We have been to Gurkha kitchen in San Ramon and we love their food. This location has a different menu choices but no difference in their quality and taste. Kids lived their momos and butter chicken. We also ordered gobhi Manchurian and it was amazing. Their Goat curry and butter chicken is our staple. Highly recommended place for anyone who wants to try authentic Indian food. P. S. Food was delicious and service was excellent! We came around 9:45pm on a Friday night. We sat right away, ordered right away, and ate right away. Their butter chicken is excellent! I think they use dark meat chicken which makes the chicken super juicy. My husband got the tikka masala and he liked it very much. There is a lot of sauce so rice or lots of naan is a good idea. And the garlic naan is delicious! We also got the Taj Mahal lager, and Nepal Ice beer. They were very refreshing and tasty. Perfect pairing :) We will definitely be coming back. I also like that they are open late.

Had a chance to try Gurkha Kitchen and this was a great experience! If you are craving momos, Indo-Chinese food, or Butter chicken, this place has it all. The hubs and I were craving some yummy food for a Sunday dinner, and we spotted this on Uber Eats. We ended up placing a pickup order and it was great! The ambiance of this place is cute, it's on the dimmer side, but I liked the interior. Service was quick as when we went for pickup, our food was ready. For food we ordered and tried: * Butter Chicken - this was delicious - the sauce was more on the tomatoey side, which the husband loved - he can't wait to get more * Veggie fried rice - this was the indochinese version and was delicious. This came with plenty of veggies and the flavor of the rice was very flavorful itself *Chicken Momo's - this was also delicious and quite juicy. The sauce the momos came with was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed. This came with 8 pieces Overall, great experience and can't wait to go to try more!

I highly recommend the goat curry and dal tadka. Actually, everything in these pictures is delicious. The curry and dal are must tries though! The green chutney that comes with the pokora is so flavorful and pairs perfectly with the fish. The cauliflower has an amazing soy-garlic sauce that's really good. The service is great and our water cups were constantly being filled. I like how there are pictures of the food around the restaurant and a chef's special menu to choose from. The music is nice and it feels comfortable and clean to dine here. I'll be back!

I am on a quest to find the best gobi Manchurian in the Bay Area and so far this is the best! None of that artificial color you see everywhere or ketchup! Solid 8.5/10

I ate three dishes here that made me dream about coming back just to have them again. The "Chicken C Momo"? DELICIOUS. Literally the juiciest dumplings with the most comforting spicy garlic sauce and chopped veggies together. When these arrived at my table, the momos were CRISP even with the saucy glaze they were covered in. I was mesmerized by its beauty and the blend of textures. It's something I want to have every time I'm feeling down in life because eating these felt like I was being lifted up and hugged. The "Pahadi Chicken Tikka Kabab" was excellently spiced. Paired with the "Garlic Naan" and you have a winning duo. The chicken was soft and tender, easy to pull apart. The bread had literal minced garlic pieces and was so soft and hot. I can't tell you the number of times I've ordered garlic naan and it just comes out as buttered bread with garlic flavor. This naan here was the real deal y'all. The only thing I didn't like was the "Thakali Thali Goat". The goat was great but the veg dishes were a bit lacking. Since the menu labels the contents with "veg of the day" it'll probably be a hit or a miss depending on what you like. There's also plentyyyy of seating for you and loved ones, heck, an entire family of 8+ walked in for a casual dinner when I ate here. And the highlight of this place? Definitely the foreign music videos that play on the TV. My company and I enjoyed seeing that cultural touch on top of all the beautiful decorations surrounding the space.

Ordered the butter chicken and the lamb and the Gobi Manchurian. The food here is so freaking amazing. Everything from the creaminess of the butter chicken to the spices in the lamb. I would come back here in a heartbeat. There's so much to love about this restaurant. I hope I can try other things like the momo's

I had their veggie chowmein for takeout, it was fantastic. The menu has plenty of vegan options, although they are not labelled. I emailed to ask and I am told the vegan options are: mixed mass tarkari, channa masala, veg chowmein, dal tadka, and aloo bodi tama. The veg momos are not vegan. The portion size for the chowmein was very large, enough for two meals. Very reasonably priced as well.

Gurkha chicken was excellent! Service was excellent! My new go to spot for Indian. I look forward to trying more options on the menu.

Came in late from LA. Found the place on yelp. Great food. Friendly staff. Padahi chicken was recommended to me and it was amazing. Naan was light and warm. It really hit the spot after all the travel. The wine was also a very generous pour. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area.

Came in with my family to try Nepalese food for my b-day extravaganza and loved it! The experience was exotic and incredible! It was not busy on the evening we came. I liked the quietness and privacy. Ordered vegetarian Momo, fish curry Nepalese style, Thali, chicken curry and goat curry. The food was delicious! Every dish was uniquely prepared with great care. The plate was served with either rice or naan. The garlicky naan was exceptional! Exactly how I like and how it should be. My curry fish was mild with a tang of spices, from the result of tempering with pepper, etc. Authentic and tasty. Tried a bit rice with curry goat, the taste was inviting! I figured it was the curry sauce that did the magic. By just looking at my son's Nepalese Thali, I already knew it was good. My intuition is always right. That's the dish I am going to try next time. My first time trying Nepalese food, it's more agreeable to my palate as it's milder. Kudos to the chef who knows how to cook yummy food. :) Service was friendly and attentive. The waitress kept things coming up and did her job very well. Interior was culturally decorated with Nepalese landmark paintings and artifacts. Clean, simple and elegant. The vibe was calming, gentle and authentic. I enjoyed the atmosphere. This restaurant has the highest rating among all other locations and there must be a reason why. Will return and highly recommend it!

The food has always been great. Great place to eat many different style of food and all of them have always turned out good.

Before an escape room, our group of 9 friends decided to grab food beforehand~~ WE made a reservation for lunch and got pani puri, garlic naan and butter chicken. The food came out quickly, was fresh and delicious. I enjoyed all the sauces thoroughly and the service was speedy and fast~ They were good with refilling our waters.

My husband is Nepali and this is our whole family's go-to spot. We frequent Gurkha Kitchen at least once a month -- both in the restaurant and also for takeout. Everything on their menu is great and authentic. We always order a few servings of chicken and buff johl momos. We particularly love the salty/sour sauce that the johl momos come with. We've also tried their Goat Curry, Wai Wai Sadeko, Thakali Thali Goat, and Khasi ko Sekuwa. All delicious! Their mango lassi is also quite delicious and we always grab at least one each time we visit. Staff is always friendly and the food is consistently good. Definitely recommend!

Stumbled upon this Nepalese restaurant and glad that we did. The ambience is perfect for a cute date with anyone. The service was quick and immediately assisted. We asked for recommendations and ordered based on it. The Dumplings were so tasty. Piping hot with the mom chutney. Couldn't wait to take a picture but took a photo of Manchurian and Veg Chowmein. One star less for Manchurian since the gravy was soo sour. The Manchurian balls were yummy. Would definitely recommend this place if you are craving indochinese :)

Hole in the wall type of outfit but everything we ordered were great! Service was pleasant. So I was stuffed and happy went I left.

Food was very flavorful and authentic. It was the end of peak time so we waited for a few minutes but not too long. They accommodated our party of 6 fairly quickly and as busy as they were the service was very good. Server was super friendly. The place was nice and well adorned. Definitely a place to go back to when in the area. We were so hungry I actually forgot to take pictures of the menu and food. Will add the next time we go there for sure!!!

We visited this restaurant recently and really liked the food. We ordered Pahadi chicken curry, Chola bathura, saag paneer, and chicken momo. All the items were flavorful and arrived piping hot. My son in particular liked the chicken curry. We will visit again for the food and prompt service .

Another great goat thali experience late in the night.Perfect balance of veggies, lentils , beans, meat. Probably the best food to eat late in the night in the Bay area. Service was phenomenal today too.

The food was really top-notch. And the leftovers tasted incredible the next day too. Will definitely come back.

Came by with a group for lunch. We over-ordered quite a bit of food. From what I can remember: -samosas -chicken biryani -dumplings -butter chicken -garlic naan I enjoyed the flavors of all of their food. Food portions are also quite good. Decent amount of seating inside. Staff is friendly. Parking is easy in the plaza.

Love the Thakali Thalis - both chicken and goat. Less spicy and feels wholesome. The potato side, greens is my favorite along with the black dal

We ordered take out from Gurkha Kitchen. The restaurant was buzzing when we picked up our order. All the food was fine, but we will try other restaurants before returning.

4.5/5 pretty solid Nepalese food. Tikka Masala is great. Chicken is smoky, flavorful, and tender. I enjoyed the tomato depth of the curry. Fish pakora was great and freshly cooked. Soft inside. Naan and rice was good. Would skip The Gurkha Chicken - it's just a butter chicken but with bone-in chicken. It's not bad, but it's not worth getting if you are already getting a Tikka!

Visited on V day. They had some specials but we stuck to regular menu. Chicken was overcooked in the chicken chowmein and it lacked salt as well. The pahadi chicken was delicious though and it went well with garlic naan. We also got thukpa, it had a lot of veggies and was good. The chicken johl momo had some tough and uncooked wrappers but was otherwise good.

the gurkha kitchen was a cute spot! the vibe was much more of a family atmosphere and the staff was nice. a good amount of non-pork options and vegetarian options. we went on a saturday night around dinner time so service was a bit slow but the food was good! we got: chicken chili momo: 5/5 I've had momo before and TGK's momo had thicker, crispier skin than most I've had. so good!!! the thicker skin definitely made it more filling than other dumplings I've had. the chili garlic sauce it was tossed in was delicious! we got it medium spicy and the spice snuck up on us in a good way. also, it was tossed in fresh bell peppers and onions which were delicious. I don't even like bell pepper and I loved theirs thakali thali chicken: 3.5/5 I've never had thakali thali specifically before so I might just not love it. the curry and the lentils were both more watery than I expected and the chicken was a bit dry. people seem to love the thakali thali goat so maybe try that one instead mango lassi: 5/5 yummy and sweet but not too sweet. I wish it was bigger though
